Chapter Text
It happened so suddenly. Langa’s hand cupped Reki’s cheek as their lips were pressed together. Neither of them knew how they ended up like that.
Reki pulled away, out of breath. “That was… amazing.”
Langa could feel his cheeks and the tip of his nose heating up. “It… It was.”
“Hey, no need to get all embarrassed about it! You know, we could do this more often if you’d like.” Reki smiled brightly at him.
Langa nodded and smiled softly back at him. “Sounds good to me, my love.”
Langa’s alarm startled him awake. It was currently 7:30 A.M. on a Friday.
That dream I had… He rubbed the back of his head. Was I kissing Reki?
For the past few weeks, Langa had noticed how much more attached he was to Reki and he assumed it was just him desiring a closer friendship with him. But this dream essentially confirmed Langa had a crush on him unless it was common to passionately kiss your best friend on the lips.
Not a day went by where Langa didn’t think about how different his life would be if Reki never encountered him with his skateboard. He likely wouldn’t have been as happy, and he most definitely wouldn’t have been able to meet so many other amazing skaters. Not only that, but he wouldn’t have gotten his inspiration back. Reki was the reason he skated. Reki was his motivation.
Langa shut off his alarm and buried his face into his hands. The scene played over and over again in his head. He racked his brain for what happened before to see if there was any other possible meaning, but he couldn’t remember. He sighed in frustration; there was no doubt he was going to be thinking about this for the rest of the day.
Langa slid out of bed and headed downstairs to grab something to eat. Nanako had promised to make him breakfast that morning, but Langa didn’t get his hopes up too much. She was often called in early for work if there were already patients pouring in.
To no surprise, she wasn’t in the kitchen. The only indication she had been in there that morning was the note left on the refrigerator.
Langa,
Sorry, I was needed early again! I’ll try to make breakfast for you by the end of the week, or we can go out to eat for dinner if you’d prefer that. Have a great day at school! ٩( ᐛ )و
Love, Mom ^_^
Well shit, this was partially bad and nerve-wracking for Langa. Typically he'd go to his mother for advice and insight on the meaning of his dreams. This dream was something he knew he couldn't keep quiet about until the end of the day.
Langa thought long and hard about who he could trust with this information.
Oh, I know! I can tell Reki about it! Maybe he'll know what to make of it.
