Chapter Text
You walked amongst people. Busy streets, cars honking, and people running into each other as they rush to their awaiting bus station. The breeze was strong; uncovering your head that was beneath your hood. The breeze became stronger as you tried to cover your head once again. Leaves flew into your face, you quickly put your arm in front of your face to stop the leaves from hitting you. Your eyes were closed shut and once you felt a bright light on your face, you slowly put down your arm to see two figures in front of you.
You look around to see a field of flowers around you and the two figures. One of the figures seems to notice someone behind and turn their head to you as they keep their hand on their hat to prevent it from flying away. You squint your eyes and see that the figure looks a bit like you. You begin to slowly walk forward but then the bright light ends, flashing before your very eyes.
Your eyes open to see you're still in the same city, same spot you were before. You look at the people around you, they give you a face or are on the phone. You put your hands in your pocket and keep walking.
You finally get to your bus stop and walk up the steps. You walk towards the back seat and scoot yourself to next to the window seat. You lean your arm on the window and look out. You soon space out and hear a faint voice. You blink in question and look around you. The people on the bus are focused on their phones or have fallen asleep. I must’ve been mistaken.
You grab your phone and open up Spotify to play your playlist. You put your phone back into your pocket and let it do its thing. You sigh quietly as you look outside the window in your seat. The city lights were pretty but not as pretty as you imagined. The buildings were brightly lit up at night. Late workers or over workers might’ve stayed in the buildings. Soon, adulthood would come creeping up to you and before you know it, you’d be staying in a building for hours delivering or typing documents out then receiving feedback. You didn’t want your life to be like that, no.
The bus slowly stops at a bus stop and you look up to see it’s your stop. You get out of your seat and go down the steps of the bus. You watch the bus close its doors and drive off. You turn around to a tall building with several windows. You enter the building and take the elevator up to the 8th floor. The elevator dings and opens its doors to the 8th floor and you dig through your hoodie pocket to grab a key card. You step out of the elevator and walk down the hallway to a door. You scan your card to a screen and it automatically clicks open the door. Walking in, you slip off your shoes and put on your slippers. You walk around the house to see if there are any of your family members in the house. The house remains quiet and you proceed to go to your room.
Opening the door to your room, you remove your hoodie along with your earphones connected to your phone and put it on your desk and your hoodie, throwing it on the chair as you lay on the floor. You play with your fingers and look at the ceiling. You turn your head to the side along with your body. You sigh again and sit up. You walk to your closet and grab a shirt and long pajama pants. You take a quick shower. A hot shower. You turned off the shower faucet once you were down and grabbed a towel to wipe yourself dry.
After getting ready for bed, you look at your PC and then your bed. You rub your hair with your towel and then sit on the desk chair. You get your PC ready and pull up Genshin Impact on your phone. You grab your phone and look through social media as you wait for Genshin to open. Finally, the Genshin screen pops up and you quickly click on the screen. You put aside your phone and immediately start doing your daily commissions.

You finish up defeating a boss, using the resin to receive materials from the flower. You look at the clock as it’s 2am and you close Genshin for now. You tuck yourself into bed and soon fall asleep.
As you move around, you feel you back on something rough and now soft, like a mattress. You rub your eyes awake and slowly sit up. The same flower field, and… the same figures you met the day before. You stand up slowly. The two figures now intertwined at their hands. One of them with the same hat. Your eyes gleamed as you stared at the two. They both look at each other, one noticing you again. You find yourself walking towards them. They turned their body around fully, but you weren’t able to see their faces. They were scribbled out. Soon, the ground began breaking before you. You fell into a far hole that seemed endless. You shut your eyes closed as you fell through the hole.
You opened your eyes to find yourself in your room. On a mattress, and not on a patch of grass. You push your blanket away from you and sit on the edge of your bed. You got up from your bed and headed to the living room. You plopped onto the couch and sat there not knowing what to do. You decided to head out to grab some snacks. You headed to the apartment door and slipped out of your slippers and put on your shoes. You walk out of the apartment and lock the door. You then go to the elevator and press a button to return to the main floor. The elevator door opens and you walk out the apartment building and make your way to the nearest store.
A few minutes later, you find yourself lost. You accidently mixed up two ways that looked similar. You sigh in frustration and look around you. You pull out your phone and search for the nearest store. You found one 20 minutes away from your location. You scratch your head as you find a bus stop across the street. You walk across the street and wait for the next bus to show up. A few minutes later, a bus showed up and walked up inside, taking the window seat again. The bus starts driving up again and you quietly sit inside the bus.
You watch the GPS on your phone go to the location. Knowing that you’re going to have to walk a little, you didn’t mind. You played a couple of games while waiting and then the bus stopped. You saw the store at the corner of your eye and quickly got off the bus to walk to the store. Once you arrived at the convenience store, you went in the aisles and grabbed chips. At the back of the store, you grabbed yourself a bottle of soda and then went to the cashier. You paid for your items and headed out the store. As you step outside the store, clouds come rolling in from above. You groan as raindrops come falling down. You held out your hand and then retrieved it back. You cover your head with your bag of snacks and run towards a bus station. You finally get under some shelter. You hold onto your bag tightly as you patiently wait for a bus to show up.
It takes a while for a bus to show. You tap your feet on the concrete floor and hum to your favorite song. The bus finally shows up and you get into the bus once more. As you get onboard, you take a look at the bus driver. The bus driver looks sleepy but is awake thanks to the coffee beside them. They blink slowly while waiting for the people to settle down. You take a seat in the middle and pull out your phone. You open up Genshin Impact on your phone and then you plug your earphones in.
The bus starts moving, bumpy at first. You roam around the game in Genshin and find some chests along the way. The bus starts to move slowly and then faster. You hold on your bag and phone tighter. You look at your phone as you pull for a random gacha. You’re disappointed to receive a 3-star weapon. You look through your character details for fun in the meantime. Then, the bus starts to move faster. You quickly turn your head to see the bus driver fast asleep but their foot on the pedal. You get worried, you thought if you tried to stir the wheel, you would die head first. You put away your phone, not noticing you still have a voice line playing. You get up and look at the people on board, shook but unalarmed. You fast-walk to the steering wheel but it’s hard to walk on a moving vehicle.
You stumble forward, catching yourself in front of the headboard. You grip on the steering wheel next. You see a red light upcoming, the people start to notice and start panicking. They grab out their phones as well. You look forward to seeing the car from the other side of the street starting to move. You panic, you freeze. You knew that you were supposed to steer the steering wheel but something held you back. You grip on the steering wheel knowing you’d blackout soon.
The limit to one's power is self-destruction. Answer me. Why do you persist?
You look up to the driver. You open your mouth to try to stop the driver, but as soon as you’re about to yell something, the bus collides with a vehicle causing the bus to flip over. You take the tumble along with others and you soon fall into a concussion. Soon, your eyes slowly open. Your eyes were clouded, barely seeing a thing. Everything was a blur. You look to the side to see yourself laying in a small pile of blood from your head. You were too tired to call out for help, or pull out your phone to call an ambulance.
You knew that you’d be falling into a long sleep. You knew that you won’t be able to experience the rest of your life due to this accident. You think to yourself, it’s my fault. It’s my fault. Your eyes get heavy, you refuse to close them but they immediately close, the surroundings around you soon turn pitch black.
You hear voices, voices that you’re familiar with, voices that you’ve never heard of. Voices from that game, Genshin Impact. They soon get louder and louder, you try to lift your arms to cover your ears to block the sounds. Your arms are numb, you feel like you’re being glued to the floor. This unfamiliar feeling gets you scared like someone's pulling you down with them.
Thank you for always making time to chat with me.
Your eyes slowly open to see a bright light once more. You look at a photo of someone you aren’t familiar with. You try to figure out who it is but then the photo fades away. Another photo of someone unfamiliar pops up, you notice the faces are scribbled out again like that dream you had. You look around to see locations you’ve seen before. You look at the landscapes, it looks familiar but yet unfamiliar. The pictures fade once more and then the bright light fades away. Again, the flower field appears, the two same figures. Their mouths start moving like they’re talking to each other. You try to mouth the word that the figure is saying.
