Work Text:

Beomgyu was happily going about his day. The schedule for the boys had been pretty chaotic lately, and this was his first day off in a while. He randomly remembered the gallon of strawberry ice cream he had bought a few weeks ago but had forgotten about due to the hectic time. A grin creeped on his face as he put his phone down for the first time that day and made his way to the kitchen. As he held his hand out to the door handle, the door barged open, hitting him in the forehead, knocking him to the ground.

“Gyu! Come quick! This is so funny oh my- Beomgyu??'' The figure, who Beomgyu had deemed to be Hueningkai, questioned the older’s whereabouts, unaware of what he had just caused. Beomgyu groaned in pain as Kai’s eyes widened.

“I’m so sorry.” he said, failing to hold back a stifled laugh. He held his hand out to his poor band member on the floor, scratching his head awkwardly. With glaring eyes, he grabbed the younger’s hand and when he reached his feet, slapped Hueningkai over the head, causing him to wince.

“You klutz, learn to knock. Anyway what's going on?” Beomgyu asked, curious as to what had Hueningkai so jittery. He rubbed the back of his head exaggeratingly before replying,

“Come to the kitchen, Yeonjun is mad and...just come.” he told Beomgyu, earning a deep sigh in reply. Whatever, he was going to the kitchen anyway. They exited the bedroom, headache creeping up on both of them. As they approached the kitchen, they heard yelling, coming from no other than Yeonjun.

“If you don't tell me who did this, I swear to god I'm going to fight everyone in this household until someone confesses.” Yeonjun stated, quite intimidatingly. What had happened that had caused Yeonjun to react like this?

“What’s going on-” Beomgyu started, a confused look clouding his face, before Yeonjun could no longer hold back his emotions.

“I bet it was you, wasn't it?” Yeonjun interrogated the younger, slightly more aggressive than he meant to. Beomgyu's perplexed expression remained, not catching on to what was going on. Taehyun had his head perched on his hand, an unimpressed look plastered on his face. He was clearly tired of this argument. Soobin sighed as Hueningkai struggled to hold back a laugh, Yeonjun almost immediately darted his eyes over to him. Beomgyu just wanted to get his strawberry ice cream and now he was involved in this accusation, he didn't even know what was going on.

“Was it you?? This seems like something you'd do just to get me to react.” Yeonjun questioned, his eyebrows furrowed. Hueningkai quickly shut up, clearly intimidated by Yeonjun’s demeanor right now.

“Yeonjun I promise it's not that serious, we can get another one.” Soobin reasoned. Had someone creased his shoes? Broken his phone past the point of repair? Taken his most expensive jewellery without permission and hasn’t returned it? Yeonjun shook his head, dismissing Soobin’s pleas to stop this interrogation. Beomgyu looked to Taehyun for answers, but he just shrugged his shoulders and continued to give all of his attention to his phone, not caring about Yeonjun’s investigation.

“No Soobin. No we can't. Somebody in this room is a t h i e f and I'm going to find out who, right here, right now.” Yeonjun persevered, needing to find out who had committed this heinous crime. Soobin rubbed his temples, trying to calm down from the sheer stupidity he was hearing from the eldest member of his group, before finally giving in to Yeonjun’s determination.

“Fine, but I'm sleeping. Good luck fixing this situation.” Soobin huffed sarcastically, heading to his room. Hueningkai grabbed his wrist and frowned.

“But we were supposed to watch a movie together..all of us...” he said, disappointed in the turn of events. Beomgyu’s eyes darted around the room frantically, searching for some sort of answer to this argument, albeit failing. He didn't know what this whole spat was about, and he didn't know they were planning to watch a movie together?????? Taehyun also dragged himself up from his chair, clearly agitated by Yeonjun’s sudden outburst.

“I dont have the time for this, over something so stupid, too.” Taehyun complained, walking over to Soobin whilst groaning dramatically. Beomgyu was dumbfounded, what had turned the group against each other so severely?

“But someone had time to eat my ramen so you're gonna make time for this.” Yeonjun retorted, not impressed with Taehyun's tone. Soobin cried out loud in annoyance as Beomgyu's jaw dropped. He was really mad over ramen. This boy………..

“Okay, Hueningkai, come with me.” Beomgyu practically dragged poor Kai by the strings of his hoodie, heading out the front door before Yeomjun had any time to protest. Hueningkai whined, indicating that he wanted the older to explain why he had randomly dragged him outside, pulling up his hood in hopes that no one would recognise him outside at 12:19am with Beomgyu.

“We’re gonna get some ramen to make him shut the fuck up, and then we’re gonna watch a movie,” Beomgyu explained his plan, making Kai squeak in excitement. But he wasnt stupid, he knew Beomgyu chose to bring him out of everyone there for a reason.

“You ate it, didn’t you?” he questioned, causing Kai to huff and roll his eyes, despite expecting the added interrogation from him.

“No, I did not, thank you very much.” He denied, pretending to take offense from the accusation, only making him look more guilty to Beomgyu. He raised an eyebrow at the younger, only to be met with a small shrug of the younger’s shoulders. I guess he'll figure it out when they get home.

They arrived at the local convenience store, scanning the aisles for the holy ramen that had enough power to divide the otherwise content group. He knew Yeonjun enjoyed spicy ramen, so added it to his basket, as well as a few other movie snacks he and Hueningkai wanted. They paid for their groceries and made their way home, both sighing occasionally, remembering how stupid this argument was. Beomgyu just wanted to get home so he could eat his strawberry ice cream whilst watching the movie, and nothing was going to stop him, not even Yeonjun.

Hueningkai was the first to approach the door, entering quite dramatically as three angry faces turned towards him.

“Your saviour has retur- what's with the faces?” Kai stopped, halfway through his very egotistical statement. Beomgyu approached the entrance to their dorm soon after, hopping along with the bag of goodies. Ignoring the group glaring at them both, Beomgyu happily bounced towards the kitchen, placing the groceries on the counter. The rest followed shortly after, curious as to what snacks the two had bought on their short excursion. He dug deeply into the bag, revealing five cup ramen, similar to a magician who had pulled a rabbit out of his hat, attempting to poke fun at Yeonjun’s child-like behaviour at the moment. However, Yeonjun’s angry expression never dissipated, only slightly softening when Soobin began to boil some water.

“Movie night is commencing!” Hueningkai exclaimed, very excited at everyones sudden change of heart. Taehyun smiled, exiting the room to obtain a few blankets from the large pile of them they had collected over the years. Kai virtually sprinted towards the lounge, fumbling to find the tv remote so he could pick whatever he wanted to watch, everybody else unable to object due to his power of having the remote. Beomgyu placed the snacks on a platter, saving some extras he bought for a later date. He tried to present it prettily, despite knowing his hard work would mean nothing in 15 minutes. Soobin was busy with the stove, making sure the water was hot enough to cook the ramen, occasionally stealing something from Beomgyu’s Brilliant Snack Platter™, his clear intention being to rile the younger up. Yeonjun didn’t contribute to the chaos. No, of course not. Things wouldn't be like this if they had left his ramen alone. He sat impatiently at the table, tapping his nails against the wooden furniture.

“Here, your highness.” Soobin handed the ramen to Yeonjun, adding a little sarcastic bow to compliment the mocking nickname he had given the older. Yeonjun just tutted, not wanting to entertain his teasing. Collecting his ramen, he trudged towards the lounge, seeing a very smiley Hueningkai and a strangely relaxed Taehyun. He situated himself next to Kai, the younger immediately snuggling into him, receiving continuous pats to his head in return. Soobin followed soon after, gathering a few cushions and sitting on the floor in between Yeonjun and Kai.

Beomgyu had finished his platter, and was rather proud of what he had created. He stood for a moment and admired his work of art, before grabbing the leftover trash he had accumulated from putting so much work into his design. Opening the trash can, he went to discard his leftovers, before spotting a crucial piece of evidence to the cause of this argument. The flavor packet of the ramen, only half empty. Taehyun. Beomgyu chuckled to himself, intending to confront Taehyun later.

He finally entered the lounge, earning a sarcastic round of applause due to how long he took. Handing the platter over to Hyuka, he sat down, engulfed in comfort from the new couch they had bought. Before getting fully immersed in the movie and the quality time with his members, he remembered.

“Guys, I’ll be right back!” Beomgyu promised, rushing out of the lounge and into the kitchen, he heard a plethora of groans as he left, only to be met with conversation a few seconds later. He reached inside of the freezer, searching for the thing he wanted for hours. His strawberry ice cream. No… he had searched every inch of this freezer, unable to find his pride and joy. The last option, the trash can. He sighed, extremely frustrated, before searching the trash can for the evidence he needed. There it was. An empty strawberry ice cream container. He couldn't suppress his anger any more. So he didn’t.

“If somebody doesn’t tell me where the fuck my strawberry ice cream went, I swear on every holy being, tomorrow, our group will be on the news for all of our members mysteriously going missing.”
