Chapter Text
“I started to become greedy
I wanted to live with you, grow old with you
Hold your wrinkled hands
And say how warm my life was”
- |Ailee, I Will Go To You Like The First Snow|
Prologue
"NO, she...she has to wake up! Find whatever you can do to heal her, and right now!" A rough yet heartbroken voice angrily shouted at someone.
Huh? Where am I? Who is the one shouting so loudly?
"My lord, she has expired.. The goddess Guizhong has passed. Please do not expect her to wake up-" A low gruff voice whispered calmly, although they sounded quite unhappy as well. He was interrupted.
Guizhong? That name sounds familiar...where have I heard it before?
"I-I refuse to accept this! If she were really dead, her body should have decimated into dust! She can still be saved! I order you to find someone who can fix her-"
My eyes abruptly opened as I stared at who was shouting. Mostly because I wanted to see who they were agonizing so much over. I couldn't move my body, and I felt like there was a huge burden on my body...I gave up on that thought and looked at my surroundings.
I was in a tent of some kind, with the flaps of the openings fluttering in a slow breeze. It appeared to be night, and a lone lantern hung in the middle of the tent with a golden shield type covering the light source. Pretty ...
I was greeted by the sight of a man whose back turned to me. He was wearing a sleeveless white robe, his built arms glowing a beautiful brown and gold. He had a hood pulled over his head but I could vaguely make out his long brown hair with gold tips at the end. I saw his hands, they were holding a bell of some sorts, and he was gripping it like it was the most precious thing in the world for him. My eyes wavered to the side where a buff man was standing with his head down, horns protruding from his head as he sighed deeply. His reddish brown hair which was to his mid-neck swayed with the breeze blowing through the tent.
"My lord, Morax, I shall seek someone out, but it's best if we don't have too much hope-" The second guy started talking to the other one, his lord, but then he opened his eyes. They were a rich grey colour. His eyes flitted over to where I was lying down and his jaw dropped, "M-My lady!"
'Morax' flinched, turning to look behind him due to the second man's reaction. I finally looked at the man's face.
It was a really beautiful face, his eyes were a beautiful amber, and the sides of his eyes were red. He looked haggard, but yet his brown hair framed his face perfectly. He looked like one of those models I saw on TV..
"Guizhong!" His voice was tender as he dropped the bell to the floor and ran towards me, kneeling down and carressing my face with a surprisingly gentle touch, "You are awake! I knew you would not pass away because of that ritual...I always believed you could do it!" His eyes slightly teared up and I had this uncontrollable urge to wipe the tear away, which I did. That was not my body controlling myself- it was someone else!
Please comfort Morax.
I heard a gentle voice in my head. They sounded sad, almost melancholic as they requested this of me.
Huh? What was that voice?!
All will be clear in a while. Please do as I say, (Y/N) (L/N).
This person knew my real name! I remember myself now!
Who are you?! What is happening? Why am I in someone else's body, who are all these people? How do you know who I am?
My name is Guizhong. Your soul is now in my body. I shall be back to explain everything, please...comfort Morax in my stead. I will talk to you soon...
"Morax..." I whispered, having heard his name before. The person sounded desperate, for now let's just do what they are saying..this was so suspicious.
"I'm back now, aren't I?" I cracked a small smile and Morax smiled, chuckling as he did so, "I never lost faith, I knew you could. You are stronger than anyone else I know...perhaps even more so than myself." He leaned forward and placed a small kiss on my forehead. I couldn't help but blush...
How can someone be so hot yet so gentle at the same time?!
I glanced at the man standing behind Morax, who's hair was covering his eyes. He seemed depressed...
"My..My lady!" The buff man walked over to my other side quickly with large steps, and collapsed onto his knees as he grabbed lock of my hair. I now noticed it, it was a beautiful platinum blonde. "Please forgive me! I lost faith in your strength, I assumed that you passed away-" Morax coughed and then the guy coughed as well, flustered, "I meant-"
What the heck is this guy's name? He's kinda cute-
Azhdaha.
"Azhdaha, it is alright. I do not mind it." His eyes brightened as I said so and he played with the lock of my hair before placing a light kiss on it, "I shall never leave your side, my lady." His gray eyes stared piercingly at me and I smiled at him, my heart hammering because I was surrounded by two hot men!
I could feel myself grow red and turned away, unfortunately staring right into Morax's beautiful amber eyes. What should I do now?!
"Ah, so you're awake?" A new voice appeared in the tent, his voice sneering as he stared right at me. It was a man with elegantly long cerulean hair and twinkling green eyes. He had a snake-like? Fox-like appearance. His face was so pretty that I couldn't stop staring at him, and he smirked slyly when his eyes met mine.
The three of them were dressed in similar attire, but Morax and the new man were wearing fancier clothes compared to Azhdaha.
"Where were you, Osial?" Morax asked, his eyes growing darker as he stood up slowly. The new man 'Osial' just shrugged, "I was sorting out issues in my region. Is something the matter?"
Morax let go of my hand and grabbed Osial's collar with one hand, "Why didn't you rush over immediately when you heard the news of Guizhong's coma?"
Osial just looked over at me who was still lying down and sighed, "Morax, not everyone of us in love with Guizhong."
In love with?! MORAX IS IN LOVE WITH GUIZHONG?!
"Lord Osial, please refrain from making unnecessary comments." Azhdaha spoke from my right, his eyes glaring at Osial.
It seemed like this Osial guy is not liked by anyone...
I like him.
Seriously?
He is just pretending to be rude, (Y/N). You will know soon enough. He is a very gentle individual...
Osial smirked, "I did not say anything other than the truth."
Morax started getting riled up, his fist clenching, his golden marks glowing. I saw his hood fall down and horns started protruding from his head. WHAT ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE?
Gentle? Him?!
"Please stop fighting..." I whispered weakly and Morax stopped, his eyes turning over to look at me. Osial also glanced at me, crossing his arms. Azhdaha never left my side. He almost seemed like a loyal golden retriever. He reminded me of a golden retriever...
"You heard the goddess, Morax." Osial shrugged, quite happily as Morax spoke to him, without removing his eyes off of me, "This is not over, Osial. We shall duel soon."
"Thank you all." I murmured in Guizhong's soft voice and they all quietened down. Just then, I felt this uncontrollable itch in my throat and I coughed, my hand covering my mouth.
Morax rushed back to my side, as I revealed my palm to my own eyes.
Scarlet red blood greeted me.
"Huh...?"
Morax and Azhdaha's eyes widened in shock as Osial's eyes hardened. They were concerned.
"Blood..." Morax whispered as he grabbed my wrist with the blood filled palm. Some of the blood dropped onto my clothes and the blanket.
I could feel myself lose my consciousness, and before I did so, I saw a bar floating in the corner of my eye, like a game.
HP: 20/2500. WILL BE LOSING CONSCIOUSNESS. RECOVERY TIME: 23h 59min 40s.
The last thing I heard before blacking out was, "Guizhong!" from three different voices.
Your task...is to fulfil my dying wish.
|Save everyone from their miserable fates.|
You...have the power to do so. I’m sure of it.
