Work Text:
Anger was a rare emotion on the mother's face, yet one she wielded quite well. From the day she found out both her daughters were wizards, she was hoping she wouldn't have to play that card. Unfortunately, life never really goes according to plan, does it?
She wanted to wield the knife when she found out that a wizard Nazi was almost able to snuff out Ariadne's life when she was 11. She wanted to let loose when there was a giant snake in the school and her daughter was *petrified*, like something out of a Greek myth. She wanted to kill when she found out that a (falsely accused) deranged murderer was out to get her daughter and *then he got into the dorms*.
Somehow, she didn't. She restrained herself from doing what she *wanted* to do. Albiet, Valerie Granger was not one to be pushed around, either. She did make her thoughts known, and known well. But everyone has a breaking point. And frankly, it surprised her that it took her *this* long to reach it.
Maybe it was the fact that everything over the years had piled up. Maybe this was the straw that broke the camel's back. Or maybe this was just too big of an issue to not act on. Frankly, Valerie didn't care. All she knew was that she was angry, *furious* at this so-called grand wizard for letting her daughter get dragged into something so dangerous, and instead of not trying to minimize the danger, put Ariadne on full view for the public.
Maybe it should have come as more of a shock when the old man in the fraying robes was reeling back from the pain. But Valerie wasnt one to be affected for long by shock. Especially when she thought about what he could of done to her in retaliation. What he could have done to *Ariadne* or *Hermione*. Yet frankly, she was too damn high on adrenaline to feel anything but *satisfaction* at seeing the man before her get what he deserved.
