A little hurt, a little human.

Summary:

REWRITING.

Izuku has had it a little... rough, to have a little mercy on how his childhood has been. Singing songs was never supposed to hurt anyone, and he wanted to be a hero. And heroes help people.

So why is he seeing his parents being engulfed in flames? Why does his belly hurt? Why is there a man whose eyes are being swallowed by mean dark things? Why is a star in the shape of a man next to him?

Izuku had a lot of questions and he just wants to watch birds and play with the stars.

OR:

Where Izuku has been wandering the streets, has a singing quirk, is autistic, and Shouta and Hizashi are looking for another street cat to adopt.

Chapter 1: The Far Away

Chapter Text

All of it. His home. Why was it engulfed in flames? Why was he hearing loud noises? Like, the ones in the movies when someone is scared. No one should be scared if dad was there.

"Dad?" asked in a whisper the mess of green curls, tilting his head and eyes full of curiosity "Can I go to bed now?"

It was the middle of the night. Izuku knew because the big white circle was singing with the stars in the sky. He was really sleepy, but it was truly exciting watching how the stars of his father were so so big! His dad had told him that he made stars from his mouth and they were truly hot.

Maybe now the stars wanted to be outside his father's stomach? Or maybe his mouth was as big as his apartment! Although that would be tricky if he wanted to eat chocolate. Izuku didn't like chocolate, his dad said it was bad but Mom always brought it home. He should tell her to stop eating. Izuku didn't want his mother to eat bad things.

Sirens.

Oh? Those were bad guys. Dad said bad guys would want to make him not sing. Izuku wanted to sing. His dad had even taught him ones that made stars! It was a surprise for Mom. Mom didn't like it when he was singing, so he would show her he could make lots and lots of stars for her!

Sirens. The loud and scary noises were gone. But the sirens were closer and louder.

Oh, right! He didn't want to be with the bad guys, so he should get away. But, Izuku didn't want his parents to be with the bad guys. What if they harmed them? What if Dad's stars went to sleep early? What if…

"Son, listen here" growled his dad. Maybe he had a fight with mom? Yes, that was probably it. He wanted him to listen, so he should do it. He didn't want to play with stars today.

Now Dad was in front of him and sitting in his green mattress. Izuku could show him how he was learning a new song about a boat! They could be mighty sailors!

"Son" smiled slightly the tall man "If you ever hear sirens, you go and walk to the far away, okay?" The far away was just down the stairs and then to where his heart would guide! Finally!

"Will Mom be there too?" Dad would surely be there, right?

"Probably, problem child" Pronounced with a sudden laugh his Dad after a tiny moment of silence while ruffling Izuku's green curls. "But, if someday Mom and I can't go with you, you should go first. We will be playing with the stars, so you shouldn't worry son"

Right. Playing with stars. He could play with stars too, so he should do as his dad says.

Izuku hopped from his place and followed the path he had practiced with his dad days ago. The smell of the meat that his father cooked was getting really ugly. His head was starting to ache.

Pam. Pam. Pam.

Little sounds came from his playful and focused walk. Izuku didn't like to put all of his feet on the ground when he was walking, it didn't feel good. So his father had told him that he could use only half of his feet! That was so smart and cool!

And like that, the tiny mess of green curls got farther and farther from where his parents were. They were with the stars now, he was now going to be with them all the time as long as it was night! They would be watching him from above, so he should be good. Going to the far away was going to be so exciting!

Two days later

The far away was rude. Everyone was loud and there were big monsters with four wheels and people were prisoners inside them. He would've helped them, but his father said that people didn't like to play with stars. He didn't want to bother people.

His belly was aching. It was like when his parents were angry at each other and they forgot to feed him. It wasn't their fault though, Izuku had learned that emotions could be sorted out by being alone, and he didn't want to bother his parents and mess the sorting-emotions-out process.

A lot of people in the far away urgently needed to sort their emotions out.

"Hi Ray!" greeted Izuku enthusiastically "I really don't like rats, they are bad. You shouldn't eat them, but I truly appreciate it Ray" said the pale kid with a bright but tired smile while ruffling the cat's fur.

He liked it when his dad made that for him. He wanted to play with the stars too. He couldn't miss them since they were with him. That would be silly of him. And Mom said being silly was bad.

"Oh! Ray, I think I learned the difficult word of the song I practiced for dad! Mom always liked to play it in the living room and it was loud and it sometimes hurt, but my Dad said loud is good. It shouldn't hurt me" rambled Izuku, standing up and starting the circle-walk-with-gestures his mom said was silly. She was playing, so she wouldn't see his silly son!

"Anyway, I was thinking you could listen to it! I think I'm hungry and Dad said I should help people. Not make people help me. I don't know why this is important but I'm a little sleepy" Izuku took a deep breath and turned around to see his new cat friend with a determined smile and hands on his hips.

The child warmed his voice as his father had taught him. He liked the funny sounds that came from his mouth. And then, after drinking the last drop of water in the container that had been in his forgotten backpack, he started to sing. Of course, he hadn't really thought about the fact that he had wandered around the city without realising he had a backpack.

"Did I drive you away?"

Izuku had been practicing this. It was the surprise that would make her mother like his singing! She was happy when she listened to this song, so he should make her more happy! Maybe he could make Ray happier first.

"I'll always look out for you"

He started to swing in his place, looking at the sky and watching the tiny spots of light in the obscure sky. His parents and Moon were listening to him!

"And I know I was wrong, but I promise I won't let you down"

He stopped for a moment since his heart was feeling like the static of the TV. It felt weird. Maybe his heart wanted to talk. "Are you sorting your emotions out, heart?" talked the freckled six-year-old boy while petting his chest gently.

Then a loud laugh filled the air, and Izuku clenched his fists in an attempt to protect his heart. His heart wanted to be alone. And they had heard him sing. He was lucky he didn't get to the sparks part. He wouldn't want people to be bothered by his quirk.

"Kid?" asked a deep voice, ignoring the loud laugh that still filled the lonely house they were in.

It was then when he decided to turn around and see the owners of the strange voices. If they were bad guys he would have to rescue Ray. He had to get help. Maybe stars would help him? No, his parents were with them, he couldn't interrupt them.

Lost in his thoughts and moving without thinking, Izuku saw them for the first time. One man with dark monsters under his eyes, the one who had the deep voice, and another one who looked like a massive yet weird star. He was the one laughing. His hair looked weird. A little laugh escaped from his tiny lips.

"Shoutaohmygodhelaughedpleasecanwetakebothohmygodican'ttakeitanymore" started the weird Mister Star without breathing. Maybe he should breathe. Is he okay? Maybe Mister Star was the reason there were dark monsters under the eyes of the Deep Voice sir.

"I swear I will burn your radio thing to the ground" Oh my god the Deep Voice sir was now the Radio Destroyer sir.

"You wouldn't!" Gasped Mister Star with a really loud voice. He sounded like the novel his mother liked. They weren't bad guys, he knew.

"Good evening Mister Star and Radio Destroyer sir, do you know where I can find… wait, maybe they could tell me if my song is not that silly. Mom should like it, but Dad says I shouldn't sing unless he's here. Maybe Mister Star could help me. He looks weird. He's a weird star, but he smiles and his smile is wonderful. Radio Destroyer sir could hear me out too, but I don't have a radio he could destroy. I don't want to make him angry. People are really angry here. Maybe they could give me something to fill my stomach. But I shouldn't ask for help, that makes me silly. Maybe I can help them. Maybe I could tell. Mister Star to stop putting the black monsters under Radio Destroyer sir's eyes. Wait but…" Izuku stopped when a hand landed on his shoulder and Ray started to rub himself with his leg.

What he found was both sirs looking at him as if he had been saying something silly. They looked like his mother. Maybe he had bothered them with his question. Shoot, maybe they played with stars too! He wasn't really good at playing with stars with other people that were not his father.

"Kid, look at me" demanded softly Radio Destroyer sir "We will give you something to eat, don't worry. We'd be glad to do it. We'll be getting Ray too" paused the man to look at Mister Star with a side smile, finding just a Mister Star with Ray dozing off in his arms.

"Thank you Radio Destroyer sir" Izuku heard a snort, maybe Mister Star was sick or, oh my god what if he was choking? "I'll take my backpack and then I will follow you. Sorry I have to burden you sirs" said the green curled boy with a bright smile, running for his backpack and returning in no time.

That was actually the last thing he remembered, because his eyes were like,

plum!

And he was now in the sweet dreams realm! He just now remembered he had to sleep to get there.
