Chapter Text
(Dawkins sat at his desk, drawing out another blueprint for a machine that was going to no doubt help his family. He scribbled away, not really paying attention to anything… He was alone. The house was empty, though he couldn’t say why… He didn’t recall anything important happening that day. Oh well. Don’t question a day of piece and quiet. He was questioning why he couldn’t read what he was writing though, not a lick of it made sense. He just continued though, Though, he couldn’t say why about that, either. Like it was just what he was supposed to be doing…
Suddenly, the lights flickered. A few flickers and they went out.)
Dawkins. “Oh, kibbles! No good at all!” (He got up. Oddly enough, he could see just fine, but only that it was dark. He headed down to the basement to fumble with the breakers. Down the hall, into the kitchen, and there he was…)
Dawkins. “Shouldn’t be a problem.” (He flipped the breaker switch.)
(Nothing.)
Dawkins. “Hmm… Something isn’t right.” (He scanned the room with his flashlight… The one he didn’t remember bringing with him… And looked around the room…)
(And that’s when he saw it.)
(Now, this should have been the last straw…. But he didn’t care… There, on the ground… Was a shape he’d recognize anywhere… A spherical body… Poofy hair. Tentacles and a single, blue eye…)
(He rushed over and grabbed her.)
Dawkins. “Princess Positron! You-You’re okay! Intact, I mean! H-How is that possible!? Is it really you?”
(He pulled her String.)
Princess Positron. “Positronly!”
(Dawkins laughed and hugged the doll tightly.)
Dawkins. (Tearfully.) “Oh, Princess. You’ve no idea how much I’ve missed you! All the sleep I lost. All the times I wanted to talk to someone who understood me… I’m just so happy you’re back!”
(He pulled her string again.)
Princess Positron. “Positronly!”
(For a moment, Dawkins just sat there, hugging his beloved doll…)
Princess Positron. “Do you love me?”
Dawkins. “Of course I do.”
Princess Positron. “Really, Dawkins? Do you mean it?”
Dawkins. “Of course I do.”
Princess Positron. “…….Then why’d you let her kill me?”
Dawkins. “What? I never let…” (And then Dawkins remembered something rather important…)
(The past minute or so. He had been talking to Princess Positron…)
(She had been talking to him…)
(But in that minute or so…)
(He never pulled her string!!!!)
(Dawkins pulled the doll away from him.)
Dawkins. “What did you just say?”
Princess Positron. “Why did you let her kill me, Dawkins. Don’t you remember? On the boat? That awful woman took me and put me in her machine? Don’t you remember?”
Dawkins. “What… I… Yes… I do remember that now… How did you…”
Princess Positron. “Why, Dawkins? Why didn’t you do anything? She just opened the cage, and took me… You did nothing about it…”
Dawkins. “I…I…I didn’t know…”
Princess Positron. “Dying hurts, Dawkins. Did you know that? Being shredded to pieces REALLY hurts… But you wouldn’t know… YOU and everyone else got out… I didn’t!”
(Dawkins was now frozen with fear. All knowledge in his brain that this was impossible had vanished.)
Princess Positron. “And you know what else?...” (Her eye, usually staring forward…)
(LOOKED STRAIGHT AT HIM….)
Princess Positron. “IT STILL HURTS, DAWKINS!!!!” (Dawkins screamed as the dolls eye turned blood-red! Blood began oozing from its eye, and soon, the very seams of the doll’s stitching! In panic, he dropped her.)
(BUT SHE JUST GOT UP!)
“IT ALWAYS HURTS, DAWKINS! NO MATTER WHAT! I ALWAYS FEEL THE PAIN OF BEING RIPPED APART, OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER AGAIN! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT’S LIKE?!?!?
DO YOU?!?!?”
Dawkins. “Please! I, I didn’t know!!!!”
(The doll stopped… It stood there for a moment…And then she began… Shaking… Her body began convulsing…)
Princess Positron. “Don’t worry, Dawkins…”
(And tiny, scalpels sprouted from her tentacles….)
(And she looked up at him… And with her own lips…)
“YOU Will….”
(And the last thing Dawkins did was scream in horror as a she leapt at his face…)
