Work Text:

After 14 hours of the most excruciating pain he'd ever endured on the day he should never have had to be subjected to unimaginable pain, silence followed by tiny little cries enveloped the room.

Soon a choked sob from his alpha reached him and he turned to find a bundle of pink blankets with a head full of blond hair being cradled in Izuku's arms.

A girl.

They had a tiny, little, perfect girl.

They wanted to keep the gender a surprise because it was their first and Katsuki was too nervous to ever ask for too many details. They didn't need to know anyways because not knowing until she arrived made it that much better.

"Kacchan! Kacchan, she's so beautiful!" Izuku bent down to place her in his arms. The second that Katsuki took hold of her, Izuku wrapped his arms around his little family. "She looks just like you."

Normally, Katsuki would have pushed him away and yelled something about getting snot all over him. But not today, the stupid hormones have him acting like an idiot, so he tried his best not to cry all over the new pup and snuggled in further next to his alpha.

Ash-blond hair so light that it was almost white sat atop of her beautiful head and the most striking pair of ruby red eyes looked up at him. A big yawn scrunched her face and her little hands with the tiniest fingers either of them had ever seen came up in little fists to rub at her face. Katsuki's heart absolutely clenched and melted, leaving him with nothing but an impossible amount of serotonin coursing through his veins.

Everything in the world was right at that moment. There was no amount of doctors or nurses who would tear them from this moment. Nothing would ever be as important as she was. When Katsuki first found out he was expecting, he was a bundle of nerves that wouldn't dissipate until she was out of him.

His biggest fear was that, after Izuku, he had no more love to give to another person. His wonderful, stubborn, patient alpha who showed him what unconditional love meant was the world to him, how could he possibly have any left to give when Izuku had it all?

He'd never been so wrong in his entire life. The little pup in his arms was suddenly everything, a combination of Izuku and Katsuki made completely as a result of their love and dedication to each other. Taking time off of hero work was suddenly so appealing if it meant that he could spend his days staring at her long blond eyelashes and the light dusting of freckles across the bridge of her nose.

"I can't believe we made her," Izuku sniffled behind him, touching her cheek with the back of his scarred finger.

"Who's we?" Katsuki scoffed. "Your 15 seconds doesn't compare to all the shit I went through." There was no heat behind his words, especially not when he leaned back and turned his face into his mate's scent gland.

Normally Izuku would have blushed and called out his partner's name in a whine, but nothing could kill his high. Not even the nurses who were giggling beside them as they tended to Katsuki. Now that he knew that Katsuki and the pup were out of immediate danger, he could relax and enjoy them. She was incredibly quiet, after her initial cry she quieted down and fell right to sleep against Katsuki's chest. As she should, she had a tough journey.

Katsuki reached out to touch her face and accidentally nudged her fist. Before he could pull back she uncurled her fingers and grabbed a tight hold on her dam's finger. Even though Katsuki knew it was an instinct that all pups had after birth, it didn't stop a wave of fresh new tears to fall down his face because  holy shit  his baby grabbed onto him and showed no signs of letting go.

Izuku cooed at both of them and Katuski had absolutely no energy to be mad because damn it if it didn't feel good to be surrounded by and doted on by his alpha. He deserved it after all of the shit he went through. If he's being honest, he deserved all of the things that Izuku spoiled him with during the pregnancy including new nesting materials, collars, and kitchen and bathroom renovations to their home.

Truthfully, he hadn't had to lift a finger since that second line appeared on the stick. At first it bugged him, he was just pregnant, not dying! But watching his alpha provide for him and the newest arrival of their pack was incredibly endearing, and it helped him quell his pregnancy libido too.

"We're gonna get her all cleaned up and run some tests okay?" A short nurse with green hair darker than Izuku's interrupted them and Katsuki clutched his pup to his chest and growled.

"Your alpha can come with us if that makes you feel any better?" She gave him a sympathetic smile.

"You," Katsuki turned to Izuku, "follow them and make sure they don't hurt the pup."

"I don't want to leave you alone," Izuku's normally citrusy scent mixed with the sharp smell of rotting orange, he was panicking.

"You don't think I can take care of myself?!" Katsuki bared his fangs and Izuku was up and taking their pup out of his partner's arms.

"We'll be right back, okay Kacchan? You did amazing and I'm so proud of you! I always think that I can't be more impressed, and you always prove me wrong."

"Of course! I'm me, you idiot," Despite his brave vibrato, he was shaking at the thought of being left alone without his alpha or pup.

They weren't gone long and the entire time he was being checked on by his OB and the nurses. It was good to know that there were no health complications with either him or his pup. Now he could enjoy his new family without the constant anxiety that something was wrong. Once the pup was back in his arms and Izuku was behind him again he was able to relax.

Until a knock ruined their tranquil silence.

"Hello!" A bright voice that Katsuki could never be mad at called out. Inko walked through the door followed by his rambunctious mother.

"Hey brat, let me see my grandbaby!"

"Fuck off, hag!" Katsuki barked but spared an arm to accept her hug. It felt good to have his mom beside him despite their unconventional relationship.

"How you feeling, baby?" Mitsuki ruffled his sweaty hair and kissed his temple.

"Better now that she's here. It's so weird, like the pain never happened."

"That's the beauty of childbirth, you get the baby and forget the pain. It's completely worth it though." She smiled and pinched his cheek lightly.

Izuku hugged Inko until they all crowded around the little girl.

"Have you given her a name yet?" Inko ran her hand gently through one of the pup's locks.

"Mhmm! Kacchan, do you want to do the honors?" Izuku chirped.

"Mai Midoriya." Katsuki snuggled her close.

"It suits her beautifully, Katsuki." Inko kissed the crown of Katsuki's head and warmth radiated over his body.

His mother stepped away and he heard rustling, when he turned around he saw a small cake decorated with strawberries and a little cupcake with mango.

"You didn't think we forgot about you, did you?" Mitsuki's smile was wide and confident. "How could I forget that 28 years ago on this very day I was giving birth to my own little pup?"

Truthfully, he hadn't expected anyone but Izuku to care that it was his birthday, but he was dead wrong. They couldn't light candles because they were in a hospital, but they could sing him and Mai happy birthday.

As he pretended to blow out his candle he couldn't help but think it was the best birthday ever, even surpassing when he was 5 and his mom got him an All Might cake. He had no wishes to hope for, all of his dreams seemed to have come true, instead, he just bathed in the gratitude of having his pack.

Notes:

Happy birthday Kacchan! I'm sorry I'm so mean to you in all my stories.

I wrote this super quick because I wasn't going to do anything for his birthday. But this idea struck me and I couldn't get it out of my head so I wrote it out really quickly. I know I usually write smut but I couldn't help myself here. If you saw me post this on Twitter no you didn't.

Thanks for reading!
