Chapter Text

Are you really about to this? You're sitting at your desk at work, thinking about everything that's been happening. it's currently 5:47. In the morning. You've had to work extra hours to make up for the time you loss when you were sick. You felt a little sick right now even. But for a different reason. You were planing to jump down Mount Ebbot. You had been thinking about this for so long... are you really going to do it? It's not like anyone would even care... Your 'friends' had been talking about you behind your back. Your parents had been nagging you about your job. Your 'friends' were horrible people. Your parents were horrible people. Your parents had said it straight to your face before.

"I hate you." They said to your 9 year-old face.

Because you were being stupid or something... you don't even remember what you did... all you remember is that you ran into your room crying.

"Ring! Ring!"

You looked over and saw that your parents were calling you. They would be mad if you didn't answer.

"Hello?" You said holding the phone in between your shoulder and ear while typing something on your computer. You were still supposed to be working, after all.

"Where are you!?" Your mom screamed into the phone.

"Working."

"STILL!?"

"Yeah."

"How much time did you miss to have to be working at 5:48 AM!?"

"I know, I know. Now, why did you call in the first place?"

"Oh, right! Well, your brother's birthday is coming up soon, and what kind of parent would I be if I didn't get him a present?"

"Then go buy one."

"Oh, you know I can't afford that! I need you to go to the store and get him something he likes. Wrap it up or put it a gift bag then write 'To my wonderful son, from mom!' then bring it over here."

"You and dad make more money than I do, I think you can afford it..."

"You wouldn't understand! I am your mother so you will do as I say!"

You didn't have enough energy for this.

"Alright, alright. I will."

"Good. The moment you get off work I need you to do that."

"Alright. Bye."

Then your mom hung up.

You sighed and looked at the time. The digital clock read '5:54 AM'. Finally. You get out at 6, just 6 more minutes. You looked back at your computer. You were one of those typical office workers stuck in those cubicles. All you read on the computer was just a bunch of mumble jumble on how to improve the comfort of the workers. Family's had been complaining about how their child, wife, husband, gf, bf, sister, brother, had been coming home incredibly tired, or they had hurt their back sitting like that for so long... etc. So everyone was required to write at least two pages on how to improve the company. You bet you could go to fifty pages, but you were currently on page three. Three pages was enough, you decided. Your phone alarm beeped. 6 AM. Finally. You stood up and gathered your stuff and put it in your bag. You left your desk and as you were about to leave the door you remembered to clock out. You clocked out and were about to leave.

"Leaving already, (Y/N)?" Oh no.

You turned around and saw your boss.

Everybody stopped what they were doing. The boss was here. They all immediately straightened their backs and began typing faster.

"Uh, r-remember? I get out a-at 6 AM." Why were you stuttering!?

"No, you still have to make up for the hours you missed. You get out at 7. Get back to work."

Was he seriously doing this?

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me. Get. Back. To. Work."

"No."

"What did you just say?"

"I said. No."

"I am your boss you have to listen to me!"

"Like hell I do!"

"Get back to work or you're fired." 

"Then I guess I'm fucking fired!"

"Get out."

Gladly. You left. You saw people staring at you when you looked back through the glass door. Your ex-boss was glaring at you. You flipped him off and stuck your tongue out at him.

You were now driving to Mount Ebbot. You parked your car and slammed the door shut. You looked up at the mountain towering above you. You started climbing up. You saw the rangers guarding the mountain they hadn't seen you yet... you carefully continued to climb up, being as quiet as possible. Though, you supposed it was inevitable. A rock you stepped on tumbled down.

"Shit." You said quietly.

You had nothing to stand on. Then you remembered. Fire magic! You used your magic to make a small path of white fire (White fire doesn't hurt, it acts as more of a shield, and it doesn't take up as much energy as the rest of your fire magic). You didn't want to waste your energy, but this was necessary. You boosted yourself up to where the three rangers were. They tried to grab you but you ducked down and rolled. Yeah, you had practiced for stuff like this. You encased them in a cylinder-like shape.

"What the hell!?" You heard a woman say.

You ran towards an opening you saw. It was just a deep, dark abyss. You sat down, and let you legs dangle or the edge for a moment.

'This is suicide. Why am I even doing this?'  You thought to yourself

You knew exactly why though.

And with that...

                                                                                                            You jumped.                                                              

   You hadn't expected what happened next though. As you were falling, your head hit a rock and it knocked you out. You were lucky you didn't just die right then and there.

     You woke up in a pile of red and gold. You immediately recognized the flower's you landed on. These were one of your favorite flowers. But you could only barely see them. Why was everything so... blurry? Half of the golden flower you saw wasn't so golden. It was stained with a sickening red. 'Blood.' You thought inside of your head. 'My blood? Why am I bleeding?'  Then you remembered. You had jumped down. You looked down at your legs, desperately hoping you could move them. You tried, but you regretted it the moment you did. You yelped, it hurt. So bad. You tried to move your arms. That didn't work either. You were hoping you could crawl your way out, but that wasn't gonna work. You could just barely move your hands and that was it. There was nothing you could do. Nothing but cry out for help. Which you did. For a long while. But nobody came. You realized your efforts were pointless and gave up. You waited for darkness to take over. You waited, and waited, and waited. Until, you heard a voice.

     "...H-Hello?" The voice said.

You immediately started looking around, searching for whoever was speaking. You didn't see anyone, and there was of course a hallway, so maybe they could be in there, but you doubted it. The voice didn't sound like it was echoing, it sounded like they were right next to you.

"Where are you?" You were trying to sound calm.

You failed. Miserably.

"W-wait! You don't have to panic! I'm not gonna attack or something! I just... I wanna talk."

They didn't...  seem dangerous.

"Why?"

Why did they want to talk to you? You didn't know them so... why? And yet... they seemed... distinctly familiar?

"I just... haven't been able to talk to anyone for... awhile."

"Okay then.. I guess."

You two just started talking. Not about anything in particular, just anything. 

     You knew what was happening when your vision went dark, and the voice seemed to notice to.

"Oh. Oh no. You're... aren't you?" The voice said sadly.

"Yeah..." You responded.

You could understand what they were saying, just that they didn't want to say it. You were... you were scared. You were glad they were there with you though.

"You can't walk or crawl... Oh! Do you have any healing items? Any food? Please, please tell me you do! "

They said desperately. You slowly shook your head, sad expression on your face.

"As stupid as it is, I didn't think to bring any... But there is one thing." 

You had your magic but you couldn't muster up the energy to make green fire.

"What is it?"

"Does it really matter that I die?"

"Of course it does!"

"But I'd still be able to talk to you."

"How?"

"Because... You're dead, a ghost, am I right?"

You had been suspecting it for awhile, they sounded like they were right next to you but you couldn't see them so it was the only conclusion you could think of.

"...!" They seemed surprised.

"Haha... you're pretty smart, huh?" They said. "How did you figure it out?"

"Well, you sound like you're right next to me, but I can't see you."

"Well, I guess I'll see ya soon then... partner."

Those were the last words you heard before your vision went black.

   It was just like you woke up. One moment, your vision was black and you were lying on the floor, and the next, you were in midair falling down the mountain again. You had been so surprised that you hadn't been ready, and suddenly you hit the bottom, You had only been able to slightly move your body so that you avoided the rock, and while doing that you hadn't realized that would also save your arms, just not your legs. And because your legs took so much damage, you weren't able to walk.

' Great.'

  You saw the door leading into the next room, and started crawling to it, desperately clawing at the floor as you tried to push yourself further. Finally, you made it into the room. All you saw was a dark room with a little patch of green in the middle, until you got closer to the patch of grass and a little flower with golden petals appeared out of the ground, with a little smile on his face.

     "Howdy! I'm Flowey, Flowey the Flower! Hmmmm... You're new to the Underground, Aren'tcha? Golly, you must be so confused!"

 Kind of. There was a talking flower in front of you... But, of course, the rumors about monsters could have been true.

"Well, guess it'd be best if someone taught ya how things work around here, eh? It's a lot different up there than down 'ere! Well, guess I don't see anyone else who can help ya... guess little ol' me is your best option!"

Was he going to... help you? But then he pulled you into an encounter, and you were a little scared. You couldn't walk like this, much less dodge. If he wanted to, he could kill you in an instant.

"See that little red heart? That little heart... is your soul! It's the very culmination of your being!"

You already knew what it was, but decided it wouldn't be smart to interrupt or make him upset. Besides, he seemed nice so far. A lot nicer then any human you ever met.

"Your soul starts off weak as can be! But you get much stronger the more LV you gain!"

'LV? Didn't that stand for something? I can't remember...'

"Oh, what does LV stand for? Oh, why, LOVE of course! What else could it be?"

'Why did he say it like that? It was with different intent then Love...'

"You want some LOVE, right? I mean, who doesn't!"

'I don't know, do I? Am I in danger? It sounds like I am with the way your saying it. But... I think I can trust him. He's only been kind and helpful since I met him.' 

"Well, don't worry! I'll share some with ya!"

He winked and then... you could feel fear building up in your chest 'No, it's fine. He's only been nice to me so far, he's not gonna hurt me. I think that... maybe he's even my friend at this point?' White bullets pellets surrounded him.

"Well then, down here, LOVE is shared through... little white... Friendliness Pellets."

You didn't like how he hesitated in calling them friendliness pellets.

"Are you ready? All you gotta do is run into the bullets Friendliness Pellets!"

 'Did he just accidentally say... bullets!?'

      The moment they touched you, your hp dropped, and you screamed for help. For someone, anyone, to come save you.

"Awww! How pathetic! Nobody's going to come save you. You are all alone. Nobody cares enough! How sad! Awwww!"

His mocking tone of voice only made you more determined. Your hp was only at 0.0001./20. Wait... 20? Your max hp was 20??? Normally for an eighteen year old like yourself you would have a max of 35 hp... oh. Right, that was probably because of the fall. So now, chances of survival down here in general? Probably none. You were ready to die, for your vision to go black and you to be falling through the air, so that you could make it so your legs didn't take most of the damage when you fell so that you would be able to dodge the flowers Flowey's attacks. 

    But then, someone came. You nearly cried in relief. They attacked Flowey, making him hiss and then go into the ground to dodge the oncoming attacks.

It looked to be a goat monster. They had a black jacket on, with a purple shirt that had the Deltarune symbol on it. They also had a pair of gray sweatpants on.

"Oh my stars! Are you alright!?"

They saw your bloodied wounds and were horrified.

"Here..."

They picked you up, making you wince, but then they formed a small green flame in each of their hands, but when they saw that it only healed you to 10/20 Hp, they panicked.

"Oh nononononono! Why isn't it working???"

Before you could explain that your body was to used to green fire magic to have a greater effect, they started running out of the room, revealing a purple room, with two stairways, and in between those stairways there was a patch of orange-red leaves, but what shocked you was that there was something sparkling yellow on top of the leaves. Finally, you decided to speak up.

"H-hey, um, what's... what's your name?"

"Oh, right, I am Toriel, caretaker of the ruins."

"T-Toriel? Can you, um... put me down?"

"But... can you walk, child?"

"I... I don't know... I wanna... see if I can..."

She reluctantly set you down, her hand still on your back in case you fell, and it was a good thing to. You immediately stumbled backward, tripping over your own feet.

"Child! Be careful please..."

After a while of you attempting to walk, she finally thought you could walk by yourself, but she still decided to wrap your legs, hands and parts of your arms in bandages. Finally, you walked over to the sparkly thing. It felt... warm.

"...Toriel?"

"Yes, child?"

"What... what is this yellow thing?" 

You pointed at the sparkle.

"What? Child, are you sure that you are okay? There is nothing yellow in this room... your just pointing at orange-red leaves, child. Do you still need me to carry you?"

"...No... I'm.... fine, Toriel."

"Are you sure? I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I'm just... Concerned... There wasn't anything where you were pointing..."

"Its okay, Toriel. And I'm sure I'm fine."

"I just... You do understand why I'm worried... right, child?"

You did understand

"Yes. I understand, Toriel. But I can assure you, I'm fine."

You were hoping she would believe you this time.

"...Let us move on, then."

She continued to the next room.

"Finally." You quietly whispered.

You went up to the yellow sparkly thing... and you touched it, then some words appeared on a black rectangle. You quietly read them to yourself.

"The shadow of the ruins looms above, filling you with Determination."

Then, two options appeared.

"Save or return..."

You clicked save. Then ore information appeared.

"Chara... LV 1... Ruins- entrance..."

Oh, this reminded you of the things they would put in video games to save your progress... Oh, what was it called... Oh right! Save Points! That what you decided you were going to call the sparkly yellow things. Save Points...

Thinking of the adventure ahead of you... it fills you with Determination.

Chapter Text

You continue from the save point room. You see Toriel standing next to what seemed like a trail and error puzzle, you didn't see any hints.

"Welcome to the Ruins, child. While you are here, there will be many puzzles. I will show you more up ahead, but for this one, you have to click the buttons that are in the darker colored section."

 That made more sense. In the middle was a lighter colored section, but on the sides it was darker.  "Here, I will do this puzzle to give you an example."  She clicked all the switched in the darker sections, then flipped a switch on the wall. The door opened. "Lets continue."

           You followed her into the next room, where you saw a long hallway.

"In this room there are multiple switches you need to flip, but do not worry, child. I have labeled the ones you need to flip, then the door will open."

You saw a switch, but only one switch. You flipped it, and the spikes that had been behind Toriel Wait, why were those there??? went down. You continued to the next part of the hallway. This time, there were two switches. One of them had yellow writing next to it, so you assumed that it was the one you had to click. You flipped the switch and the spikes behind Toriel went away.

"Good job! Let us continue, then."

           Toriel left the room and you followed her into the next room. In that room, you saw what looked like a training dummy.

"Unfortunately, since you are a human monsters will try to attack to take your soul."

"Yeah, uh, about that. Why do they want my soul?" You said.

You had heard about the mages sealing monsters underground a long time ago because apparently the monsters had been planning a attack on the humans??? You highly doubted that. Another reason for you to hate humanity, they do anything to make themselves seem more innocent. You do wish you knew the true story, though.

"Because... well... monsters need seven human souls to break the barrier. More... other humans have come before you... then they left and... each time monsters were one soul closer to breaking the barrier... no matter how hard I try to stop them..."

Monsters had killed more humans before you... well, you couldn't blame them. You only have to sacrifice seven to save an entire race... why wouldn't you? It was sad that some of them were children though, at least from what you had heard before. Children don't have to do what current adults do when they are older. They can still be taught to be better.

"In fact, there have been six humans before so they only need you one more..."

You were the last one they needed...

"I'm sorry, child I... got lost in my thoughts... anyway l-lets continue."

She took a deep breath.

Maybe you shouldn't have asked...

"This is a training dummy. Monsters will encounter you and you will enter a fight. During a fight, you will have four options, you can fight, act, use an item, or use mercy. Why don't you try talking to the dummy? Monsters can be swayed with words and if you use the right action, you will be able to spare them. When their names turn yellow, that means you can use mercy and spare. If the fight becomes to dangerous, and you are at low Hp, you can either use and item to regain Hp, or you can flee. Now, try talking to the dummy."

You walked up to the dummy and entered a fight. You clicked act, and chose talk.

"Um... What- What kind of books do you like???"

" . . . "

The dummy didn't seem much for talking. You clicked act again, but then you saw that his name was yellow. You went to Mercy instead, and clicked spare.

"Good job, child! For different monsters, you will have to do different actions."

She continued into the next room.

    The room looked like a empty hallway, except when you looked farther ahead, you saw spikes. LOTS of spikes. What was with this place and spikes???

"There is a puzzle ahead... I wonder... could you solve it on your own...?"

 Oh hell no. You would die. You walked up to Toriel and grabbed on to her arm.

"My child? Are you okay?"

You were surprised that she called you her child for a moment but then remembered to answer her.

"Toriel I can't do that puzzle by myself. I only have 20 max hp. And with my luck, I'd only be stepping on the spikes."

"Only 20 Hp? Even the children who fell down had more Hp than that."

Oh no. Oh god no. Children aren't supposed to have that much Hp. The only way to have that much HP is- You looked around the room. Don't monsters turn to dust when they die? This room is so dusty... Someone having more Hp than they're supposed to... Never mind what you were thinking earlier. You no longer felt bad that those children were killed.

"T-that-at's weir-rd."

"It's okay my child! There's no need to be afraid of the puzzle anymore, I am here to help!"

She must have thought you were stuttering because you were afraid of the upcoming puzzle. You two were almost at the puzzle when you were encountered by a monster.

  "Froggit hoped close!"

You heard someone- or maybe something, shout from behind you. You whirled around, looking for the source of the voice, only to see nothing. You were confused, but decided it was more important to focus on the battle. You turned back around, looking at the four buttons in front of you. A memory flashed in your eyes.

"You're to weak. In this world, its kill or be killed."

"Pathetic. A pacifist? No. It's Kill or Be Killed in this world, after all."

"In this world, It's KILL or BE KILLED!"

You remember everyone on the surface were always fighting to be the strongest. You were so badly hurt so often. It was so common sometimes it was just... ignored. It wasn't to uncommon to see someone begging for their life, at least, where you had lived and grown up. You almost clicked on the Fight option, ready to use your fire magic. But that wasn't you. You didn't want to fight. You just wanted to... maybe mack it back to the surface? Maybe there was a way... The underground... it wasn't somewhere you wanted to stay, especially if you were going to be in fights all the time. Maybe you could Save everyone else to? You could live with Toriel on the surface... No. You decided. You weren't going to kill anyone, you refused. Your hand went to act, and you complimented it. Toriel came in and stared down at the Froggit. It lowered it's head and ran away.

    She took a deep breath, and then sighed. Well. That wasn't good.

"You have done well so far... but I have a... difficult request to ask of you."

No. No. No. This place has been bad enough with all the spikes and flowers Flowey. You don't want something difficult, You just want a moment of peace, like when you were talking to the ghost after you fell the first time...

"I need you to.. walk to the end of the hallway..."

You were confused. A difficult request? Walking to the end of the hallway wasn't difficult. You didn't even see anything ahead of you. And if a monster were to encounter you Toriel would help you so you didn't get hurt.

  "...By yourself..."

What? No! You... You can't! You don't want to be alone! You... what if a monster encounters you? You'll get hurt! You- You could die! You don't wanna die! Not again!

"Forgive me for this, child..."

She was way to quick. And it caught you totally off guard.

"T-Toriel! W-wait! Don't l-leave me!"

"I am sorry! But I must."

She left. She left you all alone. Just like everyone did. You felt tears build up in your eyes.

"She left me. Just like all of them. Just like mom and dad. Just like my 'friends'. She was no different."

You were mad. You felt like crying. You felt alone.

And yet...

You continued.

"Not again. Not again. Not again. I'm not letting this happen again."

You continued forward. You didn't get an encounter yet which seemed-

"!"

Speak of the devil.

"Rikki stepped forward!"

Who was saying that? Never mind, you need to focus on the battle. Rikki looked like a fox and lion mix. They were the size of a fox, and mostly looked like a fox, but they had a small lions mane and a lions tail, along with a third eye on they're forehead, with the other two eyes closed. You went to the act option. The four options were check, roar, pet, and imitate. You didn't really want to roar at them... you tried to pet them, and instantly regretted it. They snapped back and bit your hand.

"Ow!"

You sucked your breath through your teeth. Rikki had really sharp teeth.

It was their turn now. They roared at you, causing waves to ripple at you.

"What the!"

The battlefield was really wobbly now. It was hard to stand up straight. You saw what looked like claws digging up from the ground, but before they came up a little box with a "!" would pop up where it was coming from. Two popped up right in front of you, causing you to stumble backwards and trip over your own feet. You landed on your back with a thud. A big box with a "!" in the center popped up underneath you. The battle field was still all wobbly. You quickly tried to get out of the way, but you were to late. One of the claws launched up and tore through your leg.

You screamed.

Finally, the attack ended. You clicked on act. Obviously don't pet them... Maybe roar at them, to intimidate them? You selected the roar option, and roared as loud as you could. Ouch, your poor ears. It sounded more like a scream than a roar, but it worked well enough.

"Rikki felt intimidated! Now's your chance!"

Who was that??? Never mind, it doesn't matter! You clicked on act, and chose pet.

You crawled toward Rikki, and raised your hand toward their head.

They backed away and curled into a ball.

"Don't h-hurt me! I'm s-sorry!"

You lowered your hand to their hand and pet them. They looked very surprised and then smiled, a little.

"T-thank you."

You went to mercy, and clicked spare.

(You earned 8 G, 0 EXP!)

Despite how much your leg hurt, you had to continue on. Eventually, you made it to where the end of the room was, and Toriel came out from behind a pillar. She saw your new wound on your leg and gasped.

"Oh my stars! I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have left you alone I..."

"It's fine, Toriel. I made it out alive, that's all that matters, right?"

"I suppose so... Never mind,  the reason I made you take that test in the first place was to test your independence. I... suppose you don't like being alone?"

"I have always struggled with that. I developed Monophobia at a young age."

"Well... I must leave you alone for a while, but! The Rikki you encountered before can stay with you, keep you company. I was not expecting guests, so I must go clean my house now. Oh! Right, I have a phone for you."

Toriel handed you a phone that had her number on it.

"If something happens and you need me, just call me. I will be able to answer the phone and will immediately come. I will see you soon, my child."

And with that, she left the room. You sat down and waited. Rikki just kind of sat there, looking at their friends playing around.

"You can go play with them... If! You don't tell Toriel that I'm going to leave the room."

Rikki nodded and hopped over to their friends.

       A few steps out of the room and you got a call.

"...Hello? This is Toriel."

"Hi Toriel, its me."

"Oh, good. I just realized have not asked you your name, what is your name?"

"Y/N."

"Ok, good to know. Anyway, I was just calling to check if I put in the right number and to make sure you hadn't left the room yet. You haven't, have you?"

"No, I haven't." "Oh, good! Well, my child, I shall see you soon enough!" You noted in the back of your head that she called you "My child" Instead of the normal "Child" She hung up and you continued forward into the room, where you saw a monster... it looked sort of like a frog. It didn't seem to dangerous, you didn't think it was going to attack you so you approached the frog monster.

"Excuse me, human."

You were worried because it knew you were a human. It seemed like it could sense that you were afraid.

"Oh, do not worry, I am not going to attack you. I just wanted to give advice when battling other monsters."

"...What is your advice?"

"Well, you know that monsters can attack you, correct?"

"Yeah." 

"Well, there are multiple ways you can spare them. You can either do it the better, less dangerous way by acting, or you can fight them until they're Hp is low."

"Oh. Well... Um thank for the advice."

"It is my pleasure, human. I just hope... that you're not like the others... please human... if a monster doesn't want to fight you... use some mercy, human."

That was your plan. You didn't really wanna hurt anyone so you were just going to act until you could spare them. You saw a save point in a pile of leaves. You put your hand through it. it felt so warm...

"Playfully Crinkling through the leaves fills you with Determination."

The info now read, you said it out loud to yourself "Chara... LV 1... Ruins- Leaf Pile..."

Thinking of the adventure ahead fills you with-

"Why are you talking to yourself?"

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK!"

Well... Thinking of the adventure ahead of you... it fills you with Determination.

Chapter Text

You looked around and saw no one.

"Wow you have a loud scream, dont'cha? Just calm down, I was confused, that's all. No need to freak out- No seriously calm down!"

You... You recognize their voice. They were the one who had talked to you before. Do... do they not remember you? No... You need someone to remember what happened.

"Hey... whats wro-"

They paused as if realizing something.

"Oh. Its you, huh? Heh, I knew you had enough determination."

"Y-you remember!?"

"Yeah, of course I do. Oh. Wait, heh. You... dont... well, it better if you dont know..."

"Where... where are you? Whats your name? How did you die? How are you still here, talking to me if your dead? Can you talk to other monsters?"

"Woah there, okay, gimme a minute..."

Aaaand you overwhelmed them with questions.

"Okay, so. I'm right in front of you, my name is Chara, that's a long story that I'd rather not tell right now, I don't know how I'm talking to you, and no, I cant talk to monsters, I've been... 'Sleeping' this whole time, I only just now woke up."

Okay, that answers your questions.

"Okay but-"

"No. Just no. There are no other questions I'm willing to answer right now. You're wasting your time. You'd better get a move on now."

" "W-wait! Please! Don't leave me! I don't wanna be alone!"

You don't wanna be alone again !

" Please..."

Your voice was shaking. You'd been alone for so long. It was bad enough when Toriel left, but now Chara was gone to... You hear a loud sigh.

"...Ok. But I probably won't talk much."

"Yes! Thank you Chara! But can you... uh... show yourself? I can't see you... if its possible, then please?"

You heard another loud sigh before you saw someone who looked about your size, maybe a bit taller, appear in front of you.

They looked somewhat similar to you, but there were definitely some major differences. For example, your hoodie that you were wearing and two pinkish purplish stripes (But the top of the stripes looked like fire) near the top, while the rest was a light blue color. But Chara's hoodie had a yellow stripe (Again, the top looked like fire) going through the middle, while the rest was green.

They had short brown hair that only reached their shoulder's, much like yours, but their hair had a bit darker brown then yours. (The memory of cutting your hair when you were about 14 just to make your parents mad because they said that 'long hair is the only hair for girls, and short hair is the only hair for boys' runs through your head) They had dark red eyes and a little circular blush on each of their cheeks, and a small smile on their face. You had light brown eyes with a straight face on at all times. (You remember your parents telling you to 'always wear a pretty smile, maybe the people around you will notice that instead of your ugly brown eyes and ugly brown hair' Then they had laughed.

They had told you straight to your face that if they had a chance, they would replace you with a a girl who had bright blue eyes, blond hair and a pretty smile. From then on, you always wore either a straight face or a frown. You hated them and they hated you. You frowned a little at the memory.)

"Hey, partner, are you okay?"

You snapped out of your thought when you heard Chara.

"Yeah... yeah I'm fine. Let's just move on now."

"Whatever you say, partner..."

       You moved away from the save point and started to walk down, when you heard Chara speak.

"Hey, uh, why don't we check in the room back there?"

"Ok."

Was all you said as you turned around. You started to walk forward when-

"!"

You stumbled backwards, caught by surprise.

"Froggit hopped close!"

You suddenly heard Chara shout.

"I-I- I didn't mean to say that!"

They said as a red blush appeared on their face. It was a real blush, not the one that was permanently stuck on their face.

"Pfff- Hahahaha!"

They pulled up their hood and you confirmed in your mind that they had cat ears attached to the hood.

It was funny how they were getting embarrassed for shouting 'Froggit hopped close!'.

"(Y/N)! Be careful! Froggit might attack! I know Mo- Toriel probably already told you what to do? You... Can either fight, or act."

They said, sounding reluctant to say that you can fight. But, of course, you're not gonna fight. You're a pacifist. You went to the act option.

"You can either Check, Compliment or Threaten them Threaten them, they might get scared and run away!"

You barely heard them whisper to you to threaten the poor thing. They already looked sad, why would you do that!?

"No! I am not going to threaten the poor monster!"

"They're trying to kill you! If you threaten them they might run away and you will be safe! It's not like it gonna kill them! Wait why are they trying to kill you? Monster's don't do that. "

" I don't care! I'm going to give them a compliment!"

"Hold on-"

"No! I'm. giving. them. a. compliment."

"That's not what I-"

"Then what do you mean!? You literally just told me to threaten it!"

"If you would just-"

"No! Why should I listen if you told me to-"

" SHUT UP! J U S T   L I S T E N   T O   M E ! "

You instantly fell quiet.

"I'm sorry for yelling but you weren't going to listen otherwise. Now, the only reason I was trying to talk to you is because I'm worried about you. I doubt you've ever dodged monster magic, so I have an idea. I have... Quite a bit of experience with dodging. Any type of magic, I'll dodge it. I've dodged human's and monster's. So, I wanna see how well you dodge on your first turn. But if you do really bad, then I might be able to find a way to step in and do the dodging myself. So, how about it, Partner?"

Chara extended their hand out to you. You took their hand. Well, you tried to at least.

"Well that wasn't as cool as I had hoped it would be..."

You thought aloud.

"Pfft- Hahahaha! You- You thought- Pfff Hahahaha! You thought that taking my hand would be c-cool!? Hahahahaha!"

Chara could barely contain their laughter when they were talking, so, of course the moment they were done talking they just burst out laughing.

"Hey! It's always cool in the action movies! So I thought it would be cool!"

"Whatever, lets just move on. Try to compliment it then try your very best to dodge the attacks sent your way."

"Mhm!"

You clicked on the compliment option.

"Your eyes are, uh, very pretty...?"

"Froggit didn't understand what you said, but was flattered anyway."

A cute, dark green blush appeared on the Froggit's cheeks and nose. You squealed loudly.

"OOOOHHH MAH STARS!!! THAT IS THE CUTEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEEENNNN!!!" 

Chara chuckled. They were amused by your reaction to a Froggit blushing.

"AHHHHH!"

Chara flinched when they heard you scream, their eyes widened.

"AHHH!!! NOOOO YOU'RE SO CUTE WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO HURT MEEEE!?!?"

You were dodging. But not really. In reality, you were dodging right into the bullets. The attack finally ended, and you let out a huge sigh of relief. You had lost half of your Hp.

"I didn't even know that it was possible to lose that much Hp from a single attack from a Froggit."

Your stats said; Frisk, Lv:1, Hp: 10/20.

"Hahahaha! Yeah, I'm definitely dodging for you next time. Come on, just click spare. His name is yellow which means you can spare him. Now come on, lets go."

You went to Mercy and saw that Spare was highlighted in yellow. You clicked it, and the encounter ended,

"You earned 0 Exp, and 15 G!" Chara told you.

"Ok, now continue forward to the room!" Chara said.

You headed inside the room and saw a bowl of candy, there was a note that said;

"Hello! Please take one, I am hoping every monster in the Ruins will be able to get one! So please, only take one!"

Was written in very fancy cursive writing. You picked up a single piece of candy. You exited the room, and decided to save.

"Playfully crinkling through the leaves fills you with Determination. Chara  Lv:1 Ruins-Leaf Pile."

Chara said aloud.

"Why... Why does it say my name!?"

         Thinking of the adventure ahead... it fills you with Determination.

"Why... why does it say my name!?"

You just realized that it said their name.

"It... it cant be my save file... that file doesn't exist anymore...Right...?"

"Shouldn't it say my name?"

You asked.

"Yes it should... but it has my name instead... Maybe... Maybe we can just... figure this out later. You haven't moved from this room in awhile. Also, try checking that monster candy in your inventory."

You went into your inventory and pulled out the monster candy.

"Monster Candy. Heals 10-25 Hp. Tastes just like normal candy, but is a little bit sweeter."

Chara spoke when you clicked check.

"You got one with a blue wrapper! That means that it heals 15 Hp!"

You turned from the save point, to the way you had been planning to go, before Chara told you to go to the room with the monster candy. But of course, it can't be as easy as just leaving the room.

"!"

"Whimsum approached meekly!"

Chara called out.

"Welp, you don't even have to dodge. You can literally just immediately spare them. Of course, they do look like their about to cry, so you could try to console them but you should terrorize them, maybe they'll runaway..."

Chara really wanted you to terrorize them!?!? REALLY!?

"Are you serious? What did these monster's ever do to you!?"

"Well, I mean, they. are. trying. to. kill. you. Do you not understand? I would be furious if you killed any of them, but just terrorizing it so that it will flee and then nobody will get hurt... Doesn't that make more sense?"

"If I terrorize this... poor Whimsum, then will you stop telling me to be mean to them? Any monster in general, I mean."

"Yeah, I promise, just terrorize it with your words. Go to act, there should be an option to terrorize."

You clicked on the act, and there were three options. Check, Console, and... terrorize. You slouched in defeat, and clicked the terrorize option. With every word you said, the Whimsum only cried more and more tears. When you were finally done, they were on the ground, sobbing. 

"Nooooo don't cry!!!" You said.

"Ok! You should be able to spare it now! Go to mercy!"

No! You felt bad! They were gonna make you cry! You quickly clicked on act, then console. Their tears became slower as you spoke, until it was just a tear falling every ten seconds. You still weren't happy with that.

"Hey what are you- if you're gonna continue the fight then do you want me to-"

Chara was about to ask if you wanted them to dodge instead of you, but in the end, the attack was that it was a circle of butterfly's that would go a little inwards, towards you, then they would go back out again, and it wouldn't even touch you if you stayed still. After the attack was over, you went back to the act option and clicked on console again. When you were done talking, it was smiling!

"Th-thank you..." they said.

You went over to the Mercy option, and clicked spare

"You earned 0 Exp and 20 G!"

      You entered the next room, and saw what looked like an unavoidable trap. There were three rows going up, two rows going to the right. You couldn't walk around or past it. You stepped on it and...

"Eek!"

You fell through. Once you hit the ground, it actually turned out to be that you landed on a pile of leaves which stopped you from taking any damage. You saw two doors. One leaded to the said you had just been on, and the other lead to the side you had been trying to get to. Of course, you entered the one that lead to the place you had been trying to go.

     When you walked into the next room, your phone started to ring.

"Hello? This is Toriel. For no reason in particular... Which do you prefer? Cinnamon or Butterscotch?"

You answered with the flavor you like more.

"Oh I see, thank you very much!"

She hung up. You only walked two steps forward when your phone started to ring again.

"Sorry, I realized I needed to ask this as soon as I hung up. Now I know you prefer (Insert Cinna or Bscotch whichever you like more) but if you found (Cinna or Bscotch whichever you like less) on your plate would you turn up your nose? In other words, do you still like (Cinna or Bscotch whichever you like less)?"

"Yes I do."

You answered.

"Oh, that is good! Thank you my child!"

She hung up. You smiled widely. She called you her child! You... you have a mother who actually cares about you and what you want! You went on your phone and Chara told you something you can say to her.

"You can just say hi, you can ask them to tell something about herself, you can... call them mom... And finally you can... FLIRT!?"

Chara had a huuuuuge blush on her face. And you. decided. to taunt them with the flirt option.

"I'm gonna flirt~"

"DON'T YOU DARE! SHE JUST CALLED YOU HER CHILD!!!"

"I'm gonna fliiirrrt~~"

"(Y/N)! DON'T. YOU. DARE."

"Awwww, come onnnn!"

"(Y/N) Please..."

"Fineeeee I won't flirt, but I am gonna... call her... mom...."

You clicked on Toriel's contact and pressed call.

"Hello my child?"

She called you their child again!

"He-hey... um I, uh, wanted to... ask you something..."

"What it is, my child?"

"I, uh, noticed you were calling me your child and... wanted to ask if... I could maybe... call you mom?"

You heard a huge gasp and what sounded like glass shattering through the phone.

"I-if you don't want me to... that-that's fine!"

You quickly said.

"No, that's not why I... Yes, you can call me mom, if you wish to... m-my child?"

You were quietly crying. Now it was really like you had a mom who cared about you, who cared about what you thought, and who cared about what you wanted.

"My child! Are you okay!? Do you want me to-"

"N-no... I'm fine. I'm better then fine, actually! I'm just... happy, thank you... mom."

"Of course, my child."

                                                                                                                -Toriel's perspective-

She had been working on cleaning up the room for you, she was excited about you staying here! She finally wasn't going to be alone anymore! And she could protect you, make sure you wouldn't get hurt because of him... She finished fixing the bed, and walked out of the room. She decided she was going to bake a pie for you! Snail pie probably wouldn't be the best welcoming pie... The other children she had given it to nearly threw up when they ate it... Best not to do that then! She would just make her second favorite pie that the other children had liked then! Butterscotch-Cinnamon pie! Oh, but which should she use more of? She always asked the children which they liked more and would put more of that in the pie then the other flavor... or what if you didn't like one of those flavor's like the brave child... They hadn't liked Butterscotch, so she had to make a only cinnamon pie then! She decided to call you!

       "Hello? This is Toriel. For no reason in particular... Which do you prefer? Cinnamon or Butterscotch?"

You answered with (Insert Cinna or Bscotch). Okay then, she would make a Butterscotch Cinnamon pie that had more (Insert Cinna or Bscotch) in it! She walked a single step forward before she realized that you might not like (Insert Cinna or Bscotch, whichever you like less)!

"Sorry, I realized I needed to ask this as soon as I hung up. Now I know you prefer (Insert Cinna or Bscotch whichever you like more) but if you found (Cinna or Bscotch whichever you like less) on your plate would you turn up your nose? In other words, do you still like (Cinna or Bscotch whichever you like less)?"

"Yes I do." You answered.

"Oh, that is good! Thank you my child!"

She hung up.

"Dodododo Dodododo."

She was singing her theme as she was washing a plate. When suddenly.

"Dadada-dadaaa-daaaaaaa"

She heard the ringtone she had set for you playing.

"Hello my child?"

She asked.

"He-hey... um I, uh, wanted to... ask you something..."

"What it is, my child?"

"I, uh, noticed you were calling me your child and... wanted to ask if... I could maybe... call you mom?"

The plate she had been washing fell from her hands and shattered across the floor as she gasped.

"I-if you don't want me to... that-that's fine!"

You quickly said.

"No, that's not why I... Yes, you can call me mom, if you wish to... m-my child?"

She heard a quiet cry through the phone as tears were forming in her eyes.

"My child! Are you okay!? Do you want me to-"

"N-no... I'm fine. I'm better then fine, actually! I'm just... happy, thank you... mom."

"Of course, my child."

You hung up. She started to quietly cry. None of the children who fell ever let her call them her child...and yet you... you asked to call her mom! She was so happy. And yet... it only brought sad memories. Memories when [REDACTED] were still... She grabbed broom and swept up the glass then put it in the garbage. Once she was done with that, she grabbed the tin for the pie and gathered up the ingredients (Which took awhile) and started to make the pie (Which took even longer). Once she had finished that she put the pie in the oven and used fire magic to cook it. She sighed and went to Chariel to read.

                                                                                                                    -Your perspective again-

You got into an encounter with a Froggit and Chara wanted you to dodge it, to 'Improve your dodging skills' but they promised if you did bad again that they would dodge the next monster that encountered you. You ended out with 14 Hp. After one attack. It was better than 10 Hp though! Improvement! But you still did bad so Chara promised they would dodge the next monster that attacked you. Chara said that you need to get more Hp but that you shouldn't waste the monster candy so you should just go back to the last save point you were at and then just go back to the room that you were at. Just before you reached the save point another Froggit encountered you.

"Want me to handle this one, partner?"

"Yes! Please Chara, help meeee!"

"Hahaha! You don't need to beg ya know! Know, lets see if I can..."

You don't know how, but Chara somehow managed to take over your body and soul. It was like you were the ghost now!

"Woah, this is so weird!" You said.

"It's weird not being a ghost after I've been one for so long, but I know I can still dodge just fine!"

Chara said with a huge grin. You just realized Chara didn't take your body, just your soul. They looked like themself, not you. But you just realized they were wearing what looked like a... golden heart shaped locket? You just realized that if Chara wanted to, they could threaten the Froggit! Oh no! Chara went to the act option and complimented the Froggit.

"Your smile could outshine the stars in waterfall!"

You were very surprised. It seemed to show on your face because Chara started to talk to you.

"What? Did you not trust me, Partner? I take my promises very seriously, if I'm ever in control, I promise I won't threaten them or terrorize them."

The Froggit's attack's started to come after Chara, but they dodged the flies with ease. When the attack ended, they had 14/20 Hp! That was how much they had started with! They didn't get hit a single time!!! Chara wore a proud grin as they spared the Froggit.

"You earned 0 Exp and 20 G!"

You suddenly shouted. You didn't even mean to! You felt a blush started to form on your cheeks and nose.

"See what I mean!? I keep shouting that whenever you complete a battle and I don't even try to!"

Chara let you take back control and you went to the save point. It said the same thing as before.

"Playfully crinkling through the leaves fills you with Determination." Chara read aloud.

You and Chara headed back to the room with the one rock you already pushed. But not without getting encountered by a Froggit. Chara said that since you had 20/20 hp, you should try it yourself instead. When it ended, you had 16/20 hp. You were so happy! You continued on from that room, and in the next you saw... another trial and error puzzle. Well, this was just great. Every space was covered in what looked like a part of a net. You stepped on a random spot, and fell through. You fell onto a pile of leaves, next to an empty pathway. Down near the end of the pathway, you saw a sign.

'I wonder what it says... maybe I should head over there'?

So, you headed over to the sign, carelessly stepping on the leaves. It made it easier to get over there, it was quicker.

"Please don't step on the leaves, they're hard to clean up. -Toriel"

You read out loud to yourself. You looked over at a rake that was leaned against the wall, then at the leaves you had scattered across the neat, clean pathway. You grabbed the rake and got to work cleaning up the leaves. Once everything was neat, you headed back up.

       Why. Was this. So. HARD!? You had been trying to solve this puzzle for at least 10 minutes, you couldn't really tell what time it was, though. There were no clocks in this place! But, you could guess it was late at night or early in the morning, you were very tired. Or maybe it was just cause you were tired of this puzzle. Once again, you fell through. Why did you always fall on the leaves though? Weren't you not supposed to step on them? The only time you didn't fall though was when it was where the leave's weren't- oh. 

'I am such an IDIOT!'

How did you not realize? You were supposed to step where the leaves weren't. So, you went back up and, surprise! It worked.

      In this room, there were not one, not two, but three rocks that you had to push. You went to the top of the three and pushed it on the platform, then stopped for a minute.

'These three plus the other one would mean four rocks, wasn't there a sign that said something like three out of four... recommend something?'

You continued to the next, pushing to the platform. You went to the third and final rock. You were about to push it when-

"WOAH there partner! Dont ya know its rude to push people around?"

It... talked? The rock... talked?

"Uhhhh."

You didn't know what to say. You were... very confused? Why didn't the other three ask you to not push them? And them not being able to talk wouldn't make sense... If one of them are able to talk then shouldn't all of them be able to? Wait... if rocks can talk and are alive then... would that mean the stones and bricks that make up this place can to? Your brain is buffering.. Have you been walking on something that is alive this whole time!?

"-an hear me! Hey! Come on, I know you can hear me! Listen to me when I'm talkin' to ya!"

Oh. Oops. You had been so lost in thought you hadn't heard them talking.

"Oh- uh sorry! I just... got lost in thought!"

"Well maybe you should attention when someone's talkin' to ya!"

They were right. You had to admit that. But finding out rocks are alive is kinda shocking!

"And ya know, i was even thinking of movin' for ya so you could across." He grumbled quietly.

"Wait! No! I need to get across! Please!"

"To bad, you'll have ta' find another way out."

Maybe you could jump it? They weren't taller then you, they were actually kind of small? Probably the size of your boot. But they were laid out so you couldn't just step over them... and you likely couldn't jump over either. But, you were willing to try! You backed up, hoping that if you got a running start maybe you would actually be able to make it over.

"No- I know what you're trying to do- don't you dare. It's a stupid idea, it won't work. Do you have a death wish? Seriously- (Y/N)- Don't do it (Y/N)!"

You had slowly been backing up the whole time, then. You ran as fast as you could. You saw the spikes in front of you and jumped.

"(Y/N)!!!"

You heard Chara scream your name.

Your boot had caught on one of the spikes, causing your body to slam down into the spikes. Blood was running down from your mouth. You couldn't move. You couldn't see. You could barely speak. You could only hear.

"ugh...please... help... make it... stop." You desperately spoke.

Your words were barely intelligible. Your whole body burned. Tears were running from your eyes.

"I... can't... please... help... someone..." You begged.

"Welp, looks like its time ta call for someone to take your soul. I know I wouldn't be able to get it to someone before it shattered..."

The rock muttered to itself. He finally moved to the platform, causing the spikes (And you) to lower to the floor. You couldn't muster up the energy to make your healing fire, and even then you don't think it would be enough to save you. You felt your conscious fading...

     Your eyes flew open as you gasped for air. Where... where are you? It was empty. Just nothing. Just pure black as far as you could see. But then a familiar voice called out.

"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!?"

You spun around to Chara and took a step back.

"I warned you not to- I just-"

They let out a heavy sigh.

"I just didn't want you to get hurt..."

"I know it was reckless but its fine! See? I'm fine! I'll just go back again."

"Seriously?"

"What do you mean?"

"Did you just... do it out of curiosity then? Because you knew you would be fine, you knew you could just go back and do it again, without consequences?"

"What? I- I mean... I guess so? It's not like anyone was hurt, everything's fine, nobody will remember it..."

"Are you kidding me? You're just gonna toy with their lives, because you can? You're just gonna abuse the power that was given to you, thinking you'll get off scot-free?"

"Chara, I..."

"No. I'm done for now. You'll be alone for a little while. I'm not gonna help you anymore for awhile. Here's one last thing so you don't make that mistake again; White fire magic can make a bridge."

That was the last thing you heard before they disappeared into the darkness. But when you turned a little more, you saw something. Actually, two somethings, to be exact. Two bright orange-yellow buttons. One said RESET, while the other said CONTINUE. The reset one... it gave you a bad feeling, so you clicked on continue instead, and the black was being engulfed by a bright burning white...

     You gasped. You were... back at your last save point. You sat there, remembering what happened, what Chara said. You didn't understand what the issue was! Nobody remembered so... But, you didn't want to be alone not again... You were scared. You went to nearest corner you saw, and sat down and waited. You pulled your hood over your head as tears started dripping down from your eyes. So you waited. And waited. And waited... Until. You heard a voice.

"Hey, partner, you ok? You've been sitting there crying for awhile. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you, I'm ready to go with you again, if you want. Just... don't do something like that again, alright? Otherwise I will stay away for longer than a half an hour."

"Can we just... talk for a little while?"

You said as you stood up.

"Yeah, of course, partner."

You and Chara were talking for awhile and he entire time you had been talking with them, you had been walking back to the room with the three rocks. You hadn't been paying attention and you fell.

"AHHH!" You screamed.

You hadn't been ready, and had walked on one of the wrong spots for the puzzle with the pathway of leaves on the bottom floor. But, of course, the leaves cushioned your fall. But, it did help in the end. You hadn't memorized the right pathway, so seeing it when you fell helped. You went back up, and managed to only fall one other time. You went up again, and managed to get through. You started chatting with Chara again when-

"[ ! ]" 

"Froggit hopped close!" Chara shouted.

"Do you want me to handle this, or do you want to try?"

"Well I think we should take turns, and I handled the last one, so you should do this one."

"Sounds good, partner."

You switched places again, and Chara went to act. They clicked compliment, and by now you trusted that Chara wouldn't try to threaten.

     You finally made it back to the room with the three rocks, and instead of pushing them you just summoned a bridge of white fire that went right over the spikes. You got rid of the bridge and continued into the next room. You saw a save point!

"Yes!"

'Knowing the mouse might one day leave its hole and get the cheese... it fills you with determination.'    You pressed the save option, and more information popped up.

"Its still so weird that it says my name..." Chara said.

You nodded your head. It was strange that it didn't say your own name...

                        Thinking of the adventure ahead of you... it fills you with Determination.

You continued onto the next room. You saw a ghost in the middle of a leaf pile. He looked like he was sleeping. You didn't want to disturb his sleep so you summoned a little bridge of white fire above him. But instead of just staying asleep, he woke up and pulled you into an encounter.

"just want to take a nap..." he grumbled.

Red tears fell down from his eyes, but there were so many of them! But you were confused you had only seen pure white attacks before...? Suddenly, you had no control over your body. It was like you were being pushed out of control. Just like when Chara would...

"Chara! What are you doing!?" You yelled.

"Making sure you don't get hurt!" Chara shouted back.

They dodged without getting hit even once. Then, they let you back in control.

"Listen, before you start acting, I need to tell you about red attacks. They are more dangerous than the attacks you've seen so far. Instead of taking away a few points, like if you started with 20/20  Hp, and ended with 17/20 Hp, for red attacks, you would start with 20/20 Hp, and end with 17/17 Hp. Do you understand? Red attacks take away max Hp, which you can never get back unless you earn LoVe, and we do not want to do that. Got it?"

You nodded your head.

"Good. Now, do you want me to do this fight? It might be dangerous."

"I... I think I can handle it."

"No. You have to know you can handle it. I don't want you getting hurt. Do you know that you can handle this?"

"Yes. I know I can handle this."

"Good. Then I will let you handle this. But the moment I see that you are running low on energy or are to close to getting hit, I take over. Now, It's your turn. You got this. I believe in you."

Chara backed away. You clicked on act, and saw four options. There was check, insult, cheer, and... make friends. Well, that was new. Of course, you didn't always get the same options for every fight, but this was different. It had a shining rainbow glow over it. You tried to click on it but a little message popped up in front of your face.

'Correct actions have not been selected yet. You must be able to spare an enemy before making friends with the enemy.'

That was interesting. You clicked on cheer.

You smiled at napstablook.

Napstablook looked surprised for a second before going back to having a small scowl.

"dont care... what you do... not gonna be your friend... just... wanna nap..."

Something else new popped up to. Above napstablooks head was a mostly white bar, but to the left a third of it was turned green. Above it, it said MERCY %. Oh! That was how close you were to being able to spare him!

The red tears formed a box-like shape around you, which was slowing closing in. You curled up into a ball, and his attack ended just before it hit you.

You stood up and sighed. You clicked on act again, and, once again, choose cheer.

"How do ghosts unlock a door? With a spoo-key!" You said a really bad joke without even thinking about it.

You realized how bad of a joke you just made and blushed a little.

"hehe..."

"Haha!"

Chara and Napstablooks voices overlapped.

"Why are you laughing? That was horrible!" You said to Chara.

"Well, I thought it was funny!" Chara blushed a little bit, and not just the circles of pink on their cheeks, they actually blushed.

You were surprised for moment, then laughed with Chara.

"Hahahaha!" You were both laughing.

"Ok, now get back to the fight!" Chara said.

"Mhm!" You nodded your head, and turned back to napstablook.

"nice one..."

Napstablooks tears, now mostly white and a little red, floated up.

"i wanna... show you something..." He said, with the edges of his scowl slightly turned up.

As his tears floated up they slowly started forming a fedora!

"do... you like it...?" He asked.

You clicked act, then cheer.

"I love it!" You said.

"hehehe... you're really nice." He said.

You saw the mercy bar at max!

You went back to act, and clicked on make friends, which was shining even brighter than before.

"Do you... wanna be my friend?" You asked him.

He looked surprised for a moment, then blushed a very light shade of gray.

"w-well... fine..." despite the way he had said it, he looked happy.

The encounter ended.

(You earned 15 FSP, and 15 G! You gained one FSL!)

"well... i'm gonna go take a nap... somewhere else. i'll get out of you're way."

You felt the urge to check your LV.

Your LV menu popped up in front of you. But... it no longer said LV. Instead, it said FSL. You checked your 'FSL'.

'FSL. FSL stands for FriendShip Level. The more monsters you 'make friend''s with, the higher your FSL will be.'

Your current FSL was two.

You didn't want to lose this progress. You headed back into the room before and saved.

                                                                                         PART ONE: CHARACTER REDESIGNS

Okay! So I've changed a bit of how the character's look! First off,

• Frisk/Reader

So Frisk/Reader's character outfit is now a hoodie with the normal looking shirt design, but the tops of the stripe's look like fire. She had dark brown short's with black tights underneath. She wears plain brown boots with white fuzz on the inside. The hoodie is not a zip-up its a pullover, and the shirt underneath is a plain black tank top with a little pan flag patch on it in the left corner. She wears a black glove on her right hand, it cover's almost her whole hand but skips the pointer finger. Her hair is in a bob cut, as per usual, but it's a little bit shorter than original Frisk's haircut. She has dark brown eye's and most of the time would have a pretty straight face, but that may change...

• Chara

So Chara's design is pretty similar to Frisk/Reader's with a few difference's. They also wear a pullover hoodie but they have the normal Chara shirt design. but, once again, has a bit of a fire like design near the top of the stripe. They also have light brown short's with grey tights underneath. They wear a plain black shirt underneath their hoodie but the back says; 'LET'S GET ONE THING STRAIGHT; I'M NOT'. They wear Black boots with grey fuzz on the inside. They wear a black glove on their left hand, it cover's almost their whole hand but skips the pointer finger. Their hair is a dark brown bob cut. They have dark red eye's and are smiling most of the time, but it's not always because of a happy reason... They have a circular blush on each cheek.

• Toriel

She wears a black jacket (with black fuzz on the inside) and has a purple shirt on underneath which has the Deltarune symbol on it. She wears plain black pants. She has greyed out reddish eyes.

• Napstablook

He is a mostly white ghost but he fades into grey near the end. He sometimes wears a fedora.

• Flowey

He looks about the same, but his petal's fade into black (And there is a reason). He is normally covered in a thin layer of grey dust.

                                                                             PART TWO: PRONOUNS AND SEXUALITY'S 

• Frisk/Reader

Pronouns are She/Her, and she is pan-sexual!

• Chara

Pronouns are They/Them and they are Bisexual with a preference of girls!

• Toriel

Pronouns are She/Them and she is straight ally.

• Napstablook

They are gender-queer but generally she is called he/him. He is pan-sexual. 

• Flowey

So it's different when he's in his normal form, normally he'd be gender fluid but Flowey is a bit... different. Anyways, His pronouns are He/Him, and he is aromantic (of course, he cant feel love.)

                                                                                          PART THREE: OTHER

So this is just other stuff I'm gonna talk about. Yeah. So, first off, we could have a Q&A? Just ask question's and they will be answered! Also, uh, should I have any canon ships other than Alphdyne? And NO SHIPS WITH SANS. I already have something planned for him. So yeah. No shipping sans with anyone other wise tell me who should be a canon ship if any. And, of course, no shipping undyne or alphys with anyone because they are already gonna be a cute lesbian couple. Chapter Text

You continued into the next room where you had encountered Napstablook. You saw two pathways, one leading straight from where Napstablook had been, and one the went to your left. You decided to try the path that went straight from where Napstablook had been. When you walked in, you saw that it was clearly a dead end. You saw two spider webs and a sign. You read the sign aloud.

"Spider bake sale! All proceeds go to real spiders! Their really good~! Ahuhuhu~!"

You looked over at the webs behind the sign. You saw multiple spiders waiting in front of a hole in the wall, with a web in front acting as a door.

"E-eek!"

You backed away a little. You had never liked spiders. Bad memories. Your parents kinda forced the phobia onto you. They would always retaliate with spiders if you did something wrong. You shivered at the memory of one of the times you had accidentally broken something glass- a coffee cup, you remember, and then they got some spiders- you had no idea from where- and then placed them on your bed. You did not have a good nights rest

. "Hey, what's wrong?" Chara asked.

"S-spiders!" You responded.

"Spi- oh. Do you have arachnophobia?"

You shakily nodded your head.

"I-it's okay! They might have healing items though, and remember! These are monster spiders, not surface spiders! How about this! I can take over and see what they have! How's that sound?"

You looked up at them.

"W-would you r-really be willing to d-do th-that for m-me?"

"Yeah! Of course."

You nodded your head.

"Okay, just... one moment."

You felt yourself being pushed out of control. You felt light again, like when Chara took over during battles.

"Heehee!" You giggled.

This was so fun! Floating around and just doing whatever.

"Having fun?" Chara asked, with an eyebrow raised.

"Yes!"

Chara walked forward towards the webs. They leaned forward towards the spiders.

"Spider cakes! Just 15G per mini-cake!"

"Do you know how much HP they heal? Or any basic description of them?"

The spider walked through a hole in the wall and when they came back out, they were holding a small-ish slice of cake on what looked to be a cupcake wrapper. The little cake was chocolate with a vanilla frosting between the two layers of cake. The frosting on the top was a chocolate and vanilla swirl, and it had chocolate curls sprinkled on top along with a dark red cherry.

"This is what our chocolate mini cakes look like! They heal 11 hp, but our full sized cakes (Which you can't buy here) heal 31 hp! And I highly recommend this item, as it is one of our most bought creations!"

Chara looked like they really wanted one, but turned around and faced you.

"So, do you want one?" They asked you.

"Uhm... get two!" You responded.

They turned back around and faced the little spider.

"I'll take two."Chara said.

"Take this one, and then,"

The little spider turned around.

"one spider cake!" They shouted.

"Just a moment please!"

Four slightly smaller spider's came out carrying the mini-cake. Chara put a pile of 30G down in a little pile where sign pointed which said, 'Please put payments here!' The spiders handed Chara the cakes and went back into the wall.

"Thank you! And as you move forward I highly recommend stopping by our main store!"

Chara nodded their head and walked over to the further wall and sat down and sighed as they put the items away.

"Hey, you know you can eat your cake if you want, right?" You told them.

"What?" They asked.

They looked very confused.

"I got two cakes because I thought you might want one, and it's been a while since you've eaten- at least, from what I know..."

"It's okay. You'll probably need it for healing. Wouldn't wanna waste it on me... After all I'm not even that hungry! It costed a lot of G, you sho-"

They were about to finish their sentence when their stomach growled.

"Not hungry, huh?"

"...W-well... maybe I'm just... a little hungry. But it's fine! You really shouldn't waste any G on me!"

"Chara, it's not wasting it to me. Besides, you earned, like, half of the total amount of G we had before we spent any! Please just eat it..."

Chara took out the cake and started eating it. They looked much better when they were finished.

"Okay! Now, you can take back control or I can check out the other web."

"Go see what the other web has!"

Chara walked over to the other web.

"Spider tea! 10G per glass!"

"Can I see what it looks like, or get a description of it?"

"I can do both! One moment please!"

The spider turned around.

"Bring out a glass of tea, please!"

Six spiders came out holding a cup of tea on a little glass plate. The edges of the plate had golden flowers, six of them, with all of their vines connecting. The actual cup had the end of the tea bag sticking out, while the cup itself was decorated with more golden flowers and vines, it also had little spiders dancing around through the middle.

"This is golden flower tea! Well, basically, anyways. We used a base of golden flower tea since its so popular, then added our own extra ingredients to make it ours!"

Chara's eyes slightly widened. They took a small, shaky breath.

"Golden... Flower..."

Their breaths got shakier as they backed away. Their head hit the wall and they started sliding down to the ground. They pulled their hood up and you could see tears falling from their eyes. You went over to them.

"hey, hey it's okay. you're okay. you're safe. don't worry. everything is okay."

You spoke in a soft voice trying to comfort them. You felt magic starting to form in your hand. You may have been a ghost right now, but you were going to do everything you could to help them. You had a small, green flame in your hand as you rubbed comforting circles on their back. You weren't sure how it was working, but you were DETERMINED to help them. Your arms wrapped around them.

"whatever happened, it's okay now. it's okay to cry. take as much time as you need."

"...I...I'm sorry... I know it's stupid... I just..."

" hey, it's not stupid. the spiders made me scared, remember? it's okay. if you want, i can take over for now. do you want that?"

they shakily nodded their head and let you back into control.

"Sorry... I just need a minute... Continue on..."

"Are you sure you don't want me to stay here with you?"

"I...I'm sure. I just need a minute."

"Okay..."

You slowly started walking out of the room. You didn't like being alone, but... it would be fine for just a little while. You walked into the next room. When you entered, you saw a sign. You read it aloud.

"Did you miss it? Spider bake sale down and to the right! Come eat food made by spiders, for spiders, of spiders!"

Oh stars. Isn't that cannibalism? Ehhhhhhhhhh you were starting to feel uncomfortable so you turned to the only path you could see. You saw three Froggits just standing there, not really doing anything. You walk up to the first one, and they said...

"Ribbit, Ribbit. (Sigh...). My friends never listen to me... whenever I talk, they just zone out after a while."

He started talking about some other things that bothered him and the whole time you just listened.

"Well, at least you listen to me..."

You moved down the path to the next Froggit.

"Ribbit Ribbit. (Me and these two are on the lookout for humans for king Asgore. Not sure how we'll get the human to him, but tell us if you see one anyways!)"

'Some of these monsters don't know what a human looks like, huh?'

You continued to the third and final Froggit.

"Ribbit, Ribbit. (I have heard you are quite merciful, for a human... I'm sure you know by know that when monsters have yellow names you can spare them. What do you think of that, by the way?)"

"It's actually quite helpful!"

"Ribbit. (It is quite helpful. Just remember, sparing is basically saying you won't fight. Maybe one day, you'll have to do it even if their name isn't yellow.)"

'huh... that's odd. The other Froggit said they were on the lookout for humans but they didn't know what a human looked like. But this Froggit does. And he isn't trying to capture me. Weird.'

You were about to continue when-

"Ring!"

You saw that mom was calling you. You answered the phone.

"I just realized that it has been a while since I last cleaned up the place. I wasn't quite expecting to have company so soon. There are more than likely some things lying around everywhere. You can pick them up of course, but I recommend not picking up more than you need. Someday you may see something you really like. You shall want to leave room in your pockets for that."

"Click!"

She hung up.

You continued to the next room.

You saw six trap door thi-

"Hey." You heard someone say.

You quickly spun around.

"Chara!" You shouted.

"Did'ja miss me, partner?" They asked.

"A lot!!!"

You ran over to them.

"Now, we should probably get started on this puzzle. It looks like trail and error. Might take a while." Chara said.

You nodded your head and took a single step forward when-

"[!]"

"Loox drew near!"

You clicked on act. The options were check, pick on, dont pick on, and make friends.

You clicked dont pick on. You couldn't make friends yet, so you chose the next best thing.

"...Pick on me."

They... wanted you to pick on them!?

Square like shapes started bouncing around you, but whenever they hit an edge, they sped up. You ended with 19/22hp. This time, when you went to act, you reluctantly choose pick on.

"...Now, was that so hard?"

The same attack as before repeated. You managed to make it out with 19/22 Hp. You didn't get hit at all! You went to act again and selected make friends.

"You gained 2 FSP, 10G!"

The encounter ended and you jumped in the hole closest to you. When you hit the bottom, you found a faded ribbon and equipped it. You gained 3 DEF!

You went back up.

"Wait! Before you jump again, I'm gonna go down there and see if anything will help!" Chara said, then rushed down.

A minute or two later they came back up.

"I recommend you check both the middle ones. I think you should go to the bottom middle one first, though."

You jumped down the bottom middle one and saw napstablook. You walked over to them. She looked surprised to see you.

"i've fallen down a hole... now i can't get up... i guess this is my life now..." He said.

"But... can't ghosts fly?" You asked.

"oh well..." they said and faded away.

You went to the top middle one and found a switch and flicked it. You heard something and went back up.

You saw a room with pillars and switches. You saw a exit and continued through. The next room looked similar but you could only see two switches, one was out blocked by the shadow of a pillar. You saw a sign that said to press the blue switch. You didn't see a blue switch so you assumed that it was the hidden one. You clicked the hidden one and heard something moving. You continued to the next room. It said to click the orange switch so you did and the spikes blocking the next door went away.You continued on. You were starting to get really tired...

You didn't even bother with reading the sign. Two of the three switches were hidden. You clicked the one closest to you and you got lucky. You moved forward even still. You encountered a Froggit. You were so tired...

"Chara? Do you think you could do this one?" You asked.

"Oh, yeah! Of course!" They responded.

They took control of your body and you just floated around, waiting for the encounter to end. They finished without getting hurt. The encounter ended and you gained control again. You saw two pathway's and choose to go straight. You walked into the next room and saw a Froggit. They started talking to you.

"Ribbit, Ribbit (Just between you and me... I saw Toriel come out of here a little bit ago. They were carrying groceries. I didn't ask what she was using them for. I figured I'd let her be. She's nice and needs a break. A lot has been going on here lately.)."

You continued to the next room you saw and found a...

A Toy Knife.

You knew you would be strong if you used that combined with your fire magic. You turned around and left. You were not gonna hurt anyone. You went onto the pathway you had not chosen before.

"Oh dear, that took much longer than I thought it would... I hope that they're okay..." Toriel said.

You heard your phone start to ring when Toriel saw you.

"How did you get all they way here? Are you alright? Who hurt you? I can have a stern talk with them..."

She took a deep breath.

"Well then, follow me. I shall heal you and... I have a surprise for you! Come on now!"

You followed after her and saw a house. But you saw a save point and decided you didn't want to lose all that progress.

(Seeing such nice little house in the Ruins... it fills you with Determination.)

You walked inside their house.

"Do you smell that? Surprise! I made you a Butterscotch-Cinnamon pie! I thought we could celebrate your arrival. I want you to enjoy living here. So I shall hold off on snail pie for tonight. Follow me, I have another surprise for you."

Toriel walked into the left hallway. You followed after them.

"This is it..."

She held your hand and walked up to a door.

"A room of your own. I hope you like it!"

She rubbed your head. Then turned around. You smelled smoke.

"Um, is something on burning...? Oh! Uh, make yourself at home!"

You entered the room.

You saw a bed with a box of toys at the end of it, along with two plushies that were leaned against the wall next to the bed. The was a lamp in the top right corner next to the bed. On the other side of the bed a closet was pushed against the wall. Over on the left of that you saw a shelf. On the very top shelf you saw a photograph and some papers. You leaned closer to the photograph...

It... looked like a human, a little goat monster, Toriel, and another larger goat monster. When you looked closer, the human kind of looked like-

"No. I.. I don't wanna..." You heard Chara say shakily.

"What? What's wrong?"

"...I'm sorry. I just... need to leave this room. You should take a nap when you're done looking around."

You watched as Chara left. You wanted to finish looking around at everything, then you would take a nap.

The middle and top shelves just had toys. You saw a little treasure box, but it was locked. Above the treasure box was a slightly messy drawing of two golden flowers. One of them had a smiley face drawn on it. It kind of looked like Flowey. You saw signatures at the bottom, two of them. ...Messy handwriting. You can't tell who it was made by. To the left of that was a lamp on a stool, more easily accessible than the other one. You feel really tired now... You walked over the bed and laid down and fell asleep.

"Whaaa?"

You yawned and sat up straight. You smelt something like cinnamon next to you. You looked down at the floor and saw a piece of butterscotch-cinnamon pie on a white plate. You smiled a little and picked up the pie. You weren't very hungry right now and wanted to save it for later. You felt the blanket slide off your legs and finally noticed that you had been tucked in. The light was off as well and you heard a music box playing. You turned off the music box you saw and left the room. You went to the room where you had first entered. You saw a shelf with books, and some stairs leading down. You also saw a plant but... it didn't interest you that much. You continued to the next room.

You walked in and saw a table. The table had an old, worn out purple tablecloth. But the assortment of beautiful vibrant flowers in a navy blue vase on a orange little circular cloth in the center made up for it. There were three chairs around it. You saw Toriel sitting in an brownish red chair reading a book next to the fire place. You also saw another room and decided to go into it.

When you walked in you saw a fridge with pictures, drawings, and notes placed around. Next to that you saw a sink with white fur stuck in the drain, and a cabinet underneath the sink. There was a red mat in front of the cabinet. Next to that was a countertop with the rest of the pie on it. There were two cabinets and two drawers underneath. Above the counter and sink was a little wrack with pans and oven mittens hanging up. Next to the counter you saw a stove.

As nice as this all was... You didn't want to stay here. Toriel didn't deserve to have to stay here. It was small and cramped. And you really didn't want to stay here. If you did you would be constantly attacked by monsters, and Toriel wouldn't always be there to save you. You needed to find a way to get both you and them out of the underground. And if she didn't want to... you didn't know what you were going to do. You exited the kitchen.

You walked over to Toriel. She set her book down and looked at you.

"Up already? Well, I want you to know how glad I am to have you here. There are so many old books I want to share. I want to teach you how to bake what you don't know...  I've also prepared a curriculum for your education. This may be a surprise, but... I have always wanted to be a teacher. ...Well, I guess that isn't that surprising. STILL. I am glad to have you living here."

You were going to make sure she could be a teacher at a real school on the surface.

"Oh, did you need something, my child?"

"...I... I need to leave."

"W-what? B-but... You c-can't leave... Um... W-would you l-like to hear about the b-book I am reading? It is called 72 u-uses for s-snails. H-how about that?"

"...H-how do I exit the R-Ruins?"

"Um... What about an exciting s-snail fact? Did you know that snails... Sometimes f-flip their digestive s-systems as they m-mature? Interesting, is it n-not?"

"...H-how d-do I e-exit the R-Ruins?"

"...Excuse me, my child. I must go do something now. Wait for me here."

She got up and exited the room. You quickly followed after her. You saw her rushing down the stairs and you carefully followed down after her. You ran after her and tugged on her sleeve when you reached them.

"You wish to return to the surface, correct? Ahead of us is the exit from the ruins. The only way to get to the rest of the underground. ...I am going to destroy it. Nobody will leave again. Now be a good child and head to your room."

She pulled her sleeve from your grip and continued forward.

"(Y/N)? What's going on!?" Chara exclaimed.

"I-I don't really know! I just asked how to leave... I can't stay here!" You replied.

You started running after her.

"W-wait! Please!" You called after her.

She stopped again.

"Every human who falls meets the same end. I have seen it too many times. They come. They leave. They DIE. You naive child.. If you leave me... They... ASGORE, will kill you. I am only trying to protect you, do you understand? ...Go upstairs."

She started running off again.You felt yourself being pushed out of your body.

"MOM PLEASE! " Chara screamed.

"Char- no... I am hearing things... Do not try to stop me. This is your final warning."

She continued around the corner. You followed after her quickly.

"You want to leave so badly? Fine. You are the same as the rest of them. There is only one solution to this. Prove yourself... Prove to me you are strong enough to survive out there!

"[!]"

'Toriel looks at you sadly.'

You immediately went to act. The only options were check, talk, and make friends... You selected talk.

"Mom! I just need to leave! I'll be fine!"

"..."

'It seems talking doesn't have any effect...'

Talking won't work... what are you supposed to do!?

'Well, there are multiple ways you can spare them. You can either do it the better, less dangerous way by acting, or you can fight them until they're Hp is low.'

If you fight Toriel until her Hp is low enough... You would be able to spare her!

You saw flames like your own coming at you. There were two wobbly lines of fire around you. They would go in, crossing over each other, then back out again. When her attack ended, you had only been hit once. You remembered your plan and hesitantly took out your stick and used fire magic on it to make the attacks a bit stronger.

"...(Y/N)? What are you doing!?" Chara screamed at you.

"A Froggit told me if you fight a monster until their hp is low, you can spare them! You saw that talking had no effect, so this is the only thing I can do!"

"...Don't you dare kill her."

"I'm not planning to." You responded.

You went to fight, and hit her with the stick.

"..."

Flames were bouncing around all over the box. You got hit twice.

You attacked again.

"..."

This time, her flames were acting almost like a jump rope, but every time they went around it just got faster. You got hit once at the end.

You attacked again. After that, her attacks just kept repeating in random patterns. 5 more times and her hp was running low. One more small attack and you were sure that you would be able to spare her. You stopped using fire magic on the stick. You dodged her final attack and landed your final blow.

She dropped to her knees. You heard a shaky gasp from behind you.

"Urgh... it appears... you are stronger than I anticipated... listen to me, my child... If you go past this door... keep going as far as you can... Eventually you will find an exit... ... ..... ASGORE... Do not let ASGORE take your soul... His plans cannot succeed.  . . . . . ."

She smiled, slightly.

"Be good, won't you? M y  c h i l d ."

A pile of dust laid at your feet, spreading through the air. A white, upside down soul hovered in front of you. And then...

It shattered.

Chapter Text

'You lost 2 FSL! You gained 5 LV! Chara gained 5 HATE!'

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" Chara screamed at you.

Tears were falling from your face as you dropped the stick, now covered in dust. You stared in disbelief. What have you done? You've messed up. You've killed your mother. She loved you. She just wanted to stay with you. She took you in even though you were just some random human who fell into the underground. And she treated you like you were her real child. And how do you repay her? By turning her into a pile of dust, that's how.

"YOU KNOW WHAT? YOU KNOW FUCKING WHAT!?" Chara screamed again.

You felt yourself being pushed out of control. You simply watched as a glowing red and slightly black knife appeared in their hands with burning fire raging around it. You watched as they plunged it straight through your soul. Your vision became black and empty.

You woke in the same dark and empty place as you had when you died from the spikes. Chara hovered in front of you.

"You deserved that. You deserve so much worse than that. I warned you not to kill them and what did you do? You killed her."

"I know. I know what I've done and I hate myself for it. I deserve to killed thousands of times and even with that I would deserve worse. I'm a horrible person. All I wanted was for her to be free. And then I killed her."

"...You wanted her to be free?"

"Of course I did. They deserve to be free on the surface. The Ruins are small and cramped. And she said that she wanted to be a teacher, so I wanted to help them become a teacher at a real school on the surface."

"...Then go do that. Go back and make sure she lives this time. Didn't another Froggit say you would have to spare a monster, even if their name isn't yellow?"

And with that, they disappeared. You walked over to the buttons and selected continue.

You were back in front of her house. You felt tired again and went straight to bed once she finished 'surprising' you. You woke up to the same thing as before. Chara didn't say anything to you. You didn't even see them. You headed out of the room and went to Toriel.

You walked over to Toriel. She set her book down and looked at you again.

"Up already? Well, I want you to know how glad I am to have you here. There are so many old books I want to share. She began with the same attack as before. This time, you got away without getting hit. You went to spare and selected mercy again.

Toriel was getting confused. They kept attacking. You got hit once this time. You went to mercy and selected spare.

"What are you doing?" She finally spoke.

"Attack or run away!" They were getting frustrated.

Not again. You will not kill her again. You refuse. And you won't give up either. You got hit once. You went to mercy and selected spare.

"What are you proving this way?"

She was silent again. Her attacks were avoiding you now. You still chose spare.

She had small tears in her eyes. You selected spare.

"I know you want to go home but..."

No fire magic was even being used anymore. The attack ended immediately. You selected spare.

"But please... go to your room now."

You selected spare.

"I promise I will take good care of you here."

Spare.

"I know we do not have much, but..."

You noticed that fleeing wasn't even an option. No going back. Spare.

"We can have a good life in the Ruins."

"Why are you making this difficult?"

Spare.

"Please. Go upstairs now."

Spare.

"Ha ha..."

Spare.

"Pathetic, is it not? I cannot save even a single human."

Spare.

"..."

Spare.

"...No. I understand. You would just be unhappy trapped here. The Ruins are very small once you become used to them. It would not be okay for you to live in a place such as this. My expectations... My loneliness... My fears... For you, my child... I shall set them aside."

The encounter ended.

"If you truly wish to leave the Ruins... I shall not stop you. However, once you leave... Please, do not come back. I hope you understand."

You were crying a bit. She went up to you and hugged you.

"I love you, my child."

"...I love you to, mom."

You didn't want to let go. She released you and walked around you.

"Good luck, my child."

And with that, she walked away. You dropped to your knees.

"...You alright, (Y/N)?" Chara spoke.

"C-Chara?"

"Yeah. I'm here."

You stood up.

"Guess it's time to finally move on, huh?" Chara said.

"I... Yeah. It's time we leave the Ruins."

You walked through the doors and continued through a long hallway until you saw an exit.

"Clever. Verryyy clever."

Oh no.

"You think you're pretty smart, don't you?"

Flowey. You took a small step backwards.

"In this world, it's Kill or Be killed. So you were able to play by your own rules. You spared the lives of a few, miserable monsters. Hee hee hee... But don't act so damn cocky. I know what you did to HER. Your 'mom'. You killed her. You mercilessly slaughtered her. And then you went back. Because you regretted it. Ha ha ha ha... You stupid, naive IDIOT. Do you truly think you're the only one with that power? The power to reshape the world... To reset time... Purely by your very own determination. The power play as a god! The ability to SAVE. And I thought I was the only with that power! But... I can't save anymore. Apparently, YOUR determination over overrides MINE! Well well. Enjoy that power while you have it. I'll be watching. HEHEAHAHAHA.. HAHAHAHAA."

With that, he disappeared. You walked forward and saw two, giant doors. Next to them was a save point. You selected save.

'Leaving the Ruins... It fills you with Determination.'

You step out of the ruins, met by a cold breeze. You hear snow crunching beneath your boot. You look around you and see a snowy forest. You look to your left and see a small green bush.

'I'm surprised it can survive in this kind of weather... ...How even is there any weather? We're underground.'

You saw a small red light in the bush, but you couldn't tell what it was. Before you could study it any closer, you heard a voice.

"Hey, you alright? You're shivering an awful lot." Chara spoke.

"Oh, hey, yeah I'm fine. Just a little cold." You responded.

"We should probably keep moving. If you're cold, try and move forward to find somewhere to stay."

"Oh, uh, yeah. Sorry."

You started to walk forward. You couldn't help but think about what you'd done earlier. You killed her. Flowey was right. You slaughtered her. You turned her to dust. You didn't deserve to call her mom.

You weren't paying attention to where you were going. You couldn't see anything. Just darkness. And her. She stood there. She was staring at you. She fell to her knees. She was melting. You let go of what you were holding. You looked down. A knife. Did you...? But... no. You wouldn't. You didn't. ...But you did. When you looked back up she was right there. Right in front of you.

"Why did you kill me? I loved you. And you... hated me? You're a monster. No, even worse. You're a human ."

She reached out to you.

"At least do one last thing for me."

You at least owed her that. Whatever she said, you had to do you. You had to.

"What do you want me to do? Please I'll do anything, please..."

"...die."

She reached out and pulled your soul out. You felt something in your hand. You looked at it. .

...It was the knife. When did you pick that up? Your breathing was getting heavier.

"(Y/N)? Are you okay!? What's wrong-"

You had to. You had to do what she wanted you to.

"(Y/N) please stop! What are-"

You had the knife in front of your soul. You looked at Toriel.

She was smiling.

"Now do it."

You were about to strike through when-

"(Y/N)! What are you doing!?" Chara screamed.

You felt something stop you. You looked up and saw Chara.

They looked panicked, and had tears streaming down their face.

You looked down at your hands. A knife was in your hands, just an inch away from where your soul would be. How did you even...? You instantly dropped it and crawled backwards. It disintegrated almost immediately after it hit the snow. You reached up to your face. You had tears streaming down from your eyes. You didn't even notice that you had started crying. You curled up into a ball and waited.

You just can't handle this right now.

You had explained what happened to Chara and they comforted you. You had taken a break, and were now ready to get back on track. You realized you were standing in front of a gate thing.

'Is this meant to stop someone? If it is, then whoever made it didn't do a very great job.'

You took a single step forward and then froze in place. You didn't know why, but you couldn't move. You heard footsteps approaching from behind.

"human. don't ya know how to greet a new buddy? turn around, and shake my hand."

You slowly turned around. A hand stuck out through the shadows. Most of the hand was covered in a black glove, but ghostly white fingertips stuck out. You slowly reached your hand forward and...

"pppppppffffggghhhhbbbtt."

The person stepped forward and revealed themself.

"heya, i'm sans. sans the skeleton." He spoke.

Sans was quite short. Like, the height of a 13 year old short. He wore a dulled out blue jacket, which on the inside had yellow hearts on the inside with little bones surrounding each heart. On both hands he wore black gloves that only showed his fingertips. His short were plain black with white stripes going through both sides on each leg. He wore dull pink slippers with white socks. He began to speak again.

"heheheh.... the ol' whoopee cushion in the hand trick."

You started laughing a little. From behind you, you could hear Chara also chuckling. As you looked at his hand you could see that there was a little bump it the middle of it. He had put a whoopee cushion in his glove. That just made it even funnier.

"it's always funny. anyways, you're a human, right? that's hilarious. i'm actually supposed to be on watch for humans right now." He said.

You took a slight step backwards.

"but... i don't really care about capturing anybody." He spoke as he shrugged.

"now my brother, papyrus. he's a human hunting fanatic. hey, that's him over there. hmmm... i have an idea. go through this gate thing. yeah, just go right through. paps made the bars to wide to stop anyone."

You were a little worried. Sans had said that Papyrus was over this way. But, nevertheless, you continued forward through the gate.

"hey, he's coming. go behind that conveniently shaped lamp."

There was a lamp that was the exact same height as you. The same hair length, even. It was shaped exactly like you. But, if you hid behind it, Papyrus would be able to see you. Sans wouldn't, but because of the angle, Papyrus would easily see you. You quickly ducked behind what you could only assume was a sentry station of some sort. You slightly peeked your head out so you could see what was happening.

A tall skeleton appeared on your left, who you could only assume was papyrus. And wow, he was tall. Like, 7'5" kinda tall. He wore what looked like it was meant to be a metal chest plate... but made out of plastic. Plastic shoulder pads as well. He wore bright orange gloves, which matched his orange boots. You almost laughed. Was he trying to be a superhero? He was wearing what looked to be underwear... outside of his pants. The rest of his body, except for his neck and head, was covered in some sort of black material. It looked like a similar material as what your tights were.

"sup bro." sans started.

"YOU KNOW WHAT 'SUP' BROTHER!" Papyrus answered.

Oh gosh he was loud. You flinched from just how loud he was speaking.

"IT HAS BEEN EIGHT ENTIRE DAYS AND YOU STILL HAVEN'T RECALIBRATED YOUR PUZZLES YET!!!"

Yeah. Unfortunately, it seemed that shouting was how this guy talked. You did not want to know what it sounded like when he actually tried to yell.

"YOU JUST HANG AROUND OUTSIDE OF YOUR STATION ALL DAY! WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING?"

"staring at this station. it's really cool. wanna look?"

Was- was he trying to get you caught!?

"NO! I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THAT! WHAT IF A HUMAN WERE TO COME THROUGH HERE!?! I HAVE TO BE READY! I WILL BE THE ONE! I MUST BE THE ONE! I SHALL CAPTURE A HUMAN!"

You were really hoping you wouldn't have to run into Papyrus again. He really wants to capture a human. You can't get caught.

"THEN, I, THE GREAT AND NOBLE PAPYRUS WILL GET ALL THE THINGS I ABSOLUTELY DESERVE! RESPECT... RECOGNITION... I WILL FINALLY BECOME CAPTAIN OF THE ROYAL GUARD. PEOPLE WILL ASK TO BE MY FRIEND? I SHALL BATHE IN A SHOWER OF KISSES EVERY MORNING." Papyrus finished his little speech.

"hmm..... maybe this station will help you." sans replied.

You were silently panicking.

'Sans you goddamn-'

"SANS! YOU ARE NOT HELPING! YOU LAZYBONES! ALL YOU DO IS SIT AND BOONDOGGLE! I SWEAR, YOU JUST GET LAZIER AND LAZIER EVERY SINGLE DAY!" Papyrus spoke.

"hey, take it easy. i've gotten a ton of work done today. a skele-ton."

"ba dum tsss" You heard somewhere in the woods.

"SANS!!!"

"ah, come on. you're smiling."

"I AM AND I HATE IT. SIGH... WHY DOES SOMEONE AS GREAT AS ME... HAVE TO DO SO MUCH JUST TO GET SOME RECOGNITION."

"wow, it really sounds like you're working yourself... down to the bone." Sans said while winking.

"ba dum tsss"

"UGH!!! I WILL ATTEND TO MY PUZZLES. AS FOR YOUR WORK? PUT A LITTLE MORE... BACKBONE INTO IT! NWEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH!!!"

Papyrus walked away but suddenly walked back in.

"HEH!"

"...ok, you can come out now."

You walked out from behind the station. You looked over at Sans and walked over to him.

"Were you trying to get me caught.?" You asked.

"nah, i knew he wouldn't look. just thought i'd scare ya a bit." He said while grinning.

You playfully rolled your eyes and began to walk away.

"actually, hey... hate ta bother ya but can you do me a favor? i was thinking... my brothers been kinda down lately.... and uh, he's never seen a human before. seeing you just might make his day. don't worry. he's not dangerous at all. even if he tries to be. so if you would uh, be willing to do that for me...?"

"Sure, why not?"

"thanks a million. i'll be up ahead."

He began to walk in the opposite direction. You were confused but shrugged it off and continues forward. As you entered, you saw a save point.

'Thank the stars, I need to save.'

You quickly ran up to it and saved.

You took a few steps forward and saw two pathways, one continuing forward, and the other went to your left. You deciding to try the path to your left. You took one step forward when-

"[!]"

"Snowdrake fluttered forth!" Chara shouted.

You instantly clicked on act. The options were check, laugh, joke, and heckle.

...Make friends wasn't an option anymore. You didn't have FSL anymore. Was it because...? ...But...How...?

'I don't understand. I went back. I erased it. It's not true anymore. But then... Why...?'

...You decided to stop focusing on it. You needed to be done with the battle. You took a deep breath to calm yourself down. You selected joke.

"Ice to meet you!" You said.

'Oh stars, that was horrible!'

"Hah! That sucked, you should listen to my jokes instead!" The Snowdrake replied.

Big icicles formed above you. One began to spin around before pointing straight at you and flying down. Your eyes widened and you quickly jump over to your left, your body slamming against the floor. Another one began to do the same thing. You quickly stood up and tried to jump away, but before you completely got away the icicle slammed down and caught on some of your sweatshirt. You had gotten lucky it didn't catch your skin. Another icicle was about to come down on you, but you were stuck. You ripped away from the icicle and dodged the one coming at you. The attack finally ended.

You walked over to where the piece of fabric lay. You picked it up and looked at Chara.

"Any chance you know how to sew?" You asked.

"Sorry (Y/N), can't help ya with that." Chara responded.

You sighed and put the piece of fabric into your inventory.

You went to mercy and selected spare so that you could listen to what he had to say.

"Why does Jerry hang out with snowmen? To be one of the cool kids!" He said.

Another attack began. This one had little icicles that bounced around  and slowly got faster. You only got hit once.

You went to act and selected laugh.

"Hahaha! Nice one!" You laughed.

"See!? Laughs! Dad was wrong!" He shouted in glee.

'What happened with this guy's dad?'

The next attack began. This one was similar to the last one, the only difference was that these icicles traveled in rows rather than just bouncing around randomly. You almost got hit, but managed not to.

You saw that his name was now yellow. You went to mercy and selected spare.

"You gained 0 Exp and 7 G!" Chara shouted.

You sighed and continued forward. You saw a box with a sign next to it.

'This is a box. You can put an item inside or take an item out. The same box will appear later, so don't worry about coming back.'

You interacted with the box. Inside there lay a Tough Glove. It was a weapon, so you had no need for it. You decided to put the bandage away in the box. You closed the box and decided to check the butterscotch pie.

""Butterscotch pie" heals- All HP -Butterscotch-cinnamon pie, one slice." You spoke.

"It heals all of your HP? You might want to put that away and save it for later." Chara said.

"Yeah, good idea." You said.

You went into the box and gently set the pie down in one of the sections. You closed the box and stepped back. You continued down the path.

"Ack!" You squeaked.

You face-planted into the snow. You look back and saw you had tripped over a small rock.

"SO, AS I WAS SAYING ABOUT UNDYNE," Papyrus shouted.

Papyrus looked over at you, then at sans. Then at you, then at sans. Sans looked at papyrus, then at you. Then at papyrus, then at sans. One of them would look at you while the other looked at them, then they would switch. At some point they began spinning around. They stopped after 30 seconds. They both turned facing away from you.

"SANS!!! OH MY STARS! IS THAT... A HUMAN!?!?!?!?!?!!!?" Papyrus said in an attempted whisper voice... which failed miserably.

They both turned to face you, who was still laying in the snow.

"uhhh... actually, i think that's a rock."

'Are they seriously focusing on the rock!? It's not like I'm hiding for stars sake.'

"OH." Papyrus said, very disappointed.

"hey, what's that in front of the rock?" Sans said.

"OH MY GOD!!!" Papyrus shouted.

Papyrus turned towards Sans.

"(IS...IS THAT A HUMAN???)" Papyrus asked.

"(yes)" sans responded.

"OH MY STARS!!! SANS! I FINALLY DID IT! UNDYNE WILL... I'M GONNA... I'LL BE SO... POPULAR! POWERFUL! HAPPY! ...'AHEM'. HUMAN! YOU SHALL NOT PASS THIS AREA! I, THE GREAT AND NOBLE PAPYRUS, SHALL STOP YOU!!! I SHALL THEN CAPTURE YOU! THEN YOU SHALL BE DELIVERED TO THE CAPITAL! BUT THEN... THEN!!! ... I'M NOT SURE WHAT'S NEXT. IN ANY CASE! CONTINUE... IF YOU DARE!!! NWEHEHEHEHEH!" Papyrus finished.

He then turned around and left.

"well, that went well." Sans said.

You made a 'seriously?' face at him.

"don't sweat it, kid. i'll keep an eye-socket out for you." sans said with a wink.

You were very creeped out. Skeletons should NOT be able to wink!!! He then turned around and followed after his brother.

You were confused, but continued forward anyways. Both of the brothers had completely disappeared, despite having left only a second ago. You continued down and saw a box. You approached it.

'There's some narration on this cardboard box.'

'YOU OBSERVE THE WELL-CRAFTED SENTRY STATION. WHO COULD HAVE BUILT THIS, YOU WONDER... I BET IT WAS THAT SUPER FAMOUS ROYAL GUARDSMAN!!! (NOTE: NOT YET A SUPER FAMOUS GUARDSMAN.)'

You laughed a little and turned around when-

'[!]'

"Icecap struts into view!" Chara shouted.

You went to act. The four options were check, compliment, ignore, and steal. You decided to try complimenting it.

"I like your hat!" You said.

"Envious? TOO BAD!!!" It screamed back.

'Jeez, I was just trying to be nice, I guess I can try ignoring it next...'

Icicles in groups of three would suddenly burst from the ground with little warning. After they reached the top, they would fall back down. You got it twice, and it cut up your arms pretty bad. You were bleeding. The attack finally ended after about 30 seconds.

"Woah, hey, are you okay?" Chara asked, concerned.

"I'm fine! I'll... I'll be alright!" You said back.

'Dammit, it really stings I just want to end the battle already!!!'

You grit your teeth together and went to act. You chose ignore.

'You manage to tear your eyes away from Icecaps hat. It looks very annoyed...'

"HELLO?? My hat's up here." It said annoyed and almost slightly offended.

'Hey, that works.'

The same attack from before repeated. This time you got hit once, and it almost stabbed through your leg.

"Ugh.... Dammit..." You said between breaths.

HP: 7/20

"(Y/N)! You're seriously hurt! Eat some food! Let me take over!"

"It's... It's okay.... I'm okay...." You said while trying to steady yourself.

"I can do this...." You said.

Chara looked incredibly concerned... and a little conflicted. Then they looked like they had decided on something. You felt yourself being pushed out of control, but you fought back.

"I'll be fine just let me do this!" You shouted.

"No! You're seriously hurt and you're refusing to heal!" Chara shouted back.

"Stop!!!" You screamed at them.

"No!" They screamed back.

You finally gave up and lost control. You felt so weak.

Chara looked over at you.

"Why wouldn't you let me take over? And why wouldn't you heal?" They asked.

"...I just... feel weak." You said.

"What?" Chara said, confused.

"I feel so weak if I constantly need to heal, or for you to take over..." You said.

"Getting hurt and healing yourself doesn't make you weak. Healing yourself is stopping yourself from dying." Chara said.

They were right. It didn't make you weak to need help or to need to heal.

"Heh, alright then." You said.

They smiled and you and turned back to the fight. They went to item and selected the monster candy.

HP: 20/20

"Hmph." Icecap said.

The next attack began. icicles shot out from the bottom and top of the box like thing. They each made a sort of wavy pattern, giving Chara barely any space to dodge. They managed to not get hit at all.

They went to act and selected ignore.

'You continue not looking at icecaps hat. It seems defeated...'

"Better to be a hatter than a HATER." Icecap said, very offended.

The attack from the beginning began again. Chara didn't get hit at all.

Icecaps name was now yellow, so Chara went to mercy and selected spare.

"YOU WON! You earned 0 Exp and 13 G!" You shouted.

Chara let you back in control and you continued down the path. You saw a sign.

'(Absolutely NO MOVING WHATSOEVER!' 

You were confused and continued down the path, and saw a sentry station. You started to walk by, when-

"blooooop."

A dog that seemed to be smoking a bone slowly popped up from behind the sentry station. His are were darting back and forth, left and right.

"Did something move? Was it my imagination? I can only see moving things. If something WAS moving.... For example, a human....... I'll make sure it NEVER moves again!"

"Doggo blocks the way!" Chara shouted.

 He could only see moving things, so you decided to not move. At all. You very, very slowly moved to the act option. The four choices were check, pet, and stand still.

You very carefully selected stand still.

"Don't move an inch!" Doggo shouted.

A giant blue knife started heading at you. It took up the entire area, so there was nothing you could do but stand still. You closed your eyes, grit your teeth, and stood completely still. ....The attack ended. The knife went right through you, and did not take your HP down at all.

"...Huh..." You said.

You went to act and selected pet.

'You pet Doggo.'

"WHAT!!!??? I'VE BEEN PET!!! PET? PAT? PET? PAT? POT? POT? PAT? PET?"

The same attack as before began, with Doggo in the background repeating 'PET? PAT? PET? POT?' Over and over again.

His name was now yellow, so you went to mercy and selected spare.

"S-s-something pet me... S-s-something t-that isn't m-m-moving... I'm gonna need some dog treats for this!!!!" Doggo shouted and disappeared underneath the sentry station.

You continued forward. You saw a small pile of dog bones.

'(Someone's been smoking dog treats.)'

You turned forward and continued down the path.  You saw Sans.

"hey, here's something important to remember. my bro has a very special attack. If you see a blue attack, don't move and it won't hurt you. here's a pretty easy way to keep it in mind. imagine a stop sign. when you see a stop sign. you stop, right? stop signs are red. so just imagine a blue stop sign instead. simple, right? when fighting just think about blue stop signs." Sans said.

You were more confused now than you were before. Despite that, you continued forward... and immediately slipped onto your face. You were now on top of a patch of ice, in front of a sign surrounded by more ice. You slowly got up, with the help of the sign and read it.

'North: Ice. South: Ice. West: Ice. East: Snowdin Town. (...and Ice.)'

You decided to head what seemed to be north. And there, you found a snowman.

"Hello. I am a snowman. I wish to see the world... but I cannot move. If you would be so kind, traveler, please... Take a piece of me and bring it very far away." The snowman said.

You nodded your head.

"Thank you... and good luck!" He said.

'(You got the Snowman Piece.)'

You turned around and went south, then over east.

"YOU'RE SO LAZY!!! YOU WERE NAPPING ALL NIGHT!!!" Papyrus shouted.

"i think that's called... sleeping." sans replied.

"EXCUSES, EXCUSES!!!" Papyrus shouted back.

They both suddenly turned towards you. You were confused. Sans had just been behind you, so how did he get ahead of you...?

"OH-HO! THE HUMAN ARRIVES! IN ORDER TO STOP YOU..... MY BROTHER AND I HAVE CREATED SOME PUZZLES! I THINK YOU SHALL FIND THIS ONE... QUITE SHOCKING!!! FOR YOU SEE, THIS IS THE INVISIBLE... ELECTRICITY MAZE!!! WHEN YOU TOUCH THE WALLS OF THIS MAZE, THIS ORB SHALL ADMINISTER A HEARTY ZAP! SOUND LIKE FUN?? BECAUSE! THE AMOUNT OF FUN YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE, IS ACTUALLY RATHER SMALL I BELIEVE. OK, YOU CAN GO AHEAD NOW." Papyrus finished.

You carefully stepped forward.

"BZZZZT!!!"

Papyrus' eye twitched, as he had just been zapped.

"SANS!!! WHAT DID YOU DO??!!" Papyrus shouted.

"i think the human has to hold the orb." Sans replied.

"OH, OKAY." Papyrus said.

He walked safely across the electric field, and he must have had dye on his boots or something? Because they left marks exactly where he stepped.

"HOLD THIS PLEASE!" He said.

He carefully placed the orb on top of your head and walked back over the electric field.

"OKAY, TRY NOW!" He said.

You followed where he had stepped and made it across safely.

"INCREDIBLE! YOU SLIPPERY SNAIL! YOU SOLVED IT SO EASILY.... TOO EASILY!!! HOWEVER!! THE NEXT PUZZLE WILL NOT BE EASY! IT HAS BEEN DESIGNED BY MY BROTHER, SANS! YOU WILL SURELY BE CONFOUNDED!! I KNOW I AM! NWEH-HEH-HEH!" Papyrus said and walked off.

You walked over to Sans.

"hey, thanks. my brother seems like he's having fun. by the way, did ya see that weird outfit he's wearing? we made that a few weeks ago for a costume party. he hasn't worn anything else since... he keeps calling it his 'battle body'. man. isn't my bro so cool?" sans said.

You turned around and walked west, following after Papyrus. You saw someone who was blue and fuzzy, and looked sort of like a bunny, and they were leaning on one of those hotdog stand things.

"I don't understand why these aren't selling... It's the perfect weather for something cold..." The blue bunny man said.

He peeked one eye open and saw you and immediately perked up.

"OH!!! A COSTUMER!!! Hello! Would you like some Nice Cream? It's the frozen treat that warms your heart! Now just 15G! You want some?" He asked.

You had 55G.

"Hmm... I'll take two!" You said.

You set the G down and he handed you two nice creams.

"Here you go! Have a super-duper day!" He said.

You smiled at him. "You to!"

You put the nice creams away. You walked forward and saw the puzzle Papyrus had been talking about. There was a pretty big snowball on a weirdly shaped big patch of ice. Near the bottom was a little hole you needed to push the snowball into. You played a few times, and gained 7G! You now had 32G! You walked over to a little snowball.

'(It looks like a snowball... Actually, it's a snowdecahedron.)'

You continued to the east. There, you found Sans and Papyrus waiting in front of a piece of paper.

"HUMAN!!! I HOPE YOU'RE READY FOR... SANS!!! WHERE IS THE PUZZLE!!??" Papyrus shouted at Sans.

"it's right there. on the ground. trust me. there's no way that they could get past this one." Sans said.

You walked forward and picked up the sheet of paper. You easily found all of the words (except for mermaid. dammit, you just couldn't find it!) and set the paper down.

"SANS!!! THAT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!" Papyrus shouted.

"whoops. knew i shoulda used today's crossword instead." Sans said.

"WHAT!?! CROSSWORD!?!?! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU SAID THAT!!! IN MY OPINION... JUNIOR JUMBLE IS EASILY THE HARDEST." Papyrus said.

"what? really, dude? that easy-peasy word scramble? that's for baby bones." sans said.

"UN. BELIEVABLE." Papyrus said while narrowing his eyes at Sans.

"HUMAN!! SOLVE THIS DISPUTE!!!" Papyrus exclaimed.

(Which is harder?)

Junior Jumble/Crossword

"Uhm... Crossword?" You said in a panic.

"YOU TWO ARE WEIRD! CROSSWORDS ARE SO EASY! TOO EASY!!! IT'S THE SAME SOLUTION EVERY TIME! I JUST FILL ALL THE BOXES WITH THE LETTER 'Z'... BECAUSE EVERY TIME I LOOK AT A CROSSWORD... ALL I CAN DO IS SNORE!!! NWEH-HEH-HEH!" Papyrus said and walked off.

You continued after Papyrus, but he somehow disappeared. You saw a note, a plate of spaghetti, a microwave, and a save point. You went over to the note.

'It's a note from Papyrus...'

"HUMAN! PLEASE ENJOY THIS SPAGHETTI!! (...LITTLE DO YOU KNOW THIS SPAGHETTI IS INDEED A TRAP! DESIGNED TO ENTICE YOU!!! YOU'LL BE SO BUSY EATING IT... THAT YOU WON'T REALIZE THAT YOU ARE NOT PROGRESSING! THOROUGHLY JAPED AGAIN BY THE GREAT AND NOBLE PAPYRUS!!!) -NWEH-HEH-HEH, PAPYRUS." You read aloud.

You walked over to the save point and saved.

Oh dear God.

I read over the first few chapters again and I hate this. It's just... so bad. I know I'm not that much better at writing now, but like, come on. I might rewrite this later but it would take a while since I'd like to have a few chapters ready. Sorry, but I can't just go back and edit it at this point, it's to far gone.
