What if someone can't differentiate the difference between the two?
Oh, what are they to do.

Nikki isn't exactly sure when or how she fell for Ered but they did, that's undeniable to say the least.
If they were to estimate when, they would say somewhere around her sophomore year of high school, halfway through the year. Since freshman year the kid been apart of the Extreme Sports club run by a senior and two juniors. Nikki joined, as the club entirely intrigued them and they wanted an opportunity to be more involved in school.
A weird thing their school did was not only offer the basic six period schedule but on Thursday and Friday the school would shorten the regular classes and squeeze a seventh period in it, as an opportunity for the students to get more involved with clubs and extra circulars. The Extreme Sports club had its very own 7th period in which she was chosen to be apart of, and despite not having any of her extreme sports club friends in that specific 7th period, she was happy to to be apart of it!
Nikki recall those long and lonely days of just being alone and awkward, as she was one of the few freshmen in that period, and all the upper-classmates intimidated her as they all already have their cliques and whatnot. She remembers those day of silently sitting in her seat playing a teckboard finger skateboard, she would just play around with that for hours until it was dismissal time, but everything changed when one of the Juniors leading the club approached the solo girl with a simple, "Hey dude!" The slender girl known as Ered greeted, taking Nikki mind off the miniature skateboard and focusing on the sudden club leader in front of her.
"Hey..." the words came out of Nikki's mouth, their voice raspy and awkward, after all they didn't do much talking this period.
"How are you?" Ered queried, leaning against the wall near the two kids.
Thus began a beautiful small acquaintanceship between the two, where one would approach the other and successfully push the other out of their comfort zone. Since then whenever the period began Ered would always make sure to greet Nikki, before getting into important club stuff. It's not known to Ered but the girl made something stir inside Nikki, something that's been dormant inside her.
Romantic feelings

Fast forward a year later, Nikki was no longer a freshman but instead a sophomore while the girl she so vigorously admired was a senior, meaning she graduate this year.
This realization hit Nikki like a dump truck and they hated this thought, unknowing why it bothered them so much.
Why were they so upset over Ered’s soon absences?
