Work Text:

“Hey, Eds,” Buck hummed, sliding up next to him at the kitchen sink. “Are you made of copper and tellurium?”

Eddie sighed, turning towards Buck with a raised eyebrow, expectantly.

“Because you’re cute.”

Eddie groaned, dropping the plate he had been rinsing off. “Buck, please tell me you’re not on another pick up line kick. Hen threatened to lock us in the closet last time!”

“And I’ll do it again,” Hen chimed in from the couches. “Except that one was pretty good, so you’re good… For now.”

Thank you, Hen! At least someone appreciates them.” Buck looked pointedly to Eddie, who rolled his eyes affectionately. “Anyway,” He continued, “How do you feel about raisins?”

“I… like them?” Eddie replied, abandoning the dishes and wiping his hands off.

“How do you feel about dates, then?” Buck asked cheekily.

“Like I’m about to cancel the one we have tonight if this is all that’s going to happen.”

“Hey!” Buck exclaimed, offense taken. “These are all amazing and you should consider yourself lucky that you get to be on the receiving end of them. Now, do me a favor and feel my shirt,” He held out the hem of his LAFD t-shirt towards Eddie, biting the inside of his lip to conceal a grin.

Eddie reached out, fingers grazing the fabric as he looked at Buck, eyebrows raised.

“Know what it’s made of?”

“Buck, if you say it’s made of—“ Chim started, but Buck cut him off.

“Boyfriend material!” Buck announced to a chorus of groans.

“Oh, my god,” Eddie whispered, mostly to himself. “ I chose this.”

“If you were a vegetable, you’d be a cute-cumber.” Buck grinned placed his chin on his hands, his elbows resting on the counter.

“How many of these do you have, Buck?” Chimney asked, and Buck pulled out his phone.

“Enough to do this for hours, Chim. Best get prepared.”

Another chorus of groans followed that, and Buck barely stifled a laugh.

“Are you a highway?” Buck asked, as Bobby entered in the lounge. “Because I want to ride you all night long.”

Buck,,” Bobby sighed, swiping his hand down his face. “I’m too tired for this.”

Buck flushed a bright red, and he could hear Hen and Chimney snickering. Eddie had a matching blush, and they both stood up straighter.

“Uh, hey, Cap,” Buck murmured. “I’ll stop now.”

Bobby clapped his shoulder, and forced a smile onto his face. “Thanks, Buck. Now make sure Eddie isn’t going to pass out from embarrassment.”

Buck gave him a thumbs up, and Eddie mouthed a fairly colorful string of words that just made Buck break down into giggles again.

“Yeah, babe, I love you too.”
