Chapter Text
"Oh Xiao~" Venti sung. "You know I would really appreciate it if you start paying attention to my class you know, if your not gonna pay attention how are you going to pass your exams?" Venti knowing Xiao, he would probably ignore him or say something else. As expected Xiao ignored him. He could of course just ignore that and continued onto his lesson but apparently Xiao has been failing school so as the good teacher he is, he repeats himself "Xiao this is an unacceptable behavior in my class and if your not going to listen then might as well leave" as he pointed out to the door. At this point Venti was starting to get mad. "And what if I don't?" Xiao shot back while still looking at his phone not making eye contact with the teacher. "Xiao this is the last straw is you don't get out right--" "Well might as well not teach like don't you have a whole class here waiting for you to be done with your bullshit? I'm staying here cause its my fucking choice and I want Attendance marks so--" Xiao finally looked up from his phone to see Venti right in front of him looking really mad. Venti is usually the nice, not strict and funny teacher everyone knows and this was the first time ever anyone saw him this mad. Venti looked at Xiao with a death glare. (lmao this probs the last thing the khaenri'ah ppl saw)
"Detention. Now."
Xiao stood up and followed what Venti said. He have never ran out of the class that fast. Sprinting through the hallways with sweat from running and fear he finally went to the room. He took a few deeps breathes before coming in. The room was empty with a few tables and chairs around. This wasn't the first time Xiao had went to detention so he knew what to do. He sat on the chair and waited for the teacher so he could be lectured.
A few minutes pass by, Zhongli entered the room expecting Xiao to already be there after hearing the information that happened a while ago. "So, Do you know why your here Xiao?" a few silent seconds pass by for Xiao to slowly stand up from his chair with his head down. "Yes sir" he replied, "Good, Xiao you should really start paying attention to class cause making Venti mad isn't something you'd see everyday. Its actually rare. And the principle informed me that you will have detention for 2 months" Xiao of course surprised, blurted out without thinking "2 MONTHS? HO--" Zhongli taps on the desk lightly, a sign to silence Xiao while reading his book. "Like I said, making Venti mad is really a serious thing knowing him cause he's a very patient man in situations like these, not to mention its not your first time not listening to his classes and it was the principle who thought of this not me." Xiao slowly sits back down looking down the table regretting every decision made. Now he wont be able to spend his break in the classroom or eat lunch in the cafeteria cause now he has to do it all in detention. great.
"I forgot to mention Xiao, there will be someone else from another class joining you"
"From what class may I ask sir?"
"From Ningguang's, she should be here by--"
Suddenly the door burst open causing everyone (especially xiao) to reveal a girl with pigtails and playful smile "Did I scare ya?~" she asked the two despite knowing they both were shocked by her "grand" entrance. "Hu tao what did we say about entering a classroom politely?" her only reply was a small giggle as she walks and sit a chair away besides Xiao. Xiao just knew he wouldn't get along with her just by first impression. "Alright, Hu tao you know why you're here. You're going to stay in detention for a month." Xiao a bit jealous rest his head on his arm looking the opposite direction of Hu tao. Phones weren't allowed in detention so he just stayed there getting lost in his thoughts. Xiao not even noticing Zhongli leaving the room. Hu tao on the other hand didn't want to disturb Xiao (yet) so she just created little braids on her hair out of boredom even though she just entered the room 5 minutes ago.
10 minutes pass by until Hu tao, with her messy hair, attempts on having a conversation with someone who will have the least chance on even breathing the same air.
"Soooooo.... why are you here?" Xiao was kind of shocked cause of the sudden noise. He was already in a bad mood and annoyed but he still replied despite not wanting to for some reasons.
"Its none of your business."
"Oh come on.. At least try and make a conversation with me." She pouts
"I have no interest in having one with someone like you."
"Jeez your like that bookworm but worse... Come on! Its not like we have anything to do.." She whined
Xiao had to agree. Phones weren't allowed and there wasn't even a marker for the whiteboard which could be really helpful for drawing random stick figures to keep him distracted as he is not that talented with the pen, and at this point he's going to die of boredom as his thoughts are slowly fading away from him.
Talking with her wont give any harm right?...
