Work Text:
They're in a tent, in the middle of the woods, on a warm summer evening. Rachel decides she couldn’t be happier if she tried every hard drug in the world.
"What are you two doing?" She giggles as she sees shadows wave past her tent. She catches clasped hands, knees knocking gently; someone laughs. Peter Pan would be jealous of how animated these shadows are.
"We're dancing, Dare." Comes Percy's rough, playful voice.
"Through the fireflies?" She calls out, just as a swarm of light buzzes past the tent flap. One gets caught in the fabric and she prods it gently to help it escape into the night.
"I want to dance through an army of fireflies with you." Jason's quieter, firmer voice echoes through her.
"Well then," She grins, sticking a pale hand out of the tent. She feels fingers curl around hers, warm and long and bony. Percy. "Dance with me, my muses."
They're all laughing as she is yanked through the tent opening and into the night air. Her body is enveloped by two warm ones.
She feels firefly light.
