Work Text:

Another sunny day in Brisbane. Peolpe in a rush to go from one place to another. She wonders where they are going and what for, as she looked at the crowd around her. She felt her stomach twist in hunger, so she walked down the street looking forward to spend her lunch time at the recently opened dinner in the neighbourhood.

Her phone vibrated in her pocket and she saw a message from her best friend. She didn't notice the people gathered next to her and she ran into someone.

-I'm sorry, I wasn'nt paying attention - she said as she put her phone back in her pocket.

-Well, obviously - the man said while looking down at her. He didn't try to hide his disgust. He was just hoping that the situation would be over soon.

A chattering around them caught their atention and they saw a jam of women surrounding a tall, blonde man, asking for pictures.

-What's happening? Is he famous? - she asked the dark haired man.

-You can say so - he answerd and she noticed his accent. - He's all about the looks. But when it comes to inteligence he has no idea what he's doing.

-You just described the majority of celebrities - she laughed. - I'm sorry but I don't really know your name.

Obviously the God of Mischief wouldn't say his real name, specially after New York. So he invented one.

-Levi.

She said her name and reach ou her hand but he did not shake it.

-Are you his body guard? - she asked and imediatly regretted it. She could tell he was insulted. It was a shock when he said that the blonde man was his brother. - I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend.

-You should stop apologising - he rolled his eyes.

She felt a little outraged by the man's attitude, specially because she has been nothing but kind. She gave a shy smile as the man looked at her without showing any kind of emotion.

-So... you going to stay here for a while? - she did'nt know why, but she insisted on getting to know him.

-Why is it your concern?

-It is not, actually - she snorted. - I was just wondering if you would like to get a meal, since your brother is busy.

-Why would I do such thing? - he raised his eyebrows.

-Jeez! - she stared at him. - I just was being nice. You could've said that you didn't want to join me.

She headed toward the cafeteria. She really wanted the man to accompany her. She was new in town and hated being alone, and that man seemed to know the place. Also, he was very handsome.

She felt a shiver in her arms and looked to the side finding him beside her. He walked into the cafeteria and sat down by the window, which had a good view of the entire crowd outside. She ordered her meal and a chocolate pie for dessert, which didn't take long to arrive.

All this time the man was silently watching her.

-Aren't you going to eat anything? - she asked and he shook his head. - Not even a chocolate pie? I hear it's one of the best around here.

- I don't know such food. He shrugged and she let out a laugh and he raised an eyebrow. - Something wrong?

-You're kidding, aren't you?- Everyone knows chocolate pie around here! Where do you come from? I thought you knew the place.

-I'm not from around here, obviously.

-Damn! You are very introverted - she exclaimed as she took the last bites.

-I just don't like human beings,- he commented honestly, he really couldn't stand them, they were inferior beings.

-I must admit I don't like them very much either - she said casually and it startled him. - I mean, our race destroys the environment every day, people kill for money and power, men do horrible things to women. But not all are bad, there are people who do good and help others and well... I try to be in the good guys' club.

Loki grimaced at being compared to a human at the beginning of the woman's sentence, but as soon as she spoke he was a little surprised and a little resentful. In fact, what he did most was to lie to get power, even fake his own death to get a job.

He woke from his thoughts when he saw a plate being placed in front of him. He looked at the woman and she had a beautiful smile, perhaps one of the most beautiful in all kingdoms. And he felt a little better seeing that scene.

-I ordered a slice for you, I hope you don't mind, but it's almost a sin that someone has never tried one of these.

She was looking expectantly at him, wanting to witness the moment of someone tasting for the first time one of the tastiest foods in the world. He put a piece in his mouth and savored the incredible texture and taste.

- That's really good! - she could see a small smile forming on his face. -Incredibly sweet and soft, I love it!

- I knew you would like it. The contentment she was feeling was almost palpable. - Chocolate is one of the best things in the world.

They heard the bell on the door of the cafeteria and when they looked up they found a blond and muscular man.

- Hi brother - he greeted. - What's that on your plate?

- Do not even think about it! - the brunette took the food in front of his brother. — If you want, just buy it!

- The name's chocolate pie! - she told the blond man and he finally seemed to pay attention to her.

-Looks like someone's made friends. - Thor tapped Loki on the shoulder, who rolled his eyes. - But we need to leave!

Her heart lightly missed a beat and the smile faded from her face. Loki noticed and, deep down, he also lamented it. He had enjoyed the company. Thor said goodbye and went through the door waiting for his brother outside.

-Are you sure you can't stay a little longer?- she asked as they rose.

-Yes - he replied with rudeness and headed towards the door, leaving the brunette behind.

- Hey! - she called to him and he turned to see her.

Loki was startled when he felt the girl's arms around his neck. She was hugging him. Loki wasn't used to being hugged. He wasn't sure how to react, but he put his arms around her waist, wrapping his arms around her. They stayed like that for a few seconds until he let go. She had a beautiful smile on his face as he walked away.

- See you! - she said.

Loki knew he wouldn't see her again, but he nodded and met his brother outside. Who knew when it was all over, he wouldn't go to Midgard to find her one last time?

Not all humans were despicable after all.
