Work Text:

Hold me close

And hold me fast

This magic spell you cast

This is la vie en rose

They came back to Earth. A year late, but they all did.

Bellamy had always imagined in his head what would it be like if Clarke was up there with him and everyone else, away from the aftermath of the Praimfaya, living a peaceful life for at least five years.

But she had built a life of her own down here, on Earth.

Bellamy’s knees gave up when he saw his blonde princess running towards the rocket, full of life and healthy, and healthy. Bellamy had almost ignored the child running behind her, icey blue eyes and brown hair. If anyone else looked at her they might have though that she was Clarke’s and his.

Did she give birth alone?

Questions flooded his mind but the only thing he could now focus on was Clarke holding on to him, gripping his neck hard and pressing her forehead to his. He was chanting her name again and again and again.

Clarke, Clarke, Clarke.

Raven came to Clarke next, breaking their moment and his eyes shifted to the little girl.

Madi.

That’s what Clarke told them after they got into the rover, how she found it in the first place, the rubble over the bunker, the bird which helped Clarke in finding a home and leading her to merely a year old Madi. He could see in Clarke’s eyes that Madi meant more to her than anyone could ever imagine, that she was the reason she found a will to live in a world after Praimfaya.

They all had settled in to their cabins once they reached the heart of the valley, or what Clarke liked to call- Eden.

Bellamy’s cabin was right next to Clarke and Madi’s, Monty and Harper took the one near the church, Raven and Echo took the one right next to their cabin and Murphy and Emori took the one right next to the shore.

They had actual, cooked food for the first time in six whole years, cooked by Clarke with a little help from Murphy. They had never felt so close to each other before, but now they all did, Clarke was with them. And Madi.

Madi was sitting on Clarke’s lap, opposite of Bellamy when they were around the bon fire. Bellamy couldn’t take his eyes off them. They laughed, exchanged what they did in these past years, how Monty’s algae put Murphy in a coma and how Madi once took a bath in a tub full of berries for her birthday.

“Well, Madi needs to sleep now, I will catch up with all of you later,” Clarke said while taking Madi into her arms who was clinging to her mom in a monkey like grip.

He waited for a few minutes and then went to their cabin. The door was already open and he could hear voices from one of the rooms.

When you press me to your heart
I'm in a world apart
A world where roses bloom

He could hear singing.

Clarke was singing.

He peeped into the room and saw Madi in a blanket with Clarke, the mother rubbing her daughter’s head while singing a song.

He had never seen anything so perfect in his entire life.

Bellamy leaned his head against the door, trying to embrace a moment in his life in which he had never been at so much peace.

And when you speak

Angels sing from above

Every day words
Seem to turn into love songs
Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La vie en rose

“I love you mommy,” he could here Madi, “I love you too natblida, sweet dreams.”

Tears were flowing down Bellamy’s face, the gravity of what happened today finally dawning on him.

Clarke was alive, she had a child, and he left her alone on a radiation soaked planet.

“Bellamy?”

Clarke’s voice startled him and he looked at her, hair chopped off with pink streaks, in a simple full sleeve t-shirt and shorts. She had never looked so at peace and comfortable before Praimfaya.

Bellamy took her into her arms, sobs leaving his mouth, unable to control any of his emotions.

“You are alive, you are here, you are alive.”

Words left his mouth not to comfort Clarke, but to comfort himself. He had thought that Clarke was dead for six years because of him.

“Please don’t leave me princess, I have missed you so much,” Bellamy said, nuzzling his face in Clarke’s neck.

“I am right here, Bell, and I am never leaving.”

Clarke put her hands on his cheeks and looked into his eyes, leaning slowly in.

Their lips met half way and stars exploded for Bellamy.

They brushed their lips slowly at first, hesitation in their hands and mouths for a split second, but then Clarke made a noise in the back of her throat and Bellamy couldn’t resist anymore.

Bellamy grasped her thighs in his hands and picked her up, leading her towards the room which was opposite to Madi’s, and put her on the bed while kissing and fumbling with her clothes.

“I love you so much, Clarke,” words escaped his mouth before he could control himself, all while kissing her.

“I love you so much, Bellamy,” a chuckle escaped his mouth and he kissed her again, deep and slow, “I have thought about this moment for the past six years Bell, I need you to hurry the fuck up.”

“Yes ma’am”

Bellamy took his shirt off and the rest of his clothes, and they were lost in each other, showing their love to each other, after six long years.

They came out of their cabin each hand holding one of Madi’s and heard whistles and hooting sounds from their friends. Bellamy and Clarke looked at each other, finally content that everyone was safe and that they all were here.

That they were here, together.

And life will always be
La vie en rose
