Aomine pities him then and tells him to get in the car, turns off the radio and buckles his seatbelt after he starts the car and drives three blocks. There’s a quiet pounding in his forehead when he realizes that there’s only a single shot left and he’s already taken half of it with the last game, theory of the moment eliminated with a single step to the left. Murasakibara does not look him in the eye, opens a pack of nori-flavored crackers instead.
It starts to rain. The raindrops fall on the windshield in cramped clumps and Aomine doesn’t bother to use the wipers, rolls down his window to let the water spray directly onto his face. He rolls down Murasakibara’s side of the window, too, and they both get sprayed in the face by the cramped clumps of rain until Murasakibara tells him to stop it because his crackers are getting wet, he rolls the window up and and Aomine rolls it back down and he rolls it up and Aomine rolls it back down until a fight breaks out in the middle of the highway, crackers fly and seatbelts unbuckle and the car swerves slightly until Murasakibara’s back is sprawled halfway across Aomine’s lap, his hands pinned painfully against the steering wheel by Aomine’s, hair wet and three different kinds of emotions spinning across the dashboard.
They kiss like that.
