Bruce can barely remember life before coming here.
All he remembers is Thor. The god of thunder. The son of Asgard.
Oh and yeah that place is real.
He is very fond of Thor’s mother,Frigga.
She kinda reminds him of aunt Cecilia.
He does miss working at the university,but the work he’s been doing here in Asgard for the past 17 years has never had bruce felt more full.
“Bruce,you’re doing it again.” Thor said in that knowing tone.
Bruce blinked twice and then looked at his love.
“Sorry,thor what were you saying?” Bruce asked brushing a stray blonde strand out of Thor’s face.
“I said do you wish to venture with me to Midgard?” The younger man pushed.
Bruce sighed heavily. He knows that thor has been trying to get the older man to take a breather.
“I promise you Asgard can stand to be without us for a minute.” Thor coaxed.
“Ok thor,ok.” Bruce’s face lifted into a grin. Which thor found most pleasing.
Bruce didn’t want to think about how easily he yielded to thor but both men knew that he was more than ok with it.
“ so where to?” Bruce asked as thor signaled to heimdall to turn the key.
Before he could blink they touched down in San Francisco. At Bruce’s old house.
“It was the work of agent coulson and his Ilk.” Thor revealed. “You had them fix my house?” Bruce asked.
“We needed some where to stay during our time here,you always spoke so fondly of this place.” Thor answered.
Bruce kissed thor square on the mouth.
“You didn’t have to do that,my prince.” Bruce’s heart was beaming.
“I only wish to see you happy,bruce.” Thor said brushing Bruce’s curls behind his ear.
Thor went to the mantle and picked up a picture.
“Who is this?” He asked. “My mother.” Bruce said happily.
“It’s nice to finally see the wonderful woman I kept hearing about.” Bruce took the picture from thor and a tear fell from his eyes.
“The good memories that I have of her are coming to me in my dreams.” Bruce said proudly.
“You look so much like her, the resemblance is striking.” Thor mused.
“That makes me feel so happy to know that.” Bruce said.” Mother would have loved you.”
“It would have been a honor to have met your mother.” Thor said proudly.
There was a knock at the door and Thor shushed bruce.
He took out Mjölnir ready to strike.
Bruce steadied himself and went to the door he looked out the window and smiled. “I can’t believe it.”
Thor looked confused. “It’s my old friend,rankin.”
Bruce opened the door. “It’s really you.” Rankin breathed out.
“Yeah, I’m alive.” Bruce happy to see his old friend.
“Umm, whose your friend?” Rankin asks. Bruce thinks quick. “This is Donald Blake, my boyfriend.” He says quickly.
Thor looks on confused at why bruce lied to his friend.
Bruce isn’t sure what’s going on and why some random secret agent fixed up his house but he is in for some weird shit and he’s just glad that thor is by his side.

bruce reunites with jen.

bruce had been back in san fran for over a year,but he still felt like he was on another planet. the one thing that made this more bearable was the fact that he had thor.
the younger man really did keep bruce centered and for that he was very grateful. a month after the couple's return to earth, bruce was reunited with his beloved cousin,Jennifer.
before everything went to hell and on one of the few times bruce and rebecca left the base,they would go to idaho and visit her sister,elaine.
bruce and jen were inseparable as children,they even stayed in touch after the incident at the base.
bruce sat on the porch in the swing reading when he heard some music blaring and a candy red blur zip by the house before backing up and the radio stops.
a blonde woman gets out of the convertible first giving a quick wave. "hey trish good to see you." bruce said putting down his book.
"hey cousin!" jen said pressing down on her little black dress and giving her long green tresses a toss. bruce came down the steps and gathered his cousin in a hug.
"when i got your call,i was surprised." she said as the three of them went into the house. "last i heard you and handsome out there were still in asgard."
"well,it was nice to get away for a bit." bruce said smiling." thor felt like we needed a breather and i'm glad i listened to him."
"how long you stayin on this side of the universe?" trish asked. "i don't know to be honest,i'm kinda just takin it one day at a time."bruce revealed.
the door to the backyard slid open and thor came into the kitchen with a pan full of meat. "oh i didn't realize we have company." he said setting the pan on the stove.
"nice to meet you." jennifer said." i'm jennifer,bruce's cousin." thor extended his hand and jen shook it. "thor,son of odin." he said.
"this is my girlfriend, trish." jen said introducing her. "welcome to our humble abode." thor said."i'm glad i threw all of this meat on the grill."
"jen's vegan." bruce and trish said in unison. " i put some vegetables on the grill too." thor said to them.
jennifer laughed. "don't worry about it thor,i'm sure they'll taste delicious." thor and trish began setting up the table while bruce and jen talked.
"have you talked to aunt Cecilia?" jen asked. "yes,she wants to come out here and visit during the summer." bruce revealed.
"mom,had been meaning to call her and thank her for taking you in." jen said grabbing bruce's hand.
"she's always told me that the family didn't blame me for what happened with dad." bruce said playing with his mother's pendant.
"is there anything else of aunt becca's beside the necklace?" jen asked. "you know it's funny." bruce began." the day thor and I arrived, i contacted robbie."
"one the boys that you hung out with at the base?" jen supplied. "yes,his mom apparently had some of mom's things and he held on to them." bruce answered.
"he sent them to me in the mail." bruce said. bruce held up his hand. "mother's wedding ring." jen squeezed bruce's hand.
"i know that must have been a weight lifted off of your shoulders." jennifer said happily.
"yes,it was." bruce said with a smile." i'm just glad to have all the things that were hers."
"my only wish." bruce started. "is that thor could have met her." jen finished.
"well aunt becca would have loved the beefcake that's for sure." jen said looking over at trish and thor.
bruce chuckled at that. "i'm just glad that your back,Jen." bruce says. "i Missed you everyday i was in asgard."
"i'm glad that your back too cousin." jen replied. thor called the cousins over and the two couples sat down to enjoy their meal.
during the meal,jen and trish regaled the guys with tales about their exploits as heroes in LA.
and in turn the boys rehashed their own adventures in asgard.
when the meal was over jennifer and trish took their leave. "bruce,were gonna have together soon." jen said as trish opened the door and walked out.
"yes, we are." bruce agreed." can't let anymore time pass before i see you again."
the cousins hugged and then jen was out the door.
"i do hope we see them again" thor said sitting on the couch. "oh we will." bruce said." i'm not gonna let time pass by and i not see her."
"no we will not." thor declared. "i promise you,bruce we will see jennifer again."
bruce smiled at his boyfriend as they sat on the couch. "i know thor." he replied.

Bruce turned the key and opened the door. he had already taken the mail out of the mailbox and threw it on the kitchen table.
there was only one thing on his mind right now, thor's homemade blueberry muffins he made from scratch.
Bruce was willing to admit that when thor started cooking and baking, the older man became obsessed.
he loved that thor put so much love and care in everything he baked.
Bruce stopped at the kitchen table and saw a light blue envelope with dr.Bruce Krenzler written on it.
he picked it up and opened it.
it was from his alma mater, John F. Kennedy high school.
he heard Thor's footsteps and then felt the younger man place his hands on the Older's hips and Thor's chin on Bruce's shoulder.
"what's that?" Thor asked. "Apparently, it's my high school reunion this Saturday." Bruce explained.
"we're supposed to visit your aunt." Thor threw out. "surely, it wouldn't hurt to go this reunion."
"i wasn't exactly friends with these people." bruce said," as a matter of fact, i couldn't stand half of the bastards."
"but, I'm in a good place." Bruce said mostly to himself. " i got you, my aunt, my Cousin, Jennifer."
Thor turned bruce around so that he could look at him. " I Will go with whatever you decide, Bruce."
Thor caressed Bruce's face and the older man's defenses came down. "we can go, just for a little bit." Bruce said.

The plane ride from San Francisco to Idaho was one of great dread, but also calming reassurance for Bruce.
he hadn't seen aunt Cecilia in so long, he hoped that she hadn't forgotten about him, he knocked on the door.
Cecilia opened the door. "Bruce, son you're home?" she said standing there.
"yes, we've been talking on the phone so much." Bruce answered. "It's nice hearing your voice, but it's wonderful to see your face."
Cecilia grabbed Bruce and hugged him tight, sobbing.
she let bruce go and opened her eyes. "who is this?" she asked bruce. "Thor,SON OF ODIN." He said proudly.
"we've been together a long time,auntie." bruce said."he kinda beamed me to asgard when i was in south america."
"your son has been the greatest love of my life, and i've been alive for along time." thor said to cecilia.
"thank you,Thor." she said as he held her hand. "All I've Wanted Was For Bruce To Be Happy."
"how long do you boys plan on staying?" cecilia asked.
"with you we'll stay as long as we need to." bruce said." but were going to the reunion on saturday."
"are you sure about that son?" she asked him. "yes ma'am." bruce said." as long as thor's with me there's nothing i can't weather."
"we'll weather it together,my love." thor declared.
cecilia smiled at the boys,feeling immense pride.

aunt Cecilia's car came to a stop and Bruce took a deep breath before turning off the engine.
thor took bruce's hand in his and kissed the back. "i'm right here, Bruce."
"thank you, Thor." bruce said." you being here makes this so much more bearable."
bruce walked the halls of the school and those pesky memories came flooding back full force.
"as a young man,i was so clumsy." Bruce began." so unsure of who i was and where i fit in the world."
"and now?" thor asked looking at a class photo from 74. "now i know who i am." Bruce said with certainty.
" I am Doctor Bruce David Banner and I'm The Incredible Hulk." Bruce said with his hands on his hips.
"it's so funny, you used to hate being called that." Thor said. "it's kind of grown on me." Bruce said.
the guys heard music coming from gym. Bruce grabbed Thor's hand and ran toward the gym.
the double doors opened and the guys went through. two women came up to them.
"Bruce Krenzler." the blonde one said." well look at you."
"Amanda." Bruce said giving her a little grin." nice to see you."
"you remember tamara." Amanda said. " you two were one of the few people i could count on."
"whose the beefcake?" tamara asked. "Thor odinson." Thor said."i'm spoken for,"
Thor placed his hand on Bruce's chest and gave the girls a wink. "how did you bag him?" Amanda asked.
"we met on a trip a couple of years ago." Bruce said." that trip changed my life."
"I didn't think i'd meet the man of my dreams, but here we are." thor said clutching bruces' arm.
bruce turned the brightest shade of red at Thor's words. "so, what have you been up to?" tamara asked.
"well, I'm still working at Berkley." Bruce said. "i heard about the incident that happened there." tamara said.
"that was so long ago." Bruce reminded."i barely remember what happened." "well, it was all over the news." Amanda said.
"you know, Bruce." Amanda held out her hand. " i think she wants your phone." Thor said. Bruce handed it to her.
she went to his contacts and added herself to them and then handed it back to Bruce. "i don't know how long you two will be in town." amanda baited.
"we'll be sticking around for awhile." Bruce said. "haven't seen my aunt in so long." "we'll stay for as long as we can stay." Thor said." i like this little town."
"well, it's official you two are coming over for dinner." Amanda said. "you can't say no to her." tamara said. "I've tried, it's hopeless."
a song came on and Bruce turned to Thor. "i love this song." he took both of Thor's hands and led him to the dance floor.
the two men danced together. Bruce looked up into Thor's eyes and saw nothing but love.
"gotta find you something to wear, similar to what you have on right now." Bruce said. "the dinner isn't until Saturday." thor said.
"i know, just trying to be prepared." bruce said. "i love that about you." thor said kissing bruce on the forehead.
"and i love your lust for life." bruce said." i love how open you are to all it's possibilities." the two men danced the night away.
bruce had dreaded coming to the reunion, but now he sees that he had nothing to worry about. he had a wonderful time and it bought up some pretty good memories.
Chapter 5: DINNER

"I think it's the blue house on the right." Thor says scrolling through his phone.
Bruce pulled into the driveway of the blue house and was met with the sight of tamara waving at them.
"Glad you boys could make it." she said as Bruce and Thor walked up the sidewalk and up the steps.
she opened the front door. "guests first." bruce and thor walked into the house.
"thank you for inviting us into your home." Thor said.
Amanda came out of the kitchen and walked up to the guys hugging them both.
"glad, you're here." she said motioning for them to sit on the couch.
they obliged. "just waiting for Erik to get here." Amanda said handing Bruce and Thor glasses of wine.
"and erik is?" bruce asked. "he's my best friend from elementary school." Amanda said. "we grew up in the same neighborhood."
the doorbell rang and amanda got up.
“that's him now." she said excitedly. she got up and went to the front door.
she opened it and was picked up off the floor by a man. Bruce had to think about it for a minute.
he remembered t'challa telling him about someone named killmonger who had come to Wakanda to challenge him for the throne.
and now Bruce sees t'challa holding hands with this man and kissing him on the lips.
Bruce decides to go up to his friend and investigate.
"hey t'challa." Bruce says. "Bruce, my friend." t'challa says gathering him in a hug.
“how do you know, Amanda?"
"she was the only friend i had at my high school. "Bruce said. " the reunion was earlier this week."
"t'challa,is that the incredible hulk?" Erik said as he came up to them.
"the incredible hulk?" Amanda asked.
"Yeah, I'm with the avengers." Bruce said." we both are."
“Bruce likes the name now." thor said." at first he hated being called that."
"oh my gosh, i forgot the cake in the car." Thor said. "what kind of cake?" erik asked.
"it's a chocolate strawberry cake." thor said.
he went to get the keys and walked out of the house. "so he tried to take the throne?" bruce asked. "tried being the operative word." t'challa answered.
”so what?" bruce asked.
"i gave him a second chance." T'challa answered. "asked him to stay in Wakanda."
"so is that when you got together?" Bruce prodded. "yes, that is when we got together." t'challa said with a smile.
"the wedding was spectacular." Bruce said. "sorry about Erik." t'challa said.
"he means well." Bruce said. "anyone who thinks I'm cool is alright in my book."
the door opened and Thor came back in with two trays.
Erik was trailing behind him with a cake dish.
“ hey baby, Thor says that the chocolate he used in this cake is from asgard." Erik said.
"the chocolate from asgard is outrageous." Bruce said." i love it."
Erik sat the cake dish in the middle of the table.
Amanda came from the kitchen with the roast and the mashed potatoes. Thor came next to her. "may I?" he asked.
"be careful their hot." she said. "I'll be fine, Amanda." Thor said." I'm the god of thunder."
Amanda giggled at his moniker. "who came up with that?" she asked.
"I don't know." Thor said. "it just kinda stuck."
"come everyone, the food is ready." Thor said. Thor started to plate up the food and hand them off to Amanda who sent them around the table.
the group sat down to eat. "t'challa,i hope that you and Erik will make your way towards San Francisco soon." Bruce said. "it's been awhile since we got together."
"Erik, would you mind making a detour to San Francisco?" T'challa asked his husband. "No,I wouldn't mind." Erik said. "I would love to see them again."
"we would love to have you." Bruce agreed. the friends carried on with their dinner. relishing in their newfound closeness.
Chapter 6
Summary:
Jennifer and Trish return to san fran.
the past returns.

Bruce couldn't remember how he got here, there was smoke every where.
he couldn't see Thor but he felt his presence.
there was a battle taking place. he didn't know who was winning and who was losing.
everything was a blur, but then all he saw was lightning clearing the smoke.
in the wake of the smoke, there stood Thor. sweating, panting.
his hair in a messy bun. the top half of his costume burned off.
sweat rolling down his chest and his big round belly.
Mjölnir glowing brighter then Bruce had ever seen it.
Bruce looked at his boyfriend's face, he was smiling and his eyes glowing white.
this scene wrought before him was something he never experienced before.
Bruce looked down and was met with giant green feet, giant green hands. he picked up a broken piece of glass and saw the reflection of his hulk form.
he saw a giant green hand come up to touch his face in the reflection.
Thor came to him and lifted his chin so that Bruce saw the loving face of the man before him.
"behold what our love can accomplish." Thor's voice boomed. “We are immortal."
"you came into my life at the right time,Odinson." Bruce said.
"is that so?" thor asked. "very much so." Bruce answered. "i'm in awe of what love can do."
"Our love." Thor corrected.
"yes, our love." Bruce said placing his hand on Thor's cheek. the Asgardian leaning into the touch.
Bruce then sees him and Thor on the battlefield embracing, rejoicing after their victory.

Bruce wakes from his dream or was it a memory? these days he can hardly tell the difference.
he looks over and sees the bed empty.
then he smells the food. Thor is cooking breakfast. Bruce sits up and looks under the covers.
“Where are they?" he says getting out of the bed.
"oh." he picks his briefs up off of the floor and puts them on.
he walks out the bedroom and into the kitchen.
"oh good, you're awake." Thor said. Bruce went to the counter and poured himself a cup of coffee.
"i will never tire of this." Bruce said taking a sip. "
“of what?" Thor said bringing their plates to the table.
they kiss. "of you in my kitchen, wearing that atrocious apron." Bruce said.
Thor looked down at the apron and it read. :God of the Kitchen with Mjolnir under it.
"you said it was cute." Thor reminded Bruce. "it's only cute when you're wearing it." Bruce said.
"so are you ready?" Thor asked.
"for what?" Bruce said. "your cousin will be here tomorrow." Thor reminded him.
"shit,I Forgot." Bruce said.
"i told Jen that tomorrow would be great." Bruce said." is it not?" Thor asked.
"no, that's not the problem." Bruce said. "Hold on."
Bruce goes through his phone and looks up bucky. he dials him.
"Hello?" bucky picks up. "Hey bucky, are you and Steve at the tower?" Bruce asks.
"No, Steve wanted to go home, and we've been here ever since." bucky said." you could try tony."
"No,rhodey finally got him to go on vacation." Bruce said. "what's up?" bucky prodded. "
“Just wanted to know if there is anything happening right now." Bruce baited.
"nope,there's nothing going on as far as i know." bucky answered. "oh ok." Bruce said sighing.
they said their goodbyes and hung up.
"were you looking for an excuse to cancel with Jennifer?" Thor asked.
"no, never that." Bruce said. "just that every time i turn around we have to stop everything to go stop some major world ending event from happening."
"and you just want time to spend with family." Thor put together.
"yeah." Bruce said. "let's go,we have to get dressed."
Bruce took Thor by the hand and they went back to the bedroom to get dressed.
there was a knock at the door.
Bruce went into the living room pulling on his shirt. he opened the door and there was Jennifer.
"Jen?" Bruce said surprised." I thought you were coming tomorrow."
“I was but I didn't want to take a chance that you would leave today." Jennifer said.
"as far as i know, everything is fine." Bruce said. "so we have the whole week to hang out and have fun."
"good, let the fun begin." Jennifer said. "Jennifer." Thor said. "glad to have you back with us."
"same here, handsome." Jennifer agreed. "missed you boys a lot."
Jennifer dropped her bags and came in sat on the couch.
Trish came into the house and Thor picked her up.
"nice to see you again, Patricia." Thor said. "it's nice to see you too, Thor." Trish said.
"the gang's all here." Bruce said.

Summary:
a day out on the town.

Bruce and Jennifer spent the whole car ride telling Thor and Patricia tales of their childhood.
Thor and Patricia looked at each other and smiled. "so you two have always been like this?" Trish asked.
"What does that mean?" Bruce asked. "it's just that whenever we get together like this you two turn into these completely different people." Thor explained.
"and?" Jennifer said. "we deal with you separately, majority of the time." Trish explained." we know what were getting."
Bruce turned onto Weidner road. "where is this place?" Trish asked. "the last time i was in town we drove down this road. "Jennifer said.
"well, that was some years ago." Bruce said. "yeah, that's true." Jen said.
"wait, I think that's it right there." Thor said. Bruce turned into the parking lot. "chuck's BBQ" Bruce said aloud.
"Antwon's veggie burgers are out of this world." Jennifer said. "Bruce's favorite was the 3 meat plate."
the car stopped and the quartet got out. Bruce and Jennifer run toward the entrance. "Hey, wait up!" Trish yelled out.
Thor followed behind Trish as she made a beeline for the counter. they made it to the front and that's when they saw Bruce and Jen laughing with a man.
"Thor, Trish." Jen said." this is Rashad." "where's Antwon?" Trish asked. "dad retired from cooking." Rashad said. "I took over in 2010."
"we hung out with Rashad when we were kids." Bruce said. "LaShawn, kept tabs on you." Rashad said to Jennifer.
"oh she did? "Jennifer replied. "Yeah, she says you're a hotshot lawyer out there in los Angeles. "Rashad grilled.
"I Don't know about all of that." Jennifer responded. "I wouldn't call myself a hotshot lawyer." Bruce nodded.
"my cousin does pretty well for herself." Bruce said." the whole family is proud of her."
"don't pay LaShawn no mind." Rashad said. "i know she means well." Jennifer said.
"your table is available." Rashad said pointing toward it." don't worry about it, I got y'all."
"thanks Rashad." Bruce said hugging him. " how are you doing these days?" Rashad asked returning the hug.
"these days I have a better hold on it." Bruce said. "a lot of the stuff you taught I'm still using to keep myself together."
"so,y'all usual?" Rashad asked. "Yeah, we'll have that." Jennifer said.
"the vibe in this place is nice." Thor said. "we have restaurants like this in asgard."
"you do?" Jennifer asked. "not quite like this." Bruce shot back. "But, it is similar."
a girl came out with a tray and came to the table.
"Hey Jen, Bruce." she said setting the tray down on the nearest table.
"hey Benita." they said in unison. "who are your friends? "she said.
"this is Thor odinson." Bruce said." he's, my boyfriend."
"and this is my girlfriend, patsy." Jennifer said.
"HI,NICE TO MEET YOU."they said in unison.
"here's your meals." Benita said setting each plate down. "Enjoy."
"oh, this taste really good." Trish said. "I told you, babe." Jennifer said smiling at her girlfriend.
"Bruce, I'm planning on visiting mom and dad." Jennifer said between bites.
"we wouldn't mind." Bruce said. "it's been awhile since I've seen aunt elaine and uncle morris."
"mom said she missed you and it's been so long since she's seen you." jennifer mentioned.
"it is a date then." thor agreed."i guess so." bruce said grinning at jennifer.
Chapter 8: homecoming

Bruce and Jennifer took turns driving while on their way to Jennifer's parents house.
for Bruce, this trip was soothing. he hadn't been around his aunt and uncle in years.
"we're here." Bruce said happily, the cousins got out of the car and ran up to the steps.
Thor and Trish following behind. Jennifer knocked on the door. her father answered the door.
"daddy!" Jennifer screamed. Morris found himself with an armful of his daughter. "Babygirl." he said.
"Hey Nephew." he said once Jennifer let him go. "hey uncle Morris." Bruce said.
"C'mere boy." the older man pulled Bruce into a hug. "don't just stand there, you kids come in here."
"Morris, what's all that racket?" Elaine said coming into the living room. "Momma!" Jennifer said.
"Hey Honey. "Elaine said hugging and kissing her daughter. "Is that Bruce?" Elaine said. "Come here, sweetie."
Bruce soon found himself being doted on by elaine. "How have you been, Honey?" elaine asked him.
"I've been doing much better." Bruce said honestly. "Are you still working at Berkley?" Morris asked.
"Yes, things have been especially busy these days." Bruce said." I've been working nonstop these past couple of months."
"So, You're from asgard huh?" Morris asked Thor. "Yes Sir, things are a little bit different now."
"What do you mean?" Elaine asked. "Well.my brother, Loki." Thor began." He assumed the throne after my father died."
"OH, I'm so sorry." Elaine said. "Oh don't be." Thor said. "My brother is more suited to those kinds of things."
"Bruce, have you talked with betty?" elaine asked him. "no, I haven't." Bruce said." i haven't seen or talked to her since everything happened."
"Do you miss, David?" she asked. "i didn't know him, I wish I had gotten to meet him before." Bruce said.
"so much time wasted." Morris said." all because of one man's vendetta." "what do you remember?" elaine asked.
"i remember, aunt Ceilia." Bruce said. "we didn't know where they put you." elaine said.
"that nigga never liked, David." Morris said getting angry." he took out whatever problems he had with him on our boy."
"that shit never sat right with me." Morris continued. Jennifer came and sat next to her father putting her head on his shoulder.
"i'm sorry that my being here brought up all this pain." Bruce said getting up. "Thor and i can fi-"
"you will do no such thing, young man." elaine said. "this is your home too, Bruce." Morris said.
"we promised your mother that we would take care of you." elaine said. "and that is a promise we intend to keep." Morris finished.
elaine and Morris pulled Bruce into a hug. Thor beamed while watching Bruce being doted on by his aunt and uncle.
"Bruce deserves this." Thor said to Trish. "he deserves the love of his family." "he has you as well, Thor." Trish said. "pre asgard he had us and Jen's parents."
"but he also gained a whole other family when you whisked him away to your planet." Thor smiled. "it seems that way doesn't it?" Thor asked.
"I Saw a man being a healer, helping people." Thor begin." But I also saw a man in pain, A man who needed to heal."
Thor hadn't spoken about this before, not in this manner. not like this.
"I Saw a man who needed love, who was dying without it." Thor continued. "I Was glad to be the one to put him together again."
"we needed each other." Thor admitted. "I Was just as lonely as he was." "but then we came back to earth and met the avengers, became apart of their team."
"people started to root for Bruce, something a couple of years ago he never had before." Thor said.
"Bruce still hasn't let it sink in that there are people out here who love him."
"aside from us of course." Trish added. "yes,aside from his family." Thor said.
"well children, make yourselves at home." elaine said. "we love having you here."Morris said.
elaine and Morris went upstairs. "so, what do you guys wanna do?" Jennifer asked.
"we could go in town, or we could stay here." Bruce said.
"whatever the banner-Walters clan decides is ok with us." Trish says. "i agree with patty." Thor says.
"so, were staying in town?" Bruce asks Jennifer. "were staying in town." Jennifer confirms.

Elaine and Morris get out of the car,they still can't believe what they were told.
they still can't believe that Edith is gone, but they made her a promise and that is why they are here.
elaine walks straight into ross' office. "Where is my nephew?" elaine says matter of fact.
"And you are?" Thaddeus says keeping his eyes on the documents.
"I'm elaine Walters and this is my husband, Officer Morris Walters." she said not in the least bit here for the man in front of her or his bullshit.
"I'm well aware of you and your hatred for my brother." Morris was mostly worried about his wife but was also wondering how his nephew was doing.
"Look, we just want Bruce." Morris said. "The boy has been through enough."
"The banner boy has been put into child protective services." Thaddeus said looking up at the couple.
"Well, point us in the direction of whoever works there so that we can bring Bruce home." Elaine said.
"I'm sorry." Thaddeus said. "It's out of my hands now." "You are an insufferable jackass." elaine said as she picked her purse back up.
"My wife says the same thing,Ms.Walters." Thaddeus says as he stands up. "I'll have my secretary give you the number so you can call them."

elaine and Morris got out of the car. they went to the security guard and he took them to the room.
they got to the room and were met with Jennifer. "Jen, Honey." elaine said." What are they saying?"
"There was a incident at Bruce's lab." Jennifer said. "how did you find out?" Morris asked.
"His ex tracked me down." Jennifer said. "Found out what law school I'm currently at and called me down here."
"Have you talked to him yet?" elaine asked. "No, I wanted to wait for you to get here." Jennifer said.
the doctor walks out, "He can have visitors now." the doctor said.
jen walked toward the door and turned the knob. she went in.
Bruce turned toward the door. "hello, Do I know you?" he asked. Jennifer ran and hugged her older cousin.
Bruce winced and then chuckled. "hi Bruce." Jennifer said. "my name is jennifer."
"how do we know each other?" Bruce asked. "my mother and your father are brother and sister." Jennifer said.
"Oh." Bruce said with a frown. "Yeah, I figured he'd be a sore subject for you." Jennifer said. "From what i hear he was pretty messed up."
"You mean he is fucked up." Bruce said. "what?" Jennifer said. "I woke up in the middle of the night and he was sitting right where you're currently sitting right now."
"oh my god, he was here?" Jennifer asked. "yes he was." Bruce said." and I was having reservations about believing him until you showed up."
"when we were kids before, I remember playing together and us being super close." Jennifer said. "I would like to have that again." Bruce said.
"I can give you my number, and when you get out of here let's catch up." Jennifer explained. Bruce handed Jennifer his phone and she typed her number into his contacts.
he took it back from her and called her. she held it up while it ranged. "well, I'm in your phone now." Bruce said. "i'll hold you to that, by the way."
"i'm a woman of my word." Jennifer said. "you probably don't even go out."
"i socialize sometimes." Bruce said with a pout. "well, you can come hang out with me." Jennifer said.

the quartet's night on the town went swimmingly.
Bruce still doesn't understand how they ended up in this seedy karaoke bar on the far side of town.
but all that clears away the moment he hears Thor and patty singing "livin on a prayer."
"you know Bruce, I never did get to thank you." Jennifer said. "for what?" Bruce asked. "for saving my life." Jennifer said.
"Jen-" Bruce started to say. "No, Bruce." she stopped him." I know what you're going to say."
Bruce looked remorseful. "We are not cursed." Jennifer said. "the moment you and that little boy, Brian reunited."
Bruce tried to hold back his tears. "Bruce, you are that child's hero." Jennifer said. "because of you, Sharon was able to leave that asshole."
"I'm no one's hero." Bruce said. "according to Brian you two are best friends." Jennifer said. "stop changing the subject,brucie."
"if you hadn't found me that night." Jennifer said seriously." i wouldn't be here." Bruce looked up at her.
"cousin, you saved me." Jen said. "I'm proud of being she-hulk" "that's what they call you?" Bruce said.
"you didn't ruin my life, Bruce." Jennifer said." you made it 10xs better." Bruce reached out and Jennifer took his hand.
"aunt Becca, would be so proud of you." Jennifer said. "you think so?" Bruce asked. "I know so." Jennifer responded.
"I hope she is." Bruce said." I really hope she's proud of me."
"well, patty and I are ready to go." Thor said. "Ok,then we leave." Bruce said. "Thor said he's going to make some lasagna." Trish said excitedly.
"HIS LASAGNA is ridiculous, the pan doesn't stay full." Bruce said smiling. "I'm grateful that he enjoys my cooking." Thor said.
"well, now we have to try it." Trish said mainly to Jennifer. "going to need to make a trip to the store." Thor said.
the quartet made their way into the jeep and left the bar. ready to begin their dinner.

Bruce woke up in a alley, his pants where gone, he was completely naked. he picked up a trash can lid and used it as a cover.
Bruce wasn't sure where he was. he grabbed a shirt and a pair of sweatpants off a clothesline and put them on. after awhile he learned that he was in LA.
Bruce walked the streets and happened upon a someone who was hurt. he came up closer and noticed it was a woman she had been shot.
he bent down. "miss, you have been shot." he said. he lifted her head up and when he saw her face he cried out.
It was his cousin, Jennifer. he's scared and angry, he doesn't know who did this but when he finds them the other guy won't be happy.
he scoops her up into his arms and turns back to go the other way. he remembers seeing a clinic up the way.
he carries Jennifer there. he kicks at the door. he backs up. the door swings open. a man peers out.
"what happened?" he asks. " I found her in the Alley. I don't know how long she's been there." Bruce explained trying to control himself.
"Nurse, we need a cart." the doctor said. "Gsw." the nurse brought the bed out and Bruce laid Jennifer in it.
Bruce tried to follow the doctor into the OR but he was stopped. Bruce's eyes turned green and he felt the shift.
the wait in the waiting room was torture. what had Jennifer gotten herself into? what happened?
the thought of losing her after she just came back into his life was too much for Bruce. the doctor came out. "I'm sorry mister."
"Banner, Bruce banner." Bruce said with conviction. "we tried to stop the bleeding but she doesn't have long." the doctor said.
"I'm sorry, doctor i didn't catch your name." Bruce said tears streaming down his face. "Harris, Dr. Miguel Harris." the doctor replied.
"Can I See my cousin now?" Bruce asked. "yes you can." doctor Harris said.
Bruce came into the room. and he started to laugh. "they don't know a damn thing." Bruce said. "I can't lose you, Jen."
"It was a year ago we reunited, my memories have been coming back in small doses." Bruce said taking the IV out and inserting the needle into his skin.
"your doctor was nice enough, but maybe it was my fault bringing you into this clinic instead of real hospital." Bruce started to give Jennifer his blood intravenously.
Bruce waited as he attempted to give his cousin new life. the line on the monitor started to move again. "Yes!" Bruce cried out.
Jennifer's eyes started to flutter and then she came to. "Bruce?" Jennifer said as his face started to come in focus.
"hey kiddo." Bruce said. "you gave my quite a scare." he smiled a teary eyed smile at his cousin.
"where am I?" she said. "your at a clinic." Bruce answered." I couldn't risk going to a hospital."
"what happened?" she asked. "I was hoping you could tell me." Bruce said. "I found you in a alley with a gunshot wound."
"Trask." Jennifer said rolling her eyes after it came to her. "who?" Bruce asked.
"Nicholas Trask, he's a mobster I was putting the heat on. "Jennifer revealed.
"I haven't seen you in a year." Jennifer said. "what's going on?"
"that madman, Ross is after me." Bruce exhausted." I just want to be left alone."
"How can I help you, Brucie?" Jennifer asked. "There's nothing you can do, Jen." Bruce said defeated.
"Bruce, we are family." Jennifer said." If that nigga is after you, he's after all of us."
"I have already fucked up your life." Bruce said. "what are you on about?" Jennifer asked.
"your like me now." Bruce said. "I don't know when it will happen, but you will transform."
"what are you saying,bruce?" Jennifer asked. "That doctor all but declared you dead, I couldn't let you die." Bruce said." I couldn't do that to aunt elaine and uncle Morris."
"I gave you a blood transfusion." Bruce revealed. "my gamma irritated blood now flows through your veins."
"Gamma Blood huh? "Jennifer said. "Yeah, Dad was experimenting on himself and passed it on to me." Bruce said.
"Look, all I'm hearing is that you saved my life. "Jennifer said. "As far as I'm concerned, that's all that matters Cuz."
"I don't want this for you, I don't even want it for myself." Bruce said. "one day, Bruce I hope you can learn to love yourself." Jennifer said. "That is my biggest wish for you."

while Thor was busy putting the lasagna together, the other three sat at the table reminiscing about the good ol' days.
"Do you guys remember Tara Spankenheimer?" Trish asked the hulks. "Spanky?" Bruce said.
"If I remember correctly, she hated that nickname." Trish responded. "For someone who hated it, she sure responded to it in high school." Jennifer reminded.
"What about her, Patricia?" Bruce asks. "Well, she's invited the two of you to her wedding." Trish said handing them both boxes.
"What?" the hulks said in unison. Trish handed both cousins a box and they opened them. Jennifer rummaged through hers and found a DVD.
"For Jennifer and Bruce." Jen read aloud. the foursome walked into the living room. Jennifer handed Bruce the DVD and he put it in the DVD player.
the screen went pink and California girls by katy perry starts playing. Tara pops up into the frame.
"WHAT'S UP SLUTS?" Tara screams. "I'm inviting you two sexy whores to be my bridesmaids." Bruce looked at Jennifer. "Did she just call us sluts and whores?"
"And Brucie, don't worry I'm not going to have you wearing a boring ass tux." Tara said looking into the camera. "You're not going to be looking like a basic ass bitch at my wedding."
"Me and Javi are so excited that you'll be at our nuptials." she finished." See you there, Spanky out." the tv fades to black.
"Oh god, I thought that would never end." Jennifer said sitting on the couch. "so, obviously we're not going." Bruce looked back at Jen.
"What?" she said. "Jen, we have to go." Bruce said. Thor got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen.
the front door opened, and Jen's parents came into the house.
"hi,kids."elaine said walking into the house. "How was the movie?" Bruce asked. "It ran a little too long for my liking." Morris said." But Lanie liked it enough."
elaine picked up one of the invitations off the table. "what's this?" she asked. "Tara spankenheimer invited us to her wedding." Jennifer said.
"Apparently, were to be bridesmaids." Bruce said bringing plates of food to the table. "what's for dinner?" Morris asked.
"My homemade lasagna." Thor said bringing more plates to the dining room. "that's wonderful, dear." aunt elaine said.
"Thank you." Bruce and Thor said in unison. elaine smiled at the boys. "so, is dinner ready?" Morris asked.
"Yes, Bruce my love." Thor said." please serve everyone."
Bruce kissed Thor on the lips.
Bruce started handing out plates and sent them around. the family dug in and enjoyed their meal.

Bruce and Jennifer got out of the van, and they were greeted by the other bridesmaids, "Long time no see, you two." one of the girls standing there said.
"Alana, Cookie." Jennifer said. "Jen, Bruce." cookie said. "Here ya go." Bruce and Jennifer took the tracksuits from cookie.
cookie sent Bruce to the guest bath and Jennifer to Mr. and mrs.spankenheimer's bathroom. the cousins came out and looked at one another.
"Oh my gawd,you look so fucking cute." cookie said to them. "Yeah, adorable." Jen said.
"it's a little snug." Bruce said pulling on the pants. "They were specifically made for that ass." Alana said.
"Thank you." Bruce said. "I Think." two other girls came into the hallway. "There you are." Maris said.
"Plans have been changed." Sarah explained. "what's going on?" cookie asked.
"The bride and groom don't want to wait anymore." Sarah said. "the ceremony has been moved to tonight."
"Wait, what?" cookie said. "Half of the guest aren't even here."
Sarah explained. "Tara decided to shake things up, I mean we're already out here."
"when's the ceremony?" Jennifer asked. "at 5 this evening." Maris answered.
"that's in a hour." Bruce said. "Exactly, which is why we all need to go get dressed." Maris said ushering everyone downstairs.

the car ride from the house to the church was the longest of Jennifer and Bruce's lives. but the best thing about this whole trip was that they got to spend time together.
like they used to do. the car halted to a stop in front of the church and everyone filed out of the suv.
then they went to their separate rooms in the chapel.
Jennifer came from behind the partition and started to smooth out the dress. "ooh girl, you are working that dress." cookie said.
"this isn't really my style, but anything for Tara." Jennifer said tossing her hair. the door opened and Bruce walked in wearing a lace bodysuit.
Jennifer broke out in a huge smile. "well, she wasn't lying cousin." she said. "you look anything but basic."
"So, does having thick asses run in y'all family?" cookie asked. "yes, it does." Bruce said looking back in the mirror.
"you, know cousin." Jennifer said. Orange is not your color." Bruce turned to look at Jennifer. "And what is?" he asked.
"Purple." she said instantly." And green." Jennifer smiled at Bruce. "it's actually peach." cookie said.
"it's time to go." she handed them both their bouquets. the emerald duo followed cookie out of the room.
the bridesmaids all came to the door and were met with the site of Tara in her gown. "took you guys long enough." she said.
the music started and the doors of the church opened. Bruce's heart was racing and his mind wandered to the conversation that him and Thor had shared a year ago.
the talk of marriage happened casually. if Bruce was being honest, he knew he wanted to marry Thor the moment that they had met in the amazon forest.
he came back to the present and noticed that he was already standing at pulpit with all the other bridesmaids.
"was wondering where you drifted off too." Jennifer whispered in his ear."gettin the itch to get hitched?"
"we've spoken about it on separate occasions." Bruce whispered back. "oh there saying their I dos." Jennifer whispered.
the bride and groom kissed and the Church erupted into applause. the newlyweds then made their descent back up the aisle and out the doors.
"hey Jen, Bruce." Alana said. we get in the jeep." the bridesmaids all jumped in the jeep and followed the car with the bride and groom.
Chapter 12: homecoming part 4/prelude to civil war

the reception was held at the local gymnasium in the neighborhood. and the whole place was jumpin.
Bruce was surprised to see Ricky Johnson at the party. he still looks the same way he did back then.
those feelings that Bruce felt at age 14 came flooding back. "Bruce Krenzler?" Ricky said.
"Hi Ricky." Bruce said blushing furiously. "damn baby boy, still cute as a button." the older man said.
"hey Ricky." Jennifer said. "hey sis." Ricky said. "girl you are workin that dress."
"boy stop." Jennifer said giggling." you so crazy." "So,ol'girl dragged y'all from the depths too?" Ricky asked.
"Yeah, she did." Bruce answered. "we haven't spoken to her in decades." "She act like shit ain't changed, like it hasn't been years since we last seen her ass." Jennifer agreed.
"so,whatchu been up to?" Ricky asked. "well, I'm still doing my legal thang." Jennifer said. "Bruce's still working at Berkeley college."
"what was that phrase you told talbot?" she asked him. "I'm doing science for everyone." Bruce said with pride.
soon the cousins turned cause they heard screaming. Tara threw the bouquet over her head and it went flying.
without thinking Bruce caught the bouquet. "Woah Bruce, I didn't know you could jump that high." Ricky said.
"Ricky baby, a man has to keep some secrets." Bruce said winking at him.
"congrats Bruce." Tara says into the mic. Bruce turned bright red as he listened to everyone applaud.
the rest of the night the emerald duo danced the night away with their fellow bridesmaids.
this was the most fun that Bruce has had since being back on earth, and it was a reminder that he needed to get out more.
Thor certainly wouldn't be opposed to it. this whole weekend also, put it into perspective how lucky Bruce truly is to have Thor in his life.
something that Bruce has always been aware of. once the night was over, Bruce and Jen walked out of the gym after saying goodbye to their fellow bridesmaids.
they hadn't said their farewells to the bride and groom because they left halfway through the reception. cookie lamented to both cousins how good it was to see them.
she made sure to get both numbers and told Bruce and Jen that they would be hearing from her soon.
it was at that moment that Thor and Trish pulled up in the jeep. the horn was honked .
after hugs and waves Bruce and Jennifer jumped in the jeep. and it sped off.

it was hard to believe, but the trip was over. it was time for Bruce and Thor to return to San Francisco and for the girls to return to LA.
hugs were had and tears were shed. "son, don't be a stranger." Morris said. "we are a phone call away if you need us." elaine reminded.
"I will definitely be calling you." Bruce said. Bruce kissed elaine on the cheek and picked up his suitcase walked down the steps of the porch.
threw his luggage into the trunk and jumped in the driver seat. the quartet waved at elaine and Morris one final time and then drove off.
the drive into la wasn't a long one and once Bruce parked in front of Jennifer's apartment. he realized that he wasn't going to be seeing her for awhile.
"we can still talk on the phone." Jennifer said. "I know." Bruce said." I just want this more than us being apart."
"we're going to talk on the phone nonstop." Jennifer said. "oh definitely." Bruce said. the cousins hugged and then Jen got out of the car.
Jennifer and Patricia waved as Bruce and Thor drove off. when they finally got home, the couple unlocked the door and walked in dropping the luggage at the door.
Bruce locked the door and followed Thor to the couch where they collapsed onto it. neither man stayed awake long.
neither of them noticed that their phones where lighting up. both missed calls. one from bucky and the other from rhodey.

Bruce opened his eyes and looked at the sleeping god who laid beside him. Bruce smiled, he was truly blessed.
he sat up on the couch and got up walking into the kitchen. "he's always making breakfast for us,it's my turn to spoil him." Bruce said to himself.
Bruce got to work, he started frying the bacon and sausage first, then made some french toast.
Thor was awoken by the smell of the food. "Bruce, that smells heavenly." Thor said coming over to the stove and kissing Bruce on the cheek.
"you can grab the plates and bring them into the dining room." Bruce said. Thor did as he was told.
once Thor sat the plates onto the table he picked up Bruce's phone. he seen that bucky had been calling since before they had dropped off the girls.
Thor pressed on Bucky's name and he appeared on the screen. "where have you guys been?" bucky asked." We have been trying to get ahold of you."
"we just got in last night from visiting Bruce's aunt and uncle." Thor said. "you guys need to come to new York, asap." bucky said."a lot has happened since we last were together."
"why?" Bruce asked. "it's important." bucky said." i got to go." bucky hung up the phone. there was a knock at the door. Bruce went to answer it.
"Jen, Trish." Thor said as they came into the kitchen. "good to see you again." "what's up?" Bruce asked.
"just checkin up on you." Jennifer said. "you know what today is?" "what?" Bruce asked looking at his cousin.
"today's the anniversary of your accident." Jennifer said. "oh, wow." Bruce said." you know it's funny I haven't thought about that in years."
"we saw the footage of the night you first hulked out." Trish said. "Oh, really?" Bruce asked.
"yeah cuz,that was crazy." Jennifer said." you really don't remember any of it?"
Bruce shook his head. "I barely remember the conversation we had days after." Jennifer nodded back." I haven't forgotten."
"is that bad or good?" Bruce asks. "It's good." Jennifer said." so,what's going on?"
"Apparently, we have to go to new York." Bruce said. "the big apple?" Jennifer asked. "the one and only." Bruce said.
"well,let's hit the road." Jennifer said. the quartet got in the jeep and made their way to a private airsite.
"this doesn't look like the airport." Trish said as her and Thor got out of the jeep.
"that's a stark plane." Jennifer said. the door opened and happy stepped out. "the boss wanted me to come get you." he said.
Bruce and Jennifer looked at each other and then walked onto the plane. "stark sure is rolling out the red carpet."
the quartet get on the plane and off it goes. Bruce and Jennifer spend the plane ride talking.
"I heard from uncle Mikey." Jennifer begin. "Oh." Bruce said." he never felt ill towards you,bruce." Jennifer revealed.
"he understood that uncle David's decisions where his and his alone." she continued." he NEVER held you accountable for your father's actions."
"what's going on?" Bruce asks. "family reunion." Jennifer answered. "Of course, your her only son."
"I Have to stand in for my mother." Bruce said." Which of course, I'd do without question."
"We're here." happy said coming into passenger area. the quartet stepped out of the plane.
they got into the car and rode into the city. they got out and walked into avengers tower. going up the elevator.

the quartet walk into the room where bucky and rhodey greet them once their in.
"Hey Bruce, Thor." rhodey said. "it's good to see you guys." Bruce looked past rhodey and bucky and seen tony talking to a man.
Bruce felt a sense a dread. everyone take your seats. Bruce and Thor sat at the table while Jen and patsy stood behind them.
the guys sat there as the man talked and showed clips of the avengers' past battles. something felt off and Bruce still couldn't pick up what was happening.
but Jennifer was rubbing his shoulders and Thor was constantly whispering to Bruce that it would be ok. the man turned toward them and that's when it clicked.
Bruce stood up and walked over to him. "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?" He screamed. tony looked from ross and towards Bruce.
"THIS MAN?!" Bruce said looking around the room. "HE HAS CAUSED ME UNTOLD AND NUMEROUS AMOUNTS OF STRESS AND TRAUMA!"
"Bruce." Thor said grabbing Bruce. "Banner." ross started. "NO,FUCK YOU." Bruce said. "MY FATHER WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS ACTIONS."
the room stood silent. "YOU MOTHERFUCKERS WANT TO FOLLOW HIM?" Bruce said. "HE'S RESPONISBLE FOR KEEPING THIS TEAM IN CHECK?"
"Bruce,come on." tony said. "We have to listen-" Bruce shook his head. "I don't have to do a damn thing, except get the fuck out of here."
Jennifer and pasty walked up to Bruce and squeezed his arm. Bruce turned and looked at his family.
Jennifer, Thor and patsy. "bruce,it's time to go." Thor said. "Thor, maybe you could talk to him." tony said.
"I don't think so,tony."Thor said. the quartet walked out and got back in the car and were on their way to the airport.
Bruce sat there and just held Thor's hand. he didn't mind being avenger, but if he was being honest he didn't really care about them.
"are you ok?" Thor asked. "yes,i am." Bruce said. "I'm just glad to be away from there."
"I want to thank you all." Bruce said thanking the three of them. "I love you guys more then you could possibly know."
"bruce,we love you too." Jennifer said." please remember that."
