Summary:

Gojo loves painting you. (Painter AU)

Notes:

Wrote this on a whim but I think this may be one of my favorite works of myself now. Makes me miss painting. Should I go back to painting and drawing?

Work Text:

“Sit still, princess. Just like that. I want this one to be perfect,” Satoru orders. The brush in his hands dances across the canvas elegantly, spreading the most vibrant colors on the whiteness. With this, Satoru is completely in his element: painting.
Obediently, you sit as still as possible. Tilting your head slightly, as he wanted you to, you gaze out of the window right behind him. The sunset right before your eyes.
The scratching sound of the bristles is the only sound in the room. It feels nostalgic and you can’t help but to think of the many times he asked you to model for him.

“Aren’t you a pretty one? The prettiest. And just for me to enjoy like this, isn’t that right, sweets?”
The praises for you seem to roll off his tongue as he mixes two colors on his artist palette, an artwork on its own if you will, with his brush. A smile stretches your lips as you nod.
“Ah-ah, I said to stay still,” he reminds you, attempting to sound harsh but you know exactly: when he’s in his mood, he always sounds so soft.

He hums a pleasant tune.

Satoru looks focused, so very focused, brows slightly knitting together but you can tell he enjoys this a lot from the way his cerulean eyes seem to glimmer even more than usual. Like a deep blue in the clear sky.
A pleased look graces his features as his hand works its magic on the once-blank canvas in front of him. You can’t see it but you are sure it looks gorgeous. It always does whenever he paints you.

“Say, Satoru, why do you enjoy painting me so much?” you ask after a while, curiosity sparking. The man blinks at you from underneath the tinted shades he wears. For a moment, he halts all his movements, thinking of what to say.

“I’m afraid I don’t know how to explain it in proper words,” he finally admits.

“I feel at peace when I do. Drawing and painting you, it feels… like watching the serene sea. Although we’re just at home, physically speaking at least, doing this feels like embarking on a journey with you, every time. I feel alive. It’s a thrill, yet it envelops me in a cloak of calmness at the same time.
I like the way the sun caresses your skin when you sit like this in front of me, even more than usual; makes you even more ethereal. I love the way I can just bask in your beauty in peace.
Makes me feel the need to capture every detail about you. It’s a sensation I never experience with other works, but only when you’re in front of me. It’s bewitching.
In simple words, I’m saying that you are my muse and inspiration,” Satoru describes, his brush back on the canvas.

“It’s almost like I’m finding the magic in the colors of you.”
