She doesn't fear it anymore, but Terra's often unsteady coming out of Trance, as the extended perceptions of an Esper recede, and her balance shifts backward just enough to be confusing. Gau stands by, sometimes, when she's transforming. He understands something - his metamorphoses are less literal, but equally real.
There's a lot they could talk about, but mostly, they don't. They don't have the same vocabulary. For the things that matter, she thinks his is better.
"We monsters," he says approvingly, and gives her the gentle punch in the arm he uses for a handshake. "You, me. Monsters good people."
