Chapter Text

“Ughh!” Izuku fussed with his hair in the dorm’s bathroom mirror, trying desperately to fit it under his company-issued visor. He hadn’t planned on walking away from his interview with a uniform and instructions to come back later that same day for his first shift, but it is what it is. Izuku had spent a good 5 minutes trying to tame his curls into a ponytail. When he realized his latest trim had rendered his hair too short to pull back, he said ‘fuck it’ and called it a day with little twin pigtails. He hustled out the door and started the walk down to the diner just at the edge of campus, throwing on a jacket over the uniform t-shirt to protect from the cool fall evening.

The bell above the door rang, causing Katsuki to glance up from where he was flipping burgers. He had been told that management had finally hired someone to be a cashier and runner, god knows they need them for the dinner rush. His eyes scanned the figure standing in the doorway- just a bit shorter than him, with green curls and a smattering of freckles across an impish face- HOLY SHIT. “D-Deku?”

Said teen glanced over his shoulder, shifting awkwardly on his feet. He took a few steps closer to the counter and Katsuki’s jaw tightened. Today was the day- the day he finally got what he deserved. Izuku could and should beat his ass now. His eyes were fixed on Izuku’s biceps, his brain kept helpfully supplying “Well, that’s new” as he looked at his soon to be murderer. Izuku neared the counter and stuck out his hand. “Izuku Midoriya, I’d appreciate it if you don’t call me by that name here, Kacchan.” Katsuki hesitantly shook his hand. “U-understood, Midoriya. Let me take you to the back and you can meet everyone.” Just because Izuku had decided to spare him for now didn’t mean he was eager to spend one on one time with the guy.
