Whispers of the Night

Summary:

It's a secret even Kaito didn't know about.

Notes:

Hi, I wrote this to compete with my sister (Vibespiders). She wanted to write a Judgement (Judge Eyes) fanfiction about vampires. AHAHAHA! I wrote one too and forgot about it until now!

I hope you enjoy this little part. There might be a second part, but I have run out of ideas. Also, I have moved on to different projects.

If this becomes popular enough, I will write more.

Work Text:

It was a normal night in Kamurocho. Kaito was sitting in Yagami's office reading the latest issues of a manga. "Oh shit," Kaito says turning the page to keep reading. He liked reading manga when there wasn't anything to do. He didn't mind sitting around reading. Yagami was meeting Tsukumo at the internet café down the street. He got a text a few minutes ago that Yagami was walking back.

"Hey, Tak," Kaito says without looking at the door. Suddenly, he feels something sharp bite into the side of his neck. "The hell," Kaito jumps up from the couch. The manga falls to the floor. He turns around quickly. He thinks he welcomed in a crazy person.

He sees Yagami standing there wiping his face with the back of his hand. "The actual fuck," he says touching the side of his neck, and he removes his hand to inspect the injury. There's blood on his hand. He clamps his hand over the wound. "Did Tsukumo show you a new fetish online or something? I swear if this is some sick joke."

"Kaito," Yagami says leaning against the couch. Kaito notices that Yagami is very pale.
"Tak?" Kaito asks still not willing to let go of his neck wound.
"I'm going to pass out," he says hitting his head on the couch as he falls to the ground.
"Shit," Kaito says rushing over to the back of the couch. He lifts Yagami up to a sitting position. "Yo, Tak, can't pass out on me like that. Have you eaten at all today? Did you get into a fight on the way back?"
"Um…" Yagami says.

Kaito brings him over to the couch to lay down. "Are you not feeling well? You should have said something before going to meet Tsukumo."
"Kaito," Yagami begs through laboured breaths. "I went to Tsukumo. He can't do anything for me."
"What did you ask him to do?" Kaito says sitting on the coffee table. Yagami handed a small plastic box to Kaito. Kaito took one sniff of the plastic. It was an all too familiar smell as if it were baked into the plastic.

"Blood?" Kaito says holding the plastic box gingerly. Yagami clutches his forearm trying to contain himself. "Why the hell do you need blood for?" Yagami's fingernails dig into his fake leather jacket. He didn't want to say it. He opened his mouth. "You're a goddamn vampire," Kaito jumps up from the coffee table. He leaves the plastic box on the table and moves away from Yagami.

"Kaito," Yagami tries to sit up. He feels so weak.
"Why the fuck are you a vampire!" Kaito starts yelling.
"Kaito, please," Yagami begs again. "I just need something to hold me over."
"So you think sinking your teeth into me was your best bet?" Kaito says.
"I've tried to control it, okay. It doesn't help that there are so many people here. I struggled to get back here. I swear I have never bitten anyone on purpose. I always asked," Yagami says. "Please Kaito. I just need blood or I'll lose control."

Kaito shifted his feet from one side to the other. He sighed and rolled up his sleeve.
"Take it," he says walking closer to Yagami.
"Uh, you're just going to give it to me?" He says looking at Kaito's arm.
"As long as I don't turn into one, I'll do it," he says.

Yagami's sharp teeth sunk deep into Kaito's forearm. "It stings," Kaito whispers. He feels the blood leaving the wounds and the bruising that comes with it. Yagami doesn't say anything. Kaito slowly feels like his hand is numbing. He flexes his fingers if he moves his arms too much the puncher wounds hurt.

He starts worrying when he feels a little dizzy, but he doesn't say anything. It's only when he starts seeing black dots in his vision, he starts to talk. "Tak, I think you should stop," he warns Yagami.

"Really, Tak," he places his free hand on Yagami's shoulder. Yagami isn't letting go, and he starts to feel like he's going to throw up. He lets go of Yagami's shoulder, and he grabs the back of the couch with his good hand. "Tak, Tak, stop," he whines before Yagami removes his mouth away from Kaito's forearm.

"Kaito?" Yagami comes back. "Shit," he says helping Kaito onto the couch. He moves out of the way to give him space to lay down. "Put your feet up here," Yagami directs him. Kaito laughs. "I think I took too much from you." Yagami pulls Kaito's hands up and over his chest. "I'm going to get you something to eat," Yagami rushes over to the kitchen area. There's isn’t very much. Yagami digs through the cupboard and finds a few stale crackers.

"Here, I'll text one of the guys to bring food over," Yagami says handing the bag of crackers to him. Kaito doesn't have enough strength to feed himself. "Ever-thing feels weird," Kaito says out of breath. "Everything feeling like a fishbowl." He says looking at the ceiling.
"Like you are going to pass out?"
"Yeah, and vomit at the same time. Is that normal?" He asks not grasping the severity. Yagami knows all too well that he has taken too much from Kaito.

Yagami takes the cracker from Kaito and places them onto the coffee table. "I'm I going to be okay?"
"Sure you are big guy," Yagami says taking his phone out and starts texting. "You're still talking."
"I guess. It doesn't feel real," Kaito tries to sit up, but Yagami pushes him down.
"Hey, lay down."
"Ooof," Kaito lays down and the blood is rushing to his head.
"I texted someone they are going to be here in a few minutes," Yagami says putting his phone back into his pocket. "I'll get you some water." Yagami walks back to the kitchen.

"Yagami, you need to stop when people say stop. It's getting a bit out of control," the man says putting an IV onto Kaito's arm.
"I promise it wouldn't happen again," Yagami put his hands together, so the man would forgive him.
"Yagami have you thought of talking to the man who turned you?"
"Why would I do that? The last time I went there. He tried to force me into his family." Yagami rubs the back of his neck.
"Why don't you talk to one of the other people in his family. It might be easier," the man started cleaning the area. "You're eating off of your friends, and the blood pills aren't working."
"I get it," Yagami says putting his hand into his pocket.

"Once he is feeling better, he can start eating. If he still wants to throw up, don't feed him." The man says throwing his bag over his shoulder.
"Thanks, Sugumoto-san," Yagami says.
"You're welcome. I hope Kaito gets well-soon," he looks over and Kaito gives him a thumbs up.

"How are you feeling?" Yagami asks after a few hours. The IV bag was empty, and Yagami was gently removing the needle out of his arm.
"Like a million yen," Kaito says.
"Don't try to play the tough guy," Yagami says putting a bandage on Kaito's arm. "The last time you said you felt like a million yen, you had a head concussion and you were stabbed. There was so much blood even I had a tough time controlling myself." Kaito laughs.
"I guess you caught me," Kaito puts his hands up like he's getting arrested by the police.
"It's not funny, Kaito," Yagami says. Kaito laughs again.

Kaito drank a bit of water from a glass with a crazy straw. "What's it like to see me bleed?"
"Why would you ask me that? Has the blood drained from your brain?" Kaito laughed weakly.
"Maybe, but really, it must have been really difficult."
"Are you kidding me? Yagami threw himself onto the armchair. "It's always tough to see fresh blood. It doesn't come by easily."
"Did you like my blood?"
"Like?"
"Or do you love it?" Yagami rolled his eyes.
"Go to sleep. You're annoying." Kaito laughed again, and he closed his eyes. Yagami knew when Kaito was asleep, but he wasn't asleep. "Go to sleep, Kaito." Yagami said annoyed. Kaito smirked before making himself more comfortable on the couch. Yagami couldn't help but smile back. He grabbed the blanket and draped it over Kaito.
