since megumi met yuji, he knew his death would happen. but he never knew how close they'd become. although yuji had a legendary curse inside him, he let himself get close to yuji. they were dating for a long time, when suddenly yuta informed them of yuji's execution date. it seemed like so far in the future. where did the time go?
now megumi was watching as yuta walked up to the executioner's platform, with yuji in handcuffs. the light shined on both of their faces, and surprisingly, yuji was smiling, however yuta was holding back tears. "that dumbass, smiling even when he's about to die," megumi sighed. he had brought along nobara and gojo, for emotional support. no matter how much he hid it, these two helped him cope with the idea of yuji's death, no matter how hard it seemed.
but none of that mattered. yuta was getting ready to decapitate yuji. megumi closed his eyes, but then realized it wouldn't make any difference. before he knew it he was screaming. this wasn't like megumi, yet he was still screaming for yuji. nobara and gojo grabbed his arms and had to remind him that he knew this was gonna happen. right before yuji's head was cut off, everyone heard yuta. yuta's final words to yuji were, "you've done great kid."
right as he got home, megumi broke down. nobara and maki were staying with him, just until they realize he can cope. of course they knew megumi wouldn't be able to cope, no matter how hard he tried to act emotionless, he always had a soft spot for yuji.
after a few more weeks, megumi showed no signs of improvement. he couldn't even wear short sleeves or shorts anymore. everyone knew why, but they acted oblivious
suddenly, megumi woke up in the middle of the night. this wasn't uncommon though, since he had been having nightmares of yuji ever since his execution. but when he looked over to yuji's bed, there was a figure there. he quickly jumped out of bed, and ran over to yuji's. then, he passed out.
"megumi.. bro, buddy, pal, babe, wake up" a voice called out. it sounded just like yuji's. he knew it wasn't anyone from outside, the doors were locked, and he had tricked nobara and maki into leaving ages ago. he looked up, and saw yuji, but as a ghost, hovering right over him. "yuji, but-" megumi started. "shh i know i died, i'm a ghost!" yuji said, in his normal cheery voice. for the first time since yuji's death, megumi smiled, and it was genuine. "so why are you back?" he asked, confused. "well... you know what they say, if a spirit comes back, then i must have something i want to achieve! it's kind of embarrassing though, i don't really know what it is," yuji smiled. "well.. do you think you can stay with me until you figure it out..? maybe..?" megumi asked, starting to cry. "babe?? why are you crying... that was the plan idiot.. i'd be fine with never figuring out if i got to stay with you!!" yuji reassured megumi. this went on forever, with megumi and yuji doing everything together.
this fun seemed like it'd last forever, but all good things must come to an end. megumi knew this, but he had tricked himself.
a few months later, megumi and yuji were just on the couch when pieces of yuji started coming apart. "fuck, megumi, babe, please, what do i do?" yuji started panicking. "fuck fuck fuck this can't be happening... I CAN'T BE LOSING YOU AGAIN," megumi screamed, while in tears. as much as he tried. megumi knew he couldn't do anything. yuji was soon gone.
"i'll be there soon my love," megumi sighed. then, there was a gun shot. after that, nothing. gojo rushed to megumi's home, but it was too late. he called the cops, and megumi was pronounced dead on sight.
