Chapter Text
Finally...
Finally, after hours of traveling from their beloved little town of Nibelheim, they had been able to reach their damn destination.
The road had been very long.... long, so long that they had needed several types of transportation, starting from chocobos to an airplane.
Sephiroth was definitely tired.
He was really looking forward to arriving at his new home and lay down on his new bed, which was sure to be very comfortable.
It all seemed like a dream come true, a distant dream he never thought he would reach....
Not even his mother could believe it, in fact she was the one who was more disappointed, unlike all his friends who had celebrated their beautiful marriage.
The truth is that Sephiroth at that moment could not see anything, his eyes were blindfolded as if he was about to see the biggest surprise of his life, the house of his dreams?
The only thing he knew was that at that moment he was sitting in a cab seat next to his now husband Cloud Strife.
Plus the guy who was driving them talked in a strange and even funny accent...he didn't know people in the U.S. spoke that way....
In a moment he felt the car stop and Cloud took his hand to guide him out of the car. He listened as they opened the trunk and took out their suitcases.
"It would be 200 pesos güerito" he heard the weird guy in the cab.
"ouch, there went half of my savings...." he heard his husband say with somewhat regret and then listened to the sound of the coins.... followed by a count, one by one.
Sephiroth was definitely getting impatient, why the fuck did Cloud only have coins and not bills?
Anyway, he took a deep breath and counted to ten in his mind, maybe that could relax him...one at a time.
"Two hundred" he finally heard the last coin and then as the car drove away.
The weather was warm...not just warm, hot, he was already starting to sweat and it wasn't even supposed to be summer yet.
"Are you ready?" he heard Cloud behind him, about to untie the blindfold he had on his eyes. Sephiroth only nodded, as he was nervous, and didn't really know what his new home would be like.
And after a count of one to three the blindfold finally uncovered his eyes....
What the fuck?!
The place was...completely different from what he would have imagined....he didn't want to be rude but the place looked horrendous to him, like a typical stereotypical house, with a vomit orange color, and by the almost golden earth of the place it looked like he was in Mexico from the American movies.
He turned his gaze to Cloud, the blond seemed happy with what they had, but Sephiroth....Sephiroth was more than pissed.
"Would you mind explaining to me....?" he took a deep breath not to get too angry, but in spite of being a calm guy he used to get angry too easily, "where the fuck are we!"
"In Mexico" Cloud said with a very slight smile.
"Cloud, this is not what you promised me!" The silver-haired man folded his arms in absolute annoyance, "This is not Las Vegas or California!"
"I know, I know" Cloud tried to calm him down "I know this isn't Las Vegas...but look, you'll like it anyway, it has a beautiful view and the people here are nice".
"Beautiful view?, Cloud, on the other side there's a wasteland!" Sephiroth pointed behind the house with a clear frown.
"shh look, it's no big deal either" the Blondie hugged him from behind "someday they'll build something there and our view will be divine" as he could he planted a kiss on his cheek.
Sephiroth rolled his eyes.
"I won't let you make decisions alone anymore".
"It was a last minute decision, it was the cheapest I could get" Cloud explained.
"Cloud... it's even smaller than our house on Nibelhiem!" he separated himself from Cloud "I can't believe my mother was right...."
"Your mom doesn't know shit" Cloud took the keys from his pocket and proceeded to open the door "Help me get the stuff in".
"you're quite a case..." he sighed and then grabbed the suitcases "by the way, don't ever talk about my mother like that again".
"Yeah, sure, I love my mother-in-law," Cloud said to calm him down, but in reality what he said wasn't even true, he disliked Jenova, that old woman was a bitch.
Once Sephiroth set foot inside the place he noticed something even worse.
"Cloud..." he called him strangely calmly....that was a bad sign.
"Yes, sweetheart...?" Cloud would never refer to Sephiroth that way normally, in fact he only does it when he knows he's in trouble.
"You bought a house.....but you didn't buy furniture?!"
