Notes:

Hiiii, I’m here again with a new piece for our broten week. I was inspired by a Dream of Jeannie episode and I hope you like.
💯 unbeta, sorry for any mistake.

Work Text:

She loved waking up in her husband's arms every morning. One year on, and life couldn't be any better for Bulla, she married the love of her life, Goten. After all the mess caused by their relationship, she could say they were extremely happy.

The princess completely loved him, no matter what anyone said. Their wedding had been beautiful, and everything had gone as planned.

Now her newlywed life started to settle down, the heiress decided to take time for herself. She couldn’t wait to meet her friends for her first girls' night in a year.

As he lay next to her continuing to sleep, Bulla slipped out of bed and started to get ready for the day. The princess wanted to make her husband breakfast before she had to leave for work and he had to go to his dojo.

Time passed quickly, when she looked up the clock that evening it was time to go. Bulla wrapped her things and left her office in a hurry. She was so distracted, she almost bumped into her brother.

“Thanks, Kami, I got you before you left! I need the prototype file about CC-23R.”

“Trunks, I'm super late! I’m meeting the girls in the next 10 minutes!” She looked at her watch again, a little distressed. “The file is in the first drawer on my desk. Help yourself and close the door when you leave. Bye, bye!” the heiress left before he could say anything.

Trunks shrugged but he wandered to his sister's desk without so much thought. He opened the drawer and found what he was looking for but something got his attention … Vitamins? He wondered if his sister was sick, and worried the halfling decided to inspect the bottle. Then his brain stuttered for a moment as his eyes took in… It was not any vitamins, as he could read “for pregnancy”.

“Am I going to be an uncle?” He almost choked on his breath. “Shit! I'm gonna be an uncle!” He needed to talk with Goten.

On the following day, Goten felt the familiar ki when he heard as the door of the dojo open and close.

“Trunks? What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you-” before he could finish, as his friends hugged him too tight and started a mix of praises and curses.

“Goten, how could you?" His best friend called him out, indignantly. “I can’t believe you didn’t tell me, dude. I should be the first to know, but I’m so happy for you guys!” Trunks hugged Goten again. The dark-hair halfling wondered why his best friend was acting like a lunatic.

“Thanks-I guess? He frowned, clueless.

“That 's okay, ‘Dad’."

“Huh? What the hell? Are you high or something, man?” The dark hair halfling was appalled.

“Don’t play dumb with me Goten. The cat is out of the bag or better the baby? You guys didn’t waste time right?”

“A baby?” Goten asked, now he was deeply confused. “What are you even talking about?” He asked, opening his bottle of water to drink.

“Oh Goten, I found out about Bulla things. I know she’s pregnant! ”

“WHAT?” Goten spilled all over, the water that was in his mouth.

“Oh shit! You didn’t know!” It was then that it hit Trunks.

“Am I going to be a father?” Goten gave him a stocked look with his huge eyes, then he fainted.

“Great! Bulla is going to kill me!”

Goten canceled all the classes he had for the day and hurried home in hopes he could get there before his wife. He wanted to make her favorite dishes for dinner, and pamper her for the night. Yet, to his surprise, she was already home.

“Bulla? Babe?” His voice echoes through their house.

“Up here” she responded in a muffled tone. The quivering in her voice got the halfling eagerly to their bedroom. She was under their sheets.

“Princess, are you all right? Why are you home so early?” She uncovered her head as he rushed to her side.

“No, I’m feeling sick.” The heiress pouted.

“Do you want me to get you something?”

“No, it’s okay! It’s probably that stupid sushi I ate yesterday with the girls. It must have upset my stomach” she yawned.

“Are you still tired?” He lay next to her

“A little, but why are you home early? I thought you had classes until the night.”

“Well, I had but I decided to ditch everything because I wanted to surprise my wife with her favorite dinner. And a good bath,” he smirked and came closer to her.

“And what is the special occasion?”

“On this special occasion, I have the most beautiful and amazing wife in all universes.” Goten wrapped his arms around her.

“Hmm, Mr. Son, sadly your amazing wife is too sick to eat right now but a bath together sounds nice.” Bulla leaned in to kiss him.

An hour and a half later, Bulla was on the couch reading some work files to pass time while Goten made them dinner. After her stomach ache passed, she felt like starving and urged for some good food.

However, the heiress thought her husband was acting really weird today. He was too attentive with her tonight. He’s always sweet but he was acting as she would break at any moment and that was never his style.

“Bee, where are the pickles?”

“I ate them”

“But the whole jar?”

“Well yeah?” He was astonished, and she felt like an alien. Technically, half of her was, but he was too. “Don’t judge me! I was craving to eat something the other day and I wasn’t feeling like cooking.” He kept staring at her.

“Bulla, isn’t there anything else you want to tell me?”

“Uh, No? Hm…Perhaps I was the one who ate all the ice cream too?”

“Not that.” He shook his head.

“Then I don't know what you are talking about Goten.”

“Babe, I know we wanted to wait and all. But you don’t need to be afraid of telling me you’re pregnant,” he said, and Bulla sat up in a fast motion.

“I-I am WHAT? Where did that idea come from?”

“Well, Trunks…” He started to explain but he was cut off by the princess.

“What stupidity my idiot brother told you this time?” She said, now utterly pissed.

“He's not an idiot. He saw the vitamins for pregnant women in your things at the office and he thought we were expecting a baby…”

“And of course instead of asking me the first thing he did was to tell you, right? He couldn't have taken one day off from being mouthy now, could he? That nosy bastard!"

”Then who was it?” Goten joined her on the couch.

“The vitamins? Marron..." She said with pursed lips.

“WHAT?” Goten froze, shocked by the reveal.

“Yeah…And Marron knows how Trunks is and she wanted time so she could prepare herself to tell him. She asked me to hide her medicines and keep it a secret.” Bulla explained to him.

“But… but... what about the sickness and all the food, and the ice cream?” He seemed to be in a mix of concern and sadness.

“Oh? I’m so sorry. I was stressed out with the new prototype and It was just the sushi that didn’t settle well yesterday.” Goten joined Bulla on the couch.

“It’s okay, we agreed, no kids for now.” He said as he embraced her, finally resigned that his wife wasn’t pregnant.

“We did agree on that” she nodded, “hold on a little and we can have all the kids you want?” Bulla gave him a reassuring smile.

“Are you sure about that? Because I would want a football team of mini Saiyans.” Goten smirked, teasingly.

“A football team?” Bulla repeated, astonished. “Are you insane? Anyway, I’d think this carefully because you will be the only one changing diapers.” She said playfully, reaching up to mess with his hair.

“Okayyy, maybe not a football team,” he suddenly got serious and asked quietly. “Promise you would tell me?”

“Of course I would! You would be the first!” The heiress nodded, as they embraced each other on the couch. “Can you imagine Trunks as a dad?” Suddenly, she asked with a laugh, as her husband shook his head.

“No, but I don’t think anyone imagined Vegeta being a daddy and he turned out to be a great one for all of us, right?” She felt her heartache for her husband. She knew how much Goten missed Goku and how her own father was there for him when he needed it.

“Right” she hugged him tightly.
