You, Me, and the Handy Killer Man

Summary:

A shadow grips the crumbling Earth
Making way to new birth
Sunlight brings hope to heal the broken
The forgotten will awoken
Specks of the sky shatter the dark
A new world starts

A prophecy that must be fulfilled by the demigods in Japan. Though it's unknown what each line stands for, one thing for certain is that Izuku must see it to the very end whether it means he dies or not. Even if it means leaving his boyfriend, Eijirou, behind. At least he would leave the world with the most sunshine boy in the world.

A shadow grips the crumbling Earth

A new world starts

A sigh comes from a green-haired boy. It’s a seemingly calm day, but it doesn’t fit right with him. Never can be as someone who is a demigod, especially if he’s the son of Zeus. Today leaves Midoriya, Izuku very restless. How can it be so calm? How can it be so perfect? Midoriya doesn’t know what it is, but something is going to come. Something wrong. Call it a demigod’s intuition.

A hand reaches over to his from across the table. “Hey, Mido- Izuku? Is everything alright?”

Midoriya looks up and blinks. He sees a worrisome smile from his boyfriend. He immediately feels sorry for thinking of bad thoughts on what’s supposed to be a date. Midoriya thinks of telling the other boy his thoughts but decides against it. He doesn't want to be a downer when he's supposed to be having fun. It isn’t fair to his companion.

“Sorry, Eijirou. I kind of just spaced out again. I was just thinking about how happy I am to be able to spend time with you,” Midoriya smiles reassuringly.

Of course Kirishima, Eijirou brings his sunny smile back. His thumb rubs over the knuckles of Midoriya’s hand, “Alright, babe. I was just worried that you were thinking of… other things again or something. Ah, but I’m glad that isn’t the case! Ahum... Anyways, did you hear about the crossover with All Might and Crimson Riot? Our two favorite superheroes!”

Kirishima is always quick to try to lift someone’s mood, like a ray of sunshine piercing a cloudy sky. Fitting for a son of Apollo. He puts Midoriya at ease, even with the nervous babbling about fictional comic superheroes. When Midoriya is trapped within the shadows of his own mind, Kirishima always seems to use his sunniness to warm him.

ϟ☀ϟ☀

Midoriya is feeling less anxious by the end of the date. His mood had improved considerably, although his anxiety about something feeling wrong hasn’t fully gone away. Since it’s still unsafe for demigods in the city, they enter Camp Half-Blood.

It’s a camp safe haven just for people just like them — a person with a biological mortal parent and Greek, or Roman, god parent. In the past hundreds of years, the Greek, also Roman, gods decided to move over to Japan since it’s where the strongest influence in the world has gone. In the past, it used to be the United States of America.

There are stories of two great Greek wars that happened there. Both included a son of Poseidon, Perseus Jackson. Out of all of the heroes, yes even Heracles, he’s probably one of the greatest demigod heroes he’s ever heard and read about! Even Kacchan wants to be as great as him. Eijirou calls him super manly. Chiron seems to talk about him almost nonstop. It makes Midoriya nervous that he may have to follow behind the footsteps of someone that.. Amazing.

A new big prophecy was told about a hundred years ago or so. For a while, no one knew when the prophecy would happen. Sometimes he has dreams of heroes from the past telling him that he is that hero and he must win the war. Sometimes his dreams turn into nightmares where he fails and everyone he loves dies because of him , stealing whatever rest he could have had. The fact that he can fail at any given moment... It terrifies him.

Kirishima’s grip tightens around Midoriya’s hand as they both enter the camp, abruptly pulling him from his trance. “Hey, babe. What if we had another one of those superhero movie marathons tonight? I know it isn’t in our plans, but I just want to continue our time together. We haven’t had one in awhile. I know we’re both busy trying to get ready for the big prophecy, but we should rest too sometimes. It’s totally manly to rest, you know?”

Midoriya closes his eyes and mentally lets out a big, deep breath. Everything is alright. He may be a demigod, but that doesn’t mean anything bad is going to happen today. His eyes open again and he smiles.

“Yeah. That would be wonderful. I miss doing those with you.”

Kirishima sighs in relief, “I’m glad. Now come on! I can’t wait to watch some Crimson Riot action with you!” He pulls his lover to the Zeus cabin with him.

“Oi! You saps! You better come out of that cabin in three hours for the meeting. Unless you want me to come and kick both of your asses!”

ϟ☀ϟ☀

Fear courses through Midoriya’s veins. His demigod instincts scream at him to  run. Instead, he turns around right as the Earth behind him crumbles. Anyone else would say that this power can belong to any Greek or Roman god, monster, titan— anything. However, Midoriya knows that this could only be caused by a son of Hades. Shigaraki, Tomura .

It has to be Shigaraki. Despite there being many enemies of the past, there’s only one person who can possibly gain this much power at this time. Just like any Big Three Greek/Roman god, a son of Pluto is not one to be messed with.

Wait . A son of Pluto. The big prophecy is beginning. Shigaraki is the shadow that’s crumbling the Earth.

Midoriya looks over at Kirishima. He’s scared, but he has people he loves who he has to protect. An entire world to protect.

In his mind, time seems to stop for the world. Fear and anxiety course through his entire body. Dreams and nightmares rush back at him. His feet can’t seem to want to move towards the danger ahead. He’s scared.

“Deku!”

“Deku-kun!”

“Midoriya-kun!”

“Izuku!”

He’s scared, but he has people he loves whom he has to protect. He has an entire world to protect. Without another thought, he rushes towards the danger. He’s ready for this. He has trained for this. Riptide is in his hand. Armor covers his body to protect him from as many attacks as possible. No more hesitation!

With all the courage he can gather, he screams, “Shigaraki-kun!”

Electricity surrounds Midoriya as he flies into battle. He presses the cap on a pen that turns into a sword in an instance. Using both hands, Midoriya swings the sword diagonally.

Clang!

Red maniac eyes glow in glee behind their owner’s sword. “Midoriya-kun! It’s finally time for the prophecy to begin! Let’s start the next line of the prophecy, shall we? I will make way for the new birth ! Come, my nomus!”

Creatures start coming out of the crumbled Earth. Some as big as elephants, tough as bulls. Others are as small as a horse, quick as cheetahs. New monsters that aren’t even in the oldest memory of the Greeks.

Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech!

Fall back! Fall back!

Below the two demigods in the sky, the creatures that Shigaraki calls nomus charge towards the other demigods below. The ones at the front lines put their shields up in hope to slow down the nomus while the other demigods can retreat. If there aren’t so many nomus, they could have a chance to figure out their weaknesses. However, there are only so many demigods even with both Greek and Roman combined.

“You see, Midoriya-kun, I’ve been using my time to create new creatures for my new world. You wanna know why Kronos and Gaea failed all so long ago by the low-life of Perseus Jackson and his friends?”

Midoriya has no time for Shigaraki’s games. Refusing to answer, he pulls his sword back and tries to slash against Shigaraki. His teeth grit against each other when Riptide clangs against Shigaraki’s sword once more.

Shiiinnggg!

“It’s because they never thought of creating new things. They never thought of having creatures that no one has defeated yet. No one can use your precious history now.”

With the next hit, electricity explodes out of Riptide. The explosion causes both sides to fly back a bit.

Bwooom!

“Even you with the sword Anaklusmos can’t defeat me. You’re no Perseus Jackson. You’re no Jason Grace. You’re no Hercules. You may be the son of Zeus, but you don’t have enough power to defeat me .”

A sense of doubt invades Midoriya again but for only a moment. Midoriya flies at Shigaraki with a confident roar.

Clang!

“Don’t worry though. I’ll only use them to destroy you, every demigod, and every god in this world. I’ll become the ruler of a new world. I’ll be the one to combine sky, earth, and of course.. The Underworld .”

Rage fills Midoriya’s vision. Blood courses through his veins loudly in his ears. “AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!”

Shigaraki grins widely and laughs. His mouth moves, but Midoriya can’t hear.

SLAM!

“It’s time for everyone to bow down to me!”

Midoriya claws at the hand that has its grasp on his hair. Shocks of pain send through his nerves as the grip tightens with each passing second. He grits his teeth as he tries to not let out sounds of pain.

“Nomu. Bring him here.”

The sound of thunder roars up above. At the speed of sound, lightning strikes down. For any other person, the lightning would fry them, however, it only sends a welcoming feeling for Midoriya. The smell of smoke indicates the Nomu is dead.

Except that isn’t the case. The Nomu moves once more, bringing Midoriya to its master.

Shigaraki cackles maniacally, “I figured that you would try that. I created these Nomus to counter any and all Gods and demigods. Cheap tricks won’t work.

You know. I wish you would’ve joined me. Became mine. We would’ve made a great team, you and I. Two of the world’s greatest demigods joining forces. It would’ve been magnificent! Oh well.

It’s too bad you won’t be alive to see the new world.”

Shigaraki stabs Midoriya’s stomach with a stygian iron sword. Midoriya screams out in pain. Though it isn’t from being stabbed. The pain is from the feeling of his own life force being stripped away. There’s no words to describe how it feels except he can see his entire life flash by.

Memories of how he was a lonely person in the world before he came into Camp Half-Blood. He made so many friends. Gone on so many missions. He’s had very many close to dying incidents, but never quite like this one.

He remembers how he first fell in love with Kirishima. Granted, the circumstances were less than ideal, but Kirishima looked like an angel— even though Midoriya was bleeding out at the time. The concern in Kirishima’s face for him right before his beautiful, bright smile of relief. How could Midoriya not fall in love? Many more situations like that happened, which made Midoriya go deeper and deeper in love.

He remembers that he was the one who asked the other out. Both of their faces were as red as the inside of a watermelon. It was during a battle against Shigaraki and the League of Tartarus. Midoriya really chooses the worst places when it comes to love.

Everything he shared with Kirishima all flash by: their first date, their first hand-holding, their first kiss.. Their first “I love you”s.

Every single moment together flashes in Midoriya’s eyes. He really loves that son of Apollo.

With the last of his life force, Midoriya whispers out, “I love you, Eijirou.”

ϟ☀ϟ☀

The winds whisper in his ear just after he strikes down his enemy. Kirishima thinks he can hear Izuku’s voice in the breeze. A shiver runs down his spine. He looks at where Izuku and Shigaraki are, seeing the last of Midoriya’s life force being taken away.

The panic hits him hard. He screams out in agony, “ No! ” Before he can break into a run, before he can save Izuku, someone grabs his wrist and yanks him backwards.

Katsuki yells, “Eijirou! We have to retreat!” Kirishima doesn’t spare a glance towards his best friend. He keeps his eyes on Izuku, desperation clawing deep into his chest. There’s no time to think of a proper plan, no time to hesitate and he sure as hell wasn’t going to leave Izuku there.

He yanks his wrist away from Katsuki’s grip. Kirishima growls, “I’m not leaving him, I have to help. He’s up there alone with Shigaraki.” He can’t leave Izuku behind. He has to go up there and heal him. What kind of child of Apollo would leave an injured behind?

Katsuki looks at where Kirishima is looking. Katsuki’s scowl deepens. “Fine, but I’m going up there with you. I’m not leaving you behind either and you need someone to fight while you heal Deku.”

He brings his fingers to his mouth and whistles. A couple of pegasi fly over to them. Kirishima hops onto a reddish-brown coat pegasus while Katsuki hops onto a golden coat pegasus.

“Let’s go, Red Riot!”

“Let’s kill that extra, King Explosion Murder!”

Kirishima doesn’t take his eyes off of his lover and Shigaraki for a second as soon as both pegasi take off. Time seems to slow down significantly as they get closer. Kirishima feels his heart break as all he can do at the moment is watch Izuku’s life force get taken out of him. Hurry, hurry, hurry!

Katsuki yells at him, “Hey idiot! Shoot an arrow at Shigaraki. I’m going to throw my spear at that monster to get him to let go of Deku. Once he lets go, you grab him and bring that nerd back. You’re a son of Apollo. I’m sure you can think of a way. While you’re doing that, I’ll buy as much time as I can and then we’re going to take Shigaraki down. We’re not going to let that damn extra win!”

Kirishima nods, thanking Katsuki for thinking up a plan. He grabs his bow and an arrow from his back. Aiming towards Shigaraki’s hand that’s gripping the sword, he pulls the arrow back. Breathe in. Breathe out. The arrow flies, hitting Shigaraki’s hand.

Shigaraki screams in pain while the monster turns it’s head towards Kirishima and Katsuki. The monster screeches and lets go of Izuku.

“Red Riot!”

The pegasus whinnies, flying as fast as it can towards Izuku. Kirishima reaches his hand out as far as he can, grabbing his sword with his other hand.

Shigaraki pulls the arrow out of his hand. He looks over in fury, seeing the son of Apollo fly over. “Oh no you don’t!” With his other hand, he goes to stab Izuku once again. However, Katsuki deflects the attack with his own sword.

“Your fight is with me now!”

That gives Kirishima the moment to grab Izuku. He pulls his lover partially onto the back of the neck of Red Riot. Kirishima places two of his fingers against Izuku’s pulse on his neck. Izuku is very barely alive, but with how little of his life force left..

Kirishima places his hands against Izuku’s chest. “Please, father. Give me your strength.” He mutters a hymn to his Apollo. Tears flow down his face as he pleads for his love to not die.

“I love you, Izuku.”

ϟ☀ϟ☀

“Midoriya-kun. You must wake up. Do not let our will be in vain..”, a woman with black hair pulled back into a ponytail smiles at him. Her eyes are as bright as the stars. The aching fades away, the woman leaves as suddenly as she comes. In her place, a light grows and Midoriya’s dream melts away.

Midoriya gasps loudly. His hands wildly grasp around when they feel soft fabric. His eyes shift to see Eijirou staring down at him with tears in his eyes. His lover laughs, but still is crying. Midoriya can only think about how much he loves that sound. It’s so relieving to hear it again.

“Izuku! You’re alive. Thank the gods,” Eijirou sobs out. He tightly hugs the freckled demigod.

“Eijirou? Is the war over yet?”

Eijirou shakes his head. “Katsuki is holding Shigaraki and that monster back the best he can. I know that your life force just came back, but we have to help him.”

Nodding, Midoriya looks over at Kacchan screaming out for their enemies to die. He lets out a breath and grabs Eijirou’s hand. Eijirou pulls him up with a smile. “Got a plan, my nerd?”

Midoriya rolls his eyes, “Eijirou. The next line of the prophecy is about us. Or at least I think it is. I know I usually have a plan, but I think we need to leave it to fate to decide how this will end. Nothing always goes according to plan anyways for us.”

Eijirou sighs, “I’m not a fan of improvising, but I’ll do whatever you say.”

Midoriya flies off towards the battle ahead with Eijirou hopping onto Red Riot and following after him. Once more, the pegasus takes off towards Shigaraki and the Nomu.

ϟ☀ϟ☀

Die! Die Die! ”, Kacchan screams as he stabs his spear into the Nomu, only for the weapon to bounce back. The Nomu tries to grab Kacchan, but he quickly evades. Shigaraki from behind slashes into Kacchan’s back, taking some of his life force. “ Augh!

Eijirou nocks an arrow and shoots it into Shigaraki’s dominant hand. Shigaraki screams out and pulls his stygian iron sword out. His head snaps to see Eijirou and Midoriya on Red Riot.

“How?! You’re supposed to be dead!”

“Fate decided not!”

Shigaraki’s eyes narrow, “Fate? I’ll be the one to decide everyone’s fate! Nomu! Get them!”

The Nomu screeches, however, Kacchan hits the Nomu’s face with the butt of his spear. “Your fight is with me, monster.” A huge grin on his face. “I’ll show everyone that I’m the only one who can bring you down.”

He looks over at Midoriya and Eijirou, “You two take care of Shigaraki! I’ll take care of this thing!”

Midoriya flies towards Shigaraki, bringing Riptide down. The sword crackles as lightning surrounds it. Shigaraki brings up his own blade to block the blow. Eijirou comes in and slashes from behind. Shigaraki twirls so his feet slam into Eijirou’s torso and kicks off to get away from Midoriya. Eijirou falls off of Red Riot, reaching his hand out in hopes of grabbing the saddle but fails. Red Riot neighs in worry and is about to go after him, but Midoriya flies down instead to grab Eijirou’s extended hand. Then, Midoriya uses all of his strength to throw Eijirou at Shigaraki. Eijirou pulls an arrow onto his bow and releases. Shigaraki blocks, but doesn’t see Midoriya shoot a bolt of lightning onto his back. Shigaraki grits his teeth from the pain, but turns around and thrusts his sword forward.

The battle continues on for a long time and both sides are getting heavily tired. Eijirou growls in frustration, “We can’t continue on like this. When is fate gonna decide?”

“Now. It took me a while to perfect this but...” Shigaraki grins. An entire mountain shadows over the entire area. Shigaraki thrusts his arms out to the side. Shadow-like wisps surround his entire body. “Tartarus will rise and I will be the ruler with my dark power.” His form changes into something demonic. Horns grow out of his forehead, a tail grows from his butt, his teeth become sharp and terrifying. The mountain falls onto the ground below. “ Hahahahahahaaaaaa!

Shigaraki disappears into the shadows and in the next moment, he appears right in front of Midoriya. His tail slams into Midoriya, making him spiral away into the distance. Eijirou yells, “Izuku!” His eyes widen when Shigaraki appears in front of him right after. Shigaraki grabs Eijirou’s throat.

“You know. It would be such a shame if the son of Zeus watches his lover die. I’ll crush out his sun once and for all with you. But first, what if I curse you so that your soul will never leave this body? Once you die, your soul will never go to the Underworld. You can never reincarnate and fall in love with each other again. You can never live happily together ever after in Elysium.”

Eijirou claws at Shigaraki’s hands. Fear shows brightly in his eyes as he hears the start of the curse. “I, son of Pluto, curse you-”

As fast as lightning, Midoriya chops Shigaraki’s hand that is holding Kirishima off. “Don’t you dare!” Midoriya grabs Kirishima.

A menacing growl escapes out of Shigaraki as he glares at Midoriya, as if unaffected by the loss of one of his hands. “You keep getting in my way and it’s getting very tiresome. I need to squash you out now.”

“Eijirou. You have to become bright like the sun.”

He looks at Midoriya in surprise, “But I’ve never done that before! I’ve heard of Will Solace being able to do that but no one else has been able to after. And what happened to having no plans?”

“I know, but it’s our only chance and I believe you,” Midoriya smiles at him.

Eijirou blushes and nods. He closes his eyes, trying to gather as much energy as he can throughout his body. His body starts flickering light before it becomes a constant radiant. The light is so bright that it makes Shigaraki scream, trying to cover both eyes with his one hand. His shadowy wisps disappear and his demonic form turns back to his regular body.

Midoriya grabs one of Eijirou’s arrows and throws it at Shigaraki. It zips through the air with electricity and aims true into Shigaraki’s heart.

ϟ☀ϟ☀

The feeling of clean air and the scent of the sea wasps onto Midoriya. It slowly wakes him up to a bright blue sky. A groan escapes out of his mouth as his body feels extremely sore, but he’s too tired to even move. His head turns to the left and sees his lover staring right at him with a sunny smile.

“Guess you’re finally awake huh?”

“Did… Did we do it?”, Midoriya asks skeptically. He’s afraid that this is all just a dream or they’re somehow in Elysium.

Eijirou chuckles, “Yeah. We did it. The both of us. I guess we really were the ‘ specks in the sky shatter the dark .’ Who would have guessed huh?”

Midoriya starts muttering, “Well, I kind of guessed.. But I didn’t want to say anything just in case you know? I was afraid if I said anything then maybe fate decided that we weren’t the specks in the sky . Somehow Shigaraki and the Nomu was and then he would shatter what he thought of as dark in the world. He would start a new world. The world would’ve become chaotic and dark and terrifying and— ”

A kiss stops Midoriya midway through his usual muttering. They stay in that position for a good minute before Eijirou pulls away. A sigh leaves from Ejirou’s mouth, “You’re cute when you mutter like that, but you worry too much as usual. We defeated the League of Tartarus. Fate decided us. Together. And I think they’ll still decide us . You and I.. We’ll also start a new world. A world where demigods, mythical creatures, and all the like can finally live happily. So how about it, Midoriya, Izuku? Do you want to have ‘ a new world starts’ with me by your side forever? Whether it be in Elysium or through reincarnation?”

Midoriya’s heart flutters. Only the son of Apollo, god of the Sun, will make him feel this way— in love.

“Always, Kirishima, Eijirou. I promise from the River of Styx.”
