Chapter 1: Crashed Airplane

Chapter Text

Time was finally nearing the end of November and here she was, still busying herself over some stack of papers that laid on her personal table.

Written in neat, silver color that shone on a clear glass shaped in triangular prism was her full name along with her position that stated 'Vice President'. She was lucky that because of her position, she could choose the design of her name plaque that now stood elegantly on her expensive wooden desk. It clearly took a lot of effort, time, and hard work to reach where she was right now, given the sleepless nights that she had to endure and lots of caffeine cups that accompanied her until dawn.

She was still young, 27 years old, and soon became 28 in seven months from now on.

She suspired heavily while rubbing the space between her eyebrows to ease the stress that finally got into her body as of now. She looked at her smartwatch that visibly shown the time now pointed at 5 o'clock. Most of the employees were going home right now after ten hours of being stuck at this tall building.

She looked at the big window beside her that was showing the beautiful view of her city—a place where she grew up since she was still an infant—along with sunset as the background.

Her phone buzzed on top of her desk, revealing three notifications from her twin sister, Valerie.

notmyidenticaltwin

Holla my beautiful tweenie twat

Where are you, Boss?

She chuckled a little at the second message. Valerie always knows how to ease her stress and make her feel younger again. After getting a promotion for this job and officially entitled as ‘vice president’, her twin always calling her "Boss" from that time onwards and salute her playfully. She continued to read one last message from her twin.

notmyidenticaltwin

Prim! Don't be too busy and spare your lovely twin some love and attention, please?

She smiled widely before replying to her.

You

Hello, my gorgeous tweenie thot!

I'm still working over here for a bit but I'm definitely about to go back home

Less than 30 seconds after her replies to her twin, she got instant replies.

notmyidenticaltwin

Bish what the hell?! I'm not a thot 'kay?

Wait

Are you about to bring your works back home?

No! Not going to happen dear sis if you're about to do that

Mama's cooking a special menu for us as our dear oldie coming home after staying in western for a freaking year

Hurry up before this gorgeous twin devours your portion too!

She snorted after reading the replies from her dear twin.

You

Not a thot? Dating 7 different guys in a month definitely not a thot yeah whatever

Yeah well I'm about to bring back my works... since you're saying I can't, I'm going to spend a little bit more time here

Oldie as in Michelle? I thought that woman about to get married... that's why she isn't going back anytime soon until her wedding over here.

notmyidenticaltwin

Ugh, you annoying twat!

Yeah there's a long story about that but dear Mimi isn't going to reveal everything in detail before you come home

Papa is freaking pissed off over her ex-fiancée and Mama too but she can't do much since she has to calm dad before he does something crazy

Hurry up! Just come home already!

She locked her phone after reading the last reply of her twin and exhaled softly. She knew that back at home her dad was going feral and willing to satisfy his bloodlust for a guy that broke her old sister's heart. This was one of the reasons she didn't give much chance to the relationship knowing most of the men are going to be the ones that break everything. The same goes for her not identical twin, Valerie.

Valerie dated so many guys in just a span of one month. After getting her heart broke by a boy in high school days, she became like this. Going on a date multiple times but never being in a serious one. She's just toying with them and only accepts them if they're that desperate for her love or maybe attractive enough for her liking.

Valerie is an attractive woman though. She has short hair that stopped at her neck, her body is voluptuous, and she also has glowing bronze skin. Overall, she is gorgeous.

She maybe kissed many men here and there but never going as far as having intercourse with them. She was still a virgin for heaven's sake despite acting like a ho. She held that moral inside her that her innocence could only be taken away by her legal husband. Once Primrose asked her twin "why?" and she only answered like this, "I can hug, cuddle, and kiss all of the men in this world but I only want to have an intimate relationship with one. The man who understands me inside out and easy to make my heart flip by his simple act."

Understandable but not really. It was her choice, after all, she knew what is good and what is wrong. Their parents taught them since they were just kids to be respectable women and not some cheap girls that offer their bodies easily.

She eventually found herself at the garage of her house, still inside her yellow Maserati.

When she was about to go out of her car, her phone rang inside her top handle bag. She quickly fetched her phone and answered it immediately after reading her boss's secretary's name on it.

"Good evening Mister Lock, may I know why you call me?"

She waited for his reply while going out of her car and locked it before walking inside her house. The moment she stepped inside her home and about to go upstairs, she saw her family were all sat together in the dining room about to eat dinner. Valerie made eye contact with her and was about to call her name before she got shushed by her twin using her fingers. She mouthed to her family that she was having an important conversation with her superior before ascending the stairs to her room.

"Evening Miss Everdeen, sorry if I disturb your time right now but Mister Collins told me to inform you that you're about to leave for Japan tomorrow in the evening. Mister Collins assigned you to attend an important meeting with our company branch over there since he has to go to his mother's funeral."

She gasped a little hearing the news of her boss before replying to his assistant.

"Oh, I'm truly sorry for Mister Collins's loss. I'm sending him my deepest condolence to his mother. Is that why you inform me all of the sudden using phone call, Mister Lock?"

"Yes, Miss Everdeen. I'm honestly sorry for this sudden phone call but I'm going to send you the detailed emails regarding the meeting that will take place in Japan and I will tell Mister Collins about your message, thank you so much."

"Okay. Evening Mister Lock."

"Evening too, Miss Everdeen."

And the phone call was ended. She let out some breath from her mouth after hearing the news that she is going to Japan tomorrow. That was so unlooked-for and to be honest, she hated it. Honestly speaking, she wasn't the type of person who loves traveling using airplanes. If not for her boss's loss, she would definitely deny the offer because she herself still had so many works on her plate. She had to inform Suzanne now, that woman will take charge of her place until after her stay ends in Japan.

She threw her small figure in an instant right on her mattress after giving short notice to Suzanne, the director of the company where she worked at. She screamed into her pillow, allowing her stress to be released from her body and mind.

All she needed was one, vacation.

Right. She needed one, really needed one but she couldn't right now maybe after Christmas she could take some days off for a mini holiday. Feeling the soft material beneath her make her sleepy slowly. 'Taking one nap won't hurt,' she thought not caring about the grumbling sound from her stomach that practically begging her for some nutrients.

Not even for a minute she closed her eyes, her door was opened in a jarring manner accompanied by a loud noise as someone entered her room recklessly.

"HEY TWEENIE TWAT! PRIMROSE WAKE UPPPP!"

The woman who laid snuggly on her bed, Primrose, groaned from her twin's loud noise and shoved her head more into her fluffy pillow to block the unnecessary noises. "Mother fucker!" She hissed.

Then Primrose felt another weight that jumped on top of her body.

"OW!"

"Primrose baby~ wake up! Mama already made your dinner you ungrateful bitch!" Valerie said to her tired twin.

"Valerie you freaking thot! It hurts damn it! I know that you have a bigger body than me but you don't have to crush me!"

Unlike Valerie, Primrose actually has a slim body and a smaller form than her.

"Are you telling me that I'm fat?!"

"Am not!"

"Yes! You call me fat you workaholic twat!" Valerie made her voice higher unconsciously.

They are those twins that hardly fight with each other as they rely on each other a lot. They know each other personalities like the back of their hands but sometimes it is just too much and very annoying. Valerie's retort and loud voice in her ears did no good to her as it aggravated her badly. Usually, she'll just brush it off or deal with it by taking a deep breath however right now she couldn't do it. Maybe because of her tiredness that finally grew on her body also her stack of works on her plate made her snapped at her own twin. "So what? My hard work paid off! Instead of you hoeing around like a jobless person when you irrefutably are not!"

Those words that came out from Primrose, made Valerie stared at her incredulously. She swore to herself that never in more than twenty years living with her twin, Primrose insulted her. Primrose always has been that sweet and tsundere type twin. She jumped off of her twin's body and stood beside her bed with her hands on her hips, face deeply scowled.

"What the fuck are you saying about Primrose?! I'm not a fucking ho just because I dated with many guys and kiss them on the lips! And I'm working just fine for your information. Maybe I don't have a higher position like you but I'm still doing fine with it and not becoming a workaholic freak like you that's too cranky and annoying! This is why not many guys like you! You're annoying, cranky, and too judging! You deserve to be alone!"

Hearing Valerie's last words made her heart hurt a lot. That was harsh and so unnecessary. Although she knew what she said to her not identical twin wasn't any better.

She glared at her twin with so much anger before speaking with a rising voice. "You know what, maybe you're right and I can't even stand living in one roof with you! After I come back from Japan, I'll make sure to move out so I don't have to see you ever again! Now get the fuck out of my room and never talk to me again!"

Without sparing a glance at Valerie, Primrose got her feet moved to her bathroom and shut it harshly from inside. Valerie could only scoff and roll her eyes as the response to her other half before getting out of her twin's room.

"So, what do you want oldie?" Primrose asked her older sister who came to her room out of the blue when she was about to sleep. She laid her body on her side while propping her head with her left palm. Her eyes were droopy and ready to close at any second. Her body felt exhausted because of stress from her work and also her fight with her twin.

"Respect me you little brat!"

Primrose only laughed tiredly at that and kept looking at her sister. "Okay, Ms. Michelle Everdeen. I want to ask on what special occasion that you bring your gracious presence to my humble room?"

Michelle rolled her eyes at her younger sister before responding. "You know, spill my tea to you and your other half." At hearing her sister's last three words, Primrose scrunched her nose in disgust and glaring at the wall beside her. "If you want to talk to me, then talk to me only and if you want to talk to that thot, then only talk to that thot."

Michelle frowned at hearing Primrose's response. She knew that her twin sisters weren't usually fighting seriously like this. They always playfully fight not making it into a serious fight.

"Now, I can obviously smell a fight between you two? Is there anything wrong huh?" Michelle decided that she would keep her story for a while to know what was happening between her younger sisters. She couldn't believe that even if both of them were about to enter their early 30s, they still fight like children. Both of them were undeniably stubborn.

Primrose didn't have any energy left to answer with her voice so she nodded her head.

"If we were just going to waste some time here talking useless things, then I suggest you get out from my room, Michelle. I'm so fucking tired and tomorrow morning I have to catch a flight to Japan."

Yes, Mr. Lock informed her again after she came out of her bathroom that there was a sudden change in flight schedule tomorrow and now she had to come to the airport in the morning. She really wanted to curse at that 40 years old man but refrained herself from doing so, knowing that it wasn't his fault. After the unexpected information, she moved her body briskly to pack everything inside her navy luggage for her stay in Japan. Thank God though she just had to stay for four days so there weren't many things that she put in her luggage and also additional bags.

"Wait a damn minute! You have a flight tomorrow?! Why don't you inform us?! Mama's definitely going to beat your ass in the morning before you go to the airport, tch."

"Yes, I know because it's so sudden too for me. I just got notified today by my boss's secretary." Primrose huffed a little before closing both of her eyes. She suppressed the yawn that was about to escape from her mouth.

"Well... okay little sis have a sweet dream and don't forget to pray before you sleep. I'm just going to keep my story for you but what I can give as a summary of my sad story, he is a total jerk." Michelle got up from her seat before patting her sister's head earning a hum from her. "All men oldie all men."

"Tch, not all of them. There are good ones too but it's too hard to find them. They're like diamonds hidden in thick mud. I'm sure you and I are gonna find one."

"Stop with the bullshit and let me sleep!"

Michelle was finally out of her room and she couldn't wait to finally dive into her dreamland. Yet, in the middle of the night, she woke up with beads of cold sweat on her forehead and a harsh beating sound from her chest. She had a nightmare about today's flight and somehow she felt something unsettling inside of her.

Since she couldn't sleep again because of the nightmare, she chose to take a bath and prepared more for herself before going to the airport.

"Morning, Miss Everdeen. Are you ready to go to the airport?" Mr. Lock said from the other side, calling her in the morning to check up on her and make sure that the vice president of the company didn't lose the flight.

Primrose let her phone pressed between her left ear and shoulder while her hands were busy getting her navy luggage to move along with two additional medium bags. Her parents obviously shocked in the morning after hearing her sudden news to fly to Japan for work. Primrose was glad that her parents didn't comment much about it especially mad at her since it was directly from her boss's order. Her mom though as expected from Michelle's words last night, beat her ass thrice for not telling her last night and slightly worrying for her still she wished her safety too on the flight.

"Yes Mister Lock, I'm about to get into the taxi right now." She winced a little because her bottom was stinging due to her mom's doing.

After getting all of her items inside the car's trunk she said her final goodbye to her family. First to her father who only patted her shoulder as reassurance, and then her mother who kissed both of her cheeks, last but not least was oldie Michelle who hugged her and whispered sweet things to her.

Her not identical twin was nowhere to be found as expected since they weren't on good terms. Despite wanting to send her sister off, Valerie kept her stubborn side with her by staying inside her room even though there was this unsettling feeling inside her that she felt since last night. She exactly knew what it was, twins' bond. If one feels danger coming for the other or herself, both of them could feel it. Valerie dreamt of her sister's airplane got crashed in the middle of the ocean. It was truly a nightmare.

Her heart pumping so fast and her mind told herself to move to her twin sister, telling her not to go. However, she couldn't do that because of the small ego that still clung inside her and also this was for her sister's work. She couldn't meddle in her business for that or she would get her fired.

She kept staring at her sister from the window, her heart still beating fast inside her and her eyes reflected in disquietude. "Please be safe, please be safe." She enchanted these words multiple times as if saying some mantra, wishing her sister safety on her flight.

"Well, I hope you have a safe flight Miss Everdeen. Don't forget about the material of the meeting that I had sent to you last night."

"Thank you Mister Lock and I'll make sure to check on that during the flight."

She put her phone inside her small bag before opening the taxi's door. When she was about to go inside, she looked at her family once again before her eyes moving to the window located on the second floor of her house, unmistakably showing a figure who was staring at her.

Primrose stared back at the figure silently with her dark brown eyes reflecting sadness. She looked down at the ground for a second and let out a huff of air. She finally got inside the passenger's seat and the taxi moved almost instantly to her destination. Valerie though hoped that her sister would land safely in Japan without any injury. "I'm so sorry. Please be safe, I want to see you again." She hoped her nightmare wouldn't turn into reality or she would lose her sanity if she lost her twin forever. They still had to make up especially amend their bond.

On the other side, Primrose finally arrived at the airport and now waiting in the boarding room for her flight. There were still twenty minutes left before the flight to the land of the rising sun and so she opted to read the email from Mr. Lock. Studying the material of the meeting also noting everything that she had to write down for the report to Mr. Collins.

Without her knowing, the announcement of her flight suddenly blaring loudly from the speaker located on the corner of the room. This would be a long-ass journey, fourteen hours approximately. She would surely use those hours for rest instead of minding her work again. She already got the gist of her task from Mr. Lock's email and more than ready to join the meeting with the company once she arrived in Nippon.

Her shoulder relaxing after finding a comfortable position on her seat and put on her safety belt. She glanced outside of the airplane, seeing some of the airport crews walking on the ground also some other planes from different companies that hadn't taken off from here. She sighed a little before closing both of her eyes, hiding the pair of dark brown eyes beneath the lids.

"Fourteen hours here I go..."

She felt someone shook her shoulder repeatedly before she opened both of her lids. "Miss! Please put this oxygen mask and this life vest!" The moment she opened her eyes, they were landed on a stewardess who looked frantic and slightly distraught. She finally felt something odd in the airplane after her body becoming aware of everything around her. The airplane that she was in shaking furiously up and down and it brought instant panic to her heart. Suddenly, her nightmare resurfaced again in her mind and she felt totally scared.

'Is this how I die?' she thought, her hands were trembling badly, needing to grip something. "W-what happened? H-how is this happened?!" She asked. Her voice was unusually high due to the panic that kept rising inside of her.

"I don't know about it too Miss! It suddenly becomes like this. It isn't because of the weather because we could clearly see how the sky is clear right now and bright with no upcoming storm. It's from the airplane itself." The other passenger that sat beside her replied to her question. Voice shaky and almost crack because he too was feeling incredibly horrified at the airplane that still shaking furiously like it was about to explode at any moment.

"Oh my God! I don't want to die!" said Primrose. Her breathing became heavy and her eyes glistening with tears that were ready to fall any moment.

A while later, there was a sudden announcement from the pilot.

"Dear our passengers, we are very sorry to inform you that we cannot continue this flight to arrive safely in Japan. It isn't possible as you have to know there is an error with one of the machines in this airplane and we can't do anything about it. To ensure the safety of you all, you all have to get out using the door on the right side of the airplane—"

Before the pilot could continue again, one passenger, a man with a white beard and bulky body stood up straight with an angry look plastered on his face. "Are you fucking kidding me huh?! You tell me that I and all of the passengers inside this fucking airplane are going to die?! I don't fucking spend so much money to use this airline just for you stupid crews doing suicide mission! If you aren't competent, don't choose this job you careless mother fuckers! I don't want to die!"

A stewardess came to that man to calm him down and tried making him wear the oxygen mask also life vest but he shoved her to the ground and glowered at her. "You first tell that stupid pilot of yours the other way to save all of us instead of jumping off this airplane like instant suicide!"

Because of that man's doing, the other stewardesses became alarmed by his action and tried to help the poor co-worker by calming down the old man.

"Sir, please calm do—"

At the same time, the other passengers could only stare at the commotion blankly because somehow what the old man said was true and also the other reason because they didn't care at all, their minds filled with negative thoughts running inside their heads because of this accident instead.

Primrose couldn't hear any more of the commotions around her as she focused on the feeling of her intense panic and being frightened. She didn't want to die! Never in a million thoughts that she would expect her life to end like this. This was too cruel. She didn't even get the chance to make up with her twin and listen to Michelle's full story. She didn't get the chance to tell her parents how much she loves them and also buying another house for them since they were dreaming of it. She lost it. She lost that chance.

"—passengers! Sadly, the doors are being locked and unfortunately broken. We are sorry once again because we are about to hit the ocean very soon! Wear your life vest properly and mask oxygen please!"

Primrose closed her eyes, murmuring her apologies for everything. She could do nothing now and just unwillingly accept the cruel fate with open arms. "I'm sorry oh my God, I'm so sorry." The other passengers were having the same condition and feeling like her. They were all ready to accept their fate that this was truly their last moment of breathing on this earth. Their heart cried out for leaving their loved ones and also regretting everything that ever been done by them.

Her cheeks stained by the tears that had been spilled from her eyes the moment the pilot announced their situation. "Mom, Dad, Michelle, Valerie... I'm going to miss you all. I'm sorry for everything. I don't think I can make it."

A group of men was watching the big white airplane crashed into the ocean right in front of them, several kilometers from the shoreline. It was still pretty far from the small island that became the haven of them although they could see it distinctly with their ability.

"Should we go over there?" The blue-haired guy asked the other guys while standing on his feet, ready to go to the ocean.

The pink-haired guy nodded at him, now standing too on his feet.

"Maybe we could find a new collection for our treasures."

The leader of the group, at last, gave his final response to them. "Let's swim over there then and be quick at searching for anything that is valuable to us. Be careful with those humans." With that being said, the group of men swam in instant over the crashed plane. It took only less than five minutes for them to reach the crashed airplane using their true forms.

One by one separated from each other to search for something valuable in the crashed airplane that split into a half starting from lots of luggage and baggage that floated on the surface of the ocean also to the passengers' body. They could see that lots of bodies were scattered in the ocean either they were still inside the seats of the airplane or sinking. 'No humans make it,' they thought. They were a bit sad though since some of those lifeless humans caught their eyes but they also felt relieved or else those humans would be freaking out after seeing them and they had to obviously do something about it.

After searching for an hour and got everything that caught their attention, they eventually checked for one last time around the airplane also the passenger's belongings before going back to their haven.

They didn't bring much when they arrived again on the small island. Opening every interesting luggage that they brought to search for anything that shines. "I only got some gold necklaces, rings, and earrings. Not much." The mint-haired guy said to the group, hair and body still drenched from the water.

"Same. I only got these pearls, only some of them that are real. Most of them are fake and I don't even understand why humans love to use the fake one..." The black-haired one replied.

The red-haired guy then asked the group mostly referring the question to their leader. "Should we search again, huh?" Their leader sighed a little before shaking his head. "No, not worth it. I think we could use all of these as our collections though. Let's just rest and eat. Those filthy mermaids are going to swim near our territory and they are certainly going to pass the crashed airplane. I don't want us to meet those low creatures."

The blond-haired one finally gave his response to the group. "I agree. I hate those disgusting creatures and don't want to encounter any of them. Let's go back to our camp, I'm going to make all of us some food." The rest of the group nodded at him before disappearing into the jungle behind them while bringing their new treasures, leaving some luggage on the grainy sand.

Unknowingly to them, one of the passengers from that crashed airplane still alive although the person wasn't in the best condition due to the impact of the accident.

She kept her body afloat using one of the rip part bodies of the airplane to help her figure up on the surface. Her life vest still clung to her around her neck but in a deflated condition. She didn't know how she ended up like this but all she knew was the moment the airplane hit the ocean, her body flung away from it and now she just using her weak hands to support herself on the rip part body of the airplane.

Her breathing was ragged and her eyes still shut tightly. She could only hope that she will be fine later on and now just chose to rest for a bit despite being surrounded by the boundless ocean. She still felt grateful though for given the second chance to live.

After minutes of steadying her breath and gained a little bit of strength, she opened her eyes to see the vast ocean surrounding her small figure. Her eyes then landed on the small island not too far from her spot. She could swim to that island but knowing her condition still in a worse state, she had to wait for a few moments to gain more strength. She felt a flicker of hope after seeing that small island, knowing she could survive longer in this situation maybe with some foods that she would find in the jungle behind it.

She shut her eyes again and leaned her head on the small area beneath her to rest for more.

She hoped that the SAR team will search for the crashed plane that used to fly to Japan and maybe rescue her too along with the other deceased bodies. She wanted to meet her family again. "Everything will be fine... yeah everything will be fine." She kept enchanting those words in her mind. After all, people said to never lose hope right?

Right.

The thing is she didn't know what was waiting for her life once she arrived at that small island.
