Author's note: I am here with my second Sofia the First fanfic - I hope you guys like it.
“Sofia dear?” Miranda looked around the shop, smiling as she saw her daughter packing some slippers. “Are those the slippers for the King?” Sofia looked up at her and nodded, Miranda kissed her forehead. “Thank you, sweetie, I was wondering where I put them. I would be so lost without your help.” Sofia blushed happily. The family of two locked up shop, and holding hands they began the long trip up to the castle.
It had been just Sofia and her mother for 3 years, after the unfortunate and unexpected death of Sofia’s father. Sofia had been there that day, having a day out with her father when a freak storm hit. They weren’t fast enough to get to a shelter or home nearby, but they found a small place by the rocks. But it wasn’t large enough for him alone, so her father made the choice to hide his daughter there and cover the place with his body, to protect Sofia from further harm – but at the expense of his life. No one had expected them to live – but they were surprised to see Sofia crying her heart out. Miranda was only too happy to have her daughter back, as their hearts broke over the death of their loved one. Sofia was left with many wounds, some intangible to conventional medicines - scars of the mind. Aside from small things that would set her off, like wearing any colour other than purple, she would sometimes just fall silent. She was silent more than ever since the incident, but everyone saw the kind and true heart she still had.
Sofia stayed by her mother's side whilst they were in the castle, but she was easily distracted by all the decorations around the castle. Miranda had to take hold of her hand again when it was time to leave.
“You ready to go home Sofia?” Miranda asked, Sofia nodded, and the duo left the castle with the King smiling softly after them.
~*~*~*~
A month later, Miranda and King Roland met many more times, they were quickly falling in love. It was in one of those meetings in which Miranda told him about her late husband – and everything Sofia went through. She never expected the King to weep for her late husband or her daughter, but he did. Talks of potentially marrying came up a lot, but Miranda made sure that Roland had to make sure his children were aware of Sofia’s conditions first. And he did, one night he sat his children down, and explained everything to them.
Amber covered her mouth as her father finished the story, James just looked devastated. Roland looked between his children as they had time to consider his words. Amber stood first and began to pace.
“Right so I am going to need a list of everything she loves, I will be in charge of her wardrobe and room, make sure everything is perfect for her. And, Father, can I have access to the royal treasury? I want to get our new dear sister a gift for when she joins us in the castle. Something her favourite colour! Oh, I have so much to do and plan!” Amber huffed. Roland chuckled and nodded.
“I will have Miranda come and speak to you; we have agreed that we need Sofia to spend some alone time with me to see if it will work.” Roland nodded.
“You really like her, huh dad?” James asked, Roland, nodded.
“I do, I want us all to work as a family.” He agreed.
“Great, I would love a sister! This is going to be amazing!” Amber beamed. “Keep us updated as it goes daddy!”
“I will.” Roland chuckled.
~*~*~*~
“You sure want to do this sweetie? Remember this is all your choice,” Miranda said, Amber and James were peeking around the wall to see Sofia for the first time, Roland caught them but didn’t react. Sofia nodded and took Roland’s hand with a smile. “You did want to see the garden, didn’t you?” Sofia nodded again.
“Then to the gardens we go.” Roland declared happily; Sofia beamed as they both walked off.
“Oh, my goodness! Our little sister is just the cutest!” Amber gushed as she rushed out once they were out of sight, surprising Miranda!
“Oh, Princess Amber, Prince James.” Miranda smiled.
“Please, just Amber and James is fine, if all goes well we will be a family. And I need to know everything Sofia likes for her room – I’m in charge of the decoration!” Amber said proudly.
“Then, how about we go and have some tea?” Miranda suggested.
“We’d love that.” James nodded.
Sofia gasped happily as the King led her through the gardens, she loved all the flowers they had. And the Butterflies, Sofia loved the place already.
“Sofia, how about we rest over there with some tea?” Roland suggested, pointing to a small tea table, Sofia nodded happily.
Sofia hummed happily as she drank the tea and watched the gardens.
“So, what do you feel, if I married your mother?” Roland asked, Sofia glanced at him curiously. Watching him with a small hint of worry, she then turned away and looked out to the garden again.
“Mom’s happy.” Her voice surprised him, she smiled softly. “You make her very happy. She acts happy all the time, but I know she is hurting from Daddy’s incident.”
“I know, it still must be so hard for both of you,” Roland said sadly, remembering the pain he felt when he lost Amber and James’ mother.
“What will happen to me?” Sofia asked, Roland, looked at her surprised. She was looking at him in concern.
“My dear, you’ll be part of the family too, you’ll move into the castle, Amber is already decorating your room with your favourite things, James, well – he wants to make sure you are comfortable. Reminds me, he wants to know what your favourite sport is?” Sofia smiled.
“I love Derby Races.” She replied. “So, Mom and I will still be together?”
“Of course, we are excited to have both you and your mother joining our family,” Roland replied.
“Then, I’d like to be part of the family too.” Sofia smiled; Roland smiled back.
“Then, we should have more tea parties like this in the future.” He said, Sofia nodded excitedly, that sounded like a great idea. She was excited about her new family.

Chapter Text
Author's note: Hi, I'm in a pretty great mood so here are a few chapters for you all! I hope you enjoy!
“Daddy! I have Sofia’s gift wrapped!” Amber ran over to her father the day of the wedding, “I plan to give it to her right after the whole kissing the bride part if that is okay?”
“I think that’s a lovely idea, Amber.” Roland smiled.
“I can’t show her Minimus yet, but if she wants, I want to dance with her first,” James said.
“Deal, oh this is so exciting!” Amber beamed happily “I can’t wait for the family to grow.”
“Me neither.” Roland agreed.
~*~*~*~
The wedding was beautiful, Amber and James gave Sofia warm smiles when she and her mother joined their father at the top, and she had to sit next to them. Amber anxiously for it to end, the box felt so heavy. The exchange of rings happened, and the King kissed his new Queen and everyone cheered. Roland beckoned his kids up as Miranda held her hand out to Sofia. The kids rushed forward smiling. Amber took and deep breath and stepped towards Sofia. The younger girl suddenly had a look of concern, but Amber smiled lightly.
“Sofia- we are happy to have you and – and Mom, join the family.” Amber stepped forward, all the guests watched silently, Sofia looked at Amber curiously. Amber smiled. “I am looking forward to having you as a sister, really excited. So, I picked out a gift, just for you, as a welcome.” Amber helped out the small, light purple box. Sofia smiled happily holding the box to her chest in thanks, before she removed the ribbon, gasping as the Amulet inside.
“Would you like a hand putting it on?” James offered, Sofia nodded, and he helped her put on the Amulet, Sofia cupped the teardrop-shaped purple jewel in her hands and smiled at the twins with teary eyes, before quickly embracing them. Miranda teared up lightly at the scene.
~*~*~*~
The party got underway, James asked Sofia to her first dance, she giggled and accepted. It mainly turned into a dancing lesson as James walked her through the steps.
“You’ve got the hang of it!” James beamed, Sofia giggled.
“Thank you for teaching me.” She smiled.
“Anytime! As Amber said, I’m also excited about having you as a sister.” James smiled. “I have a present for you too, but I think it will be easier to show you tomorrow.”
“Really?” Sofia asked.
“Yeah, but I think you’ll like it.” James smiled. Sofia giggled happily.
Sofia looked around the ballroom from where she had found a step to watch the dancing from. She smiled softly, spying her mom and her new dad dancing around. She had enjoyed the dancing, it had been fun, but she was a little tired. She took a drink of the fruit juice she had been given.
“Here you are Sofia.” Sofia turned to see Amber coming over. “This is one big ball, getting a breather away from everyone seems like a good plan. Would you like to take a small walk with me?” Amber offered. Sofia thought about it, before accepting Amber’s hand. The older girl led Sofia from the ballroom, and into the halls. “How are you feeling? Today’s been quite the day.”
“Okay,” Sofia replied, surprising her new sister. “I think.”
“It’s a lot to take in all at once.” Amber smiled; Sofia nodded. “James and I are here to help if you wish it, just ask. And there is Baileywick, the castle steward, honestly, we would all be lost without him.”
“Castle Steward?” Sofia repeated.
“Yep, I can introduce you tomorrow. Oh, I know the party is still going on, but – would you like to see your room?” Amber asked.
“I would love to.” Sofia nodded. Amber took her hand and lead her around the castle to her room.
Sofia stared around the room with wide eyes, Amber stood back as Sofia wandered further in.
“I asked yo- mother what your favourite things were, so I could add them into the design of your room decor,” Amber said. “Do- Do you like it?”
“I love it, thank you, Amber!” Sofia hurried over and hugged her. Amber smiled and hugged her tightly.
“I’m slow glad, I was worried it would be wrong. But, this still is not everything. Princess Sofia, let me show you your closest!” Amber lead Sofia to the walk-in closest. Sofia smiled, every gown, shoe and tiara had purple on it.
“Wow!” Sofia gasped. “All these are for me?”
“Yep, Mother said you did prefer less – flashy gowns, so I made sure that, whilst looking like a gown befitting a princess, they would still be simple – I actually enjoyed designing these,” Amber admitted. “The tailor was a lovely woman to work with too.”
“You helped design them?” Sofia turned to her, Amber nodded.
“Yes, Your- well, our mother mentioned how some fabrics just feel wrong to you, understandable, I detest wearing silk, it feels weird against my skin.” Amber shivered, Sofia nodded in agreement, happy to find someone who felt the same. “So, we worked on designs, in your colour – which by the way, Purple is totally your colour. Suites you perfectly, we made sure every piece of clothing is a fabric you like.” Amber smiled. “What do you think?”
“Amazing, thank you, Amber. You didn’t have to go into such effort for my sake.” Sofia told her.
“Oh Sofia, I wanted to. I really wanted to. I love James, he’s my twin after all, but to have a sister.” Amber took her hands and smiled. “I’m so happy we are sisters, and I think we are going to get along well.”
“I think so too.” Sofia agreed with a nod, looking around the room. “Do I need this many tiara’s?” Amber giggled happily.
“Sofia, you’ll find that a different occasion requires a different style. Oh! I have to show you the daily tiara!” Amber clapped her hands, leading Sofia back into the main room, and opening a small closet by the bed. “Every day Bailey will set you clothes for the day in here – shoes, dress, tiara – your bag will be in her too for school, already packed.” Amber opened it. “This will be the daily gown – you have several identical ones with days of the week embroidered into the collar – to help you keep track of them.”
“Oh wow! I did that with my dresses at home!” Sofia beamed.
“I’m glad! And this is your Tiara.” Amber picked it up. Holding the silver tiara with hearts and small purple jewels.
“Wow.” Sofia smiled.
“You are officially Princess Sofia.” Amber placed it on Sofia’s head. “Does it feel okay?”
“weird, but – I think it’s something I can get used to.” Sofia smiled. “Um, Amber, I can ask you for advice, right?”
“Of course!” Amber nodded.
“Um – what’s school going to be like?” Sofia asked, Amber smiled, and the girls sat on the bed.
“So, where should I start? Oh, the teachers!” Amber smiled, Sofia listened intently to Amber’s words, the two forgetting the party.
Miranda, Roland, and James approached Sofia’s room, seeing the lights on and the two girls talking. Miranda covered her mouth lightly as they hurried to check on the girls. Finding Amber and Sofia on the younger girls bed, giggling. Sofia held a purple unicorn teddy close.
“I honestly loved that class, even if I had tripped, the princes were so nice!” Amber smiled.
“Think they’ll like me?” Sofia asked.
“Sofia, they will adore you. If they don’t there is clearly something wrong with them and are clearly not worth our time!” Amber huffed, Sofia giggled.
“Girls.” Roland greeted, causing the two to jump.
“Oh no! Did we miss the rest of the ball?” Amber asked.
“Sure, but you guys left me to have fun by yourselves.” James pouted. “What were you talking about?”
“School,” Sofia replied. “I’m so nervous.”
“You’ll be in the same class as Amber and I, so we’ll keep an eye on you and we can help with anything.” James beamed. Miranda walked over and kissed Sofia’s head.
“Sorry for missing the party mom,” Sofia whispered.
“Oh sweetie, I’m just glad you and Amber had fun. You only ever relaxed when you were at Jade or Ruby’s house.” Miranda said, Amber and James, kept quiet but watched softly. “How are you feeling?”
“Okay, I really feel okay Mom. Can – Can Amber and I have a sleepover tonight?” Sofia asked.
“I don’t see why not, I will ask Baileywick to bring up some calming tea for the two of you. Remember to change before sleep though.” Roland told them; the girls beamed.
“Then, I’ll see you all tomorrow. Goodnight Sofia, night amber, mom, Dad.” James was quick to run off to his own room. Roland and Miranda bid the girls good night and left them, closing the doors.
“Sofia, I will quickly run to my room to change, its right next to yours, I’ll be right back, would you like a hand picking out a nightgown first?” Amber offered. Sofia nodded.
Soon the girls were once again sitting on the bed, giggling. In the room, a small table with two seats had been set up with some tea and a few snacks. The two new sisters spent a lot of the night talking and truly taking time to get to know each other. When King Roland checked on them that morning, he found the two girls sleeping soundly, Sofia cuddled next to her new older sister. He quietly pulled the blankets up around the girls and left them to sleep a little longer.

Chapter Text
“Good morning girls.” Roland greeted Amber, and Sofia joined them. Amber leading a sleepy Sofia.
“Morning Daddy.” Amber smiled as Sofia mumbled a soft morning. Sofia and Amber sat next to each other. Miranda smiled happily, glad her daughters were getting along well.
“Did you have fun last night?” Miranda asked.
“The best.” Amber smiled. “I feel like I’ve known you forever.” She said softly to Sofia.
“Um-” Sofia nodded. “It was fun. Can we do it again sometime?” Sofia glanced at Amber.
“I would love to Sofia! Next time we can plan properly!” Amber smiled, Sofia looked pleased with the reply and looked at the pancakes that were brought out for breakfast.
“Hey Sofia, cause we don’t start school until tomorrow, would you like to see your gift from me after breakfast?” James offered. Sofia looked up and nodded, glancing around the table.
“Would you like some berries Sofia?” Amber offered, Sofia nodded happily accepting the bowl of fresh berries from her sister and carefully put a handful on top with a smile.
After breakfast, the three children hurried off alone, Amber holding onto Sofia’s hand.
“The stables?” Sofia asked confused. James grinned with a nod.
“Yep, you’ll see.” He told her, they made their way past stalls, Sofia looking up and smiling at every flying horse that looked back with joyful curiosity. “This is your gift.” Sofia gasped as they stopped by a stall. Sofia went up to it to see the smallest Flying Horse of the stable, he looked back curiously. “This is Minimus, he was originally at the school stable, but no one wanted to ride him cause he is smaller than the others. But, we felt maybe you would like to care for him, he deserves a happy home too.” James said.
“I love him.” Sofia smiled. “Can I go into the stall?” She asked.
“Of course!” James opened it up, and Sofia entered the stall nervously, Minimus looked equally nervous, Sofia smiled and hugged him. Minimus relaxed and snuggled her closer. James and Amber looked at each other happily, yes! Both gifts were an outstanding success!
“Can I learn to ride him?” Sofia asked
“Sure, Baileywick made sure you have riding clothes, Amber why not help Sofia find them, and I will get Minimus out to have a small stretch of his wings before the lesson?” James said.
“Of course! Come on Sofia, you can’t wear a gown whilst flying it’s very dangerous. I made sure that your riding outfit is just as amazing though.” Amber led her sister back up to the castle.
Once back down to the castle grounds, Sofia stood in a lovely purple riding outfit with a helmet as James led Minimus over along with another, much larger Flying Horse.
“Sofia, this is my Flying Horse, Echo.” James introduced her, Sofia gave a small wave, Echo shook his mane with a soft whinny, causing Sofia to beam. “Okay, let’s help you on to Minimus first,” James said, giving her a small boost onto his back. Sofia held on to the reins immediately, smiling happily. Minimus glanced back at her from the corner of his eyes making sure she was safe in place. “So, we won’t be flying right away, first, we are just going to do some normal riding. This will get you used to being on his back and also learn how to fly before actually attempting it.”
“Okay, so excited.” Sofia nodded. James beamed and mounted Echo. Amber sat back to watch the lesson as James began to walk Sofia through horse riding.
Baileywick came out with a small tea set to pour Amber some tea sometime later, he looked up to see James and Sofia trotting around the field next to the royal stables.
“She had picked it up so fast Baileywick,” Amber said proudly. “She is such a fast learner, and it looks like she is having so much fun.”
“It does, you and James chose excellent gifts.” Baileywick praised.
“I was so worried she wouldn’t like one, but I’m glad it all turned out alright.” Amber sighed, taking a sip of her tea. “Thank you Baileywick. Could you possibly bring lunch out to us later? I feel it will be near impossible to get them inside for a break?”
“Of course Princess Amber.” Baileywick smiled, he headed back inside to tell the King and Queen the good news.
“You’re doing great Sofia!” James cheered.
“This isn’t so bad.” Sofia smiled. “Thank you Minimus, you’ve been so nice to me.” Minimus whinnied happily, she hugged his neck.
“Are Flying Horses your favourite animal Sofia?” James asked curiously, Sofia shook her head. She immediately froze.
“I forgot Mr Patchears!” She gasped, “Help me down please!” She begged. James immediately hopped down and helped her get off her horse. Sofia ran for the castle, James headed over to where Amber was sitting.
“Is she okay?” Amber frowned.
“Yeah, she said she forgot Mr Patchears, though not sure who that is? Maybe a pet cause I asked her what her favourite animal was.” James replied.
“How curious,” Amber mumbled.
Sofia rummaged through her new toy chest, just throwing the toys out to find her beloved Mr Patchears. She didn’t hear her mother or new father entering the room.
“Sofia?” Miranda asked, Sofia stopped looking up.
“Mom, I can’t find Mr Patchears!” Sofia teared up, Miranda hurried forward.
“Oh sweetie, let’s look together shall we?” Miranda offered, Sofia nodded, sniffling sadly.
“Whose Mr Patchears?” Roland asked as Sofia went back to digging through the toy chest.
“Sofia’s favourite toy, her father made him for her before-” Miranda stopped. “Sofia can’t be without him, I suppose the excitement of everything made her forget this morning.”
“Um… A grey rabbit by any chance?” Roland asked.
“Yes!” Miranda nodded, Roland smiled. He went over to Sofia’s bed and pick up a roughed up, grey bunny teddy with an ear that was completely made with different patches of fabric. “Sofia, Roland found Mr Patchear,” Miranda said, Sofia jumped up, running round to them, eyes brimming happily as she reached up for him. Roland happily presented the bunny to the girl as she hugged it tightly. Sofia smiled at Roland.
“Thank you, Dad.” She sniffed.
“Anytime Sofia, I’m glad he wasn’t too far.” Roland smiled, Sofia nodded and hugged him.
“I need to introduce him to Amber and James, oh and Minimus!” Sofia gasped happily, rushing off. Miranda sighed in relief.
“Thank goodness he wasn’t lost, she would have been inconsolable.” Miranda smiled, “Thank you.”
“It was nothing, I am glad she is happy. She really does love Mr Patchears.” Roland said, Miranda took his arm.
“Well… Mr Patchears survived that storm with her.” Miranda told him sadly, Roland gripped her hand in comfort. “So, you can guess what else he means to her.”
“I think I have an idea of how we can make sure Mr Patchears doesn’t get lost if she takes him from the castle,” Roland said, Miranda, smiled as they left her room, as maids entered to clean up the toys.
That night, when Sofia was asleep, cuddling Mr Patchear close, King Roland entered with a new school bag. He carefully placed it at the end of her bed and left it, on the side was a pocket, perfectly sized for Mr Patchear to fit in.

Chapter Text
Amber woke Sofia the next morning, helping her sister pick out a gown to wear to school. Amber Pulled out another gown, showing it to Sofia.
"How about this one Sofia?" Amber asked, Sofia nodded happily and accepted it from her. " Great, good change, And we can go down to breakfast together."
"Okay, thank you, Amber." Sofia smiled happily, holding the gown to her chest.
Sofia changed and Stepped back into her room. She picked up her new bag, smiling at the note that came with it. Sofia got Mr Patchear and placed him in his new Place in her bag.
" Let's go Mr Patchear. We have a new School to see today!" Sofia told him happily. She rushed out to meet Amber outside, who carried her own bag.
"Mr Patchear looks really comfortable in that pocket," Amber commented, Sofia nodded in agreement.
"He likes it. Means I can keep him close." Sofia smiled.
"Great. I doubt he will want to miss a day as important as this." Amber agreed, "and of course, to start every big day like this is a special breakfast. And mother and daddy made sure that today has an extra special breakfast."
"Really? What are we having?" Sofia asked, accepting Amber's hand.
"Can't have a special breakfast without it being a surprise. But Mother assured us that it is something you love." Amber beamed, the sister made their way to the dining hall.
~*~*~*~
“Welcome to Royal Prep Sofia!” James and Amber welcomed her happily as the carriage stopped outside the school, Sofia awed softly as the coachman opened the door for them. James got out first to then help Sofia down after him.
“This school is so big,” Sofia muttered softly.
“Yes, I can’t wait to show you around!” Amber smiled happily, taking her sister’s arm. “It may take a while for you to learn your way around, but as we are in the same classes, James and I can show you.”
“Yay.” Sofia smiled happily.
“James!” A voice called, Sofia squeaked and hid behind Amber. She peeked over Amber’s shoulder as another Prince ran over.
“Zandar!” James greeted, the new prince saw Sofia and smiled.
“Hi, you must be their new sister, welcome to Royal Prep.” He said, Sofia gave a nervous nod, holding onto Amber’s arm nervously.
“He’s good, don’t worry Sofia. But we should head to class.” Amber told her, patting her hand. Sofia nodded, and let Amber lead her to their class.
Upon entering everyone turned their way, Sofia froze up a little. Amber patted her hand again and led her to some seats.
“We can sit next to each other, that way I can help if you are struggling with anything,” Amber told her.
“Thank you, Amber.” Sofia smiled, as the sisters sat next to each other. Sofia took Mr Patchear from her bag and set him on her lap, wrapping her arms around him, relaxing slightly.
“Wow! That teddy is really cute.” Sofia looked up as a Princess approached her. “I’m Princess Jun from Wei-ling, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“This is Mr Patchear,” Sofia said, “I’m Sofia.”
“Welcome to Royal Prep.” Princess Jun smiled. “Mr Patchear is adorable, handmade?”
“My first Dad made him,” Sofia spoke softly, hugging Mr Patchear close. “He’s always been with me.”
“Is it proper for you to bring such a thing to school?” Another Princess asked, looking at the patchwork teddy with disgust. Sofia held him closer.
“Princess Hildegard, Please remember that Sofia is new to this royal world, and if you have an issue with anything she does back off.” Amber glared at her, pulling out her fan and hiding her face. Hildegard stared at Amber in confusion, before turning away and taking her own seat.
“I think he’s lovely. I have a teddy like that a home.” Princess Jun sat at the desk behind Sofia, Sofia turned in her chair to face Jun. “They help me feel more confident when things get tough.” Sofia nodded in agreement. Amber smiled softly at Jun, mouthing Thank you to her. Sofia turned around again as a fairy dressed in red entered the room.
“Good morning everyone, we have a new Princess joining us today!” She grinned, Sofia blushed lightly. “So, everyone please be kind and welcome Princess Sofia.” Sofia smiled as everyone greeted her before lessons go underway.
~*~*~*~
“I am glad for a break.” Amber sighed as the class was let out to the playground, fanning herself lightly. “How are you feeling Sofia?”
“Good, classes were fun! I got the curtsy right!” Sofia smiled her bag on her shoulders with Mr Patchear’s in his pocket. Headmistress Flora had not minded the teddy at all, Amber could only assume her parents had already informed the fairies of the importance of the bunny, and she was glad they were okay with Sofia holding him during class - especially as she did so well.
“You were fantastic! The best curtsy I have seen all year! I’m so proud of you.” Amber smiled. “I know we will be working on waves this afternoon, but it shouldn’t be too much trouble.”
“Princess Amber.” The sisters stopped to see Princess Hildegard and her best friend Princess Clio.
“Hildegard,” Amber replied, a little on edge cause she was mainly concerned about what she would say to Sofia.
“Would you like to join us in the shade?” Hildegard offered, “Your step-sister, however, is not invited to join us.”
“I see, well, I will be staying with Sofia,” Amber informed her with a small smile. “We have a lot to talk about, we are new sisters and I want to know about my little sister, you understand.” Hildegard looked annoyed.
“You are seriously choosing her over us? There is something clearly wrong with her? You should see if there is a spell that can fix her.” Hildegard said, Sofia backed off as tears were quick to fall from her eyes, Amber moved Sofia behind her, furiously glaring at the other Princess
“How dare you, Hildegard!” Amber burst out drawing everyone’s attention in the gardens. James gasped as he saw Sofia crying and Amber looking ready to fight her best friend.
“Sofia!” James ran over hugging her. “Are you okay? What happened?” He looked at Amber, who huffed.
“It doesn’t matter, what does matter is that you are never to approach me or my sister again Hildegard!” Amber said. “Sofia, how about we take a walk around the forest path? The bird song there is lovely and it is rather peaceful and way from, such people.” She shot Hildegard a glare, but the moment her gaze returned to Sofia, it was soft and full of love.
“Or you can join us in a game of catch?” Zandar offered, Sofia turned to him wiping away her tears. The other prince held up the ball and threw it softly to Sofia who caught it, she gave a small smile at him. The other Prince’s happily agreed they can join in their game.
“Sounds like fun! Why don’t we join them Sofia?” Amber suggested, Sofia nodded happily, James and Amber led Sofia away from the other Princess’ as they stood in shock. Sofia threw the ball to a Prince smiling lightly even though tears still fell from her eyes.
“What happened?” James whispered to his twin.
“Hildegard is never welcome to anything I plan again,” Amber replied. “No one makes my baby sister cry.” James didn’t ask anymore but understood. He ran into play with everyone, catching the ball and throwing it to Sofia, she laughed as she happily got into the game.

Chapter Text
“Daddy! Hildegard is never welcome to visit again!” Amber said as they entered the castle, Sofia hummed lightly to herself, jumping from each brick on the ground. James kept his eye on her to make sure she didn’t fall. King Roland looked at his daughter in confusion, Miranda looked worried at her outburst.
“What happened?” He asked.
“She was horrible to Sofia, a complete and utter monster,” Amber replied, huffing fanning herself angrily. “I don’t want to ever subject Sofia to that toxicity outside of the classroom. Luckily, everyone else in class seemed to love her and helped cheer her up. I would rather avoid having Hildegard make Sofia cry again because I will not hold back next time.”
“You’re a good sister Amber, thank you for protecting her.” Miranda sighed in relief.
“Of course.” Amber smiled softly, looking back at Sofia, who had stopped giggling and James had joined in with her game..
“Sofia, how was your day?” Roland asked, drawing Sofia from what she was doing.
“I played ball, it was fun, and Princess Jun says we can introduce Mr Patchear to her teddy Bamboo.” Sofia smiled, running over and hugging Roland. He wrapped an arm around her.
“I’m glad, did you enjoy your lessons?” He asked
“I did a perfect curtsy! Headmistress Flora said it was lovely!” Sofia blushed happily.
“It was Daddy!” Amber added. “She did really well in all lessons!”
“You did a great job then Sofia, well done,” Roland said, Sofia blushed happily before she ran to hug her mother. Miranda hugged her tightly.
“So proud of you sweetheart,” Miranda told her, Sofia giggled happily.
~*~*~*~
Sofia decided to explore the castle a little as Amber and James had to go and do their own things, so she took Mr Patchear and began her exploration. She took some berries in case she got hungry.
The castle was huge, and Sofia was sure she was lost until she saw a Raven, she gasped happily.
“Hello, Mr Raven!” She greeted, the raven cawed and flew from her, Sofia giggled and ran after the bird, holding up the hem of her gown, until she rounded the corner and was able to stop before she ran into the person standing there. Sofia looked up at the man curiously, holding Mr Patchear close, until she spied the Raven she had been following. She smiled happily.
“Found you, Mr Raven!” She beamed and held up some berries. “I got these for you!” The Raven happily flew down and settled on her arm to eat, causing the princess to giggle.
“I’ve never seen Wormwood be so friendly around anyone else besides me.” The man said curiously
“Wormwood?” Sofia repeated.
“The Raven, he’s my familiar. I am Cedric, the Royal wizard. You must be the new Princess.” He looked at her. Sofia nodded.
“I’m Sofia! Wormwood is so nice.” Sofia beamed as he finished and flew back up to Cedric’s shoulder. “What does a royal wizard do?” She asked
“Well, all sorts I suppose. Mainly parlour tricks at the moment.” Cedric sighed.
“Wow, Amber says I’ll get to learn magic in classes now. It sounds really hard,” Sofia said.
“It is to start with.” Cedric nodded, before realising that, unlike when he was around most people, this little princess didn’t make him feel anxious just being there. It was quite comforting actually. “How would you like to see my workshop Princess?”
“You’re workshop?” She repeated.
“As a Royal Wizard I live within the castle too, I live and work in the left tower,” Cedric explained.
“Oh, I would love to - if it’s not too much trouble!” She nodded.
“Then follow me, Princess.” Cedric smiled.
Sofia gasped as she hurried into the workshop, before stopping to look around at all the ingredients and glass jars around the room.
Cedric just watched as the youngest royal looked around his workshop and made sure she touched nothing, he was impressed, but he didn’t show it of course. Even Wormwood was watching the girl curiously.
“Magic looks really hard to learn,” Sofia muttered softly. “ I don’t know if I can do it.” Sofia frowned.
“Everyone has a small amount of magic in them, Princess. Some more than others, but everyone should be able to learn some basic spells.” Cedric found himself explaining. Sofia frowned, not looking too sure about it as she fiddled with the skirt of her gown. He glanced at Wormwood who seemed to debate something, before he flew down and landed on a book, giving Cedric a look. Cedric turned to the Princess and knew what Wormwood was getting at. “Princess, let me show you something.” Sofia gave him a confused look as he got out a stool so Sofia could stand on it. She looked at the book Wormwood was sitting on.
“Magical artefacts?” Sofia read.
“Yes, and there is one in here that might interest you.” Cedric nodded, going through the pages until he found the right page. “The Amulet of Avalor.”
“It looks just like my Amulet!” Sofia gasped, cupping the teardrop jewel.
“It’s a chance that it might be the real deal. See it is considered one of the most powerful artefacts of all time.” Cedric explained. “For each deed performed, for better or worse, a power is granted, a gift or a curse.”
“Oho… so, it's like – giving something good for you if you are nice, but something bad when you need to learn a lesson?” Sofia asked.
“Yes, it is powerful, and goodness knows how many would be after its power. But you princess, the key to using magic – is having confidence. And the belief you can do it. I think, maybe the Amulet wanted to be with you, Princess Sofia, as no one has ever worn that amulet since I have been in the castle – though, I think Duchess Matilda wore it as a child.”
“Duchess Matilda?” Sofia asked.
“Yeah, King Roland’s older sister, so she is your aunt now. She travels a lot.” Cedric replied. Sofia looked down at the amulet and frowned and looked up at him.
“What if it is the Amulet of Avalor?” She frowned. Cedric smiled softly.
“I think if it is – it has picked the perfect Princess to watch over.” Cedric replied, “If something happens that is odd, please come and see me, I’m sure we can figure it out.”
“Thank you, Mister Cedric.” Sofia smiled.
“Anytime Princess.” He bowed.
~*~*~*~
“Sofia, I see you’ve met Cedric,” Roland said as Cedric led the princess to the dining hall.
“Yes and Wormwood!” Sofia beamed as the raven was happily seated on her shoulder. Amber and James stared at them in surprise.
“We have some work to do, come along Wormwood.” Cedric bowed and left, Wormwood cawed lightly, but flew after him, Sofia giggled and hurried to sit next to Amber.
“How unusual, Cedric and Wormwood usually hate being around people, no matter who they are.” Amber hummed lightly.
“Really? He was really nice, I got to see his workshop, magic looks so complicated.” Sofia smiled.
“It’s not that bad, but it can be tricky to start with.” Amber agreed.
“I wonder if Mr Cedric will help me if I struggle,” Sofia mumbled lightly.
“I think he would. His magic is pretty cool.” James said, Sofia smiled happily as dinner was brought out.

Author's note: I am currenty on holiday so I am posting a ton of chapters I have readby not had the time to post.
“Princess Sofia?” A voice asked, Sofia stretched from where she was bundled under her blanket and sat up, one arm wrapped around her bunny. She looked up to see Baileywick, he smiled down at her. “Good morning Princess.”
“Morning.” Sofia stretched again with a yawn, rubbing at her eyes.
“I need to make sure this dress will suit you for today.” He held up the gown, Sofia smiled and nodded.
“I like it!” She giggled. “Thank you Baileywick!”
“Of course Princess. I will see you downstairs.” Baileywick left her room, Sofia smiled and climbed out of bed, setting Mr Patchear down on the bed as she stood and picked up her gown.
Sofia changed and put Mr Patchear in her bag and headed out of her room where Amber was waiting.
“Morning Sofia, sleep well?” Amber asked.
“Yeah, think we can play with James and his friends again today?” Sofia nodded.
“I’m sure they’ll be happy too.” Amber smiled. “It was quite fun yesterday, I might join in this time.”
“Really?” Sofia asked. “I know you said you’re not much of an outdoor Princess.”
“Yes, you looked like you were having so much fun, and well, I want to join in on that. So we can have more to do together.” Amber nodded. “I might be more into gowns and tea parties, but that doesn’t mean I can’t do outdoor stuff, it will just take some time to get used to it.” Sofia hugged her tightly.
“You’re a really great sister Amber,” Sofia said. “You’ve been so nice to me, ever since I got here.”
“Of course, I didn’t want to be like those stepsisters in the fairytales,” Amber admitted. “They would give me nightmares, and James and I have always wanted another younger sibling you know. Our reasons have changed a lot, but now, we’re glad to have you, you’re a lovely person Sofia, just like all the fairytale Princesses.” Sofia blushed.
“My favourite Princess is Elsa, Who is yours?” Sofia asked.
“Oh, definitely Ariel. Can you imagine ever meeting a real-life mermaid?” Amber gasped happily.
“Do mermaids really exist?” Sofia asked.
“I’m not sure, I have never seen one - I sure hope so though, can you imagine?” Amber beamed, Sofia giggled happily.
“I hope we can meet a mermaid one day,” Sofia said
“Me too.” Amber agreed.
~*~*~*~
The school day started off well, Jun brought Bamboo to show Sofia and the two happily talked until classes began, Amber remained quiet during that, letting Sofia socialise with the class without her interference.
Sofia was worn out socially come break, so Amber took her arm and led her away for a small walk in the forested area.
“You did so well today Sofia.” Amber praised. “Are you feeling okay?”
“I think, just - so many people.” Sofia nodded.
“I understand, you held on so well. I’m proud of you.” Amber smiled, Sofia blushed happily, hugging her bunny close. “And it seems like you made some new friends.”
“Oh Princess Jun is lovely, and Bamboo is so cute!” Sofia beamed, before she could continue, there was a worried twitter nearby causing them to stop. Sofia looked around before she spotted where it was coming from.
“Oh, poor baby bird.” Sofia gasped, hurrying forward. She set Mr Patchear on the roots before she carefully scooped up the baby bird. Amber hurried over as Sofia returned the baby to the nest. “There you go.”
“Are they hurt?” Amber asked in concern.
“No, I think they were just scared.” Sofia smiled. “It’s a good thing we came along.”
“That’s a relief, oh, Sofia - your amulet -” Amber pointed, Sofia looked down to see the amulet in question.
“Oh, this must be what Mr Cedric told me about,” Sofia muttered softly.
“What do you mean?” Amber asked,
“Oh, do you know about this amulet?” Sofia said. Amber shook her head. “Oh, well, let’s walk, I don’t want anyone else to hear.” She picked up her bunny and began to walk.
“Okay, it’s not dangerous is it?” Amber asked. “I would hate to have put you in danger.”
“This is the Amulet of Avalor, it’s in Mr Cedric’s book of magical artefacts. it says For each deed performed, for better or worse, a power is granted, a blessing or curse. So, maybe the amulet felt I should get something for helping the baby bird.” Sofia said.
“I had no idea. At least it’s not dangerous, right?” Amber frowned.
“I’ll be okay! Mr Cedric says he will help, I trust him!” Sofia smiled; Amber nodded.
“Okay then, I do wonder what power the amulet has given you then. Helping a Baby bird was just so sweet - so by the rules of the amulet it has to be a blessing, correct?” Amber said.
“I suppose so - Amber, do you think I should tell Mom and Dad?” Sofia frowned. “I think Mom would be worried if I could suddenly do magic without explanation.”
“I mean, I think if they knew they would worry a little less if things go weird, but that choice is yours Sofia.” Amber smiled. “I’m honoured you wanted to tell me.” The girls stopped as they heard a bell ring “It's time to get back to class, we can work out the Amulet later.”
“Right, thanks Amber.” Sofia took her arm and the Princesses headed back to the school.
~*~*~*~
“We should go and speak to Mr Cedric about what happened to the amulet earlier.” Sofia said as Amber helped her out of the carriage.
“Good idea, we should head there right now.” Amber agreed, holding Sofia’s hand.
The two Princesses climbed up to the tower, and Sofia knocked on the door lightly. There was a moment's silence before the door opened to see Cedric.
“Ah, Princess Sofia, Princess Amber, how can I help?” He asked.
“Oh, it's about the Amulet.” Sofia said. “Amber was near me when it began to glow.”
“Ah, please come in.” Cedric stepped aside, Wormwood woke at them entering and looked down.
“Ah, the little princesses.” Wormwood said, causing Sofia to freeze, staring at Wormwood in shock.
“Sofia, are you okay?” Amber asked.
“I think.” Sofia let her hand go and walked over to Wormwood curiously. “Could you try saying to me Wormwood?”
“Say something too you?” He repeated, “Can you understand me Princess?”
“Oh wow! I can! I can understand Wormwood!” Sofia gasped happily, turning to the wizard and her sister.
“Oh, you did help a baby bird.” Amber pointed out. “Maybe you can understand birds.”
“Or all animals. Very interesting.” Cedric muttered and made note of it.
“I can speak to animals.” Sofia giggled happily. “It’s really nice to meet you Wormwood!”
“The pleasure is mine Princess.” He replied. Sofia beamed, Amber gasped lightly.
“If you can speak to all animals - you should be able to speak to Minimus!” She released, Sofia smiled.
“Minimus, let’s go and see him.” Sofia grabbed her sister's hand. “Thank you Mr Cedric, Wormwood.”
“We’ll return if she can understand all animals!” Amber called back as the princesses ran from the workshop
Chapter Text
Sofia and Amber entered the stables, Sofia immediately rushed over to Minimus’ stall. The Flying horse raised his head, eyes lighting up at seeing her.
“Hi Minimus! My amulet may have given me the power to speak to animals! So, I was hoping we would be able to talk together now!” Sofia told him.
“Wow? Really? What kind of amulet did they give you?” He asked curiously, Sofia giggled happily.
“No one else knew about its abilities. But I’m learning now!” Sofia beamed.
“You can understand him?” Amber joined her, Sofia nodded.
“It's so exciting, I can talk to animals.” Sofia beamed, she pet Minimus’ headed. “Love you Minimus, you were so nice to me when I was learning to ride.”
“It’s my pleasure Princess, I worry about everything, I still do. And with little wings and short legs no one ever wanted to pick me.” Minimus replied.
“Oh Minimus, I’m sure you have plenty of time to grow up much bigger!” Sofia beamed, “But you’re perfect, just as you are.” She hugged him.
“You really mean that?” Minimus asked.
“Of course, I’m glad James knew we’d make a great match.” Sofia smiled.
“He really was on point with the choice. From the sounds of it, from you side Sofia, people didn’t like how small he was?” Amber asked.
“Yeah, but isn’t he perfect?” Sofia turned to her sister.
“Of course!” Amber agreed. “Well, we know the amulet now lets you talk to all animals. That’s going to take some getting used to, for both of us.” Sofia giggled and nodded.
“We should go in for dinner. I’ll bring you some apples tomorrow Minimus, and we can go riding again!” Sofia promised.
“Looking forward to it!” Minimus nodded happily.
The Princesses left the stable arm in arm. Sofia wondered how she could explain it all to her parents, cause she wanted them to know, so they wouldn’t worry.”
~*~*~*~
“Mom, Dad, can I tell you something really important?” Sofia asked during dinner, causing her parents to pause for a moment.
“Is something wrong Sofia?” Miranda asked in concern.
“Princess Hildegard didn’t say something else to you did she?” James frowned.
“No-no, nothing like that - it’s just. The Amulet. Did you know its magical?” Sofia said.
“There was something my mother told me, saying the Amulet would watch over the Princess that wore it.” Roland admitted.
“Oh, it's a bit more than that Daddy.” Amber smiled, she gave Sofia a reassuring nod.
“Well, Amber and I went on a walk during break today. And I helped a baby bird who fell out of the nest. And - the Amulet began to glow after.” Sofia explained. “The amulet is in Mr Cedric’s book of magical artefacts, it's the Amulet of Avalor. And it grants the wearer powers.”
“What kind of powers?” Miranda asked.
“Nothing bad mom, well, not usually.” Sofia added quickly. “It says For each deed performed for better or worse, a power is granted, a gift or a curse.”
“We spoke to Mr Cedric once we got back, and explained what happened, and well, Sofia can now understand animals for helping the baby bird.” Amber said.
“Understand animals?” The family repeated.
“Yes, I spoke to Wormwood, and Minimus. I could understand them perfectly.” Sofia nodded.
“I see, Baileywick, could you get Cedric for us?” Roland asked, the castle steward bowed and hurried to get him.
“Please don’t be angry at Mr Cedric, we didn’t even know it was the Amulet of Avalor until we got back to the castle.” Sofia said. “We felt it could be styled after it!”
“It’s okay Sofia, he’s not in trouble. But as it is a magical artefact, we would like his own opinion on it. We’re glad he is so willing to help you.” Roland assured her, Sofia sighed in relief.
“Your majesties.” Cedric bowed as he entered the hall, Sofia giggled as Wormwood flew over to her, resting on the back of her chair. She held up her glass of water to let him have a drink.
“Cedric, Sofia has explained the amulet to us. We’d like you to keep an eye on it and all magic it gives her, if that is not too much trouble.” Roland said.
“Of course, I have started that at least with the first power.” Cedric nodded.
“I have concerns about the potential curses she may gain.” Miranda frowned.
“The amulet will only curse the wearer if they do something that is considered morally wrong. Or something that can be seen as against what a Princess is.” Cedric explained. “The curse will not be permanent either, if a curse is gained Sofia can learn from the mistake and make things right the curse will be removed.”
“I’ll be careful Mom, if I get a curse, I will come to you.” Sofia promised. “I don’t want to make people sad.”
“Oh Sofia, if you are cursed at anypoint, it will likely be caused because of a misunderstanding.” Amber smiled. “You are one of the most kind-hearted people in Royal Prep.” Sofia blushed lightly.
“Well, I suppose we are okay with you keeping the amulet on Sofia.” Roland nodded. “We are all here to help you if you feel it gets a bit too much to bare.”
“Okay! Thank you Dad!” Sofia beamed. “I really like being able to talk to animals. Wormwood is so clever like Mr Cedric.” She looked up at the Raven.
“You make me blush Princess.” Wormwood commented, Sofia giggled.
“It will take some getting used too, hearing you talking to animals.” Miranda smiled softly. Sofia smiled happily, she was glad she got to keep the amulet.
~*~*~*~
Sofia climbed into her bed with Mr Patchear in her hands with a yawn, she pulled her blankets up and cuddled her bunny.
“Today was a good day, I hope tomorrow is just as nice.” She said, smiling down at him. “I wonder if we can go flying tomorrow, that will be so much fun! I bet Minimus will like it too.” Sofia jumped as the window opened and two birds entered, she stared at them confused as they looked back, only for a rabbit and squirrel to enter the room from a whole in the wall. “Oh, hi there. I’m Sofia! I can talk to animals!” Sofia smiled happily.
“Wait, so you can understand us?” The robin asked, Sofia nodded.
“Yep, were you looking for shelter from the night, you’re welcome to stay.” Sofia told them.
“I’ll take you up on that Princess!” The Rabbit hopped on to the bed, Sofia giggled.
“Great, a big sleepover with new friends!” She beamed, “I should sleep though, I have school tomorrow.” Sofia lay down, but she saw the birds settle on the bed frame, whilst the rabbit and squirrel settled at the end of the bed. She went to sleep with a small smile on her face.
Chapter Text
“Time to wake up Princess.” Sofia mumbled lightly under her breath as a paw patted her cheek, she opened her eyes to find the rabbit looking at her. She yawned and sat up, looking around for an amount before taking hold of Mr Patchear’s hand.
“Morning.” She yawned.
“Time to change, princess!” The birds chirped, already holding up a dress, Sofia smiled and hopped out of bed, accepting the gown and running behind the changing screens.
“I never got your names.” She said as she began to get ready for the day.
“The rabbit’s Clover, the Squirrel is whatnought, This is Mia and I’m Robin.” The robin introduced.
“I’m happy to meet all of you.” Sofia stepped out dressed and looked around. “Where did I put my shoes?”
“Here ya go princess!” Clover found them slightly under the bed.
“Thank you!” She happily put them one, smiling as Robin and Mia placed her tiara on her head. “Thank you for helping me, would you like to join me for breakfast?”
“Oh, would we!” Clover beamed, Sofia giggled, getting her bag and heading out, almost running into Amber as she did, Amber saw the animals and laughed.
“Already making friends with all the woodland creatures Sofia?” Amber asked.
“Yes! This is Clover, Mia, Robin and Whatnought. They helped me make sure I have everything, so I invited them for breakfast.” Sofia beamed.
“Oh lovely!” Amber smiled. “At this rate you’ll befriend the whole woodland in no time.” Amber held out her arm as an invitation to Sofia, who happily accepted and smiled.
“I don’t want people at school to know. I think its best being a secret from them.” Sofia told her, Amber smiled softly and patted her hand.
“I understand. The amulet is very special, and in the wrong hands, likely very dangerous.” Amber told her. “But it is your choice to make, if you don’t want others to know, then you are not required to tell them. You didn’t even have to tell me, or the rest of the family if you really wanted. But I will stand by every choice you make, unless its dangerous and then I will have to deny so I can keep you safe.” Amber told her; Sofia smiled.
“Thanks Amber.” Sofia leaned against her.
“Anytime Sofia.” Amber told her, holding her sister close, chuckling lightly as the birds settled on Soia and her shoulders. “You’re like Princess Aurora, all the animal friends.”
“Really? I would think more Snow white.” Sofia said, Amber laughed and nodded as they entered the dining hall.
“Good morning Girls – Oh, I see you have some friends.” King Roland smiled, Miranda covered her mouth, smiling widely.
“This is Robin, Mia, Clover and Whatnought.” Sofia introduced. “They helped me this morning.”
“So, Sofia invited them to breakfast, if that is okay with you.” Amber said.
“They are happy too, Baileywick.” Roland turned to the steward, who nodded with a smile and headed to the kitchen as the girls sat down. Sofia’s new friends happily ate the food they were given before the children headed off to school.
“It’s going to get some getting used to.” Roland chuckled as the animals rushed after the children, likely to bid Sofia bye.
“I know, but isn’t it sweet?” Miranda smiled; Roland nodded softly.
~*~*~*~
James helped Sofia down from the carriage, she stumbled a little, but he was able to keep her up, Amber hopped down after her.
“You okay Sofia?” She asked.
“Yep.” Sofia nodded, “Thanks James.”
“No problem, I promised to meet Zandar before class, so I’ll see you later.” James beamed, Sofia and Amber watched him rushed off.
“Do you think Princess Jun would like to talk before class again?” Sofia looked at Amber, who smiled.
“I’m sure she’ll love too.” Amber smiled. “Let’s go and see if she has arrived, shall we?” Sofia nodded happily.
“Princess Jun! We’re glad to have caught you!” Amber watched as the Princess of Wei-ling got out of her carriage.
“Princess Amber, Princess Sofia.” She smiled, hurrying over. “Good Morrow, both of you.”
“Good morrow.” Amber replied, “How are you today.”
“I’m good, I’m glad I ran into you this early, I have a gift for you Sofia.” Jun smiled; Sofia looked at her confused.
“You didn’t have too.” Sofia told her.
“Maybe not, but I thought you’d really like this.” Jun pulled out a purple box from her bag, and handed it to Sofia.
“Maybe we should head to class, and open it there.” Amber suggested, Sofia nodded holding the box in one arm as she took Amber’s hand.
The trio of Princesses settled into their seats, Sofia took out Mr Patchear and set him on her lap before she opened th gift, and pulled out a pair of lilac fans with silver Lily’s painted on with a delicate hand. Sofia awed softly, a few other princesses looking their way.
“I love them. Thank you.” Sofia smiled happily; Jun looked relieved.
“I’m glad you like it.” Jun smiled. “My mother loves patterned Fans, so I asked her if we can look for one for you.” Sofia heled the purple lily patterned fan to her chest.
“It’s so pretty.” Sofia said.
“They are lovely, what a thoughtful gift Princess Jun.” Amber smiled. “We should arrange a play date after Sofia’s welcome ball.”
“Like a tea party in the gardens with the butterflies?” Sofia asked excitedly.
“I’d love that.” Jun smiled.
“Great, Our steward will write your steward to finalise plans.” Amber smiled; Sofia looked at Amber a little confused. Amber patted her hand softly. “I’ll explain later, but don’t worry, its something easy to pick up. Oh, we could invite your village friends too! Mother mentioned them, Jade and Ruby, right?”
“We can invite them too?” Sofia smiled.
“Of course, it will be splendid.” Amber clapped her hands. “Your first royal playdate, we can make it as fun as you want.” Sofia smiled excitedly.
The time left before class was Jun and Amber showing Sofia how to use the fans in a princess-like way, Sofia blushed happily when Headmistress Flora complimented her fan skills for a first-time attempt, the good start to the day left Sofia in a very happy mood for the rest of the day.
