perhaps it is fitting that he dies suddenly; a body so warm and so cold at the same time, heat leaving quickly and fading onto his vision.
there is a loud noise he realizes, something or rather someone he has missed. despite the passage of time the grip on him is comforting, no matter the circumstances.
he smiles, a true smile to make up for all the years of lies. perhaps he has failed his people, but he figures in these moments he is allowed one last peace.
it is so loud and quiet, so hot and cold. when was the last time he felt like this? and will it at least end better than before?
the world around him grows louder and quiet, an iron grip slipping despite not being changed at all.
he wills his lips to move, drool and blood mixing as his tongue drags along.
“i’m sorry,” he whispers, a silent ‘i love you’ between brothers, “i hope you’ll be able to be happy.”
even in the end, he finds that his true feelings escape him as the curtains fall closed.
