“Are you sure this is alright?”
“Yes, it’s quite fine, dearest. I spoke to my Queen-Mother and got her blessing for this. The Commander also knows and agreed to run interference with my Prince-brother. Besides, it's quiet for now on all sides of the war and I want to be alone with you for a bit without our duties getting in the way.”
From her companion, there's a light huff of amused air behind Sharena that brings a smile to her face. Aside from the occasional sneaking away to secluded corners of unused rooms, it was difficult to find time to just be with her dearest Kiran. She knows that Kiran needs some quiet time just as much as she herself does.
Picking up a picnic basket that she had put together in the kitchens for just this activity, Sharena, gently takes Kiran by the wrist and leads her out of the bustling castle to a quiet forest glen, knowing that some of the Heroes would follow and keep their distance unless needed. Together they set everything up before Sharena tugs her Summoner down and guides her head gently down to rest on her leg. She reaches into the basket and pulls out a stack of red grapes.
Kiran eyes her and the grapes with a soft smile. “I feel like I should be the one feeding you grapes, Sharena, not the other way around.”
Sharena grins, leaning down to kiss Kiran’s forehead lightly. “For now let me do this. Next time you can do it, my love.”
