“Yes,” She said, rolling her eyes, “I’ll go on a date with you.” James jumped up from the seat he had taken besides Lily. “Wait really?” He exclaimed. A grin formed on his face, anyone at Hogwarts could see the award-winning smile everyone fawned over.
“Yes.” She took a bite of her toast and resumed speaking to Mary and Marlene.
James ran over to the other side of the table to his fellow Marauders. “She said yes! Lily said yes!” Remus looked up at James, choking on his food.
“It’s about time.” Sirius chuckled, “She can’t resist you.”
Peter quickly glanced over at Lily and her friends, “Seems like she’s excited too.”
James’ grin widened and stared lovingly at Lily. “Moony, Padfoot, Wormtail, do you still have ‘James Potter’s Guide to Being the Best-est Boyfriend (Lily, if you’re reading this, hi!)’?”
Sirius roared with laughter and Peter soon followed suit. Remus rolled his eyes, “Prongs, I don’t even remember my birthday half the time.”
James bounced in his seat, “Sirius please” He begged.
“Of course I still have it Prongs.” Sirius placed his bag on the table and pulled out the notebook. “Here you go Prongsie.”
James snatched the notebook from Sirius and flipped to the page entitled ‘Lily and I’s First Date’ He skimmed down the same page and found what he was looking for. “Okay, here’s the plan. First, we play Quidditch. Then, we drink butterbeer!”
Remus howled with laughter. “It’s a date for you and Lily, not just you!” He continued to laugh, “How about you ask the M’s for help, they’re her best friends after all.”
“No need!” Sirius chuckled, “He has all he needs right here!” He pointed to a poor drawing of Lily in a Quidditch uniform.
James stood up, “If you blokes aren’t going to be any help, I’m going to the dorm.” He shook his head at them and walked away from the table.
As he walked towards the dorm, he continued to skim down the page. He eventually found the perfect date idea and smiled to himself. ‘I hope Lily enjoys a picnic on the Quidditch field! And lilies....’
