To Kiss A Demon

Summary:

It is no secret the feelings that Bad and Skeppy share for one another, but when a certain demon seeks the presence of a certain gemfolk in the late of night, how can Skeppy say no?

Skeppy just didn't realize how hard it would be to share a bed with your best friend.

Notes:

Hello lovelies! It is I, Apricot Tea! If you don't already know, I wrote "You Are Beautiful," which is the first work of this series. It is not mandatory to read, although it is referenced a couple times.

Also, I want to thank you all for all of the support shown on my other work. As stated before, these fics are a form of self healing and I was so glad to read so many comments saying it made you all happy, too.

Remember you are loved, and I am so happy that you are on this Earth. (And if you are from out of this world, good evening. You are loved too. :D )

Work Text:

For Skeppy and Bad, a day's work was quite busy. Having a nine foot tall demon move in with a five and a half foot tall gemfolk meant many repairs and upgrades to the house. After all, Skeppy wanted his new roommate to feel as comfortable and welcome as he could. Therefore, the ceiling would need to be raised, and furniture that used to be fit for one would need to be replaced. Yet at night, their busy days of work could be rewarded with sweet dreams and a good rest.

For now, Bad rested in the living room area where the ceilings were already raised and the couch was big enough for the demon to sleep. Maybe not the most comfortable, but it would do the job.

Skeppy almost felt guilty for sleeping peacefully in his own bed, but in past efforts of offering Bad denied taking away Skeppy's bed. Besides, the ceilings had yet to be raised in the bedroom.

Though something was different about their friendship. Ever since their moment on the couch about a week ago, the two had grown incredibly closer. A barrier was broken, and Skeppy and Bad had grown a lot more comfortable with one another. They even started to playfully banter with each other, small fights for their own amusements that held no poison behind the words.

Ever since their moment on the couch, they realized how much they truly loved each other.

How important one was to the other.

Yet there was something different about tonight, something that told Bad he did not want to be alone. As the demon tossed and turned on the couch, he let out a defeated sigh before sitting up, his pointed ears perking slightly as his urge to be with Skeppy outweighed his consideration to let the diamond boy sleep.

Crawling off the couch, the demon padded his way over to Skeppy's room, his talons making small clicking noises on the hard floor that echoed in the silence of night.

Skeppy had been fast asleep when he heard knocking on his door. Yet the diamond man had never been a heavy sleeper, and the noise woke him as his eyes fluttered open.

Sitting up, Skeppy raised his arms in a small stretch as he rubbed one eye awake, "Bad?"

The door slowly eased open, and it was no surprise seeing the demon's head pop in, a small fang filled smile easing onto Bad's face upon seeing Skeppy's own sleepy one, "I'm sorry I woke you."

Skeppy let out a yawn, shaking his head, "It's no problem. Do you need something?"

"Actually," Bad glanced away and rubbed nervously at the back of his head. "I was uh, wondering… if…"

Skeppy raised an eyebrow, now giving Bad his full attention, "What's up?"

"Well I- I couldn't sleep and…" Bad took a deep breath, looking Skeppy in the eyes. "I-I was wondering if I could sleep in here with you."

Skeppy's eyes widened as he stared into the glowing white eyes that looked into his own with a nervous confidence, "I-"

"You know what, it was stupid of me. I'm sorry for waking you, I'll go-" Bad began to shuffle out of the room as Skeppy rolled his eyes. So much for that small burst of confidence.

"Bad!"

Bad jumped, peeking his head back into the room after making a frantic attempt to leave.

Skeppy out let out a playful scoff, shaking his head as he scooted over in bed and tapped at the empty space beside him.

Bad's smile returned as he nudged the door further open. Due to the shorter ceiling, the demon slowly eased his way in on all fours before making it over next to Skeppy, crawling in as Skeppy lifted the covers for the demon.

"Sorry if there isn't much room. We'll get that sorted," Skeppy stated, letting the blanket fall onto Bad as the demon settled in. Due to his bigger size, he curled into himself slightly so that his legs weren't hanging over the edge.

"Are you sure this is okay? I'm not taking up too much room?" Bad chirped, looking up into Skeppy's eyes with such purity.

"Nope. I've got plenty of room if I do this."

Bad's heart jumped and he let out a little squeak as Skeppy nuzzled into his chest, fitting perfectly into the space between Bad's curled frame.

Skeppy let out a small laugh, "Is this okay?"

"Yeah," Bad whispered, letting out a content sigh.

Skeppy smiled proudly, feeling how a familiar tail gently wrapped itself around his shin as Bad nuzzled his forehead into Skeppy's.

"Goodnight 'Geppy."

"Goodnight Bad."

Time echoed in the dead of night as Bad found himself drifting peacefully, sleep eventually consuming the tired demon. Yet the diamond gemfolk found himself more awake than tired by the second. This was definitely an upgrade from their usual cuddles on the couch, and Skeppy found his heart pounding.

Skeppy didn't mean to stare, but Bad looked so at ease in his sleep. There was no worry, no pain, no fear. Just… relaxation. Peace. Something Skeppy hoped he would see more on Bad's face as he grew used to his new living style in the overworld. Here, Bad was safe. Skeppy just didn't think that Bad realized that just yet despite his love for the overworld.

Skeppy was soon snapped from his thoughts as the diamond boy had a warm smile plastered across his face when Bad's ear would occasionally twitch or he let out a deep sigh in his sleep. In the rare moments, Bad would smile and nuzzle further into Skeppy, which would instantly melt the gemfolk's heart.

Skeppy found himself bringing his hand up to the demon's cheek, caressing the pitch black skin with his thumb. His hand traveled further up to rub soothingly at the demon's scalp, especially near where his horns started where Bad seemed to like it the most.

Bad twitched once more in his sleep, letting out a soft hum as he smiled. The tail around his leg wrapped further as Skeppy held back a small giggle.

Skeppy loved everything about Bad, and was very fond of the demon. How Bad was filled with infinite kindness, yet would snap at Skeppy in an instant to keep his manners in check, especially if the gemfolk let a curse word slip. How Bad cared about Skeppy and was always quick to apologize whenever Skeppy pouted or was playfully hurt. How Bad made Skeppy want to be a better person whenever the demon was being considerate of others, even if said person wasn't always kind towards meeting a demon. How Bad was so incredibly smart yet so incredibly naive all in the same. He even loved how annoyingly stubborn the demon could be at times.

How Skeppy was so lucky to have Bad in his life.

Skeppy held his breath as his hand stopped messaging Bad's scalp, sliding down to rest on the demon's cheek. Chocolate brown eyes studied a demon's face, taking in every inch, every corner, every edge. He eased his hand to gently pull a strand of hair from Bad's face behind his horn, looking down at the lips that were slightly parted in his sleep.

Skeppy leaned it.

Skeppy knew this was wrong, and he knew he shouldn't be doing this, but when his lips grazed Bad's his heart lit like fireworks and his stomach flipped like butterflies. His lips curved into a small smile as he let his eyes close and take in the short moment, before pulling back and softly letting out a soft sigh.

"Skeppy-"

"FUCK!"

"LANGUAGE!"

Skeppy's eyes burst open in both fear and shock, sitting up as he shuffled away from Bad, who stared up at him with great confusion as his head tilted in curiosity towards Skeppy's odd behavior.

"What was that?" Bad inquired, still lying peacefully in his spot on the bed.

"Bad, I am so sorry. I really shouldn't have done that. I-I don't know what got over me-" Skeppy spoke frantically, looking everywhere in the room except for the white glowing eyes that looked up at him with such care and generosity.

"'Geppy-"

"That-that was so wrong of me, I-I'll go sleep on the couch-"

Bad grabbed Skeppy's arm as he began to move, "Skeppy!"

Skeppy stopped, finally taking a moment to breathe and look at Bad, who to his surprise showed no hate but more so, curiosity.

"Skeppy, I liked it. What was it?"

Skeppy blinked, jaw dropping as he stared at Bad with shock. When his initial surprise faded, he squinted his eyes and tilted his head, "Wait, do you not know what a kiss is?"

Bad looked up at Skeppy with eyes of wonder like a child as he shook his head, "A kiss. Is that what it is called?"

Skeppy nodded slowly, "Y-Yeah…" He crawled back into bed as Bad let go of the gemfolk's arm, smiling when he saw his friend's return.

"Can we do it again?" Bad chirped, his smile widening in anticipation.

Skeppy's heart both jumped and churned, feeling as if he took advantage of the very person he cared so deeply about, "No, Bad. I don't think you understand what a kiss is."

Bad's smile faded in disappointment, "If you explain it then maybe I will understand."

"Well," Skeppy started, resting beside Bad once more although he still refused to make eye contact. "It's a thing that people do when they love each other."

"Well, I love you," Bad cooed.

"No, Bad. When they love each other."

A silence fell in the room.

"Skeppy, I do love you."

Skeppy blinked, raising his eyes to look into Bad's. Bad looked at him with such genuineness. There were no jokes in those white eyes.

When the silence went on for too long, Bad spoke again, "Do you love me?"

Skeppy scoffed, the corner of his mouth raising into a smile of disbelief, "I am the one who kissed you first."

Bad smiled, "Then you wouldn't be against doing it again?"

Skeppy's smirk faded, looking between Bad's eyes as he studied the demon's face for any sort of sign that Bad truly understood what this would mean.

The diamond boy was pulled out of his trance as a clawed hand carefully stroked his cheek, his breath hitching as he watched the demon lean in. Bad, too, carefully watched Skeppy's face for any sign of backing out.

They explored each other's eyes before Bad closed his own, leaning in close enough where their faces were barely touching, and his lips were hovering over Skeppy's own.

It was still.

Skeppy closed his eyes. And connected their lips once more.

This time, Bad kissed back, and it was like the universe had exploded. Skeppy could not remember the last time he was so excited about something, and found himself smiling into the kiss once more as he wrapped his arms around Bad's neck.

Skeppy felt the demon's tail lightly tapped against his leg as it wagged best it could under the sheets, as Bad's hand slid to the back of Skeppy's head in order to lightly deepen the kiss.

Bad was still mindful of his sharp canines, but Skeppy could hardly care about that. He was much too happy. Not that his fangs were in the way to begin with.

Skeppy pulled back to catch his breath, looking up at Bad as the demon opened his eyes and lightly laughed with giddiness.

"Bad, I love you," Skeppy stated, and Bad smiled. Skeppy leaned up and began to press butterfly kisses along Bad's face as the demon let out a childish chuckle. The diamond boy kissed along his cheeks, along his nose. Skeppy kissed his forehead, the base of his horns.

"I love you, too, Skeppy," Bad cooed, leaning forward he nuzzled his nose along Skeppy's before placing a soft kiss on the tip of his nose. He held Skeppy in his arms as the other male cuddled into the demon's warmth. They both let out a content sigh as they relaxed into each other's arms and sunk back into the mattress.

"Goodnight Bad," Skeppy hummed.

Bad purred, pulling Skeppy closer as his body curled into the gemfolk's smaller frame, "Goodnight, 'Geppy. Thank you for the kisses."

That was the deepest sleep Skeppy and Bad had in a while.

~•~•~•~Bonus Scene~•~•~•~

The next day, Skeppy had decided it was time to visit the market again to collect some more supplies towards building and renovating the house. Maybe an expansion of the bedroom.

It was no surprise that he would run into the troublesome Tommy, who rather enjoyed taking strolls along the busy streets of the market. The people were still getting used to their new citizen, but Bad had quickly warmed everyone's hearts.

Tommy was particularly interested in Bad, and often liked teasing the demon's innocence with his foul language. Skeppy would often get annoyed with Tommy's behavior, but he knew the child meant no real harm.

"Good mornin', Skeppy," Tommy saluted, pulling the diamond folk aside for a quick chat.

"Hey Tommy," Skeppy replied.

"Where's that demon pal of yours gone off to, eh?" Tommy questioned, looking around.

Skeppy blinked before noticing that Bad had disappeared himself, "Oh, probably got distracted by a stand again."

"No, I'm here," Bad chirped, appearing from behind a stand holding a muffin he must've bought with some extra change Skeppy had given him.

When Bad placed himself next to Skeppy, he quickly leaned in to give the diamond folk a quick kiss as a greeting. Skeppy's eyes widened as his face immediately reddened. Bad had jumped, nearly dropping his muffin, as he heard Tommy let out a heart curdling scream.

"Oh my goodness, Tommy-!"

"Oh my, you two-! You two are most definitely flirting! What the-?! Geez, keep it in the bedroom, why don't ya!" Tommy started in his usual chaotic way, in which Skeppy's mouth dropped as his face flustered even more.

For the first time in a while Skeppy was utterly speechless.

Meanwhile, Bad glanced with great confusion between the two as Tommy let out a quick laugh.

When they got home, Skeppy would have to have a long talk with Bad about public display of affection.
