Work Text:
Kuro.
I miss you.
Somehow, this feels less embarrassing than saying it in person. Even though writing a letter is as embarrassing as saying it. Seriously, I shouldn't have listened to Akaashi when he told me it was going to be more "sentimental" if I wrote it instead of simply texting it to you. It feels too cheesy, almost as if I'm doing something that you'd do.
Which you totally would. You're such a sap.
Anyways, I know that I never really express myself. But that's because I know that you know how I feel. Sometimes all we need is a glance and we already know what the other one is thinking, because we're that cool.
But you're not here. And i can no longer simply look out for you and try to decipher whether you're concentrating or if you're really upset about that volleyball game we lost earlier.
I no longer have you by my side to help me avoid crashing onto something when I'm playing while walking.
I no longer have to listen to your stupid bickering with Yaku and whether he likes this or he likes that.
I no longer have you by my side at home watching me play video games.
I
no longer have you to walk me to school.
And that sucks.
It sucks that I always bump into something because I'm so used to having you by my side, and it has become something so natural to me, that I forget that you're no longer there to prevent me from crashing. It sucks that I have to be the one to remember to eat breakfast and be the one to dry my hair. You used to do that too.
I hate that you're not here anymore.
And it sounds dramatic, because you're not dead. You're at the university, but when we've been always together for more than 10 years, it hurts as hell.
... Do you miss me like I miss you? Don't answer that. I don't want to know.
In your graduation, when we were at the gym and I set to you for the last time, I almost confessed.
But as you already know, I didn't. Because I'm a coward and, like Tora says, I have no "guts."
Huh, that's stupid. Forget that.
I'm still a coward, though.
I wanted to tell you how much you mean to me. Kuro, you've done so much for me and I an infinitely thankful for that. You have no idea how every single little thing that you did to me or for me always managed to make my day.
Or maybe I'm just whipped.
I'm no longer scared to tell you my feelings. I mean, of course I am. I'm terrified. But deep down, I know you feel the same way. Or at least that's what I like to think.
Kuro, I love you.
I love you so much that it hurts.
And I miss you.
Come back.
Please?
Come visit when you can.
- Kenma.
