Shinichi is happy, content and at this moment he has everything he needs. The love of his life is right next to him, while he drives down the road. He can't help but steal glances at her as her long hair is blowing in the open window of the car. A smile is etched on his face as he is clearly smitten by his passenger seat.
“You should keep your eyes on the road.” she softly tells him, her ears are burning red as she is very aware of the loving gazes he sends her way.
“Don’t worry” he replies “I’ll never let anything happen to you.”
“I know.” She turns and looks at him. “But it will make me feel so much better if you keep your eyes on the road.”
“If that’s what you want.” He reaches for her hand and intertwines it with his.
“Shinichi…” She gave him a warning.
“My eyes are on the road,” he replies.
“Your hand…”
He hums and gives it a soft squeeze.
“ I need my hand back.” she tries again.
“I think you can lend it to me.” he counters as he slows down to a stop. He brings their joined hands up to his lips, softly murmured words against her skin before pressing his lips against her hand.
“Idiot,” she mumbles as she tries to take her hand back. Her eyes met his, and her heart skips a beat.
“Eyes on the road.” She breaks the eye contact and looks straight ahead.
“Eyes on the road.” He repeated, smiling as they drove aimlessly into the night.
