Chapter Text
How they decided to carry out the tests was to do them in pauses between her pacing around. Charlotte let the girl wander as much as she wanted, of course there were some tests where she'd need to be still but only really one or two where she needed to be lying down so they had plenty of time to plan and prepare for that whilst Charlotte followed her pacing.
At the right moment, Charlotte held out the tongue presser and smiled at her.
"Okay sweetheart, can you say ahhhh?"
It took a few tries but Katy opened her mouth to which Charlotte slid in the tool and checked her mouth. She could see the girls hands flapping by her sides and knew Lolly was keeping an eye in case it turned into anxious stimming but for now the girl seemed fairly unbothered by holding her mouth open. Once she was done, Charlotte let the girl start pacing again whilst she registered the results and then got the next test set up.
Katy was at least actually pretty good with needles and injections, they didn't seem to phase her too badly. She came over to sit on Martha's lap when asked and she let Charlotte roll up her sleeve, only wincing a tiny bit at the coolness of the antiseptic wipe on her arm but she stayed still whilst the woman prepped the syringe and then injected it into her arm, holding for a few seconds before releasing it and disposing of the used needle.

Katy was just stood still, doing some vocal stimming and repeating echolalias under her breath. Charlotte needed to try and use the stethoscope next to hear her heart.
"Hi honey. Do you think I can listen to your heart now?" She asked and waited for Katy to think on it. The girl just wandered off and she was about to consider a new way when she realised that Katy had just gone to get a chew toy from Martha. She walked back to Charlotte and pointed to the stethoscope, chewing on her favourite bracelet as she flapped her hands.
"Ready now?" Charlotte asked and the girl nodded, starting gentle hums again as she stood still for the nurse who lifted her shirt and slipped the stethoscope under it to reach her chest, taking a reading of her heart. She wandered for longer, then Martha gently called her over and sat the girl on her lap. She held her close and kissed her cheek, smiling when the girl giggled happily and reached up to kiss her back as well. Katy leant over to grab Lolly's hand and hum at her which was their equivalent of showing love.
