Test Run

Summary:

A Brief Drabble Based from the Tail-End of a dream I had back in 2007, which was written immediately after I woke up from it before I could forget the details. This yes, does include dialogue.

Focuses on Tails, who is building and teaching a robot to act like Cosmo, to fill the void that was left in his life... will she ever get it right?

Work Text:

"You got her Tails?" Knuckles asked, watching as tails carried the robot to his virtual version to the Blue Typhoon.
"She's a little heavy but I got her." Tails replied as he brought her to a table on a testing balcony & placed her on a chair. She was a robot seedrian proto, which Tails was waiting to test. He hooked her up to a machine in the wall and booted her up. Her eyes flashed on, they were scarlett colored. The robot gazed at Tails & smiled. Tails winced remembering cosmo, he shook the thought out. Who knows what would happen if he cried so suddenly in front of it. The robot blinked again, tilting its head a little. Tails begun the test,
"Okay Cosmo, I'm going to ask you a few questions, you ready?"
"Yes." It responded.
"Okay," Tails took a deep breath,
"First question, who am I?" he asked, pointing to himself
"You are Tails of course!"
The machine on the wall blinked green, red, green, red, then blinked green,
"That's correct." Tails gave her a smile, she smiled back. Now she seemed more like Cosmo.
"Second question, what is this place supposed to be?"
"The Blue Typhoon, yes?"
"Okay, final question; who was the Blue Typhoon made by?" Tails knew she was bound to get this wrong,
"Oh, by you, Tails" She said, then added "Being a Super computer"
Tails wasn't sure that was all correct, but he decided to let her go for that one,
"Yeah," he chuckled, "That's correct alright!"
The robot then made a surprised face,
"Oops, let me correct that. You Tails, for being caring & brave enough to go out in space."
Tails wiped a tear from his eye, this was just too good to be true--

Notes:

It's taking all of my courage to post this online again. The first time I shared it was back on a forum, but because of the format I had written it I was ridiculed for it. No one believed it was part of a dream I'd had the night prior at all, and it was apparently "sad that I "dreamed" it".

I was being honest, too, so that kind of smack from others who weren't as fortunate to remember their dreams with as much clarity at the time actually hurt. A lot.

Regardless, I hope that it's a good read!
