Work Text:

“Midoriya-senpai! Teach me how to compose music!”

“Senpai, can you sing this part?”

“Since our live stage is coming soon, you should probably sing the chorus first.”

Izuku leaned back against the wall during a break. He was sweaty from overexertion; but it would all be worth it once he, and the rest of his group, debut has an official idol unit. Izuku is a second-year in high school, so he’s been busy, but fun. Practice was over in ten minutes. Usually, after practice they all go to the club room to study. This was Izuku’s favorite part of spending time with his group mates. Specifically, Iida and Todoroki. They were both very talented dancers and singers, climbing up the trainee ladder just as Izuku had.

Once he got to the clubroom, Izuku sat next to Iida. The blue-haired boy was a senior at their high school and president of the student council. He was already working hard on budget proposals.

“It sure has been hard to relax lately, huh?”

Iida looked up from the many sheets scattered in front of him. He smiled, “Unfortunately, so. I worry more for my kouhais who still have entrance exams to prepare for.”

“Oh, that’s no worry. My class set up a study group.”

“I see… you must be spending a lot of time with Todoroki-kun then.”

Izuku blushed, “Eh? Why are you so quick to bring that up?”

“Though Todoroki-kun is quiet, I see that something is going on between the two of you beyond friendship.”

“Are you upset with me?”

Iida waved him off, “Not at all. We’ve discussed this before at length; our relationship is open to anyone.”

The green-haired boy, in that moment, felt so thankful to have someone like Iida in his life. They met at a club fair and promptly became a couple. Iida looked like a super serious, no-nonsense person. But he was understanding and a lot more progressive than his conservative outside looks. Iida was the one who inspired Izuku to become an idol trainee, after all.

However, Todoroki was a different story.

‘He’s been so busy with his family because of pressure from them. I haven’t seen him much in practice either. Iida will always be someone I can rely on, but we both want Todoroki to be with us to a certain extent,’ Izuku couldn’t think but help as the study group continued on, ‘I haven’t seen him in a month, now.’

Todoroki had been doing practice alone. He was supervised by a personal trainer, courtesy of his father, who wanted only the best for his son.

“Today’s lesson is over, Todoroki-kun. Great work today!”

“Thank you,” Todoroki bowed.

The personal trainer held up his clipboard, “Your movements have gotten a lot more fluid. Though, I think it would be beneficial if you could practice with the whole group rather than just by yourself.”

“Tell my father that.”

Todoroki knew he wouldn’t, but he likes teasing the trainer as much as he could. It’s good that he’s been improving, but he missed spending time with his fellow trainees. Especially Izuku and Iida. He was supposed to go to a study group with his class, but travel time would cut into an already shortened session. Todoroki huffed. His father was way too damn strict.

His phone buzzed next to him on the floor.

Izuku: is everything ok? u weren’t at the study group…

Iida: i heard from izuku that you weren’t in the study group. we can deliver the worksheets to you if you’d like.

Todoroki smiled; they were so kind to him despite his cold exterior. He hoped they would debut as three idols, maybe in a subunit soon. Being with them was exciting, Todoroki knew they would welcome him back to practice--which he was going to go to, sorry dad--with open arms.
