Chapter Text

Fundy spent Christmas alone, stuck on earth. He couldn't say he remembered ever even celebrating the damn holiday with his father or his uncles. Maybe they should've, humans did insist that Jesus was born on Christmas morning.

He shivered, snow falling on his shoulders as it came down slowly. Fundy wasn't freezing, just slightly uncomfortable as he waited for the familiar figure of that certain demon to arrive. It was unnatural for the other to be late, usually the demon would arrive minutes before Fundy could even revive the text.

Fundy’s phone felt heavy in his hands, tossing it back and forth slightly, waiting for at least a notification. He had been amazed when he first saw the mobile phone in a mechanic store window, surprised by the effectiveness of the electric box. Fundy truly enjoyed it because of the conveniency of being able to contact Punz whenever Fundy desired. Including now, when Fundy could be at home with a mug of hot chocolate but was instead waiting for the blasted demon to grace Fundy with his presence.

Central Park, New York City, was littered with couples holding hands and wearing warm, knitted hats that were in all types of shapes and colors. On the lights, decoration had been stung between each post. Even wreaths were hung under the yellow glow of the street lamps. It was festive, but to Fundy, it was almost an eyesore.

"Angel," a voice purred from in front of Fundy.

Fundy's eyes were locked at his feet, and right as the man spoke, he could see hiking boots come into view.

Looking up, Fundy finally smiled, "Punz."

"Sorry to keep you waiting, sweetheart," Punz scrapped off the snow next to Fundy, sitting down after wiping his hands off on his leather pants.

"Leather on a snow day?" Fundy frowned. He was wrapped tightly with multiple sweaters and a scarf that covered his nose and mouth.

"I'm from hell, I'm always warm," Punz smiled as he tilted his head towards Fundy to get a better look at the angel. "Don't you look angelic today."

"Are you saying that I never look angelic?" Fundy asked, "I'm always angelic! I'm an angel."

"Sometimes I think you're a fallen one," Punz snorted, "Sure have the attitude of one."

"Quiet," Fundy huffed, haughtily pointing his nose in the air.

"Don't tell me to shush," Punz laughed, almost cackling, "Common, Tod! You can't be offended that easily."

Fundy sighed, looking at Punz through the corner of his eye. Narrowed and glaring at the demon dressed inappropriately for such a cold day. He wasn't even festive.

"Tod~" Punz purred as he leaned on Fundy's shoulders, smile long and wicked.

"You should at least be a bit festive."

"I am not celebrating Jesus' birthday."

"Then celebrate Christmas," Fundy sighed, shaking his head as he felt his should burn from the body heat of the demon leaning on him. "With me."

"With you?" Punz' smile stayed plastered across his face, "With you, sweetheart."

"Yes, I did say with me," Fundy let Punz wrap their fingers together, happily basking in the demons heat.

"I can already imagine it," Punz hummed, eyes never wavering away from Fundy's face, "Us cuddled up in front of your fireplace, a soft blanket across our shoulders as you sip away at your hot chocolate... While snow falls slowly outside your old apartment window."

"You are describing a fantasy."

"I am describing reality, describing what to be when I drag you back to your place."

Fundy's gaze was once lingering on the red and green lights that were strung between the yellow lamps but now it travelled to stare at the blonde demon dressed in leather and who wore hiking boots.

"You are a devil."

"Sure am, angel."

The snow still fell, no longer biting at Fundy's cheeks. The only thing biting him now was the teeth of the demon next to him that pulled at his lips. It was soft and sudden. Fundy had gasped when Punz reached up to press their lips together, his pale fingers curling in Fundy's palm and at the nape of his neck. It was slow and Fundy hummed happily into Punz' mouth.

Fundy gasped for air once they pulled away from each other, "Hope that was part of your fantasy..."

"Always has been, Fundy."

And Punz leaned in for one last kiss under the trees of Central Park.
