Take A Risk

Summary:

After successfully saving the US president’s daughter, Leon’s stay in Spain has extended to complete one last errand, and another unexpected one.

Work Text:

Valencia, Spain's third largest city, was home to miles of golden sand. Leaving the window open of the small hotel room Leon currently accommodated, the streets were quiet, the construction work passed, people were gathered in where there was air conditioning, music and iced drinks for all. It was impossible not to be in a good mood, especially when sitting in the shade of palm tress under clear blue skies.

Leon grabs the cigarette tucked behind his ear, places it in his mouth and then cups his hand to light it. After his long drag, he blows the smoke from his mouth and nostrils, enjoying the exotic feeling.

He slides into a slump onto the leather armchair, whilst enjoying the smoke inside his lungs which calmed his nerves as he takes another long drag.

The air is sweet, the weather is fine, birds in the sky and he can hear water not too far away. He closes his eyes, perfecting the art of emptying his head, feeling good about his free escape.

Just last week, the thought of his last mission would have sent him into a panic attack. But Leon swore the switching off for a bit would do him good. One more stop before leaving this country. He let the sound of birds fill his ears.

In his quiet contemplation, Leon thought about the people he cherished and what was right in his life.

He lets out a breath, slowly and rises to his feet, flicking the ash of the cigarette into the ash tray and leaves it there.

His hand automatically draws itself toward the object inside his suitcase like a magnet.

Taking the key in his palm, Leon sits returning to a straighter posture, whilst thoughts of her filled his head. He turns it over in his hand, letting his eyes roam freely over the small teddy bear.

Just the thought of her was his silent lyric, the one that comforts him. He feels his heart jump, as if she was right here at last.

The bear is soft to the touch, holding it to his face as if it carried his desolation, taking in the aroma that lingers from her touch.

But at the same time, his brain spent processing confusion. Her words and actions were divergent, pulling him in opposite directions. Words that slip from her as easily than leaves fall from trees.

Why did she save him? Why couldn't she just let go? Was it pride? Guilt? Was she confused too? Or did she not see her words and actions for what they are? He felt like giving up trying to figure her out. To him, he was just a ball bouncing, appearing free to the casual glancer yet always restrained by a pretty rope.

Leon wished to pick up that phone, find her to figure out his true feelings. Figure out why he reacts and responds to situations the way he does whenever it comes to her.

That this attraction to her was dangerous, but it feels so deep, as if it were the start of a song that plays on and on, something so soothing to his soul. It was instant, something about her that excites and calms him all at once.

He closes his fist around the teddy, shifting his body weight to lean back, closing his eyes again.

There was a time where he was angry at the universe for introducing her only to take her away, he wasn't so sure if he found his peace with it. For on these days and moments of missing her, he could not entertain the idea of another and he wanted to know why.

Leon was sure of this though, whatever it was between them was real, no matter the miles between them.

Opening his eyes, staying still, his blurred vision tries to make out the familiar silhouette standing a few feet away from him.

Red.

The soft click of her heels filled his ears and soothed him. He felt frozen in place. She reaches out to touch him with her soft hands. Looking up at her, so close to his face.

When she comes to haunt him, he takes in a breath. He clasps her hand and clutches it towards his chest.

His heartbeat keeps steady rhythm until the sight of her arises. He feels and hears her breathing, laying his head upon her chest. Tenderly, she combs her fingers through his hair.

"Leon? Do you copy?"

He wakes up, startled, her name on his lips.

"I repeat, do you copy?"

"Yeah, I'm here." His voice croaks, he moves to sit up, opening his eyes.

It wasn't the first time he had floated deep in his subconscious state.

"Is something wrong with your earpiece?"

"No, it works fine."

He responds, suddenly feeling the urge to smoke again, to take his focus on his mission.

"Be ready and packed because you're headed back to headquarters straight after this."

"Copy that. Leon out."

People moved as chaotic rainbows in the domestic Valencia airport, made up of two terminals in one building. The beams supported by windows let in the sun which casted a faint yellow light through, slowly gathering evening. The walls elegantly curved, floors clean and white, reflecting the rays of sun, skimming the surface.

Leon's phone was vibrating, he takes it out and flips it open, taking a seat on the first chair.

"Kennedy."

"Hey Leon, it's Ashley."

A call that he expected, sooner than later.

"Hello Ashley, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

"I couldn't thank you enough for saving my life Leon. I owe you big time."

He smiles at her touching statement, watching people move past him with ease.

"You don't owe me anything."

"Yes I do. I wanted to ask, have you boarded yet?"

"Almost. Why?"

"Sure you want to leave?"

"I can't wait to get the hell out of here Ashley. What possible reason is there for me to stay?"

His mind wandered until she asked him the question.

"Remember the woman who saved us on the island?"

Leon pinches the bridge of his nose, trying to mask his fluster. He takes a deep breath and puts his mouth back to the receiver as he took a moment to collect himself.

"What about her?"

"I think I can direct you straight to her."

His runs his hands softly across his face. His train of thought derailed. Was she messing with him just because he turned her down? He conjectured the number of possibilities of how she was capable of acquiring non existent information.

"How were you able to do that?"

"A friend from college. It's a long story. Daddy doesn't know, nobody does. Just me." She confesses. At least she respected keeping Ada’s identity a secret which he truly appreciated.

"I hope this isn't some prank Ashley." Leon says, glancing around him but her words sounded believable. A silent moment passes, he runs a hand through his hair, sweating again.

"Well? Do you want to know where she is?"

He snaps to attention and retraces his steps, back to where he had come from, increasing his pace, dodging people making it just in time as the doors slide shut behind him.

"Where do I find her?"

The Mediterranean coastline known as Costa Blanca included a modern well appointed villa within the exclusive private gated community of Altea hills. Modern in style, with prominent glass and aluminium features, it's open layout created a elegant and comfortable space. The shadows of the trees danced upon the cedar fence, the leaves flicked like candle lights, creating a new picture from moment to moment.

A woman who enjoyed living in luxury, Leon thought. It fit her well.

The villa cascaded down a hillside with three separate levels. Light were on in the upper tire level, which Leon guessed was the master suite.

Standing just outside the gate, his perspiring skin was caressed by the cooler air. He then spots her revealing herself onto the spacious balcony. He could make out her slender and graceful figure. Her good, no, great legs were long, muscled, and sleek, shown off by the short length robe she wore. The curve of her body became prominent by the robe which complimented her glistening skin colour, enough to give heart aches to any of the passers by, as it surely caused his heart to skip a beat.

She had a phone to her ear, leaning her arm against the railing, her other hand occupied a glass of wine, as she rolled the liquid absently. She made him believe in the possibility of perfection, the possibility of how good someone can look from a minuscule distance. It was tough for him to look away. He has no idea who she really is, he has no clue if he'll ever see her again, but the mystery is what makes her so strikingly irresistible.

Leon’s guilt itched him to turn around and never look back. Setting foot behind those gates meant that he was going against everything he stood for.

But he needed to know. Desperately and urgently.

He looks for an entry, the villa seemed secure so he hoists himself up the wall not too far from the entrance.

He jumps down with ease, landing onto the main central terrace. He wasn't sure if it was the heat being the reason of his body sweating or the adrenaline rush of seeing her again.

Just ahead of him, was a spacious dining area merging with the outside patio and pool. Leon makes his way past, looking up to the level inhabited by her and then begins to climb, using the railings and wall to hold onto, hoping he doesn't trip and fall flat on his back, or face. Then the thought crosses to him.

What was he doing? Stalking a woman who practically kneed him in the balls and stabbed his knee? Held him a gunpoint to steal a deadly sample? Twice?

He ignored his conscious, shaking the thought away. There's no going back now.

He was moving in agitation, because of what was waiting for him behind those walls.

Reaching the third tier, Leon carefully walks across the ledge that supported him as he leans back sliding across the wall. Then, he swings his legs over the railing of the balcony where she stood a few minutes ago. The aroma of her perfume still lingered in the air and he was highly entranced, it lured him towards her. White curtains were drawn in front of the windows, flowing against the soft wind, he steps in, feeling his heartbeat drumming in his ears.

"Come to return the key I gifted you?"

Just the sound of her soothing voice brought comfort to his soul.

"I like keeping souvenirs."

The moon's delicate light had just turned the world a flame with silver when he saw her. The one thing that made her so unimaginably attractive was far by her eyes. Those expressive eyes sitting atop the amazing vessel of a body. He noted everything at once. Hair, face form, her sultry red lips. Her skin looked soft and smooth, on her arms, breasts, everywhere. The intensity with which he had looked at her made him feel as though her face were the most captivating visage in the world.

Ada caught him staring, her eyelashes of velvet black blinked slowly, as if to invite him over.

Did she know he was coming? She didn't seem surprised by his trespassing nor exasperated by it. But then again, he couldn't read her.

Leon’s conscious screamed at him to leave. The sudden tight band of guilt squeezed his chest. He had betrayed his country for her, chose her over his country. She was an enemy.

Hasn't he thought better than spending one night with a woman he didn't know? Hasn't he been warned of the clamities that could befall a man at the hands of a devious female?

Leon hadn't revealed her identity, her presence in the island remained non existent. He had withheld information that could be a key element for a government case. He had stood there, juggling desire and duty and desire had won. Because right now, he stood in the very same spot with the woman he so desperately desires. Just seeing her confirmed his theory of his conflicted feelings.

Biology had taken over, he could feel the tug of it now that he entered the room.

"I thought you would be out of the country by now."

"I had one last job, and an unplanned errand." He says thickly.

Her robe folded over her front, but he could see the outline of her breasts. The robe had a tie belt around the waist, sexy as hell because he was now sure she was naked underneath.

His whole body pulsed with physical desire, rather than talking he wanted to touch her. He wanted to open her robe and press his face against her soft skin, inhale her scent, taste her skin.

"If you want me Leon, then just say so." Her voice was husky and sexy.

She advances and grabs him by the belt, pulling him to her. The instant action nearly made him choke on his own spit.

"Sure you want to go down this road?"

Right now the future looked irrelevant, what mattered was the present. He swallows hard.

"I wouldn't be here if I wasn't sure."

With her grip still on his belt, she guides him to the wall and leans against it, along with him creating a small gap between them. They stared at each other with immense passion and unresolved sexual tension.

"I could hurt you."

He knows and didn't care.

Leon was captivated by her beauty, which lied in the unspoken, in the unknown, and in the expressiveness of her beautiful eyes.

"You’ve compromised my whereabouts, so I have to leave."

He knows, and didn’t care.

Her voice was like music to his ears, he could listen to her talk every day.

He places both hands on the wall now, trapping her but she kept her grip on his belt, he knew this woman liked to dominate.

"Why didn't you finish me off?" Leon challenges with curiosity. Ada tilts her head slightly, then brushes a strand of his blonde bang so she could gaze into his blue eyes.

"Why didn't you disarm me when I asked for the sample?"

They both knew the answer to both questions. But, it wasn't really them if they didn't participate in this game.

"I should be arresting you."
Her fingernail grazes along the outline of his belt, he tries to compose himself and show no reaction but he was failing terribly.

"Be my guest."

She waited for his next move or words.

"Scared?" She smiles coyly, knowing she was winning this.

His heart begins to pound, he stood there feeling desire run from his heart, to his chest, and down towards his groin.

Her finger touches his lips, down to his neck. It gave him the chills. Her hands went from the side of his head, to his shoulders and down to his hands. She grabs his hands gently yet firm, putting them in front of him and pauses. She spoke no word. His heart was about to beat out of his chest, he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath.

Ada runs her lips on his skin, towards his ear but it doesn't make it quite far. She bites him gently, it didn't hurt but only made him want more.

She pulls back, facing him again. She stares into his eyes and smirks. When that smirk gave him it's full attention, it jolted him like an electric current, indicating that the next move was his.

Then, he runs his fingers through her hair and then gently guides his face closer to hers. Her scent hypnotised him, everything about her did. A heartbeat later, his arms were around her and his mouth was grinding against her. He savours every second of that kiss with all the things that were to happen next because he knew that after this, she would be gone.
Her lips were warm, her mouth sweet.

Her lips were full and sensual, and delivered what they suggested. She applied the perfect amount of pressure. When her tongue touched his, his heart expanded and his arms encircled her waist.

The kiss deepened, his tongue probing. The longer they kissed, the more ardent it became.

He suddenly brakes away, breathing hard.

“That’s what I had to know, it wasn’t just me.”

She wets her lip and rolls them inward.

“No” she replies, grabbing his face now.

“It wasn’t just you.”

Placing her hands on his chest, she guides him towards the empty master bed whilst he untied the belt at her waist, removing her robe. Leon's blood pounded against his eardrums as hard as rain pounds a roof. It drowned out everything else. The cautious murmuring of his common sense and conscience didn't stand a chance against such racket. He stops, admiring her as she stood above him. She looked incredibly seductive.

Ada pushes him onto the bed as he falls, he just wanted to hold her, smell her, be near her and share her body heat.

Climbing on top of him, her gaze lingering on him longer than she intended to. She knew he would come. She was only found when she wanted to be. She came willingly into his arms, face inches away from his.

"Another thing, don’t disappoint me."

"You’d have thrown me out if I did so far."

She smirks and kisses him, his mouth responded warmly to the thrusts of her tongue that stroked and tasted and tested until he had to pause to catch his breath. Lowering his head, he presses his face into her neck, while her hands closed around the back of his head, and her fingers combed through his hair.

He kisses her lips then her ear, and whispers, “This is crazy.”

“Are you afraid?”

“Yes.”

“Of me?”

“No.”

“You should be.”

“I know, but I’m not.”

Her hands moved over his back, he felt her fingers kneading muscle, and exploring ribs and spine.

They fell in the centre of the room, and twinning around on one another with the blind, mindless craving of lovers.
