Chapter Text
According to recent reports, the activity in Mondstadt had been suspicious and nonbeneficial for the Fatui. That's why the Tsaritsa decided to send Tartaglia, her 11th Harbinger Childe, to investigate the cause of this disturbance. After what happened in Liyue, the Fatui had to keep a low profile. Even though he was still able to spar with the Traveler in his Foul Legacy form once a week, the routine was getting boring. He wanted new challenges and new entertainment, so he happily agreed to switching his position to a new location.
The problem was that in reality this job was far more boring than his previous one. Not only did he not have anyone to spar with, all he did was paperwork and meetings with his subordinates.
That's why when he heard the townspeople at the tavern arguing about a Mondstadt exile Lawrence knight's proof of strength despite being a Lawrence, his blood started to pump.
He had finally found a worthy opponent to spar with, someone to entertain him, someone who might even give him intel after he defeat them.
That following evening, he went to the tavern that his next target was said to be staying at. When he entered the building, he was instantly greeted by noisy loud laughter. All of the customers seemed to have gathered in one corner leaving all of the tables empty around one sole table with a young beautiful woman with icy-blue hair.
He could only see her back from where he stood but he could tell that she was a beauty from afar.
"How long is that Lawrence going to stay?"
One of the drunks mumbled with hostility glaring at the woman that was sitting alone in the corner.
Wait did he say Lawrence?
"Acting all high and mighty even though she's a Lawrence"
Another one replied with the same kind of tone.
"Of course she's acting high and mighty, don't forget that she's a knight of Favonius."
Another middle-aged man clicked his tongue.
"Tsk tsk, I really don't understand why acting Grand Master Jean would allow a Lawrence into the knight of Favonius."
That woman is definitely the treacherous knight he's been hearing about.
He was done listening to gossip now that he had obtained the information he was searching for but as he moved forward he felt an incoming pat on his shoulder.
Out of reflex, he instantly dodged the sudden gesture, believing that it was a sneak attack. The middle-aged man looked at him with surprise, but chuckled slightly.
"Young man, since you're not from here you wouldn't know this, but that young lady over there belong to the treacherous clan Lawrence. For your own good, stay away from her."
Childe wasn't happy about this interruption in approaching his prey, he replied with a dagger glare and a cold dangerous tone.
"For your own good, mind your own business."
Leaving no room for a second threat, the Fatui Harbinger moved forward to where his prey was sitting.
