"hey, sweetheart..it's okay. i won't hurt you." jimin whispered, offering a light smile. "will you come out from there?"
the hybrid under the car stared at jimin, brown eyes big and intense as he tried to figure out the man's intentions.
jimin very slowly and gently reached his hand under the car towards the hybrid's poor dirty face, letting him sniff it.
he didn't seem to mind jimin's smell, indicated by the way he licked his hand and a little rumble left his chest. jimin smiled wider. "you're so cute. will you come from under there? c'mere boy, c'mere!" he cooed, using his excited voice that the more primitive hybrids like the one in front of him took very well to.
and it worked, because after a moment of hesitation the hybrid started making his way from under the car until he was free. he nuzzled his head into jimin's hand and his tail wagged a bit, but not much.
"ah, good boy. you're a bit of a messy boy, too. wanna come home with me and take a bath? yeah?" jimin asked, gently petting behind his puppy ears.
he got no verbal response but he didn't need one; the hybrid would follow.
it was a cold and rainy day and jimin wasted no time in walking home with the hybrid who though he wore clothes and jacket, definitely needed new ones. he was dirty all over, who knows what kind of places he'd been roaming for shelter and food? finding him under a car certainly wasn't a good sign.
jimin was a full human, but he had lots of knowledge about the hybrids in their world. they were rare, and probably few humans were as passionate about them as jimin was. he sometimes found strays and took them to special hybrid centers for saving and rehoming, but this time was an intentional save.
a member of his neighborhood watch gave him a call and directly asked him to do something about this hybrid that was roaming in their neighborhood, and how could jimin say no?
and why should he take him all the way to a center when his warm house was so close? he could give him a bath, some nice warm clothes, a delicious meal, and a cozy place to sleep. plus the hybrid was positively adorable, maybe he didn't wanna give him up just yet.
when they got back to jimin's, he opened his door and led the puppy in from the rain, sighing relievedly once they were safe from it. "come on, let's get you all cleaned up." he smiled.
the hybrid sniffed in the air curiously as he followed jimin to his bathroom, looking around and getting distracted on the way there. but eventually jimin had him out of his wet and dirty clothes and into a nice bath full of bubbles.
"we should give you a name, yeah?" jimin smiled, gently washing the hybrid's body. "do you have a name, sweetheart?"
when no reply was given, jimin figured he might not know much korean, because that was often the case with hybrids. they didn't always pick up on language well.
"i'll name you myself, hm? you're a big boy, but you already seem so sweet and gentle and i think you're really cute. let's give you a cute name." he cooed, now washing the puppy's gross, matted hair.
the hybrid loved the feeling of jimin's gentle fingers in his hair, leaning into the touch and making a soft rumbling sound in his chest. "you're so sweet. let's give you a sweet sounding name..like..koo. short, simple, and sweet like you."
koo didn't mind his new name at all, he just let jimin get him all nice and clean.
soon he was in some comfy clothes that fit him thanks to jimin's best friend namjoon always leaving his lying around. the puppy nearly fell asleep as jimin brushed and blow dried his tail, puppy ears, and hair before putting it into two neat space buns. "there we go. i know you're hungry, sweet boy. let's get some food in you and then you can sleep." he scratched under koo's chin gently and the puppy smiled, tail wagging a little bit at the gesture.
and while jimin made him a meal in the kitchen, koo sniffed all around the house and determined that it was very safe and comfy. it was nothing like any place he'd been before; it was so secure.
"koo! time to eat, pup!" jimin called, and koo followed his voice and scent back to the kitchen where a big plate of something delicious and meaty was waiting for him. he sat at jimin's breakfast table to eat it, completely ignoring the utensils in front of him and opting for his hands instead.
jimin probably should've known he would be such a messy eater, being part puppy and all, but somehow he still wasn't prepared for the mess koo made. it was adorable. he ate all of his food and then licked the plate clean, smiling at jimin and wagging his tail much more excitedly than he had before. he already felt so much better! he hadn't eaten such nourishing food in a very long time.
"silly, messy puppy." jimin smiled, wiping his face and hands clean with a paper towel. koo giggled adorably, nuzzling his head into jimin's body.
"now that your tummy's all full, let's get cozy in bed, okay? it's time to sleep!" he cheered.
koo followed jimin to his room and crawled in circles on the bed until he found a spot he liked. then he lay down, his eyes getting droopier.
jimin changed into some sleep wear and joined his new puppy companion, getting cozy under the covers. he tried to offer some to koo but the puppy didn't care about getting under. he was already asleep, fingers in his mouth and snoring lightly.
jimin noticed, but ultimately smiled and pet his hair lightly before closing his eyes to rest as well.
over the first few days with koo jimin realized this oral fixation of his might've been an actual problem. he touched too many surfaces throughout the day for it to be safe, jimin didn't want him to get sick.
so he did things like buy koo chew toys, but it proved to be useless. koo liked to play with them but when he was done his fingers ended up right back in his mouth.
jimin was looking for alternatives, and he finally found one when he was looking online.
pacifiers.
of course! jimin ordered some big enough for koo to comfortably use and express shipped them. he was so excited the moment they arrived!
"koo! c'mere boy!" he called, and within a few seconds he heard the sound of koo running to the front door where he was.
"hi, baby." jimin smiled and scratched under his chin, and koo giggled. "i got you something! it'll help you with this." he said, gently removing koo's fingers from his mouth as he so often did. he led him to the kitchen so he could open the package and quickly clean the pacifiers.
once he was done, he chose a cute blue one with little clouds on it and let koo sniff it, before popping it into the puppy's mouth and clipping the other end to his shirt.
it was almost natural the way koo began sucking on it, flapping his sleeves and wagging his tail. he was happy, jimin could tell.
he then got to work washing out some baby bottles he bought online as well, because koo had no concept of how to drink anything without making a complete mess.
it was endearing, really. and the silly puppy hardly ever noticed his messes. in fact he was oblivious to a lot of things, the only time he ever made a fuss about something was when he wanted jimin to pet him. he was definitely more puppy than human, but jimin didn't mind a bit. not even when he noticed koo starting to act somehow even more childlike.
it started a couple of weeks into using the pacifier and baby bottles, the hybrid would get pouty and upset if he had to go without either one. if the tv was on, he was watching baby cartoons. he also started doing things like making grabby hands or insisting to be allowed in jimin's lap. and even though koo was already nonverbal and only made little sounds in his chest and throat, he seemed to have added little gurgles into the mix.
jimin had absolutely no clue what was going on, but he kind of loved it. koo was just his big baby puppy to take care of! it made him feel very happy.
"oh, good morning my little angel!" he cooed, smiling widely at koo who had just woken up.
koo stretched and smiled up at him, chest rumbling happily and tail thumping on the bed when jimin began petting him. "go to the bathroom, baby." he encouraged. luckily he taught koo how to do a morning routine of using the toilet, washing his face, and brushing his teeth. but at the given command the puppy whined and made grabby hands. he wanted jimin to help.
jimin giggled. "come on, big baby. mimi will help."
after helping koo in the bathroom the puppy wagged his tail excitedly for breakfast and crawled downstairs after jimin. he hadn't been walking much anymore, instead choosing to crawl. his preferred method would've been to be carried but unfortunately he was too big for that.
he sat at jimin's feet and waited patiently while his human made breakfast, little gurgles leaving his mouth as he rubbed his head against jimin's leg.
jimin fed him the breakfast and kept koo entertained by making him giggle and doing silly things until the puppy ate all of his food, then jimin took him to play in the living room.
koo enjoyed even the simplest forms of play, anything could make his tail wag in delight as long as jimin was involved. he already loved him so much.
koo had his paci in his mouth and rolled around with one of his toys, giggling whenever jimin decided to rub his tummy or tickle him.
"such a good boy, cute and precious and full of so much love." jimin cooed, scratching behind koo's puppy ears which made the hybrid especially happy. he closed his eyes and let his tail thump on the floor. he felt so safe, and happy.
as morning turned into afternoon koo would start getting fussy and sleepy, and he'd get a warm bottle of milk before a nap. it was one of his favorites parts of the day because his mimi would sing to him and pull him in his lap to gently rock him while the puppy drank from his bottle.
they'd enjoy quiet evenings together after koo's nap. the puppy had lunch and dinner with jimin and then they'd snuggle and watch tv, koo getting lots of pets and kisses as he sucked his pacifier and his chest rumbled in delight.
koo would get a bath before bed and jimin would play in his hair after washing it and blow drying it. he loved doing things like giving him little fish tail braids, space buns, ponytails, or just brushing it and letting it be it's naturally messy self. and koo loved when jimin played with his hair, it made him feel calm and happy.
they'd play a bit more before bed, and koo would curl up as small as he could next to jimin when it was time to go to sleep, wearing the comfiest pajamas as he dozed off to dreamland.
their days were always calm and comfy like that, both of them so incredibly content and happy with each other.
but one day everything changed.
jimin had taken koo to the hybrid puppy park and the baby was crawling all over and having lots of fun! jimin trailed behind and let him get some energy out, but suddenly he heard a lot of yelling.
he quickly turned to the source and found someone yelling at a poor hybrid, his ears flattened in fear against his head as he trembled. then the human just left him there!
the hybrid began sobbing pretty loudly, at a loss of what to do now that he'd been abandoned. he was so scared!
jimin quickly whistled for koo and hurried in the direction of the sobbing pup. his own puppy eagerly crawled after him, head tilting in confusion.
jimin made it to the hybrid and knelt in front of him, koo sat at his side obediently and curiously.
"oh god, sweetheart are you okay?" jimin knelt in front of him. "shh..shh, it's okay. you're safe. me and koo won't hurt you." he said gently.
the hybrid didn't seem to be listening, crying so much as he pulled his hair and kicked. jimin didn't think that was good, attempting to grab his hands and hold them only to be met with more screaming and a violent reaction of the hybrid trying to slap him away. jimin realized he'd need to do this without touch, but how? that was the biggest way he showed affection to koo.
the only thing he could think to do was sing to the hybrid, closing his eyes as he let the sweet notes leave his lips and reach the puppy's ears. within moments the crying quieted and the hybrid was adorably wiping his tears.
"there you go, everything's okay." jimin smiled gently.
koo was getting antsy, shifting where he sat because he wanted to smell the other hybrid but he didn't know if jimin would let him. he whimpered and his human turned to him with a smile. "patience, baby. you can say hi when he knows it's safe."
koo understood the word 'patience', huffing slightly as he sat still and waited.
jimin held his hand out to let the hybrid smell him, and after getting a couple of sniffs jimin grabbed koo's hand for the same purpose.
the hybrid felt more comfortable after smelling them, and jimin noticed. "i saw what happened to you, sweetheart. i could never leave a hybrid alone, would you like to come home with me and koo?"
after a moment of silence between the three the hybrid nodded slightly, avoiding eye contact. jimin smiled and noted that this hybrid wasn't like koo. he could understand more and give proper responses. "great, pup. come on." he stood and reached for koo's hand.
koo stood and accepted his human's hand, being wobbly on his feet. he followed jimin to the car and the other hybrid followed alongside them.
"do you have a name, cutie?" jimin asked as he helped the two into the backseat of the car.
"taetae." he whispered, sniffling as jimin buckled him up.
"that's an adorable name." jimin smiled. "you can call me mimi, and that's koo." he gestured to his baby puppy who was already buckled in and waiting to go home patiently.
"mimi. koo." taetae repeated quietly.
jimin smiled and nodded, closing the car door before getting into the driver's seat.
during the ride home taetae looked around the car curiously until his eyes settled on koo. he saw the pacifier in his mouth and the baby blue collar around his neck with his name dangling on a silver, heart-shaped tag.
taetae's own collar had been ripped away. it was really upsetting for him, and the longer he stared at koo the more he wanted his own collar back.
he disregarded the pacifier, not really knowing what it was or why koo had it. he noted the puppy's big, comfy looking clothes and his neatly done hair. taetae came to the conclusion that jimin loved koo a lot.
when they got home jimin asked taetae if he could check him over for an idea of his health, and taetae reluctantly nodded. he didn't want to be touched, didn't like touch at all from strangers, but he understood why jimin needed to do it. koo watched from the side with his head tilted.
after getting taetae out of his shirt and jeans, jimin checked him over and frowned. whoever used to own taetae hadn't treated him well. he wasn't well fed, and he had some marks indicatory of being hurt by them. "did your owners hurt you, taetae?" he asked gently.
taetae looked fearful of answering and jimin gave him a small smile. "you're okay, sweetheart. you won't get in trouble for being honest."
at this the hybrid nodded slightly, looking down shamefully. "bad taetae."
"you seem very good to me, i think they were just mean." jimin shook his head. "let's get you cleaned up. i'll let you shower yourself so i won't have to touch you anymore, and i'll lay some clothes out for you. okay?"
taetae nodded and calmed down at the news that he wouldn't be touched anymore. then he followed jimin up to the bathroom.
koo didn't know how to feel, hurrying to crawl up the stairs after jimin. once taetae was taking a shower and jimin closed the bathroom door, koo whimpered up at him.
"aw, baby it's okay. you won't mind having another pup around right?" jimin crouched down to pet him and koo whined.
"you're still my sweet little baby puppy, i promise." jimin smiled and gave his face a ton of kisses. "mimi loves you."
koo wagged his tail happily and giggled, until he yawned and his paci fell out of his mouth and he started fussing.
jimin cooed at him and scratched under his chin. "is my baby sleepy? such a fussy puppy must need a nap! come on boy!" he headed to their room and koo whined as he sleepily followed. once he was comfy on the bed and a blanket was thrown over him, he fell asleep.
moments later taetae stepped out of the bathroom in the clothes jimin had laid out for him, rubbing his face against one of his sleeves with a quiet purr. "soft. soft." he whispered to himself as he wandered into jimin and koo's room.
"ah, there you are. don't you feel better now that you're all clean?"
taetae didn't reply, continuing to rub his face until his stomach growled.
"come on, let's get you something to eat." jimin smiled.
taetae reluctantly followed, getting nervous at the thought. he wasn't very fond of eating due to reasons he didn't even fully understand.
one reason his owners hated him was because he was a picky eater. he only ate things he deemed to be 'safe', ones he knew he liked. he refused anything else either due to taste, smell, or feeling. if he ate something wrong he'd freak out, but he didn't mean to! he didn't know why he did.
but much to his surprise, jimin was very different from his owners. he simply asked taetae what foods he liked to eat, made a little joke about how koo would eat absolutely anything, and he laughed. it was such a sweet sound, pleasing to taetae's ears. it made his tail sway calmly.
jimin gave taetae a piece of paper and a pen, and the hybrid wrote down all of the foods he would be willing to eat and wrote at the top 'safe foods'. he timidly handed it back to jimin and started rubbing his sleeve on his face again. "safe. safe."
"safe, hm?" jimin nodded and smiled as he looked over the list. "i'll remember these, sweetheart. i promise. i'll get you something on this list right now. you can watch some tv while you wait! or, i have a bit of a book collection if you're into that. check the shelf in the living room."
taetae wordlessly headed there, making a beeline for the bookshelf when right next to it was another smaller, cuter shelf with coloring books and supplies, pull out cubes full of puppy and baby toys, blankets, stuffed animals, and pacis. taetae sat and crossed his legs, beginning to rock himself as he curiously pulled out one of the coloring books.
of the pages that had been colored, they were all completely messy and not realistic. it made him sick just to look at, and he pulled at his hair frustratedly until he reached a clean page. then he grabbed some coloring pencils, unused. judging by the other pages koo really liked markers. taetae couldn't stand the thought, one wrong move and it was all over your fingers.
he hadn't colored in a long time, but as he grabbed his first choice of coloring pencil and put it to the page he felt himself relaxing in a way he usually couldn't. he continued steadily rocking as he colored, sometimes making a certain little sound with his throat that he couldn't seem to help.
at least half an hour passed until jimin came to check on him. "oh, you like coloring, taetae?" he asked gently, taking a seat next to him.
taetae tensed, suddenly feeling uneasy with jimin so close to him. "space. space." he whispered.
jimin understood and scooted away. "better?" taetae nodded and relaxed some. "good, baby. i think your picture is beautiful. it's so neat and well done!" he praised.
taetae's tail wagged a bit at that, and his puppy ears wiggled a bit. he'd never gotten such praise before, it made him happy!
"why don't you take a break and come eat, okay?"
taetae nodded, neatly putting the coloring pencils he had used back in their place before closing the coloring book and following jimin.
it wasn't much longer before koo woke up, scrunching his face up adorably as he wiped his eyes and stretched. the baby puppy yawned and put his paci in his mouth before going to find his mimi.
he crawled his way out into the hall and then slid down the stairs on his tummy, tail wagging excitedly as he entered the kitchen and found mimi and taetae. koo was still wary of taetae, growling at him instinctively.
taetae's puppy ears flattened against his head and he whimpered in response. he wasn't confrontational, wouldn't growl back even if he wanted to.
jimin frowned. "koo, angel be nice to taetae." he sat on the floor next to him and pulled him into his lap. "no growling." he gently lifted the puppy's shirt and rubbed his tummy. "taetae is our new special friend, okay?"
koo whined and nuzzled his face into jimin's neck. he didn't want a friend, he was happy by himself with jimin!
"oh, taetae i just realized koo never got to smell you. would you let him please?"
taetae reluctantly nodded, standing from his seat to come over to them. he held out his hand and jimin directed koo towards it. the puppy began sniffing up taetae's arm, eventually leaving jimin's lap to sniff as much of him as he could which taetae didn't enjoy. taetae didn't smell threatening, but it didn't make koo any less weary.
"it's okay taetae, koo just needs some time to get used to having you around is all." jimin reassured.
it was true, koo would need time to adjust to the other pup. during the first few days he stayed away from him, clinging only to jimin and getting over his territorial bouts. taetae didn't mind koo keeping his space. he needed space or he got overwhelmed.
jimin seemed to be very mindful of taetae, and it made him feel comfortable. he ate foods pleasing to his senses, did comforting activities, and best of all he got to make noise and move all he wanted, or needed to.
he wasn't constantly being overwhelmed like he had been in his many previous homes. he'd yet to have a bad day, it was the longest he'd ever gone without doing so.
that is, until he and koo were coloring next to each other and in an effort to be nice koo drew a tiny scribble in the corner of taetae's page.
taetae started crying with a scream, throwing his coloring pencil down to tightly pull his hair as he kicked his feet. koo flinched, his puppy ears flattening fearfully.
jimin immediately sprung into action, approaching taetae but keeping his distance. "oh, sweetheart don't cry." he frowned. "look! you can start a fresh new one, yeah?" he flipped to a clean page in the coloring book but taetae shook his head.
"that one! that one!" taetae cried, curling up into a ball on the floor. he didn't want a new picture, he liked that one just fine.
"ah..i'm sorry, baby. koo meant well." jimin tried.
poor taetae cried until he couldn't anymore, eventually merely hiccuping and sucking his thumb to quiet himself.
jimin gently offered taetae a paci instead, smiling when the puppy accepted it into his mouth. his eyes went droopy and he felt so relaxed he could sleep.
koo timidly crawled back over to taetae, whimpering slightly as a way to express his being sorry. instinctively he wanted to curl up next to taetae, but he knew taetae would get upset again. he just didn't understand why.
taetae gave a low rumble in acknowledgment of koo's apology. he completely understood that koo didn't mean any harm, but unfortunately that couldn't fix the way his brain was wired.
jimin's heart melted at the sight of the two of them communicating, and even more so when koo curled up as close to taetae as he could without touching him to be there for the other pup.
koo was warming up to him, and that was all jimin had wanted.
eventually they were able to fall into a bit of a better rhythm with taetae, who jimin learned could be quite adorable.
once taetae warmed up to jimin he started being more excitable with him. this lead to big smiles, joyous laughter, and very happy stims.
and koo and taetae were getting along a lot better. jimin made sure to monitor them when they were close to each other to avoid another mishap like the coloring one, but it didn't seem likely. koo and taetae could communicate through puppy sounds; howls and rumbles, yips, whimpers, barks, any and all of their natural sounds helped them understand each other.
koo could be very clingy, following taetae around almost like a shadow. and when he wasn't following taetae, he was being jimin's baby and getting all of the physical affection he needed.
koo was very much still living in 'baby land' as jimin liked to call it, and he realized taetae wasn't far off either.
taetae acted a little older than koo, could walk instead of crawl, could talk a little bit, and liked more intellectually stimulating things than koo. the younger puppy could be content doing nothing but lying in jimin's arms and playing with little things like rattles and chew toys. but taetae liked to think and figure things out and explore, got bored if his mind wasn't being engaged properly. so jimin bought him things more suited to his likes.
koo didn't play with any of them, poor baby tried one of taetae's puzzle toys once and when he couldn't figure it out he just got fussy and upset until jimin rocked and cooed at him. but taetae loved them so much, figured the special puzzle toys out easily so jimin kept ramping up the difficulty until they kept him occupied for hours. jimin had never seen someone so intensely focus on something, and maybe he would've suggested him to take a break but he knew taetae was completely happy that way. taetae greatly enjoyed sitting in one comfy spot for hours as he tried to figure his puzzle out.
of course jimin would remind him to come eat and have some water and use the bathroom and such, and that was what taetae needed. he may not have remembered on his own. jimin healthily fed into all of taetae's interests and hyperfixations, and it made the hybrid feel very comfortable and safe.
and best of all, jimin gave taetae a collar.
and like koo's was baby blue with his name attached, taetae's was baby pink and had his name too. he felt so special! when jimin gave it to him he cried from how happy he was, and then he just kept doing happy stims and excited tics. he was finally loved. he and koo were both jimin's little angels.
and after a bit of warming up he started letting them make limited physical contact with him through hugs and cuddles which made koo very very excited. koo attached himself to taetae whenever the older pup let him, tail always wagging in delight with happy rumbles coming from his chest.
it made jimin feel really proud and happy to see them being so much closer. the three of them together felt like the perfect family, and jimin felt fulfilled taking care of them. he knew them both inside and out, was attentive to their individual needs and even if he messed something up he knew they'd understand and forgive him immediately. their relationship felt so special.
and taetae and koo wanted to show their mimi how special he was to them. jimin was a little worried when he woke up and didn't feel koo next to him, and even more so when taetae wasn't in his room, but then he headed downstairs and was relieved to see his pups coloring together. but he also smelled something coming from the kitchen. "good morning, my angels. what are you up to?"
koo immediately abandoned his picture to stand up and give jimin a hug, tail wagging excitedly as he nuzzled against him and enjoyed his scent.
"hi, baby pup." jimin giggled, reaching to gently pet him and scratch behind his puppy ears. "mimi wondered why you weren't still in bed, but i see you and taetae have something going on. should i go in the kitchen?" he took a seat on the couch and koo settled in his lap immediately.
"no, no." taetae shook his head. jimin wasn't allowed in the kitchen right now.
"alright, what should i do then?" he chuckled.
"mimi wait please?" taetae asked politely, and jimin smiled fondly.
"alright, i'll wait right here." he nodded, deciding to occupy himself with giving koo's cheek lots of kisses. the puppy giggled and smiled, forgetting all about his picture unlike taetae who was intensely working on his own.
when taetae was done he suddenly felt really excited, beginning to giggle and bounce as he smiled widely. the surprise was done and he could show jimin now! "eyes close?"
jimin closed them and nodded, and taetae got up to go into the kitchen and plate something delicious for jimin.
koo was supposed to be helping, but he was very forgetful and being the big lovable baby he was, he wanted to stay in jimin's lap forever. so taetae returned on his own with a yummy breakfast for jimin. "mimi mimi." he giggled, signaling for jimin to open his eyes.
"aw, taetae! you made mimi breakfast?" jimin smiled, feeling his heart warm instantly.
taetae nodded, tail wagging excitedly as he eagerly watched jimin taste it. he hoped jimin would like it, his old owners made him cook for them a lot.
jimin was truthfully surprised by how good the food was, he'd never asked taetae to cook and taetae had never mentioned being able to. "this is perfect, baby! you've been hiding your talent from me." he laughed, then getting some more with his chopsticks to feed to koo who had started sniffing the plate and whining because he wanted some too. "did you make something for yourself too? this doesn't seem like one of your safe foods."
taetae nodded and his tail wagged delightedly. jimin could easily recognize what kinds of food taetae did and didn't do well with. it made him feel so loved and seen. "taetae ate, koo ate."
"good, sweetheart. well thank you so much for making me breakfast! i'll eat it all up." jimin giggled, taking more bites and occasionally sharing some with koo.
taetae hurried back into the kitchen to bring jimin some fresh coffee, made just the way he likes it. jimin smiled and graciously accepted it. "you even made me coffee?"
"and- and present." taetae nodded, grabbing both his and koo's pictures from off the coffee table. he joined jimin on the couch and held the pictures out to him.
jimin's heart melted, and as he looked over the sweet pictures tears came to eyes. koo very messily tried to color jimin. there were a lot of random things on his paper because of how often he got distracted, but that didn't matter to jimin. his baby pup drew little hearts and smiley faces around jimin's stick figure and it was a picture different than what koo usually did. jimin knew he tried to make it special.
taetae drew and colored a picture of himself, koo, and jimin. there were lots of hearts everywhere, they were holding hands, and taetae even included his and koo's collars. but what really moved jimin was what taetae wrote.
puppy loves mimi so much, please never let puppy go
"oh, taetae..mimi will never, ever let you go, sweetheart okay? i love you so very much, you make our family complete."
taetae couldn't help it as tears welled in his own eyes and he hugged jimin tightly, scooting as close to him as he could. "love mimi love mimi." he sniffled.
koo loved hugs and immediately joined in on theirs, tail wagging and chest rumbling happily.
jimin smiled and giggled at him. "and i love you so very much too, baby pup. i'm so happy to have you. thank you for my picture."
"love koo too love koo." taetae murmured. he loved koo a whole lot too, loved having such a sweet companion around who loved him and respected his needs.
taetae felt so completely loved and he was happier than he'd ever been, safe from anymore mean owners and comfortable knowing he wouldn't be hurt anymore. koo felt the exact same way. he didn't have to stay outside anymore and try to find shelter or food on his own, and he didn't have to run from anymore scary people on the streets. jimin saved him and gave him a safe, loving home where he didn't have to worry about a single thing ever again.
they spent the rest of the morning and afternoon cuddling and playing with jimin, lots of laughter and giggles filling their home that could only be a result of pure happiness.
after dinner they spent the evening watching cartoons together, and then they were showered and bathed before bed. taetae decided for the first time ever to join koo and jimin in jimin's bed, and their mimi read a few stories to them while koo drank from a bottle and taetae rubbed his face all over jimin's pillow.
eventually the two pups were on the edge of sleep, but not before they both received kisses and were told that mimi loved them. taetae murmured it back and koo just sleepily swayed his tail before his eyes closed and he was peacefully dreaming. taetae joined him soon after, hugging jimin's pillow close and beginning to lightly snore.
jimin smiled at them and got ready for bed himself, eventually turning off the lamp and getting in bed with them. he pulled koo close and ran his fingers through the baby puppy's hair as he loved to do, humming a quiet lullaby even though he knew they were already asleep. his thoughts drifted back to what taetae and koo did for him that morning, making him breakfast and coffee and drawing him pictures. it was so sweet, he knew nobody had ever done anything so sweet for him before. he loved them with his entire heart and would make sure they knew now and forever just how much he appreciated their loving gesture.
they really were the best things to ever happen to jimin.
and becoming their mimi's pups was the best thing that ever happened to them.
