Work Text:
You were lying on your bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. There was a pebble in your hand, which you were lazily tossing up and down. A knock on the door caused you to drop it suddenly, narrowly missing your head. You chose not to retrieve it and instead slumped further into your pillows.
“Y/N?” It was Ezio, but you were too tired to talk to anyone; you shut your eyes. You felt the mattress dip beside you. “What’s the matter, tesoro?”
“I’m fine, Ezio,” you mumbled, slowly opening one eye.
He patted you on the shoulder, gesturing you to move over as he laid down beside you, flicking your abandoned pebble on the floor and and wrapping an arm around your shoulders.
“No, you’re not.” You leaned into his chest, smelling fresh fabric; of roses with a hint of gunpowder.
“It’s so hard, Ezio…” You begin to whittle off about what’s been going on, over every single detail about what’s made you upset. It made you feel better knowing you talk to someone about this.
“I can understand why you’re upset, amore,” he said quietly, kissing your forehead and further wrapping you up in his arms. “But don’t let it make you unhappy. Claudia and I are here for you, and mother will always help you.”
“You have the Auditore’s, and the rest of the Brotherhood is here for you. Don’t ever feel like you cannot talk to someone; the bureau always has someone.”
“ Ti amo, Ezio. Thank you.”
“Ti amo anch’io, tesoro.”
You spent the rest of the evening talking in relatively good humour, cuddled up in each others arms.
