the day was tuesday, just another tuesday in a week that feels like forever. soonyoung sincerely wished tomorrow was saturday already so he can have a deserving quality time with his husband, jeonghan. just like any other introverts, his battery does run out as work and activities flood his to-do list. spending the weekend with jeonghan is the only thing that keeps him sane and motivated to do his daily activities.
both of the couple got their own 9 to 5; jeonghan works as a business consultant for more than 4 years and counting. it's safe to say he's the company's ace for he is well-known for his out-of-the-box yet smart ideas. in the other hand, soonyoung just got accepted a few months back into an entertainment company where he's one of the creative division. working in the entertainment industry means it could be more than 9 to 5. heck, it could be 6 to 5 depending on the situation, especially if the company is preparing for an event — even though jeonghan had tried to ask soonyoung to look for jobs that are meant to be done from home, soonyoung's stubbornness somehow succeeded on convincing his partner to let him take the job. soonyoung knows well that all the allowances jeonghan gets every month are more than sufficient to afford a life for two, but as the hardworking man that he is, he insisted to have a job as well.
the day was tuesday in april, which means there aren't a lot of big events that the company must prepare; since they usually hold big events such as award ceremonies near the end of the year. but the company asked for the creative division to design a new show for the national television. even the team themselves asked soonyoung to join in and gather ideas for the upcoming show since they recognized what a creative mind soonyoung has got.
days past by and they were getting closer to the due date where they must have a whole proposal ready, but things didn't look ideal therefore they must take extra work time.
soonyoung took a glance on the watch that hugged his left wrist, the clock showed it was 5.04 PM, which means jeonghan might be preparing to go home while soonyoung is nowhere near ready to go home. thus he pulled his phone out of his pocket and phone called jeonghan through speed dial.
"hey soonyoungie! i'm already in the basement heading to the car. i'll probably be home in around 45 minutes," said jeonghan through the phone. his voice was bright and cheerful as soon as he saw it was his hoshingi who called.
"babe, i think i'll be home around 9 or 10," soonyoung poutily said, "we have to do that quick brainstorming thing because the proposal is like... 15% ready..."
jeonghan slammed the car door shut with enough force to close it properly, "that's... that's very late, baby. should i go to your office and wait for you there? you know, so when you're all finished already we can immediately go home!"
the idea earned a quick squeal of disapproval from soonyoung, "no! no way, nu uh. you might get extra exhausted after all day long working. i'll take the cab so don't sweat it okay! though i really appreciate it if you can stop by at mcdonald's and get me some nuggets with fries," he ended his sentence with a light chuckle.
"a cab... are you sure baby?" said jeonghan, obviously and audibly worried, "or just call me when you're about to go home okay? i'll pick you up as soon as possible."
the phone call ended by soonyoung agreeing jeonghan's idea – not completely, a couple of years into their marriage, soonyoung still feels reluctant for things like that, thanks to the thought of burdening jeonghan which sits on the very bottom of his to-do list.

the brainstorming finally came to an end at 9.16 PM, at this point, soonyoung doubted his decision to take the cab to go home. thankfully, one of his co-workers offered him a ride home with her own car. soonyoung pulled his phone out from his bag and saw texts from jeonghan.
honey 20.29 sweetheart i'm already home!
honey 20.29 call me once you're finished okay?
honey 20.30 i love you, my hardworking cutie. :) ❤
honey 20.33 oh anyway, permission to hug your plushies while you're away. i can't wait to hug my baby and they happen to smell like you so...
he smiled at the last text, then proceeded to hold his phone with both of his hands to reply.
soonyoung 21.17 i'm on my way home! don't worry i didn't take the cab!! sooyoung offered me a ride since she got her chauffeur picking her up.
soonyoung 21.17 see you in a few minutes!! i love you tooooo.
soonyoung locked his phone and put it back into his bag. he definitely was impatient to finally get back into his favorite hyung's arms and melt all the stress away.

"honey, i'm home!" shouted soonyoung once he stepped his foot on their house's floor. he let out a tired sigh after putting the keys back on its designated place. after a few minutes not getting a reply from jeonghan, he walked into their room after taking his shoes off, only to find that jeonghan was indeed hugging his tiger plushies — he got the biggest one under his arm, and the rest near his head, close enough for him to inhale soonyoung's scent as he breathes in. soonyoung couldn't help but smile at the view. he really adores his jeonghannie hyung so much especially when he's like this.
soonyoung silently put his bag down near the couch in their bedroom and once he was taking his shirt off to replace it with a comfy t-shirt, he heard soft groans from his husband, "soonyoungie? baby, you're home?" asked jeonghan sleepily. he knows that soonyoung loves his sleepy, raspy voice more than his own plushies.
"yes, honey, i'm home already and currently changing my clothes so i can snuggle near you," replied soonyoung in soft, almost hush-toned voice.
"oh please do get in here quickly and snuggle near me. i missed my baby so much," jeonghan shifted his position to face soonyoung.
once soonyoung had finished changing his attire into comfy ones, he excitedly climbed into their bed and instantly put his arm over jeonghan's waist with his head right in front of jeonghan's collarbone, "snuggle time! i missed you too, awfully lot. it's been quite a stressful day today, so this is the remedy that i longed for," soonyoung placed a soft peck on his husband's collarbone.
"it must be a hard day for you and my baby must be extra tired today," said jeonghan in pout, "now rest up with me okay? i'm here holding you now, baby. you did an extremely, tremendously good job today."
after they bid each other a good night, they finally fell into a world of peace where they dream and rest their tired bodies up for the night.
