Chapter 1: Begginnings

Chapter Text

Tommy was a star child, a baby born from the same dust that created the universe, and a godling who ascended only days after his creation. A baby whose smile was brighter than any supernova, giggling as he reached to grab his mothers hair. Each laugh brings another year of prosperity to the mortals across the realms.

Clara was a goddess of the night sky, every star, every planet, every last bit of inky black void around them was her domain, and yet she laughed as Tommy messed with the galaxies around them, holding her baby boy close as she lured him to sleep with a lullaby. Promising he would be with her forever.

Tommy was her little star child, the baby god of natural disasters and prosperous years. Often taking the form of a little raccoon, his mother mimicked her son.

They were so happy

It's too bad Tommys path to greatness was covered with black

Clara and Tommy originally went down to a peaceful realm so that Tommy would know his domain, Clara and Tommy played in the fields, the baby chasing the little bunnies around, and picking flowers for his mother. That's when Tommys obsession with the world started, he loved going to them. And Clara eventually had her sister take care of him down there, so he could spend as much time in the grass as possible.

Neither goddess ever expected Phil to take the boy and tell him he was his father, neither goddess expected for him to relocate the family, and claim her son as a prince.

Clara tried to get him back. She spent days desperately trying to reach her son, her little star boy, but it was useless, there was a barrier keeping her from entering the kingdom, keeping her locked out. It broke Clara's heart to watch Tommy scream and cry that he wanted his mother, watching him reach to the sky screaming 'Mama!' At the top of his lungs.

That year, the empire was struck with a famine that left millions dead. A tornado struck one of the closest mining towns, cutting off their supplies. 2 tsunamis left homes destroyed in the lower half of the empire, and raiders killed 4 out of 6 of the native villages the empire had ties with.

The winged king never learned the nature of the child he had taken, Kristen kept it a closely guarded secret. Even as the child grew, he was always hostile towards the man who claimed he was his father. Making sure he never had access to his tower, the highest point in the kingdom. The king never knew about his wings, or how the boy would fly high enough for himself to get light headed, desperate to return to his mother.

The king never questioned when the boy would refuse to sleep in his room, instead sleeping on the roof, underneath the watchful eyes of Clara, and the blanket of stars that kept him effortlessly warm.

Tommy never gave up these habits, he loved the night sky, learned everything he could. His brothers shared no affinity to the stars as he did, rolling their eyes when he talked about his mother, telling him that they all had the same mom. Tommy tried, trying to tell them about the galaxys, the planets, and how his mother would let him paint the void with star dust. Techno knocked over his books, Wilbur laughed at his mothers name, and Tommy slowly stopped. Even the servants would roll their eyes when he talked.

Tommy slowly shut himself in, spending all his time in his tower, or curled up under a desk in one of the deeper corners of the library, where he wouldn't be seen. Tommy used his wings as a blanket, keeping himself warm and comfortable as he read and wrote. There was always something new in the library for him, and the boy didn't put it past it being the divine intervention of his mother. Thanking her when he saw a new book

Tommy was still a wild card, when he came out from the dusty corners of the library, patting his cheeks to rid himself of the glow of his freckles, he would cause a scene at dinner, sitting away from his family, eating like a slob, and smirking at Phils face. Phil could never do anything to the boy, no punishment lasted, nothing happened to keep the boy calm and collected. Tommy ripped the fancy shirts and the poofy pants given to him. He dirtied the capes he was forced to wear, and left his boots in the slush mixture of rain and snow when he could, ruining everything.

Tommy was never allowed to go to Balls or parties, the one time he was he spiked the punch, ate all the cheese crackers, and messed with the musicians until they played less formal music. It was a welcome home party for the queen. He hid in the cracks in the walls with his raccoon form for weeks after that. Cackling to himself at the fools He made of his 'father' and 'brothers'. Mumza visited him the night of the ball, telling him he did a good job, and making fun of the nobles with him.

Kristen was his only friend in the castle, but she was only there 2 out of the 12 months. Tommy kept all the clothes she gave him in pristine condition, sat with her at the dining table, being a little gentleman. Even his fur was brushed to perfection, and he never missed the glare he got from Phil. He always scampered off before Phil could catch him, going to his corners. Kristen only came around when the moon was at its peak, when it was the brightest in the sky, on Tommys birthday. They would celebrate in his tower, lighting a candle on a cupcake and singing happy birthday as the moonlight flowed through the window.

Tommy was truly happy when he had Kristen, but one day, she never arrived, Tommy knew when she came home, and waited at the window to see her, she never showed. He went down to dinner that night, hoping to see her, and he flinched from Phils smirk when he saw she wasn't there either. Unbeknownst to the little boy, only 8, Phil had locked her out of her own kingdom, with the same barrier that kept Clara out. Tommy cried when he wasn't able to spend his birthday with his Mum, sobbing into the pillow from his roof bed, as Clara let the brightest stars shine to try to comfort him.

A fire had gone through the empire that year, burning half the buildings in the kingdom, and almost reaching the castle itself. Tommy watched it happen, waving his hands and watching as the fire obayed. Tommy knew about his godhood now, Tommy put the pieces together. Tommy smirked as he watched an ember fall into the gardens, focusing his attention to his and making it grow into a flame.

Tommy flew a pack of necessities slung over his shoulder, a sword, some food, and a simple sleeping cot and blanket. On his hips, held by a belt there was a pan he stole from the kitchens, a lighter and a multi-tool. He was hidden with an outfit of all black, armour beneath the layers of clothing he was wearing, and a cloak that grew with him firmly clasped around his shoulders. He flew for hours, wings never getting tired, the 8 year old already had an impressive wingspan of 9 feet, and the stars, the plants, the sea itself only told him they would grow with him.

The empire was hours behind him, it would take them a bit to notice he was gone anyways, and Tommy was hoping for that, laughing as he started to see where the snow covered ground turned to grass, and he landed. Opening the map he held tightly clasped in his hands, he mapped out where he was. Looking around for the landmarks, which he found. Tommy hid his wings, and covered his hair, walking into the village on his map. He had a few things to buy

Tommy smiled, walking out of the last store on his list, clutching Black and purple dyes in his hand, glaring at everyone who tried to get near him. No one trusted the 8 year old raccoon boy, Tommy prefered it that way as he left the village and to a nearby stream. Once there he used the dye to hide his blond hair, dying it similar to what his mom had, feeling the guidance of the other gods around him, all equally angry at Phil for taking him. When he was done, he used a towel he had bought from the village to pat down and dry his hair. He also put in the red contacts he bought, discarding the map that got him out of the empire. He began to walk towards the setting sun, getting as far away from the empire as possible.

In the empire, the voices that plagued an older brother started to grow in volume, the god incharge of them taking revenge on Phil for hurting its sister.

"And eye for an eye you immortal fuck"
