It had been an usually calm day in Walter Manor. One Spine decided to take advantage of by reading in the library but as he sat down a portal popped open beneath him and sent him falling through the chair. He landed on the floor of a lush jungle and narrowly avoided getting squashed by a T Rex.
The Spine got up and dusted himself off as he looked around. It was growing dark in this world and Spine knew he needed to find shelter. Suddenly he was being lifted into the air by a giant bird of some sort. Spine struggled against it for a while til finally he was dropped into a tree. With a crash he landed on some branches snapping them. When he hit the jungle floor he checked himself over then in the fallen branches he saw a nest that had fallen too. All but one of the eggs were destroyed.
"Oh no...." Spine whispered oil starting to trickle down his face. Suddenly a pterodactyl about as long as his forearm (if it were stood up straight) swooped near. Upon seeing her nest destroyed she swiftly flew off. "Wait! One's still alive!" Spine cried out but obviously the mother didn't understand.
Spine looked at the still intact egg and decided to keep it warm against his boiler until he could find it a proper family. He first built a makeshift shelter for himself then gently hugged the egg against him zipping up the jacket he was wearing.
Days passed with Spine managing to find water as he carefully traveled with his precious cargo searching for it a home and a portal for himself to get home through.
One day Spine heard a cracking. His core filled with panic as he looked down at the egg. A little beak and head suddenly broke through then the rest of the baby pterodactyl broke free from the shell. The Spine blinked. The little guy looked up at him and Spine sighed.
"Guess I'm your mama now." Spine chuckled. The pterodactyl made a noise and cuddled against Spine. It was only a few hours later that a portal opened up and The Spine and his new friend were safely in Walter Manor.
