Work Text:
Luna had to admit something. When her father asked if she wanted to tag along with him to his secret meet up, she was at least hoping to find someone who caught her eye, but no one there did. All businessmen, too busy to pay her any attention. Carlos and Max were they’re to help keep her entertained but it was still pretty boring. Well, that was until everyone had turned to stone a few moments later. When she awoke to find one of the scientists and a soldier that was at the meeting already working she didn’t imagine what came next.
Honestly it still felt like a blur. They made a gothic style castle, Worked a cornfield, Luna acted as a spy and failed at that…, Had to patch someone up who was bleeding, switch sides, and now on her way to South America with the soldier chasing the crew she was with because of the scientists. Yup, this was her life now. And yeahhhh maybe she got a bit caught up in everything and had asked Senkuu to be her boyfriend on his possible death bed before learning he had another romantic entanglement, but that was in the past.

It was late. The moon fully up in the sky and the star’s reflection shining in the dark water below. Luna was having a hard time going to sleep and decided to take a short walk around the ship's deck to try and clear her mind. A small blanket around her to keep her warm. It was quiet out. Not that Luna minded but she didn’t partially like quiet. The ship didn’t have any lights outside either so Luna was just holding a candelabra as she walked. The last thing she thought she’d find on her walk was that one of the rooms was still lit up.
Hmmm? Shouldn’t everyone be asleep? Maybe someone left the light on? Senkuu or Xeno maybe…?
Luna pushed down on the door handle, slowly opening the door. The door squeaked on its hinges as she did.
“Umm hello?” Luna peaked her head inside.
“Ohh master Luna,” A voice greeted her.
It was the crew's butler, Francois, diligently cutting up some vegetables.
“Oh Francois, It’s you,” Luna stepped inside and shut the door behind her. It seemed like Francois was the only one up at the moment so why not talk to them? “What are you doing up?”
“Just cutting up vegetables for tomorrow's breakfast,” Francois explained. “You are more than welcome to come to join me,” Francois pointed thier knife to the extra apron that was hanging up on the wall.
“Ohh sureeee,” Luna slightly hesitant.
She was a capable gal for sure just… she’d never had to make her own food. Her butler and maids normally had that covered… But Luna was determined to help! Luna put on the apron and grabbed one of the knives.
“Thank you, master Luna,” Francois thanked. “Could you put these carrots? I plan on serving them tomorrow for lunch so not too thin please,”
“Already getting ready for lunch?” Luna questioned.
“It’s my duty to make food for the crew so I have to be on top of everything,” Francois explained.
“Ahh I see,” Luna was in awe.
Doing all of this even before morning. Francois really is amazing.
Luna took a carrot and looked at the way Francois was holding their knife. Tip down to the board and bringing the knife up and down as they move the cucumber. It was like Luna was watching one of those professional chefs on TV again. Luna tried to replicate what she saw. Bringing her knife up and down but maybe a bit slower. Francois had made it look so easy but Luna was having a hard time just making a full cut through let alone one that was straight like Francois’s. If her friends were here they’d make a “Well because you aren’t straight joke”.
Come on carrot. Cut already!
“Master Luna,” Francois’s voice caused Luna to snap out of her feud with the vegetable.
“Ahh sorry Francois, I’m not much help huh?” Luna nervously sweats.
“I wouldn't say that. I”d say you’d need some help though,”
Luna hadn’t noticed but by the time Luna had 10 slices of the carrot, Francois was done with their cucumber.
“Woahhh Francois, you’re good,” Luna was once again in awe.
“Thank you, master Luna. Is it ok if I help you?”
“Oh yeah, please,” Luna awkwardly laughed.
Francois went behind Luna and placed their hands on Luna’s. They helped Luna raise the blade of the knife and keeping the tip on the board before lowering it and cutting through the carrot.
“Much easier right?” Francois asked.
“Ye- yeahh~!” Luan sang, trying not to show how embarrassed she was about not being able to cut a carrot correctly.
And because Francois was a bit close.
Francois backed off. “Now you try,” Francois instructed.
Luna tried again, trying to do it as Francois had shown her, and it was much easier.
“Ahh thank you, Francois,” Luna beamed.
“You’re welcome master Lunnahhhhhhh,” Francois yawned.
“Hmm? You okay Francois?” Luna asked.
“Yes, no need to worry,”
Wait, how long were they up?!
“Francois,”
“Yes?”
“Have you been up this whole time?” Luna questioned.
“Well, I have to. I have duties to fulfill,” Francois explained like it was nothing.
“I get that.. But isn't it a bit late?” Luna slightly tilted her head.
“I will retire to my room soon,” Francois tried to reassure Luna. “I just want to finish up with lunch first,”
“Hmmmmm,” Luna gave a disapproving hum. “I think you should go to sleep Francois,”
“I’ll be fine Luna, thank you for your worry,”
Normally Luna would respect the other’s wishes and let them carry on but something was telling her she didn’t want to…
What was the one thing Francois once told me…?
“Hmmm I desire you to go to sleep on time,” Luna tried to proclaim proudly as Ryusui but failed….
Francois blinked at Luna a few times before letting out a small giggle which made Luna’s heart flutter.
“I’m sorry master Luna but the way you proclaimed it so proudly too,” Francois giggled with their backhand to their mouth.
Luna bet her face was bright red at the moment.
“Well when you put it like that, how can I refuse?” Francois lowered their hand.
