Notes:

splitted on her way to make fun of me speedrun

Work Text:

Piper was a bit worried. She watches her lover from across the dining table, watching her shuffle her cards. She only tended to do that when nervous, or anxious, or if she was hiding something. Piper decides to pretend not to notice.

“So how was your day, dear?”

No response. That was unusual. Was she mad at her? Piper runs a list of possible wrongdoings she may have committed through her head. Nothing she could remember.

 “I’m going to bed.”

Tara abruptly excuses herself from the table, leaving Piper to ponder what she could’ve done.

Piper spends the night alone. Tara had chosen to sleep on the couch for some reason, and she decided to give her space. It didn’t seem like she was any less distant in the morning either. In fact, Tara seemed to be purposefully avoiding her, leaving the house before Piper could even get two words in. Sandy pat her arm comfortingly.

“Don’t worry about it.”

Piper tries not to worry. But the possibility that she may have done something irredeemable pokes at her mind for the rest of the day.

“Good evening dear!”

Arms wrap around her waist and Tara glances down at her girlfriend, tilting her head in response. Piper hops up to press a kiss to Tara’s face, only to be pushed away. That’s it.

“If you’re mad at me, pouting like this isn’t going to solve anything.”

Tara holds her stare as Piper fights to hold back tears.

“..what?”

Piper laughs dryly.

“Don’t “what” me! You’ve been avoiding me! Just tell me what I did! Don’t avoid me like this! Please.”

Piper breaks down into tears, sinking onto the floor. Tara squats next to her.

“I’m not mad at you.”

“Then why are you avoiding me?”

“I don’t want you to get sick. I thought it was obvious."

What. Piper laughs at the absurdity of the situation.

“How would I have known??! I don’t know things unless you tell me about them!”

“Told Sandy to tell you. Guess he forgot.”

Oh. Piper feels a bit silly for overreacting so much.

“So you still love me?”

“I’ll always love you.”

Tara yelps in surprise as Piper tackles her to the ground, peppering her face with kisses.

Tara sat at the edge of the bed watching Piper with amusement. Piper sneezes, turning over in the bed. Tara hums in an “I told you so” manner.

“Oh, shut up.”
