Work Text:

“For fucks sake Eric!! You had one job! MAKE SURE WE DON’T GET SHOVED OFF THE BRIDGE!”

“Well, it’s hard when its pissing it down with rain, asshole! What do you want me to do next?! Create fucking window wipers for my glasses?!”

“I want you to get out of the stream and stop whining like a little bitch so we can find some place to stay! None of the portals our portals are open at this time, so we’ll need to find some place fucking cheap-“

Eric quietly stood there, arms crossed as he hung his head, visibly upset about being yelled at by Alan, who was trying to get a room for the night, completely drenched to the bone just as Eric was.

Soon, Alan turned back to Eric, handing him the room key before walking out the door, leaving eric confused before he went the opposite way and up to the room, he didn’t expect it to be anything nice, as it was a cheap motel, but god, it was nice, Alan did say he would get the cheapest one, right? “Decent enough-“ Eric closed the room door, shrugging off his soaked jacket and hanging it up to dry.

It felt odd being alone in the room, he was so used to Alan being there right beside him that it just wasn’t right not having him there. Fuck, if he had just listened and paid attention, just as Alan said, maybe he wouldn’t be in such deep shit. Gods, maybe he should apologise when he gets back. Surely, Alan would understand, he hated being in the doghouse with Alan.

Speak of the devil and he will appear. Alan quietly walked into the room, door clicking behind him as he sighed, looking over at Eric, who was laying back on the bed, the singular bed, shirt opened as he shivered quietly. Alan did feel bad, not like he didn’t before, before he just didn’t know how to apologise.

He continued his walk to the bathroom, grabbing a fresh towel and throwing it at Eric while he had one for himself, drying his wet hair “you’ll soil the pillow, asshole.” He ruffled up his once smooth hair to dry it, looking over at Eric, who looked no different that to what he usually does. He always loved Erics fluffy hair, and he had no explanation as to why. Just twirling it around his fingers, playing with it, burying his head into it before leaning in to kiss his neck, even tugging it felt good. But now isn’t the time for this. That little habit of his has already warmed him up too much, he felt like he was on fire, he doesn’t need anything. Which, really wasn’t anything new, ‘thorns er ah bitch’ as Eric like to put it. “ ‘ave ye been smokin’ or sommat, Al? I can smell it from ‘ere-“ Alan left the towel on the floor next to the bed, he was too tired to deal with this “.. no” He lied “there were people outside..-“

“I know a liar when I see one.” The two remained silent for a moment, with Alan undressing himself to stop over heating and passing out, leaning back to lay with the covers over the lower half of his body, not to be indecent. Eric got the same idea, except he was hogging the entire blanket “It really isn’t that cold.”

“Says the one who’s got illness to keep him warm-“ Eric shivered and rolled up in the blanket more, shivering his nuts off while tugging it off Alan, who’s now just there in boxer shorts. At least eric doesn’t see him, as he was faced away. Huffing, Alan slid off his glasses and put them on the night stand, simply getting comfortable and attempting to sleep, even with eric shivering like mad beside him. The water wasn’t even that cold.

Not even 20 minutes later, Alan woke up abruptly to a large frame cuddling him tightly, no longer shivering “really..?” Alan yawned, unable to keep his eyes open. “I couldn’t sleep..-“ Erics voice was laced with tiredness too, leaving him to nuzzle the crook of Alans neck.

Alan sighed contently, shuffling around to hug eric, and nuzzle his chest, giving Eric his body warmth in return for a nice cold sensation to cool him down. “It really isn’t that cold-“

“You keep telling yourself that, sweetheart.” Alan blushed, sitting in silence for a moment before holding eric tighter “I’m- sorry for yelling at you earlier- I need to control my temper… more- of course..-“

“ ‘s fine, Al.. I’m glad you’ve apologised…” A soft kiss was placed atop Alans head “…but first… sleep. We’ll talk about it in th’ mornin’..”

“Still… I don’t want you to… view me different than what I always am…” He paused, suddenly cut off by snoring. Chuckling to himself, he gladly gave in to being eric’s personal heater. “bastard.”
