It was the most lovely evening. Wanda was adorned in a beautiful red dress, one that matched the same red as Vision’s skin. It was long, accentuating her figure. She also had on a simple pair of silver earrings and a matching necklace to accessorize. Vision was beside her, in the finest suit she had ever seen him in. The navy jacket worked well against the red of his skin, also working well to bring out the blue in his eyes. It made her smile as she gazed at him, feeling so in love with the synthetic man in front of her. It was all so tranquil, it was like they were the only two people in existence there. It was truly a dream.
“Wanda, please, come with me love. There’s a gorgeous view up ahead” Vision said as he took Wanda’s hand, as though to lead her. Wanda followed him, squeezing his hand in hers. Once they reached their destination, Vision turned towards Wanda, unable to help his own loving smile at the woman before him. Wanda felt his gaze and couldn't help but smile, turning toward him and pulling him to her by his suit coat. His hands came to rest on her waist, while her hands moved to rest behind his neck as she pulled him closer, their lips about to meet in a tender kiss when it happened.
It was so sudden. It seemed as soon as her eyes began to flutter closed, her lips just reaching Vision’s, he began to crumble in her hands. It surprised her, her eyes opening in horror as she watched his body turn to dust in her hands. “No... Vis, please, no!” She cried as she helplessly could only feel the dust in her hands and watch as it settled onto the floor in front of her. She fell to her knees, her fingers desperately raking through them as though she could form him again from what remained. Tears began rolling down her cheeks, her sobs trapped in her throat as she continued, persistent with her fingers in his ashes.
It was as sudden as Vision had turned to ash, Wanda woke from the nightmare, tears in her eyes as she sat up and looked around the room blearily. Her sudden movement woke the synthezoid next to her, who looked up at her and asked softly “Darling..? Are you alright?” His blue eyes studying her face for a moment as he sat up. Vision’s expression was that of clear concern, as one hand reached and gently began to wipe away the stray tears from her eyes. “Vis..” Wanda breathed with relief, her hand grabbing onto his that was brushing away her tears. “I had a nightmare... you turned to dust in my hands....” she sniffled softly as she leaned into his comforting touch. Vision’s heart broke at the expression on her face. His other hand moved to rest on her other cheek, his face leaned in closer to hers, his lips pressing against her forehead reassuringly. “I’m right here darling. I won’t be going anywhere, as long as I can help it” Vision said as he looked deep into her eyes, a gentle and loving smile on his lips. Wanda couldn’t help but return the smile, leaning in to brush her lips against his. They kissed in a gentle way, one full of love and care. Vision pulled away after a few moments, his gaze soft as he stared at Wanda. “Do you want to talk more about your dream, my love?” He asked softly as he gazed into her eyes. Wanda gently shook her head, pressing another kiss to his lips with relief. “I just want you to stay with me. That’s all I need” She said with a soft smile, pulling herself against him. Vision understood, wrapping his arms protectively around her “I won’t let you go darling. I love you” “I love you too Vision. So much” Wanda’s head rested on his chest, the sound of his heartbeat bringing her comfort. It allowed her to relax against him as her arms came to rest behind his back, her legs tangling with his own.
Vision listened as the sound of her breathing began to slow, feeling as Wanda began to relax against him. He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head, feeling the smile that formed on her lips as she pulled him closer, as though he were about to phase out of her arms. Vision counted the seconds until she fully fell back asleep against him, it taking approximately 615 for her to fall unconscious against him. Once she was fully settled, he smiled gently and whispered quietly, more to himself than her, “I will be here for you. I won’t let you go if I can help it, darling”. Vision then shut his own eyes, allowing himself to go into sleep mode.
