Days Long Passed

Summary:

Oliver's days in the asylum are anything but short and are hard to forget.

Notes:

After struggling with writer's block and lack of motivation for quite sometime I'm happy to post this.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Oliver sat at the table farthest from the other patients, but as he was about to eat his lunch one of the orderlies approached him, a smirk spread across his face.

"Hey, freak! Enjoying your lunch?"

Oliver glared at the man, his long, rabbit like ears sweeping back.

"What's wrong? Brain so fucked up you can't speak anymore," the orderlie continued.

Oliver huffed and turned his attention back to his food, determined not to give the man a reaction.

"Didn't your mama ever teach you to pay attention to those who talk to you?" the orderlie barked, his pointed dog ears lowering.

Hearing those words caused Oliver's blood to boil and he glared at the man again, the reddish orange star like embers glowing in his amber eyes. Noticing this the orderlie smirked, "Ah, looks like I finally got your attention," he remarked, his tail wagging. Oliver's lips curled back revealing his sharp fangs and slightly pointed teeth as he snarled.

"Whoa, haha! Now we're getting somewhere, huh?" the dog taunted.

Oliver's long, deep auburn hair fuzzed up and the fur on his cat like tail bristled.

"You really think you can take me on, Mama's Boy?" the orderlie continued.

A deep growl ripped from Oliver's throat as he jumped over the table with ease and lunged at the dog, trying to grab hold of his throat.

"I ain't no Mama's Boy!" the cabbit growled.

Just as he got ahold of the dog, he was grabbed by his shirt collar and forced to turn around, making him face to face with another orderlie.

"What do you think you're doing?" the man growled while glaring daggers at Oliver.

Noticing the man's stature and how his animal features resembled that of a bear the cabbit's ears sagged and his eyes lost their menacing glow.

"Well, aren't you gonna answer me, beast?" the grizzly orderlie sneered, his lips curling back and revealing his much larger fangs.

Oliver gulped and his body began trembling. A smirk spread across the bear's face, "Not so tough now, are you?" he remarked, noticing how the cabbit's tail went between his legs.

Feeling ashamed, Oliver averted his eyes and though he couldn't see the orderlies he could hear their insults and mocking laughter. Oliver's head snapped up when they began to move him and upon seeing a certain door in the institution his eyes widened.

"Hey, now. Don't be like that. You know that a monster like you deserves this," the bear remarked as Oliver began to try and escape his grasp.

"Yeah, especially since you tried to harm me," the dog added, rubbing the area Oliver had grabbed earlier.

As the dog opened up the door to the padded room Oliver began to try and escape even more.

"Thrash around all you want but you're not escaping this time," the bear growled as he gripped Oliver tighter.

At this action, Oliver growled and bit down on the man's arm, drawing blood. Angered, the bear shoved Oliver against the wall harshly, causing him to let go and fall to the floor.

"You okay, man?" the dog asked his friend, wincing at the blood dripping from his arm.

"Yeah. This monster can just rot in solitary confinement for all I care!" the bear remarked as he shoved Oliver into the room.

Two sinister grins was all Oliver saw before unconsciousness claimed him.

I plan to write a second part to this, but it'll probably get darker.
