He awoke when the sun started rising.
Honey-gold rays of sunlight crept between the gaps of the blinds, filling the bedroom of Boyfriend's small apartment with it's warm glow. On most mornings, he'd curse the light for interrupting his slumber, blaming his night-owl tendencies or his ADHD for the fatigue he'd feel until the early afternoon. However, he enjoyed being awake early on Saturdays; with the reason for his happiness curled up next to him, still in a blissful state of sleep.
He looked at Girlfriend, who was using his chest as her pillow, most likely comforted by the sound of his heartbeat. Somewhere within the night, she must've moved, as her arms were gently wrapped around his torso, and her legs hooked around his left knee. He could feel that her tail was wrapped around the ankle of that same leg as well. It was a bit of a shock to him when he first found out that she had her parents demonic traits, but he wasn't fazed for long. After all, she may be a demon, but she was still the most beautiful and kind person he's ever met.
He placed a hand in her auburn hair, gently playing with the curls. To Boyfriend, his favorite part of his Friday nights with her wasn't rap battling anyone her dad sent his way, or what would happen after he beat them. His favorite part was the Saturday morning snuggles that followed, knowing that they both had nowhere to go and nothing better to do than to spend a few lazy hours in each other's embraces.
With a small hum, Girlfriend opened her eyes, moving her head to face her cyan haired partner.
"Mornin'." She mumbled, giving him a small peck on the cheek.
"Mornin'." He repeated back.
"Any plans?"
"Snuggles? And then breakfast?"
She chuckled, giving him another kiss, this time on the lips.
"I like the sound of that."
